Artificial Stimuli-Response System Capable of Conscious Response

Stimulus-response system and conscious response enable humans to respond to environmental changes. Inspired by human conscious response, we presents an artificial stimulus-response system capable of conscious response. The system is composed of an artificial visual receptor, artificial synapse, artificial neuron circuit, and an actuator. The artificial visual receptor with quantum dot layer generates the electrical pulse under light illumination. The artificial synapse with retentive electric double layer processes the electrical pulse signals to strengthen synaptic connections. The CMOS based artificial neuron circuit integrates synaptic output signal to activate the actuator. By incorporating these components, a series of conscious response process is demonstrated which reduces response time as a result of learning process. The demonstrated artificial stimulus-response system offers a promising research field providing an alternative to patients with neurological disorders.
高校體育의 評價에 關한 硏究 : 排求와 持久走를 중심으로

男子 高等學校 1學年 483名을 對象으로 排球와 持久走 2개 單元의 授業을 통하여 Likert法에 의해서 評定分析한 結果 다음과 같은 結論을 얻었다. 1. 評定点의 平均値는 排球가 2.35, 持久走가 2.13으로 排球에 대한 態度가 持久走에 대한 態度보다 好意的인 것으로 나타났다. 2. 評定点이 높은 項目을 보면, (10) 심신의 발달에 도움이 된다는 종목이 排球가 2.84, 持久走가 2.82로서 가장 好意的인 態度를 보이고 있다. 3. 體育目標에 대한 貢獻度는 排球에서 Recreation的 領域이 2.72로 가장 높고, 다음이 身體的 領域으로 2.59, 셋째는 社會的 領域으로 2.39, 그리고 心理的 領域 및 安全에 2대한 領域이 2.14로 나타났으며, 情結的 領域은 1.79로 가장 낮게 나타났다. 4. 領域別 要因에 대한 排球, 持久走의 差異檢證을 위하여 分散分析(Anova)을 한 結果 다음과 같이 나타났다. 가) 身體的 要因(F=0.07146), 心理的 要因(F=1.38161), 精結的 要因(F=0.235)과 項目間의 關係에 對한 分析結果 排球와 持久走에 있어서 有意的인 差가 없었다. 나) 社會的 要因은 α=0.01에서 有意的인 差가 있다고 할 수 있다.(F=16.348) 다) Recreation적 요인은 α=0.01에서 顯著한 差가 있다고 볼 수 있다.(F=152,4705) I studied the two lessons of volleyball and endurance running, making 483 high school students an object of this study. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The mean value of evaluation marks (volleyball: 2.35; endurance running; 2.13) shows that athletes take more favorable attitude towards volleyball rather than endure running. 2. The highest item of evaluation marks is (10) "helps to develop body and mind", which indicates 2.84 in volleyball and 2.82 in endure running. They are also showing the most friendly attitude. 3. The highest contribution of bolleyball to physical culture shows 2.72 in the recreational territory. The second one 2.59 in physical territory, the third one 2.39 in social territory, the fourth one 2.34 in mental territory, and the last one 2.00 in safe territory. The highest contribution of endurance running to physical culture shows 2.54 in physical territory, the second one 2.14 in mental terrotory, and the lowest one shows 1.79 in mental territory. 4. The anovas to investigate the difference of territory elements between volleyball and endurance running are as follows: a) The analysis about the relations among physical element(F=0.07146), mental elemental(F=1.38161), and sentimental element(F=0.235), does not show meaningful difference between volleball and endurece running. b) The analysis of social elements shows meaningful difference in α=0.01. (F=16.8438) c) The analysis of recreational elements shows distinctive difference in α=0.01. (F=152.4705)

The instability of rock slopes caused by heavy rainfall and soil mass sliding needs the preventable and reinforcing method. The most important factor for the stability is the shear strength available in the planar part of the failure surface, which shows that a progressive failure takes place and a reinforcing of rock slope using FRP grout is effectively available. In this study, a grouting bolting interval predictions by limit equilibrium analysis and Matlab mathematical computer codes in several cases is presented for FRP reinforced rock slope. The proposed mathematical computer code can be easily applied for seeking properly FRP grout intervals prior to design and execute a reinforcement of a rock slope in practice.
CFD study on flow approach angle of a bi-directional velocity probe for fire testing

The present study examines the flow characteristics near the bi-directional velocity probe and estimates the probe constant associated with the Reynolds number and flow approach angle. A series of numerical experiments using CFX model are conducted to simulate the 3D flow field near the probe. The CFD model was validated with the best fit polynominal of the experimental data of McCaffrey and Heskestad. The calculated probe constants for a Reynolds number higher than 3000 are almost constant at 1.07 and match well with the conventionally-accepted asymptotic value of 1.08. Using the validated numerical code, a series of parameter studies were conducted. The angular sensitivity of the bi-directional probe increases when increasing the flow approach angle from 0 to 30 degrees, and the maximum angular sensitivity was observed near the flow approach angle of 30 degree. Based on the detailed analysis of flow structure, the present study shows that the pressure at the rear hole of the probe is more affected by the flow approach angle and influenced by the asymmetric wake flow behind the probe body. It is expected that this study can contribute to enhancing the reliability of velocity measurement in fire testing and be utilized as a preliminary study for design optimization of the bi-directional probe based on the understanding of detailed flow characteristics.
Mark III LNG CCS에서 삼각형 충격파의 단순화와 구조응답의 특징에 대한 연구

It has been well known the sloshing pressure has complex shape and various patterns. The pattern of sloshing pressure is variously characterized by the pressure amplitude, duration time and skewness. The structural response induced by the sloshing pressure is also affected by the pattern of sloshing pressure and the type of structural members. In order to understand the structural response by the perspective view of categorized pattern, it is more efficient to make simple sloshing pressure pattern than to reflect the complex pressure history. In this study, the sloshing pressures obtained by the small scale model test are simplified with respect to their duration and skewness. Dynamic analyses of Mark-III LNG CCS are then parametrically performed with the consideration of various types of sloshing impact. Meanwhile, the failure pressures given the duration and skewness are investigated after parametric calculations are conducted to investigate the effect of pressure parameters on the structural response.
