The Anti-cancer Effect of Oriental Medicine Chung-Ri-Ja-Gam-Tang in the Mouse with Metastatic Lung Cancer. Proceedings of International Symposium on East-West Medicine, Seoul. 231-243, 1999.-The oriental medicine Chung-Ri-Ja-Gam-Tang is an herbal medicine which has been used for pulmonary diseases and known as having immune stimulatory effects. It has been known effective in lung cancer. So we studied the effects and the mechanisms of this herbal medicine it the mouse with metastatic lung cancer. The metastatic lung cancer of the mouse was produced with melnoma cell line(B16BL/6).5×10□/mouse tumor cells were injected intravenously to the CDF1 mouse via tail vein. The mice were divided 4 groups. The first group was treated with 50mg/kg extract of Chung-Ri-Ja-Gam-Tang per oral for 10 days after cancer cell injection, second group treated with saline after cancer cell injection, the third group with medicine without cancer cell, and the last group with saline only. After 10 days treatments some of the mice were scarificed and the lung and spleen was removed. The survival duration, weight change, the number of metastatic cancer nodule of the lung, the NK cell activity, the capacity of cytokines(INF-γ,INF-α,IL-2) production and the proliferation activities of mouse lymphocytes were measured. The surival times of the group 1 mice were longer and the weight loss was less than the group 2 significantly. The number of the metastatic nodule of the lung were decresed in the group 1 than the group 2. The production of INF-γ,was increase in group 2 than group 3 and 4, IL-2 production was increased in group 1 than group 2,3,4 significantly. There was no difference in TNF- α production and proliferation activity of lymphocyte in each group. The NK cell activity was significantly increased in group 1 than group 2,3,4. We conclude that the Chung-Ri-Ja-Gam-Tang has the effect of increasing the NK cell activity of the CDF1 mouse with metastatic lung cancer(B16BL/6). And it is suggested that the increased production of the IL-2 is the mechanisms of enhanced NK cell activity.
Effect of Developmental Lead Exposure on the Expression of Hippocampal NMDA Receptor Subunit mRNA

목적: in vivo 및 vitro에서 해마 신경세포의 발생단계별 NMDA 수용체 아단위 mRNA 발현에 대한 연 폭로 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 흰쥐 해마 신경세포의 발생단계별 NMDA 수용체 NR2A, NR2B 아단위 mRNA 발현에 대한 연의 영향은 정상군과 연 폭로군의 출생 후 7일, 14일, 22일 흰쥐의 해마에서 in situ hybridization으로 mRNA 발현 정도를 densitometer로 측정하여 비교하였고, 연과 NMDA 의 세포독성은 해마 신경세포 일차배양 후 도립현미경을 이용한 형태학적인 관찰과 LDH 활성도를 이용하여 측정하였다. 결과: 연 과 NMDA 에 의한 세포독성에 대한 in vitro 실험에서 형태학적 소견과 LDH 활성도에서 해마 미성숙 신경세포와 성숙 신경세포사이의 차이가 있었으므로, 연과 NMDA 독성효과는 해마 신경세포의 발달 단계에 따라 차이가 있다. 정상군의 해마에서의 NR2A mRNA 발현은 출생 후 연령이 증가함에 따라 점진적으로 증가하였으나, NR2B mRNA 발현은 출생 후 연령이 증가함에 따라 점진적으로 증가하였으나 NR2B mRNA 발현은 연령의 증가에 따른 변화가 없었다. 연 폭로에 희한 NR2A mRNA 발현은 유의하게 감소하였으나(p<0.05), NR2B mRNA 발현은 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 만성적 연 폭로는 NR2A를 포함하는 NMDA 수용체를 감소시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 결론: 연은 해마신경세포의 발생단계에서 NMDA 수용체 아단위 특히 NR2A mRNA 발현의 변화를 야기하여 시냅스 신호 전달에 영향을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. Skeletal and dental changes were examined in 38 patients of mandibular prognathism who been treated by a bilateral sagittal split osteotomy(SSRO) and internal fixation using titanium mini-screws. All patients were followed up for over 8 months after the surgeries, and postoperative cephalometric measurements were compared at 2 months and at 8 months. Linear measurements of the “Pog-most posterior screws” and angular measurementsts of “SN-Pog”were compared to figure out the change of bony fragments. The significancy of data were tested by unpaired T-test. The results were as follows : 1. The fixation screws were changed in cephalometric position as little as 0.32 2.51㎜ in SSRO and 0.15 1.00㎜ in SSRO & Le Fort I Osteotomy.(P<0.05) 2. Mandibular set-back over 5㎜ resulted in less stability of the fixation screws and higher relapse tendency. 3. The internal fixation using two screws along the inferior border and one on the superior ridge is considered to be very resistant to postoperative relapse of the repositioned bony segments.

저자들은 쇠고기에 의해 매개된 것으로 추정되는 출혈성 장염 및 이에 합병된 용혈성 요독 증후군 환자 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. We report case of hemolytic uremic syndrome(HUS) associated with hemorrhagic colitis. A 35-year0old man was admitted to a local hospital because of abdominal pain and watery diarrhea which had developed about 6 hours after taking roast beef. He was treated with intravenous fluids and antibiotics, but watery diarrhea changed to bloody in nature from the next day. He was transferred to our hospital due to progressive ascites and jaundice on his 8th day of illness. Examinations revealed ascites, jaundice, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and uremia. Sorbitol-negative Escherichia coli was isolated from his stool, which proved as Shiga-like toxin-negative E. coli, serotype O25. His conditions improved markedly after three times of plasmapheresis and intravenous fluids therapy, and the organism was not isolated from the follow-up stool culture.

