        불임유우의 혈청화학치에 관한 연구

        To make index on therapy or releasing from dairy holstein cows of reproductive disorder the levels of serological sex hormones and total ALP, GOT, GPT, and serum protein were measured. The results obtained through the experiments are summarized as follows; 1. The levels of FSH and estradiol in reproductive disorder group were singnificantly higher and lower than those in pregnant group and control group, respectively. (p<0.05) 2. The level of prolactin was showed mild difference in three groups and that of progesterone was reasonably higher in pregnant group with significance (p<0.05). 3. The activity of GPT was significantly higher and that of GOT was showed higher in reproductive disorder group, respectively (p<0.05) 4. The level of total ALP was higher in reproductive disorder group, however no difference was showed between pregnant and control group. 5. The level of serum protein was followed as control, pregnant, and reproductive disorder with insignificance.

        조기 발병 근시를 가진 환아에서 약시 발생의 위험인자

        Purpose: To investigate the prognosis and risk factors for amblyopia in myopic children under four years of age. Methods: Forty-eight children with cycloplegic refractive error of ≥ 5.00 diopters (spherical equivalent) in each eye. Age < 4 years old at the time of the first visit, and follow-up until the patient was > 8 years old were enrolled. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and refractive errors were evaluated serially over 8 years old. The presence of strabismus was identified through use of the alternating cover test and examination of duction and version test. The children were divided into 2 groups according to BCVA at 8 years. A BCVA worse than 20/25 in either eye was considered as the presence of amblyopia. Results: Amblyopia was detected in 20 out of 48 (41.7%) patients. In amblyopia group had a high rate of male children. The refractive error was similar in amblyopic and non-amblyopic children at both 4 and 8 years of age. Strabismus (exotropia and esotropia) was more common in the amblyopia group. A significant correlation was found between refractive errors at 4 years of age and BCVA at 8 years of age (Spearman rho=0.417, p=0.009). BCVA at 4 years of age was also strongly correlated with BCVA at 8 years of age (Spearman rho=0.517, p=0.001). Conclusions: Early onset myopic children who have strabismus or early onset myopic boys may develop amblyopia.

        녹내장의 진단 경로

        목적: 녹내장 환자들이 어떤 경로를 통해서 녹내장을 진단 받게 되는지 알아보고자 한다. 대상과 방법: 본원에서 녹내장을 처음 확진 받은 환자 484명(여 223명, 남 261명, 평균 나이 55.3세)을 대상으로 어떤 경로로 녹내장을 진단 받았는지 의무기록을 조사하였다. 진단 경로는 1) 녹내장 관련 증상 때문에 발견된 경우(안압 상승 관련 통증 또는 시각 증상이 녹내장 외에 다른 이상에 의해서 설명되지 않을 때), 2) 다른 증상 때문에 안과를 방문했다가 우연히 발견된 경우, 3) 건강검진에서 발견된 경우, 4) 녹내장 가족력 때문에 본인이 검사를 원한 경우로 나누었고, 안과진료와 건강검진에서 녹내장을 의심하게 된 이유는 1) 시신경유두 이상, 2) 높은 안압, 3) 두 가지 모두로 구분하였다. 결과: 녹내장 진단경로는 관련 증상 때문에 발견된 경우 11.8%, 안과에서 우연히 발견된 경우 74.2%, 건강검진에서 발견된 경우 12.4%, 본인이 원해서 발견된 경우 1.7%의 분포를 보였다. 안과진료와 건강검진에서 녹내장을 의심하게 된 이유는 시신경유두 이상 84.2%, 높은 안압 15.8%였고, 그중 7.4%는 시신경유두 이상과 높은 안압이 동반된 경우였다. 결론: 녹내장을 진단 받게 되는 가장 흔한 경로는 안과진료와 건강검진을 통한 시신경유두검사였다. 녹내장의 조기 진단을 위해서 정기적인 안과진료를 통한 시신경유두의 자세한 검사가 중요할 것으로 생각한다. Purpose: To evaluate the events leading to a diagnosis of glaucoma. Methods: Medical records of 484 subjects (223 women, 261 men, mean age, 55.3 years) who visited a glaucoma clinic without previous glaucoma diagnosis were reviewed. Events were classified into: 1) glaucoma-related symptoms, such as ocular pain accompanied by intraocular pressure elevation or visual disturbance without other ocular abnormalities except glaucoma, 2) ocular examination by an ophthalmologist for other symptoms, 3) routine health examination, or 4) patient request due to family history of glaucoma. Ocular findings that suggested glaucoma and led to detailed glaucoma assessment were classified as: 1) an optic disc abnormality, 2) high intraocular pressure, or 3) both. Results: Events that led to the diagnosis of glaucoma were glaucoma-related symptoms in 11.8%, examination by an ophthalmologist in 74.2%, routine health examination in 12.4%, and family history in 1.7% of subjects. Findings that suggested glaucoma in ocular and routine health examinations were an optic disc abnormality in 84.2% and high intraocular pressure in 15.8%, both of these findings were found in 7.4% of subjects. Conclusions: The most common path to glaucoma diagnosis was optic disc assessment by an ophthalmologist and routine health examination. To facilitate early detection of glaucoma, regular detailed optic disc evaluation by an ophthalmologist should be emphasized.

