        Experimental study of multiple hemisphere wave energy converters arrayed in a water channel resonator

        In this study, the performance of multiple hemisphere Wave Energy Converters (WECs) arrayed in a Water Channel Resonator (WCR) has been investigated in irregular waves. First, we determine the characteristics of wave responses from model tests, using 16 wave probes in a WCR. Second, the pitch motion responses of three WECs in a WCR are determined. Experimental results are compared with the numerical solutions using the time-domain SeaFEM and OrcaFlex commercial code and agree well with the numerical results. Both experimental and numerical results indicate that when the incident peak period is close to one of the natural periods in a closed WCR, resonance occurs in the WCR. This resonance induces a large wave response and causes a high pitch motion response of WECs. The present study highlights the advantages of using a WCR for energy amplification and lays the necessary foundation for the commercialization of the present WEC system.

        Design of the dual-buoy wave energy converter based on actual wave data of East Sea

        A new conceptual dual-buoy Wave Energy Converter (WEC) for the enhancement of energy extraction efficiency is suggested. Based on actual wave data, the design process for the suggested WEC is conducted in such a way as to ensure that it is suitable in real sea. Actual wave data measured in Korea’s East Sea (position: 36.404 N° and 129.274 E°) from May 1, 2002 to March 29, 2005 were used as the input wave spectrum for the performance estimation of the dual-buoy WEC. The suggested WEC, a point absorber type, consists of two concentric floating circular cylinders (an inner and a hollow outer buoy). Multiple resonant frequencies in proposed WEC affect the Power Ttake-off (PTO) performance of the WEC. Based on the numerical results, several design strategies are proposed to further enhance the extraction efficiency, including intentional mismatching among the heave natural frequencies of dual buoys, the natural frequency of the internal fluid, and the peak frequency of the input wave spectrum.

        Wave power extraction by multiple wave energy converters arrayed in a water channel resonator

        The wave power extraction by multiple Wave Energy Converters (WECs) deployed in a Y-shaped Water Channel Resonator (WCR) has been investigated. A WCR consists of a long water channel, and a V-shaped wave guider installed at the entrance of a water channel. If the period of the incident waves coincides with the natural periods of the fluid in a WCR, resonance occurs, as a result, the internal fluid in a WCR is greatly amplified. To estimate the wave power by multiple WECs placed at the antinodal points in a WCR, the heave motion response, time-averaged power, and capture width ratio were calculated for several design parameters. Also, the systematic model tests were conducted in a 2D wave tank. The numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental data. It was verified that a WCR helps the WECs to produce electricity more effectively by amplifying the wave energy in a WCR.

        Experimental study of wave energy extraction by a dual-buoy heaving system

        The concentric dual-buoy Wave Energy Converter (WEC), which consists of external buoy (hallow-cylinder) with toroidal appendage and cylindrical internal buoy within the moon-pool is suggested in this research and its performance in various wave conditions is studied. The Linear Electric Generator (LEG), consisting of a permanent magnet and coils, is used as a direct Power Take-Off (PTO) system. To maximize the electrical energy extracted from the PTO system, the relative heave motions between the dual buoys must be highly amplified by the multiple resonance phenomena of dual-buoy and internal-fluid motions. The high-performance range can be widened by distributing those natural frequencies with respect to the peak frequency of the wave spectrum. The performance of the newly developed dual-buoy WEC was measured throughout the systematic 1:5.95-model test in regular and irregular waves conducted in a wave tank at Seoul National University. The modeltest results are also validated by an independently developed numerical method.

