미래 사회를 대비하기 위한 개인의 개성을 존중과 창의적인 능력을 지닌 인간을 양성을 목적으로 충청남도 지역의 초 ㆍ 중고등학생들을 대상으로 한 창의력 경연대회가 공주대학교 과학교육연구소에서 개최되었다. 충청남도 초 ㆍ중 ㆍ 고등학생들을 대상으로 실시한 창의력 경연대회는 창조적 아이디어를 내어 스스로 문제를 해결해 나갈 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 제공하는 좋은 기회였음이 확인되었으나, 일부의 팀에서만 참신하고 재미있는 아이디어들이 제안되었다. 여학생의 참가자 수가 상당히 증가하였으며, 대체적으로 입상권의 학생들의 상당 부분이 여학생이라는 것이 특이할만하다. 학년이 올라감에 따라서 창의적인 아이디어를 내는 양이나 질에 있어서 뒤떨어지는 것으로 분석되었으며, 토론 학습의 적응력이 미흡하고 발표력 및 청취력에 있어서도 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 중 ㆍ고등학교의 학교교육에서도 학생들에게 프로젝트형 탐구학습 프로그램의 적용은 물론 토론식 수습을 통한 학생들의 사고의 전환의 기회를 제공해야 할 것으로 사료된다. The creativity competition was held to foster the creativity of elementary and secondary school students in the Institute of Science Education, Kongju national University. It was found that the creativity competition effected on the improvement of inventing creative ideas and problem solving activities. But, only some competitors participated in semifinal and final contests, presented original and interesting ideas. More female students participated in competition than last year. More female participants were awarded a prize than males. Totally, participants were defective in discussion and communication, and presentation and listening ideas. Increasing grades correlated inversely with creativity and originality. There is need of inquiry project teaming programs and presenting opportunities of conversion of thinking by discussing instructions in school

This paper presents the result of a study on the fluid-structure-soil interaction(FSSI) of a port structure under earthquakes. In this analysis, the fluid is modeled by the 4-node element which is a modification of a structural plane elements, and the port structure and foundation is modelled by the plane strain elements. Since the present method directly models the fluid-structure-soil interaction system by finite elements, if can be easily applied to the dynamic analysis of a 2-D port structure with complex geometry. Finally, results of seismic analyses are presented and compared to those of the seismic coefficient and the added mass methods.

카올린으로 부터 수화염기성황산알루미늄을 제조하고, 이것을 탄소열환원질화하여 질화알미늄 분말을 합성하였다. 수화염기성황산알루미늄은 카올린으로 부터 제조된 수화황산알루미나 0.5M 및 요소 5M인 용액으로 부터 얻은 것이 가장 미세하였다. 탄소열환원질화법으로 질화알미늄을 합성할 때 활성화탄과 염기성황산알루미늄의 질량비가 2인 조성이 가장 적합하였으며, 이 때 얻어진 질화알미늄은 0.3-1㎛의 submicron급 분말이었다. Aluminum nitride powder was synthesized by carbothermal reduction-nirtridation using kaolin- derived hydrated basic aluminum sulfate. The hydrated basic aluminum sulfate powder produced from the solution of 0.5M hydrated aluminum sulfate and 5M urea showed very fine particles. The aluminum nitride showed the submicron powder of 0.3-1㎛ in the optimum condition with 2.0-weight ratio of activated charcol to hydrated basic aluminum sulfate.

