Considering the serious ill effects of the radioactive iodine (I2) on human health, it is therefore desirable to develop a novel adsorbent for effectively removal of I2. Herein, we reported the synthesis of amine-functionalized ZIF-8 (ZIF8-A) materials with difference amine contents from 15% to 74% by the ligand exchange of 2-methylimidazole with 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole via post-synthetic modification and applied them as adsorbents for I2 capture in n-heptane. Their adsorption performance towards I2 was studied in detail as a function of the contact time, I2 concentration, and reusability. The obtained adsorption equilibrium data were well represented by the Langmuir model and the kinetics were treated with a pseudo-second-order model. A plausible mechanism for the adsorption of I2 on ZIF-8-A adsorbents was proposed by considering the surface complexation and host-guest interaction between Atz ligand and I2 species with electron-transfer from the N atom in the ligand to I atom.

This paper presents an efficient vibration energy harvester with a piezoelectric (PE) cantilever. The proposed PE energy harvester increases the efficiency through minimization of hardware complexity and hence reduction of power dissipation of the circuit. Two key features of the proposed energy harvester are (i) incorporation synchronized switches with a simple control circuit, and (ii) a feed-forward buck converter with a simple control circuit. The chip was fabricated in 0.18 μm CMOS processing technology, and the measured results indicate that the proposed rectifier achieves the efficiency of 77%. The core area of the chip is 0.2 mm2.

<P>A compact low-power on-chip power-on reset circuit with a brown-out detection capability is presented. With a pico-farad-order on-chip MOS capacitor, a long reset time is achieved. A prototype design implemented in a 0.18-μm CMOS process provides a reset signal with duration of hundreds of milliseconds. The embedded brown-out detection circuit can detect the event, as long as the brown-out duration is longer than the millisecond range. The chip consumes only 1 μA under a 1.8-V supply and occupies a 120 μm × 100 μm active area.</P>

This paper presents the applications of spatial interpolation and assimilation methods for satellite and ground meteorological data, including temperature, relative humidity, and precipitation in regions of Vietnam. In this work, Universal Kriging is used for spatially interpolating ground data and its interpolated results are assimilated with corresponding satellite data to anticipate better gridded data. The input meteorological data was collected from 98 ground weather stations located all over Vietnam; whereas, the satellite data consists of the MODIS Atmospheric Profiles product (MOD07), the ASTER Global Digital Elevation Map (ASTER DEM), and the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) in six years. The outputs are gridded fields of temperature, relative humidity, and precipitation. The empirical results were evaluated by using the Root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean percent error (MPE), which illustrate that Universal Kriging interpolation obtains higher accuracy than other forms of Kriging; whereas, the assimilation for precipitation gradually reduces RMSE and significantly MPE. It also reveals that the accuracy of temperature and humidity when employing assimilation that is not significantly improved because of low MODIS retrieval due to cloud contamination.
FGW-FER: Lightweight Facial Expression Recognition with Attention
Huy-Hoang Dinh,Hong-Quan Do,Trung-Tung Doan,Cuong Le,Ngo Xuan Bach,Tu Minh Phuong,Viet-Vu Vu 한국인터넷정보학회 2023 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.17 No.9
The field of facial expression recognition (FER) has been actively researched to improve human-computer interaction. In recent years, deep learning techniques have gained popularity for addressing FER, with numerous studies proposing end-to-end frameworks that stack or widen significant convolutional neural network layers. While this has led to improved performance, it has also resulted in larger model sizes and longer inference times. To overcome this challenge, our work introduces a novel lightweight model architecture. The architecture incorporates three key factors: Depth-wise Separable Convolution, Residual Block, and Attention Modules. By doing so, we aim to strike a balance between model size, inference speed, and accuracy in FER tasks. Through extensive experimentation on popular benchmark FER datasets, our proposed method has demonstrated promising results. Notably, it stands out due to its substantial reduction in parameter count and faster inference time, while maintaining accuracy levels comparable to other lightweight models discussed in the existing literature.

The research aims to investigate the impact levels of determinants on the loyalty of accountants to FDI firms underlying investment management in Thanglong Industrial Park in Hanoi, Vietnam. We conducted a questionnaire consisting of 31 observation variables with a 5-point Likert scale. Independent variables were measured from 1 "without effect" to 5 "strongly". The method of data collection was done through the survey and subjects are accountants in FDI firms doing business in Thanglong Industrial Park in Hanoi. After checking the information on the votes, there are 120 questionnaires with full information for data entry and analysis, This study employs Cronbach's Alpha test, and regression model. The results show that seven determinants including Working environment, The characteristics of working; Training, promotion prospects and development; Income, Personal characteristic, Collective work together and The method of leading had positive relationships with the loyalty of accountants. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given related to such determinants to improve the loyalty of accountants of FDI firms in general and FDI firms in Thanglong Industrial Park in Hanoi in particular. With which, those firms can enhance performance, reduce financial strain, saving on investment in the recruiting process of new staff, increase profitability to ensure investment management.

Erbium-Doped Silicon-Rich Oxide Waveguides Fabricated by Using an Electro-Chemical Method
Pham Van Hoi,Bui Huy,Tran Thi Cham,Ha Xuan Vinh,Do Khanh Van 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.53 No.3
In this article, we describe and electro-chemical method for fabricating erbium-doped silicon-rich oxide (SRO) waveguides. The porosity, the Er-ion concentration and the refractive index can be controlled by varying the current density (continuous or pulsed currents) during the production process. The refractive index difference between the core and the cladding layers and the profile of the SRO waveguides were tested by using an m-line spectrometer and Field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The photo-luminescent (PL) emission of Er-ions at 1550 nm in the SRO waveguides could be obtained even when the excitation wavelength was away from the resonance absorption band of the Er-ions. This result revealed that Er-ions are possibly excited from the ground state 4I15/2 to the first excited state 4I13/2 by energy transfer from excited Si nanocrystallites. The Er-doped SRO waveguides can be applied to optoelectronic devices compatible with Si-based integrated circuit technology.
