According to the research, the report related traffic accident statistics of elderly occupants in 2009 that was published by Samsung Traffic Safety Research Institute, the injury risk of elderly is higher than the people aged 25 to 54. Especially, the elderly occupants exposed higher risk in thorax, head and abdomen. The thoracic injury risk is 2.6 times higher than other ages. And the head injury is 1.3 times higher and abdomen injury is 1.9 times higher. Currently, Hybrid Ⅲ 50%tile dummies are utilized by the safety standards and regulation test of the frontal impact. However, the Hybrid Ⅲ 50%tile dummy is limited to predict the thoracic injury of the elderly occupants. So we have modified the thorax part of Hybrid Ⅲ 50%tile dummy to predict the thoracic characteristic of elderly.

This study was initiated to improve of the defect investigation method using event data recorders (EDR) and suggested a solution through the regulation and system analysis of EDR. The EDR data has been used for various purposes such as the vehicle defect investigation and the traffic accident investigation. However the EDR regulation has not been updated since the implementation in 2012. "Trigger Threshold" can be used to analyze a single accident such as the frontal crash, the side crash, and the rollover. In the case of a complex accident in which a rollover accident and a crash accident occur simultaneously, it is difficult to analyze a complex accident due to current "Trigger Threshold". This study proposed the method of separating the "Trigger Threshold" into a crash accident and a rollover accident so that accidents can be analyzed using the EDR data even when a complex accident occurs. In addition, it proposed the improvement method to quickly use the data of EDR in accident reconstruction software.

In this study, we conducted sled tests for five types of CRS attachment method. The purpose of the test is to compare the safety performance(characteristics) for each case of various attachment methods. Sled tests were conducted for rigid bar and 리exible attachment, and the combination of top tether. And we also conducted the test for conventional attachment method of CRS with 3-point adult belt. The test results show that the new attachment system has a better safety performance than conventional attachment system. And we can also confirm the effect of top tether and rigid bar or flexible attachment.<br/>

As train-to-pedestrian or railway yard worker collision accidents over 200 cases occurs every year and the train accidents cause very serious injuries with high fatalities. The development of lifesaving equipment is essential to protect workers and passers. The lifesaving equipment is countermeasures to reduce injury at train-to-human type collision accident. This paper presents concept of lifesaving equipment of metro. Also its influence was evaluated in simulation by MADYMO and test. Lifesaving equipment is effective to reduce injury at train-to-human collision type accident.
