Evaluation of Polymeric Gene Delivery System Modified with RGD Peptide for Anti-Angiogenesis

We prepared a delivery agent in which RGD peptide is conjugated to low molecular water soluble chitosan (LMWSC) in order to deliver gene to new born blood vessels. Hydrophilic property is added to LMWSC by conjugating PEG to it. The characteristic peak of phenyl group of RGD peptide that appeared at 7.2~7.3 ppm as well as the proton peak of RGD`s carbon chain that appeared at 1.2 ppm proved that LMPR is successfully synthesized. Formation of the complex of the prepared LMWSC-PEG-RGD (LMPR) and genes was confirmed by the particle size measured by TEM and DLS. TEM and DLS measurements confirmed the spherical nanoparticle size of 170 nm which is capable of delivering genes safely. The result of an electrophoresis test confirmed that genes were completely retarded at the conjugation rate of 1:20, and that a complex was formed by complete charge interaction of chitosan`s positive charge. Furthermore, the result of an MTT assay confirmed that is almost non-toxic. The proposed LMWSC-PEG-RGD (LMPR) delivery system has superior potential as a new gene delivery system that induces necrosis and apoptosis of tumor cells and obtains synergistic cancer curing effects.
RecurDyn<SUP>®</SUP>과 LabVIEW<SUP>®</SUP>기반 6축 수직 다관절로봇을 이용한 용접의 효율을 높이는 부가 축의 접목에 대한 연구

This paper aims to realize 2-axis additional axes, which increases processing efficiency of a robot by controlling in harmful environments or design fields beyond human reach. Ultimately, this is to create temporal and efficient profits in industrial processing sites including welding and assembling 6-axis articulated robot (RS2). Also, using RecurDyn<SUP>Ⓡ</SUP>, a simulation-based technique is applied. And the motion paths of the welding rod will be compared for two cases in order to verify the necessity of the 2-axis additional axes: 1) when there are no 2-axis additional axes and 2) when there are 2- axis additional axes during welding using the RS2. For this purpose, the angle variations of RS2 axes required for a simulation are compared, on the assumption that each of the four points of the welding bed installed in the 2-axis additional axes of the welding rod in SolidWorks<SUP>Ⓡ</SUP> is point-welded. Then an actual 2-axis additional axes equipment will be grafted on to RS2 and the process times depending on the existence of 2-axis additional axes are compared using a PC-based robot control program, LabVIEW<SUP>Ⓡ</SUP>. The comparison will imply that grafting a 2-axis additional axes equipment on to a 6-axis articulated robot make it possible to control a robot easily, to decrease the process route and the process time drastically, and to maximize robot efficiency.

NixMgl-xFe₂O₄의 결정학적 구조 및 Mossbauer 효과

Ni?Mg₁??Fe₂O₄spinel ferrite에 대하여 X-선 회절과 Mossbauer 스펙트럼을 조사하였다. X-선 회절상으로부터 Ni?Mg₁??Fe₂O₄는 면심입방구조를 가지는 spinel ferrite임을 확인하였고 Ni 함유량 x가 증가함에 따라 격자상수는 선형적으로 감소하여 8.3750 Å ~ 8.3357 Å의 값을 나타내었다. Mossbaure스펙트럼은 모든 시료가 초미세 자기장에 의한 공명흡수선이 나타나고 Ni 함유량 x가 증가됨에 따라 초미세 자기장은 20K와 300K에서 모두 증가하고 있다. I.S.값이 0.2569mm/sec에서 0.3564mm/sec사이에 존재하는 것으로 ??로 이루어져 있으며, Q.S.값은 x의 조성비에 따른 뚜렷한 변화가 없다.
제주도 토양의 Fe산화물에 관한 Mossbauer 연구

We did research for iron oxide of soil in 3 areas of Cheju island using Mossbauer spectroscopy. X-ray diffractometer and X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. We have not found any trace of iron oxide and soil mineral like goethite, hematite, ferrihydrite because of the limited detection on X-ray diffractometer. But we have confirmed the slight sign of geothite and hematite which belongs to iron of oxide. The result of analysis by X-ray fluorescence spectrometer shows that the rate of quantity of Fe₂O₃in 3 areas is Josuri with 7.69wt%. Odungdong with 10.03wt% and Toepyeoungdong with 11.98wt%. We have learned of the existence of iron oxide and the ratio of ??/?? by Mossbauer spectrum parameter but not by X-ray diffractometer or X-ray fluorescence spectrometer which are not able to detect them. We have confirmed that soil material of 3 areas in cheju island has goethite, hematite, ferrihydrite as well as original mineral at room temperature and at 18K.
Numerical simulation for light extraction in nano-patterned light-emitting diodes.

<P>We present numerical simulation results using the three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method for light extraction in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) constructed on nano-patterned n-GaN substrates. We studied reasonable conditions for numerical calculation, including excitation source conditions, simulation size conditions, and boundary conditions and examined the effects of the size and distribution of nano-patterns on light extraction. Our findings revealed optimized structures for high extraction efficiency. Our simulation results were consistent with our experimental results and show the potential for the design of LED structures optimized for high light extraction.</P>
