The phase transition temperatures and thermodynamic properties of (NH4)2MnCl4∙2H2O grown by the slow evaporation method were studied using differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. A structural phase transition occurred at temperature TC1 (=264 K), whereas the changes at TC2 (=460 K) and TC3 (=475 K) seemed to be chemical changes caused by thermal decomposition. In addition, the chemical shift and the spin-lattice relaxation time T1ρ were investigated using 1H magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR), in order to understand the role of NH4+ and H2O. The rise in T1ρ with temperature was related to variations in the symmetry of the surrounding H2O and NH4+.
「-的」の連用修飾用法 ―「比較的」の語幹連用用法(「-的+φ+ 被修飾語」形式)を中心に―

“-的(-teki)”has often been called as an adjective verb in many theses and dictionaries until this time, but it has a unique form of adverbial usage(“-teki+φ+modificand”, “stem form of adverbial usage”) as an adjective verb; an adjective verb usually does not have that form. To find the basis of this difference between “-的(-teki)” and an adjective verb, I inquired into certain words which have the stem form of adverbial usage(“-teki+φ+modificand”) by considering them in connection with their transition in Meiji and Modern Japanese. The results of this analysis are as follows:There is a certain inclining to or a restriction on syntactic usage of “-的(-teki)”, which is caused by the meaning of its stem. And this inclining or restriction causes the stem form of adverbial usage(“-teki+φ+modificand”). For example, a restriction on syntactic usage of “比較的Hikaku-teki” is caused by its meaning of stem, “比較Hikaku”, and this restriction consequently leads to its deriving of the stem form of adverbial usage(“-teki+φ+modificand”,e.g.税金が比較的高い). Moreover, there are significant differences in the modificand of word class between above such “比較的Hikaku-teki” which has the stem form of adverbial usage and the other “-的(-teki)” which do not have the stem form of adverbial usage; the former prefers an adjective or an adjective verb to a verb as a modificand, but the latter is quite the reverse. And the former cannot be directly used as a predicate but the latter can be. Finally, if both of them are classified according to nature as an adverb, the former can be classified as a “sentence adverb” but the latter can be classified as a “state adverb.

Formaldehyde (FA) is an important industrial chemical, but it can cause allergic reactions, sick building syndrome and so on. It has also been observed to cause cancer in scientific studies using laboratory animals, and it even causes cancer in humans. Natural products such as ginseng and pine needle containing complicated mixtures of organic chemicals are widely used in the world, because their effective components are responsible for some pharmacological activities including antioxidative effect, anticancer effect. We investigate the effect of Korean ginseng (GE), pine needle extract (PE) and combined GE and PE (cNPE) on mouse lung injury by FA exposure. GE, PE and cNPE was directly transported to pulmonary cells through respiratory organ by nebulizer inhalation. In the case of FA exposure, the pulmonary structure was damaged and its function became abnormal. However, cNPE-FA, GE-FA, and PE-FA treated groups showed similar with the control group compared with FA group. Among them, GE was proved to be more effective than any other extracts. These results demonstrate that natural product extracts could protect pulmonary structure and function against FA exposure.
NdCo_(1-x)Ni_(x)O_(3) (0.05≤x≤0.20) 계의 전기적 성질

The electrical properties of NdCo_(1-x)Ni_(x)O_(3) (0 05≤x≤0 20) system were investigated by means of X-ray diffractometry and the measurements of the electrical conductivity and the thermo- power Sample powders were prepared by the coprecipitation method using oxalic acid The substitution effect was estimated from the temperature dependences of the electrical conductivity and the thermopower in the temperature range from room temperature to 500K Substituted nickel cations oxidized the Co^(3+) cation to the Co^(4+) cation according to the extent(x) of the nickel cation. The increase of the x value increased the bandwidth of the e_(g)^(*) band, which increased the magnitude of the electrical conductivity. Also, the increase of the X value increased the electron density of the charge carriers in the e_(g)^(*)band, which decreased the magnitude of the mobility of the charge carriers
Fluxless용해법으로 제조된 Mg-Zn합금의 시효거동 및 기계적 성질

본 연구를 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. Mg-Zn 2원계 합금에서 생성된 화합물들을 SEM/EDS 분석결과 Mg-77wt%Zn의 조성을 가지는 화합물이었다. 2. Mg-Zn 2원계 합금을 인장시험한 결과, Zn량이 증가할수록 인장강도 및 항복강도는 증가하였으나 연신율은 9∼10% 정로로 거의 변하지 않았다. 그러나 0.2% 항복강도는 인장강도의 1/2에도 못미치는 아주 낮은 값이 나타났다. 3. 인장강도 및 연신율이 가장 우수하게 나타난 2원계 합금은 Mg-6wt%Zn합금으로서, δT.S = 235 MPa, and e = 9.2%이었다. 4. Mg-Zn 합금을 인장시험 후 인장파면 관찰결과 주방상태 및 T6 열처리한 합금 모두다 취성파괴인 벽개파면이 나타났으며, Zn함량에 따른 변화는 없었다. Mechanical properties of Mg-1∼6wt.%Zn alloys have been investigated by means of tensile, hadness and rolling test, SEM(scanning eletron microscopy) and EDS(energy dispersive spectroscopy). Also The age hardening behaviors of Mg-4~6wt.%Zn alloys were investigated. The yield strength σ_0.2, defined as the stress required at a plastic strain of 0.2%, and ultimate tensile strength of the Mg-1~6wt.%Zn alloys increased with an increase in Zn content, the ductility measured by elongation over a 12.6mm guage length of the specimen, change little with an increase in Zn content. The optimum combination of strength and ductility obtained in the Mg-1~6wt,%Zn alloys.
