        인간과 기계의 네 번째 공존방식 - 인지공학이 인문학에 길을 묻다

        Since Klaus Schwab mentioned the keyword of the fourth industrial revolution in the Davos Forum, revolutionary changes have occurred in all areas, ranging from information communication, manufacturing, transportation, finance, healthcare, education, and military. While these changes are anticipated to be a positive change in technological productivity and enhance the convenience of human life, there is also a significant downside to the anticipated problems of job insecurity and the dangers of military abuse. In particular, the innovative development of artificial intelligence due to deep-learning techniques implies serious social problems as they begin to replace much of human intelligence. In this paper, we discussed the role of the humanities in terms of both artificial intelligence and its social influence and its underlying trends, and discussed the role of humanities.

        Anti-Proliferative Effects of Evodiamine in Human Lung Cancer Cells

        Evodiamine, a compound isolated from the Evodia rutaecarpa Bentham (Rutaceae), is known to have a potential anti-proliferative activity in human cancer cells. However, the growth inhibitory activity against lung cancer cells and the underlying molecular mechanisms have been poorly determined. The present study was designed to examine the anti-proliferative effect of evodiamine in A549 human lung cancer cells. Methods: A549 cells were treated with the compounds from Evodia rutaecarpa, and the anti-proliferative activity was evaluated by the sulforhodamine B assay. The mechanisms of action for the growth inhibitory activity of evodiamine on A549 human lung cancer cells were evaluated using flow cytometry for cell cycle distribution, and Western blot for assessment of accumulation and phosphorylation of potential target proteins. Results: Evodiamine exhibited a potent anti-proliferative activity against A549 human lung cancer cells. Flow cytometric analysis revealed that evodiamine induced cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase and apoptosis in the A549 cells. The cell cycle arrest was well correlated with the inhibition of cyclin B1, cyclin A, cdk2 and p-cdc2 (Tyr15) and increase of p-chk1 (Ser345) and p-chk2 (Thr68). Evodiamine also significantly increased the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2 and decreased procaspase-3, suggesting evodiamine- induced apoptosis via the intrinsic apoptotic pathway. In addition, evodiamine inhibited the expression of p-ERK and ERK. Conclusions: These findings suggest that the anti-proliferative effect of evodiamine was associated in part with the induction of G2/M phase cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, and down-regulation of ERK in human lung cancer cells.

        Induction of Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis by Physcion, an Anthraquinone Isolated From Rhubarb (Rhizomes of Rheum tanguticum), in MDA-MB-231 Human Breast Cancer Cells

        Background:Physcion is an anthraquinone from rhubarb (rhizomes of Rheum tanguticum) and has been reported to haveanti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antifungal, and anti-cancer activities. However, the growth inhibitory activity against human cancercells and the underlying molecular mechanisms have been poorly determined. This study was designed to investigate the anti-proliferativeactivity of physcion by induction of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in human MDA-MB-231 triple negative breast cancer cell line. Methods:MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with physcion, and the anti-proliferative activity was evaluated by the sulforhodamine B assay. The mechanisms of action for the growth inhibitory activity of physcion were evaluated by flow cytometry for cell cycle distribution,and by Western blot for the assessment of potential target proteins. Results:Physcion showed a significant anti-proliferative activity against MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells. Flow cytometric analysisindicated that physcion markedly induced the accumulation of cells in the G0/G1 phase and the increase of cell population in the sub-G1phase. The G0/G1 cell cycle arrest by physcion was associated with the down-regulation of Cyclin D1, Cyclin A, CDK4, CDK2, c-Mycand phosphorylated Rb protein expressions. The increase of sub-G1 peak by physcion was closely correlated with the induction ofapoptosis,which was confirmed by the induction of cleaved poly-(adenosine diphosphate ribose) polymerase, activation of Caspases, and suppressionof Bid and Bcl-2 expression. Conclusions:The induction of G0/G1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis might be one of the plausible mechanisms of actions for theanti-proliferative activity of physcion in human breast cancer cells.

