Implementation of SVC Video-based Multicasting System Preserving Scalable Security

Scalable video coding (SVC) has been standardized as an extension of the H.264/AVC standard. SVC allows straightforward adaptation of video streams by providing layered bit streams. In this paper, we propose a SVC video-based multicasting system preserving scalable security which is able to provide a SVC video service while maintaining information security. In order to maintain information security between a server and a client during all transmission time, the proposed system immediately performs a packet filtering process without decoding with respect to encrypted data received in a routing device, thereby reducing an amount of calculations and latency.

This paper proposes the step-up forced commutaled cycloconverter. With input reactors ac power acts as current source, and with output capacitors the ballanced three phase output voltages are built up.<br/> The converter is modeled with forth-order state equation using dq transformation and the steady state characteristics are evaluated by the particular solution of the state equation The magnitude of output voltage increases with magnitude of modulation function q and no more increases but decreases above a certain point of q The waveforms of output voltage and input current are sinusoidal and smooth and the magnitude of output voltage can be controlled which is 2-5 times greater than that of input voltage.<br/> Simulations and experiments are performed to verify the characteristics of proposed converter and the results match well theoretical analysis.
Improved FGS Coding System Based on Sign-bit Reduction in Embedded Bit-plane Coding

MPEG-4 FGS is one of scalable video coding schemes specified In ISO/IEC 14496-2 Amendment 2, and particularly standardized as a scheme for providing fine granular quality and temporal scalabilities. In this paper, we propose a sign-bit reduction technique in embedded bit-plane coding to enhance the coding efficiency of MPEG-4 FGS system. The general structure of the FGS system for the proposed scheme is based on the standard MPEG-4 FGS system. The proposed FGS enhancement-layer encoder takes as input the difference between the original DCT coefficient and the decision level of the quantizer instead of the difference between the original DCT coefficient and its reconstruction level. By this approach, the sign information of the enhancement-layer DCT coefficients can be the same as that of the base-layer ones at the same frequency index in DCT domain. Thus, overhead bits required for coding a lot of sign information of the enhancement-layer DCT coefficients in embedded bit-plane coding can be removed from the generated bitstream. It is shown by simulations that the proposed FGS coding system provides better coding performance, compared to the MPEG-4 FGS system in terms of compression efficiency.

<P>To store and retrieve large-scale video data sets effectively, the process of shot-change detection is an essential step. In this paper, we propose an automatic shot-change detection algorithm based on Visual Rhythm Spectrum. The Visual Rhythm Spectrum contains distinctive patterns or visual features for many different types of video effects. For the improvement of detection speed, the proposed algorithm is executed by using the partial data of digital compressed video. The proposed detection algorithm can be universally applied to various kinds of shot-change categories such as scene-cuts and wipes. The developed wipe detector is implemented and tested with real video sequences containing a variety of wipe types and lengths. It is shown by simulations that the proposed detection algorithm outperforms other existing approaches.</P>

동아시아 근대 지식네트워크의 형성 -동아시아 근대 출판의 성립과 이동을 중심으로

Modern times are the age of type media. The invention of type has led to a revolution in printing, and the development of printing has enabled the publication of large amounts of newspaper magazines and books. And based on this, the general public got information and knowledge, and they could express their thoughts. The modern publications in East Asia were in the sea areas, and knowledge was spread and accepted to each area centered on these cities. The acceptance and dissemination of knowledge in the modern East Asia was based on the publication network of Northeast Asia. This paper examines how the publishing network of modern Northeast Asia was formed, focusing on each country in East Asia, and summarizes how the publications produced in this region were moved between the sea cities by referring to previous studies. This is a basic work to examine what role the popularization and industrialization of publications in East Asia since the modern era played in preserving modern knowledge of people in this region and furthermore, how it affected the formation of humanistic networks in Northeast Asia.
