There have been increasing necessities for quality improvement, cost saving, safety guarantee and construction-period reduction along with the trends of complication, specialization and magnification in the domestic construction market. In particular, in order to secure enterprises' competitiveness of domestic construction companies, it is required to realize substantial productivity improvement upon which they could flexibly respond to the rapid change of external environment. Under the context, the study attempts, as an alternative to the improvement of construction productivity; 1) to investigate and understand the existing field management work and operation system at the selected apartment construction sites, 2) to analyze their problems and obstacles and 3) to extract some policy/program suggestions for the efficient field management.

최근 여성의 전문분야 진출이 괄목할만한 변화를 이루고 있다. 인류 역사이래 종교적, 문화적 이유로 남녀 차별 관행이 오래 지속되어 왔으나, 지난 수세기에 걸친 여권운동으로 남녀간의 인간적, 인격적 평등은 물론이고 사회적으로도 대등한 역할이 주어지고 있다. 우리나라의 경우도 지속적인 의식의 변화와 개선을 통해 적어도 제도상으로는 남녀의 차별이 거의 사라진 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이에 여성이 다양한 분야로 진출하면서 여성의 직업에 대한 영역도 확대되고 있다. 이러한 여성 진출영역의 확대는 건설업계에 있어서도 여성의 비율이 점차 확대되고 있으며, 대학의 전공선택에 있어서도 여성의 비율이 점차 확대되고 있다. 따라서 여성 설계인력의 업무수행능력을 분석하고 이에 대한 향상방안을 모색하는 것은 여성의 사회기여도를 높일 뿐만 아니라 국가와 기업의 경쟁력을 높이기 위해서도 매우 중요하다고 볼 수 있다. The purpose of this study was to analyze Investigation of Women’s Work Performance in Design Stage. Today’s domestic construction industry characterizes the increase of women’s activities and responsibilities. Large portion of design works are occupied with women engineers, and the number of women’s portion increases as the construction project becomes large. This paper analyzes the capability of women engineers in design works and identifies the various situations that hinder women’s working environment. Also, administrative and organizational strategies are proposed to improve women’s work performance and contribution to the construction industry.
Ensuring Economic Benefits of Mitigation Projects for Improving the Image of Construction Industry

Over the last several decades, the United States has experienced a great number of natural disasters. To minimize the impact of the natural hazard events, the U.S. government spent a tremendous amount of money through federal assistant programs. To be eligible for the programs, a mitigation project must be cost effective (more benefits compared to project costs). However, the state and local communities suffering from the natural disasters generally have difficulty in collecting reliable evidence for their damages which can be converted later into benefits when a mitigation project is implemented. Therefore, this paper shows the process of conducting a benefit cost analysis with limited data. Besides, it also provides how to apply the limited data to the analysis through a case study. Consequently, this paper help state and local communities get funding from the federal government, which in turns will improve the image of construction industry by preventing people from natural disasters.

This paper presents the safety performance of domestic small-sized construction companies including the characteristic and current status of safety management actions of the firms. Safety performance both at the head office and job sites of each construction companies, which are divided two groups by construction capacity ranking, are investigated. The investigation results on the small-sized construction companies in this study was compared with those of on the large and medium-sized construction companies studied in existing papers. General recognition that there is a wide difference of safety performance among domestic construction companies by construction capacity ranking was confirmed by this study. Especially, Data analysis shows that the safety performance of the small-sized companies has the larger difference than large and midium-sized companies.
경년별 총비용을 고려한 공동주택의 리모델링 시기 추정에 관한 연구

Although the life-spans of most apartment buildings are over fifty years, they are often demolished and retrofitted only after twenty years, in spite of its remaining life expectancy, resulting in economical waste. The purpose of this paper is to estimate optimum remodeling period of apartment buildings using total cost. In this study it is seen that total sum of running cost of life-span on the buildings is about 4.69 times of initial cost till the fifty years of the life expectancy. The optimum remodeling period of the apartment building is thirty years applying the discount rate of $4.17\%$ and the discount rate should be $6.122\%$ to obtain the forty years of the optimum remodeling period. From the sensitivity analysis based on the change of the discount rates, it is seen that if discount rate decreases the optimum remodeling period can be extended, or vice versa. As a result, a time of the demolished and remodeling can be expected and the basic data can also be established for lengthening life-span of the apartment buildings. 일반적으로 공동주택의 수명은 50년이지만, 보통 20년이 경과하면 철거되거나 재건축되어 경제적인 낭비를 초래하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 LCC이론을 기초로 초기투자비와 경과년수에 따른 유지관리비용의 합이 최소가 되는 시점을 추정 $\cdot$ 분석하여 공동주택의 적정 리모델링 시기를 도출함을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 보면 내용년수 50년까지의 건축물의 생애 총유지관리비용의 합은 초기투자비의약 4.69배가 되고, 공동주택의 적정 리모델링 시기는 할인율 $4.17\%$를 적용했을 경우 30년으로 파악되었으며 서울시에서 발표한 법정허용년수인 40년이 경제수명으로 설정되려면 할인율은 $6.122\%$가 설정되어야 한다. 또한 할인율 변동에 따른 민감도 분석결과 할인율이 감소할 경우 적정 리모델링 시기는 연장되며, 증가할 경우 단축되는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구의 결과는 공동주택의 철거 또는 재건축 시기를 예측할 수 있으며, 보수 및 대수선의 적절한 시기를 예측하여 공동주택의 수명을 최대한 연장시킬 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