메티실린 내성 황색포도알균 Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)는 우리나라를 비롯한 전 세계 여러 지역에서 병원 내 감염의 중요한 원인균으로 전 세계 여러 지역에서 위험인자가 전혀 없는 건강한 일반인에서 의지역사회 관련 MRSA (community-associated MRSA, CA-MRSA)에 의한 감염증 보고가증가하고 있다. CA-MRSA감염증은 기존의MRSA감염증과는 구별되는 특징들을 가지는데 임상적으로는 피부 및 연조직 감염증이 흔하고 실험실적으로는 비베타락탐(non-beta lactam)계 항생제에 감수성인 경우가 많아서 국외의 연구와 치료 지침에서는 통상적인 vancomycin 외에 비베타락탐(non-beta lactam)계 항생제 치료를 제시하고 있으며 CA-MRSA에 의한 피부 및 연조직 감염증의 대다수의 환자들은 항생제 사용 없이도 절개와 배농만으로도 임상적 호전을 보인다는 보고가 많아서 적절한 항생제의 사용과 더불어 적극적으로 외과적 배농술을 시행하여야 한다고 권고하고 있다.이러한 기존의 연구 자료와 문헌의 내용을 바탕으로 연자들은 CA-MRSA에 의한 연조직 감염에서 감수성으로 확인된 여러 가지비베타락탐계 항생제로 치료를 시도하였으나 치료에 반응을 보이지 않았고 vancomycin에만 치료에 반응을 보여 vancomycin의 적극적인 투여와 수술적 배액으로 성공적으로 치료한 연조직 감염 1예를 경험하였기에 국내에서도 지역사회획득 메티실린 내성 황색포도알균에 의한 감염 질환이 발생 할 수 있다는 점에 대해서 다시 인식하고 치료에 있어서 vancomycin 투여를 보다 적극적으로 고려하고자 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a prime infection-causing bacterium in various parts including South Korea around the world. Reports are increasing that in various parts of the world, in general people without no risk factors, community-associated MRSA or CA-MRSA infection occurs. CA-MRSA infection symptoms have characteristics different from the existing MRSA infection symptom; clinically, they are characterized by frequent skin and soft-tissue infection, while experimentally, they are sensitive to non-beta lactam antibiotics. Thus, overseas stud iesand treatment guidelines present non-beta lactam antibiotics treatment in addition to the usual vancomycin. Many reports say that most of patients suffering skin and soft-tissue infection due to CA-MRSA have improved clinically only with incision and draina gewithout using antibiotics, thus offering a recommendation that along with appropriate use of antibiotics, surgical drainage should be positively performed. Based on such existing studies, authors attempted to treat soft-tissue infection caused by CA-MRSA, using various non-beta lactam antibiotics as confirmed by such infection, but found that the disease did not respond to such treatment attempts, while it responded only to the treatment by vancomycin. Thus, one case is hereby reported in which, with a positive injection of vancomycin and surgical drain, a successful treatment was achieved in soft-tissue infection. This report also aims to indicate the possibility that in South Korea as well, CA-MRSA-infected diseases may occur, alerting the awareness thereof, and to more positively consider the injection of vancomycin along with literature studies.
Participation of Opioid Pathway in the Central Antinociceptive Effects of Eugenol

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the central antinociceptive effects of eugenol after intraperitoneal administration. Experiments were carried out using male Sprague-Dawley rats. Subcutaneous injection of 5% formalin-induced nociceptive behavioral responses was used as the pain model. Subcutaneous injection of 5% formalin significantly produced nociceptive responses by increasing the licking time during nociceptive behavior. Subsequent intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg/kg of eugenol led to a significant decrease in the licking time. However, low dose of eugenol (50 mg/kg) did not affect the nociceptive behavioral responses produced by subcutaneous injection of formalin. Intrathecal injection of 30 μg of naloxone, an opioid receptor antagonist, significantly blocked antinociceptive effects produced by intraperitoneal injection of eugenol. Neither intrathecal injection of methysergide (30 μg), a serotonin receptor antagonist nor phentolamine (30 μg), an α-adrenergic receptor antagonist influenced antinociceptive effects of eugenol, as compared to the vehicle treatment. These results suggest that central opioid pathway participates in mediating the antinociceptive effects of eugenol.

Cephalic tetanus is a rare subtype of tetanus in which trismus is a charateristic symptom. The paralysis of one or more cranial nerves can occur. The 7th cranial nerve is most frequently involved. It account for 1 to 3% of the tetanus and has a mortality of 15 to 30%. The incubation period is 1 to 14 days, and approximately two thirds of tetanus cases progress to generalized tetanus. Generally, the symptoms of cephalic tetanus can include : facial pain, trismus, dysphagia, muscle twitching spasms of the face and jaw (risus sardonicus), neck stiffness and malaise. We present a case of cephalic tetanus who 54-year male patient had trismus and dysphagia. There was no history of trauma. As there was a delay in diagnosis of cephalic tetanus, respiratory disorder and intermittent general spasm occurred. The patient was treated by injection of antibiotics, muscle relaxant, and human anti-tetanus immunoglobulin. His symptoms were disappeared, and he was discharged ambulatory.
