Muscle fatigue is a symptom that decreases your muscles’ ability to perform over time. It can be associated with a state of exhaustion, often following excessive sports activity or exercise. While exercise is a common cause of muscle fatigue, this symptom can be the result of other health conditions. Muscle fatigue caused by excessive activity limits activities of daily living and difficult to maintain a stable posture. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of stretching, icing, and sports massage on muscle fatigue recovery.

Abstract – Aberrant crypt foci (ACF) are early imorphological changes observed in rodents after administration of colon-specific carcinogen such as azoxymethane (AOM). ACF are considered to be putative preneoplastic lesions and are widely used as a surrogate biomarker to rapidly evaluate chemopreventive potential of compounds. The size of colorectal cancer was evaluated after administration of three anticancer drugs, 1 parent drug and 2 prodrugs. The body weights of mice were measured daily and considered as a surrogate for evaluation of general wellbeing. Colons were removed, cut along the longitudinal axis and flushed with phosphate-buffered saline. Each colon was cut into three equal lengths and fixed flat between filter papers. The fixed colon sections were stained with methylene blue. The number of ACF per colon, the number of aberrant crypts observed in each focus and the location of each focus were recorded. After single administration of AOM and multiple doses of anticancer drugs, no significant changes in the body weights of the mice was observed which was recorded for 52 days. However, an expected ACF was not observed in any treated groups. These findings suggest the induction of ACF in mice requires the promotion by dextran sulfate sodium as well as the initiation by AOM.

The purpose of this study was to analyze risk of falls between elderly people and college students. The subjects of this study were 25 people aged 70 years or older and 17 college students located in Asan. We measured sensory, integrated balance, nervous, musculoskeletal system and HQR by FRA system (Inbody, Korea). The results of measurement showed significant differences in sensory system (p<.01), integrated balance (p<.001), nervous system (p<.001), and musculoskeletal system (p<.001) between groups. These results suggest that aging makes difference of function of these systems. In our view, counterplans need to be implemented, including exercise intervention to prevent decreases of fall risk,

The present study investigates the use of lexical bundles in Korean EFL teacher talk. In particular, it examines the quantitative and qualitative features of lexical bundles in a native and non-native teachers’ classroom talk corpus. The corpus of the study consists of a total of 247,398 words complied through 62 hours of recording of EFL classes. The key lexical bundles of the study were extracted using WordSmith 6.0 to conduct frequency, functional and structural analyses. The results of the frequency analysis showed the non-native English teachers’ repeated use of a limited number of lexical bundles which inflated the total number of usages. The functional analysis of the lexical bundles showed that the non-native English teachers relied heavily on a narrow range of functional categories, e.g., stance expressions and referential expressions. Further, the results of the functional analysis clearly indicate that the EFL teacher corpus possesses certain repetitive tendencies in both conversational and academic discourse. The examination of the over-, exclusive, and under-use of lexical bundles demonstrates that not only quantitative but also qualitative differences exist in lexical bundle preferences between the native and the nonnative teachers.
Physicochemical properties of cherry tomato dried by combined drying process using superheated steam

Physicochemical properties of cherry tomato dried using the conventional hot air (HA) and superheated steam (SHS) combined with either HA or far-infrared (FIR) were measured to evaluate the effects of combined drying process on the product quality. Conventional HA drying caused the greater extent of water removal than that of SHS combined with HA or FIR due to comparatively its longer drying time, resulting the lower water activity. Total acidity of cherry tomato produced by combined drying processes was slightly lower than that of conventional HA drying. Application of SHS combined with FIR resulted in higher retention of vitamin C and lycopene content with faster rehydration capacity than those of both conventional HA and SHS with HA drying. These results suggested that SHS combined with FIR would replace the conventional HA drying process successfully in production of dried cherry tomato with appropriate quality characteristics
Influence of Positional Changes of Arms and Legs to Electrocardiogram
Joo-Eun Song,Min-Ju Song,Ye-Sul Kim,Ha-Nuel Yang,Ye-Jin Lee,Dongju Jung 대한의생명과학회 2018 Biomedical Science Letters Vol.24 No.1
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a widely used method to diagnose electrical activity of heart. Although it is a reliable and easy method, ECG could be interfered by electrical signals. One of the interfering signals is electromyogram (EMG) that is caused by muscle contraction in any parts of the body except heart. To avoid the EMG noise, an examinee is advised to be relaxed on supine position while measuring ECG. Sometimes, patients who can"t put their arms and legs down on bed due to some reasons such as cast on arms or legs necessarily have the EMG noise. But detailed information about how much of the noise could be induced by positional change of arms and legs has not been reported. Here we examined the noise by analyzing ECG data from 14 candidates, 7 males and 7 females. The ECG data was obtained using the standard 12 lead ECG. EMG noise was induced by raising arms and legs at 90°, 60° or 30°. Because arms are located close to the heart, noise by the raised arms was analyzed toward left or right arm separately. All of the examinees showed similar pattern of the EMG noise. EMG noise by positional change of left or right arm was clearly monitored in different limb leads. Change of leg positions induced the noise that was monitored in aVF of augmented leads and II and III of limb leads. There was a difference in degree of the noise between male and female examinees. In addition to the EMG noise, decrease of PR interval was monitored in particular positional changes, which was prominent in male examinees. These results will enlarge fundamental understanding about EMG noise in ECG.

A 70-year-old female was referred for brown-to-gray colored papules and nodules on her lower legs. She had been diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in her stomach, and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) by bone marrow biopsy. Three years after complete remission of DLBCL, she experienced DLBCL recurrence in her small bowel and was hospitalized. MDS had been stationary, but during the treatment of DLBCL, her laboratory findings suggested signs of leukemia. Bone marrow biopsy was done, and acute monoblastic leukemia (AMoL) was diagnosed. After 1 cycle of chemotherapy for AMoL, skin lesions developed, and her skin biopsy showed cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase staining and CD123 staining were negative, and bone marrow re-biopsy conducted after the skin lesion developed still showed monoblastic proliferation. Whether the CTCL represented with an AMoL lineage switch could not be completely proved due to the absence of molecular or clonal marker evaluations, but the possibility of coexistence of three different malignancies was higher. During treatment, a neutropenic fever developed, and the patient died due to sepsis. We herein report a rare case of CTCL accompanied by AmoL and DLBCL. (Ann Dermatol 33(2) 178∼181, 2021)