      • 항공마일리지의 편익과 지식이 소비자의 몰입과 가치 및 충성도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        Since more and more people have experienced long-haul travel with more free time and higher income from work, customer's interest in use of airline mileage has been highly increased. However, most recent studies were focused on airline mileage program as a service factor. Hence, this study aims to examine the influence of benefit from using mileage, convenience, and knowledge on customer loyalty along with mileage value perception. Moreover, it tends to investigate how the differences appear between its correlations depend on customer's personal experience with airlines. In order to do this, the data were collected from 187 tourists out of 210 who had used airline service recently and the final samples of 182 were used for statistics analysis. SPSS 11.1 for windows was used to analyzed the collected data. It has analyzed validity, reliability, and multiple regression in order to test hypotheses. A summary of the analyzed results is as follows: First, the study presents that customer's use benefit of mileage and convenience influence on mileage value perception while knowledge about mileage program does not. Second, it showed that customer's use benefit of mileage, convenience, and experience influence on customer commitment. It implies that mileage is an important factor to choice which airline to fly with. Third, the study showed that mileage value perception influences on customer commitment. Fourth, when it comes to use of mileage program, mileage value perception and customer commitment influence on customer loyalty. Fifth, it has shown that customer's personal experience of using mileage influences on convenience, customer commitment, and loyalty. In other word, the more experience using mileage program customers have, the higher convenience, use benefit, and loyalty they show. Therefore, airlines should notice that use of airline mileage program is an important factor to increase customer loyalty encouraging more frequent use. Further more, to customer's benefit, airlines should offer more various mileage programs to help them perceive the value of the mileage use.         골격성 Ⅲ급 부정교합자의 편악수술과 양악수술후 재발경향에 관한 비교연구

        본 연구는 골격성 Ⅲ급 부정교합 환자에서 술전 상태오 수술방법 사이의 관계 및 악교정 수술후 재발경향을 조사하기 위하여 시행하였다. 연구 대상으로는 악교정수술을 받은 31명(남자 17명, 여자 14명)을 선택하였고, 이중 20명은 편악수술, 11명은 양악수술을 시행하였으며, 평균연령은 22.5세였다. 각 대상에서 술전, 수술직후, 1년 이상 경과 후의 측모두부방사선 규격사진을 채득하여, 투사도를 작성하고, 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 하악만을 수술한 군보다 양악 동시수술군에서 하악체의 길이가 4.24mm, 하안모 고경의 길이가 4.64mm, 하순의 길이가 4.13mm 더 길게 나타났으며, 반면 수평피개도는 3.13mm 더 작게 나타났다. 2. 하악만을 수술한 군에서 8.95±4.45mm 하악이 후방이동되었으며, 양악 동시수술군에서 상악은 5.15±3.46mm 전방이동되었고, 하악은 7.24±9.11mm 후방이동되었다. 3. 최소 1년 이상 경과 후와 수술직후의 변화에 있어서 양악 동시수술군에서 A point는 1.02±2.14mm, Pn에서는 1.05±1.48mm, Sn에서는 1.55±1.37mm 후방이동되었다. 4. 최소 1년 이상 경과 후와 수술직후의 변화에 있어서 B point에서 하악만을 수술한 군은 28% 양악 동시수술군은 8%, B´point에서 하악만을 수술한 군은 24%, 양악 동시수술군은 3% 전방이동되었다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of relapse following orthognathic surgery and the relationship between preoperative state and the methods of orthognathic surgery in skeletal Class Ⅲ patients. Thirty-one patients were selected(17 men, and 14 women) for this study, who had received orthognathic surgery(20 one jaw surgery, and 11 two jaw surgery). The mean age was 22.5 years. Their lateral cephalograms, that were taken preoperatively, immediate postoperatively and follow-up over one year, were traced and analysed. The results were as follows : 1. In two jaw surgery, mandibular length, lower facial height and lower lip length were 4.24mm, 4.64mm and 4.13mm longer than in one jaw surgery, respectively. But in two jaw surgery, overjet was 31.3mm shorter than in one jaw surgery. 2. In one jaw surgery, mandible was move back 8.95±4.45mm at B point. In two jaw surgery, maxilla was moved forward 5.15±3.46mm and mandible was moved back 7.24±9.11mm at B point. 3. Between postoperation and follow-up over on year, A point, A´point, Pn and Sn were moved backward 1.02±2.14mm, 1.73±1.63mm, 1.05±1.48mm and 1.55±1.37mm in two jaw surgery, respectively. 4. Between postoperation and follow-up over one year, in one jaw surgery, B point was moved forward 2.58±4.22mm and B´point was moved forward 1.95±4.39mm. In two jaw surgery, B point was moved forward 0.65±2.88mm and B´point was moved forward 0.19±3.32mm. In one jaw surgery, relapse rate was 28% at B point and 24% at B´point, whereas in two jaw surgery, relapse rate was 8% at B point and 3% at B´point.