With the increase of glooal Competition and the reduction of the lifecycle of business process, most leading companies begin to adopt BPO(Busine5s Process Outsourcing). by outsourcing the whole or part of their business process to external service Providers and focusing on their core capability in order to enhance their core competency In adopting BPO. it IS an important decision-making issue that which part of Process should be outsourced So identifying core/non-core process among the business processes is a prerequisite for managing corporate capability and performance of outsourcing. In this Study, by focusing on knowledge intensity and degree of informatization of the business process that are important factors in adopting BPO we have analyzed the current status of BPO adoption of domestic firms and proposed several guidelines for adopting BPO.

알코올 중독자의 폐렴관리와 같은 건강관리에 필요한 비특이 면역력, 면역기능을 측정하기 위하여 알코올 중독 의존형으로 입원한 신, 구환자군에 대하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 대조군에 대한 알코올 중독증은 MCV, 혈당, ΥGTP를 이용한 생물학적 측정 결과에 의하여 확인 하였으며, 기타 측정 항목은 대조군과 유사한 결과를 나타내었다. 림프구 아형 분석 결과 대조군은 한국인 참고치와 매우 유사하였으며, 실험군 CD4+를 제외한 CD3+, CD8+, CD19+이 감소되었고, CD4+/CD8+ 비율은 통계적으로 유의하게 증가되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 실험군의 면역기능과 림프구 증식능은 대조군에 비하여 현저하게 저하되었으며, 탐식세포 탐식능 및 유주능도 대조군에 비하여 현저하게 감소되었다. 탐식세포의 유주능과 CD4+의 증가, CD4+/CD8+ 비율의 증가와 PHA에 의한 림프구 증식능의 감소 및 CD3+, CD19+ 감소등은 상호관련성을 가지고 일치된 결과를 보여 대조군에 비하여 현저하게 저하된 탐식세포의 탐식기능과 함께 알코올 중독자의 비특이 면역계, 면역기능이 현저하게 저하되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 알코올 중독 의존형으로 입원한 신, 구환자간의 비교분석 결과 총단밸질, 혈색소, 림프구 증식능, 탐식세포 탐식능, 유주능에서 신환자군에 비하여 구환자군이 대조군에 다소 근접되어가는 결과로부터 치료에 따라 숙주의 세포성, 체액성 면역기능이 회복되어가고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 결과 알코올중독자의 비특이적 면역능의 측정을 위한 탐식세포 탐식능, 유주능은 숙주, 미생물측의 활성화 자극인자가 모두 포함된 phagocytic plaque film법에 의하여 측정함이 의의 있는 평가를 할 수 있을 것으로 보며, CD4+/CD8+ 림프구 아형 비율을 이용한 면역기능의 측정은 알코올 중독자의 건강 관리를 위한 면역력 측정에 유용한 방법이라고 생각된다. Alcoholics increased susceptibility to microbial infection that is associated with decreased immunity. but there has been little experimental evidence to support alcoholics-induced increase of microbial infection directly in non-specific immunity. Therefore, we were used the method of phagocytic-plaque including all the stimulating factors for the phagocytosis, subtypes of lymphocytes and T-lymphocyte proliferation. The experimental groups were divided into 3 groups: (1) alcoholics who were hospitalized less than 1 week (newly hospitalized alcoholics), (2) alcoholics who were hospitalized more than 2 weeks (old hospitalized alcoholics), (3) healthy blood donors. We have studied 98 alcoholics and 35 healthy blood donors and control groups. A physician has checked the biological markers and diagnosed the body-condition alcoholics. The immunity and non-specific immunity on the alcoholics were analyzed by using the simultest kit and flow cytometry. Proliferation of the lymphocytes was analyzed by the phytohemmagglutinine mitogen. Phagocytosis and migration properties of leukocytes were identified on the layer formed by Staphylococcus aureus Cowan I strain. Biological markers of alcoholics and control groups, by such as blood glucose, Υ-glutamyl transpeptidase and mean corpuscular volumes of red blood cells, were determined by biochemical and hematological methods. Compared with control groups, cluster of differentiation (CD)3+, CD8+ and CD19+ in alcoholic were more decreased except CD4+/CD8+ ratio. Proliferation of the T-lymphocytes, phagocytosis and migration properties of the leukocytes in alcoholics were decreased compared with those of control groups. According to the results observed in our experiment, they can be summerized as follows: 1. Cellular, humoral and non-specific immunities, are markedly decreased in alcoholics than those in control groups. 2. It is inferred that Phagocytic plaque formation is a very useful method to evaluate phagocytosis and migration properties of the alcoholic leukocytes 3. It is thought that the subtypes of lymphocytes, especially CD4+/CD8+ ratio, are essential methods to analyzed the alcoholic immunity. 4. Specific and non-specific immunity on the old hospitalized alcoholics was slightly increased, which depends upon the alcoholic medication.