        돼지 써코바이러스 2형의 진단을 위한 PCR법 적용

        Porcine circovirus (PCV) is a small, nonenveloped virus that contains a single-stranded circular DNA genome of about 1.76kb and belongs to the family circoviridae. The PCV-2 has been incriminated as the cause of post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome(PMWS), an emerging disease in pigs. In the present study, a PCR assay was applied to detect PCV-2 in tissue samples. The presence of PCV-2 antigen in the porcine tissues was confirmed by indirect immunofluorescence(IIF) with PCV-2 specific monoclonal antibodies. And then DNA extracted from PCV-2 positive tissues was used as a template. One oligonucleotide primer suitable for PCR was selected from a published PCV-2 sequence(Genbank). Amplified PCR product was detected the same fragment lengths of 416bp as a control. Based on these results, it was suggested that the PCR is a simple and sensitive method for support diagnostic purposes.

        당진지역 돼지생식기호흡기증후군(PRRS) 항체가 조사

        The purpose of this study was sero-epidemiological survey of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrom(PRRS) in Dangjin area. 411 samples from 26 pig farms were analyzed by enzyme linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA). The data indicate that 66% of the pigs and 92% of the farms showed sero-positives to the PRRS virus. Sows showed 58% of sero-positive rate and fattening pigs showed 85% of sero-positive rate. The rate of sero-positive in boars was 63%. No significant regional differences were detected in sero-epidemiological survey.

      • 무방류식 자연발효화장실에서 배양가능한 혐기성 세균

        혐기성 소화 방식으로 분뇨를 처리하는 무방류식 자연발효화장실의 혐기성 세균을 연구하기 위하여 모형 화장실을 제작 가동하면서 혐기성 소화가 일어나는 발효조의 분뇨를 채취하여 모두 19개의 혐기성 세균 균주를 순수 배양하였다. 이들에 대하여 생화학적 특성을 조사하였으며 이를 기초로 한 표현형적 동정과 이와 동시에 165 rRNA 유전자의 염기서열 분석으로 동정을 실시하였다. 19개의 분리균주 가운데 3개는 분뇨의 주성분인 탄수화물 분해능이 거의 없었으며, 8개는 15℃에서도 생장 가능하였다. 표현형 및 유전자 동정이 모두 실시된 10개의 균주가 동일한 동정 결과가 나타난 것은 하나도 없었다. 유전자 동정 결과 9개가 Low G+C gram-positive bacteria 즉 Bacillus/Clostridium group에 속하였으며 이 가운데 8개가 Enterococcus 속이었다. The model human manure digestion tank without effluent was constructed and operated for studying anaerobic bacteria participating in anaerobic digestion of human manure. A total of 19 anaerobic bacterial pure isolates were obtained from human manure samples in the digestion chamber. Their phenotypic characteristics were examined by various biochemical tests, by which the isolates were identified. In addition. their genotppic identification were carried out by the 16s rDNA base sequence analysis. Three culturable isolates did not ferment carbohydrate compounds which are main constituents of human manure. Eight isolates grew at 15-C. None of ten showed the same identification results by phenotypic and genotypic tests. The 16s rDNA base sequence analyses showed that nine isolates of ten belong to Low G+C gram-positive bacteria, and eight of which belong to genus Enterococcus.

      • 한우의 간이물질 대사효소의 활성도

        It is important to study the activity of drug biotransformation enzymes, because from a pharmacological and therapeutic point of view these enzymes are resposible for eliminating most drugs. Their level is ciritical when deciding the dose regimen. (From a toxicological perspective, the role of these enzymes varies, with some of them being directly responsible for activation of certain chemicals to reactive intermediates with deleterious consequence to the animal.) Experiments were designed to measure in vitro, the activity of drug metabolizing enzymes in liver of Korean native cattle. The microsomal monooxygenase activities were evaluated utilizing specific substrates. The activities of BPDM and TST 6β-hydroxylase were seemed to be high level relatively to other monooxygenzses such as ECOD, EROD and AH. Interestingly, TST 16α-hydroxylase which is a maker enzyme for CYP ⅠLA was not detected in Korean native cattle. These results sugest that Korean native cattle have high contents of CYP IIB1 and CYP IIIA.

      • 경주마에서 Naproxen 및 대사산물의 검출

        Naproxen(NPX) was administrered to a throrougbred mare in a single oral does. Plasma and urine samples were collected from 1 hour to 144 hours after administration, at varying intervals. The alkali hydrolysis was used for the seperation of glucuronide from the conjugated naproxen and its metabolite in urine. Naproxen and its metabolite desmethylnaproxen (DesNPX) were extracted at pH 4.0 with DCM/ETHETR/HEXAN(1/1/1, v/v/v) and quantitated by HPLC with diode-array-detector. The wavelength of ultraviolet was 235, 254 and 264 nm. The qulification of NPX and DesNPX was performed by gas-chromatograph-mass spectrometry using DB-1 column. Silylation (BSTFA including 1% TMCS) before the analysis of the extracted residue with GC/MSD was carried out for the detection of this drug and its metabolite. The characteristic ions (m/e) of trimethyl Silyated NPX and DesNPX were 73, 185, 302 and 73, 243, 360, respectively.