      • 당뇨병 돋보기 II-당뇨병성 급성 합병증-케톤산증

        당뇨병환자에서 발생하는 가장 중요한 급성 합병증인 당뇨병성 케톤산증이나 고삼투성 비케톤성 혼수는 인슐린의 투여를 중단하였거나 감염, 외상 등의 신체적 손상이나 정신적 스트레스에 의하여 인슐린에 대한 길항 호르몬들이 과분비돼 발생한다. 일반적으로 당뇨병성 케톤산증은 인슐린 의존형 당뇨병환자 중 주로 젊은 층에서 자주 나타나며 병의 경과가 빠르게 진행되기 때문에 고삼투압 상태보다는 케톤산혈증이 주요 문제가 된다. 반면에 고삼투압성 비케톤성 혼수는 인슐린 비의존형 당뇨병환자 중 주로 노인층에서 호발하며 병의 경과가 서서히 진행하기 때문에 심한 고혈당 상태로 인한 고삼투압 상태가 주요 문제가 된다. 이와같은 당뇨병의 급성 대사성 합병증들은 치료가 지연되거나 적절한 치료가 행해지지 못했을 때는 예후가 극히 불량하며 사망률 또한 높은 것으로 보고되고 있다. 이에 급성 대사성 합병증 중 당뇨병성 케톤산증의 병인, 진단 및 치료 등을 알아보기로 한다.

        Does Europe Matter in the European Electoral Arena? Populist Radical Right Party Support in the 2014 European Elections

        The unprecedented surge of populist radical right (PRR) parties across Europe is one of the most striking outcomes of the 2014 European Parliament (EP) elections. To understand this phenomenon, this study attempts to identify the motivations underlying the PRR party support by simultaneously considering the three core ideologies of PRR parties (ethno-nationalism, authoritarianism and populism) and the two types of voting behaviour in EP elections (sincere voting and protest voting). At the same time, assuming that PRR party voters in EP elections could not be homogeneous when taking into consideration their vote choice in the previous national parliament election, it also examines the extent to which the motivation for PRR party support were different between the two types of PRR voters (PRR consistent voters and PRR switching voters). By analysing voting behaviour in Western European countries in which PRR parties were particularly successful in 2014, this study demonstrates that PRR voters in the 2014 EP elections were indeed motivated by European concerns and that they behaved differently according to their vote choice in the previous national parliament election. The results imply that the existing literature based on the ‘second-order election (SOE)’ model has some limitations with regard to fully explaining voting behaviour in EP elections and that PRR voters in EP elections are not a homogeneous group.

        집단 수퍼비전에서 수퍼바이지로서의 경험

        This study examined supervisee's experience in group supervision. The grounded theory by Strauss and Corbin's(1998) was adopted to elucidate the structure of their experiences. In-depth interviews with 10 counselors were collected for the analysis data. We deduced 127 concepts, 57 subcategories and 23 categories from the analysis and finally derived a paradigm model. The central phenomenon was ‘learning by exposing oneself and facing with problems in spite of the fear of evaluation’. We discussed the implication of the findings and suggested future research issues for a group supervision. 본 연구는 집단 수퍼비전에서 수퍼바이지로서의 경험을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 1년 이내에 집단 수퍼비전에서 사례발표를 경험한 상담심리사 1급 자격증을 소지한 10명을 심층면담하고 질적 연구 방법 중의 하나인 근거이론방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 127개의 개념, 57개의 하위범주, 23개의 범주가 도출되었다. 중심 현상으로는 ‘부담을 느끼지만, 나를 드러내 놓고 부딪히며 배워나감’으로 밝혀졌으며 이를 중심으로 참여자들의 경험에 관한 패러다임 모형이 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 집단 수퍼비전에서 수퍼바이지로서의 경험의 실체를 논의하였으며 나아가 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 하였다. 본 연구는 한국의 사회․문화적 맥락에서 이루어지고 있는 집단 수퍼비전에 관한 실제적인 이해를 도운 점에 그 의의가 있다.

        Depth perception enhancement based on chromostereopsis in a 3D display

        This study was conducted to enhance the cubic effect by representing an image with a sense of three-dimensional (3D) depth,using chromostereopsis, among the characteristics of human visual perception. An algorithm that enhances the cubic effect,based on the theory that the cubic effect of the chromostereoptic effect and the chromostereoptic reversal effect depends on the lightness of the background, classifies the layers of the 3D image input into the foreground, middle, and background layers according to the depth of the image input. It suits the characteristics of human visual perception because it controls the color factor that was adaptively detected through experiments on each layer; and it can achieve an enhanced cubic effect that is suitable for the characteristics of the image input.
