        The sea holds over 70% of Earth Surface, and the Korean Peninsula is surrounded by the sea in the three faces, and thus our nation's life with the sea has the big meaning. The sea recollects the longing, hope and curiosity, but becomes the space of solitude, suffering and break. The sea is used as the field of life, the site of life, and the thesaurus of life in the modern ages, and is deeply recognized as the sea of existence related to the life and as the ecological environment and thus the concern toward the literature becomes accentuated. The Korean Verse(Shijo) is our native literature, and its form was completed at the end of Koryo Age, and has been handed down to today, and indicates our nation's life, emotion and breathing. So, it makes us to consider the recognition and compete knowledge of our nations toward the sea which we have examined the meaning of sea in the Korean Verse(Shijo) The marine literature shown in the Korean Verse(Shijo)does not reach th the expectation as much as the history & depth of the Korean verse(Shijo) It is rare in he marine Shijo works showing the inherent and deep understanding on sea or with the true experience in the watching sea, sensitive-scenery-sea and feeling-projection-sea. If we think of our geographical valuable conditions with the situations of Marine Country, which is sea in 3 faces and is connected with our living, the Shijo poets will have recognize the sea more, experience in the sea more, experience in the sea, show the interest toward the sea and expand & deepen the works activities.

      • 器官抽出物이 腎發生에 미치는 影響에 對하여

        The author expect to know whether the growth of the kidney of chick embryo is influenced by the extracts of some organs. As a test material, 560 eggs of White Leghorn were incubated under the condition of temperature,38±1℃ and relative humidity, 75.0±5%. Of these incubated eggs, only 460 of chick embryos are used as experimental materials. Of these experimental materials, 160 are normal group and rate of incubation, 96%. For experiment, the extracts of brain, kidney and liver of the same species of adult White Leghorn were injected in 36th hour and 72nd hour incubated chick embryo. Random selection of 50 of chick embryo were made from above mentioned 6 group of treatment to measure the weight of kidney and the results were obtained as followings. 1) Inhibition of growth is revealed when extracts of brain, liver and kidney of adult White Leghorn were injected in early chick embryo. (P<0.01) 2) Inhibiting effect on growth of chick embryos is greater by extracts of brain than by extracts of liver and kidney. (P<0.01) 3) Inhibiting action of growth of chick embryos by injection of extracts of brain, liver and kidney is greater in 36th hour incubated chick embryos than 72nd hour incubated chick embryos.       • 足紋의 진단적 가치에 대한 검토

        足紋의 양상을 비교 분석한 것을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 엄지발가락 부위(拇趾球部, hallucal area)의 피문의 양상은 남자에 있어 distal loop는 대조군에 비해 정박아군의 좌우측 모두에서 유의하게 높은 빈도를 나타내었고, 특히 오른발의 tribial arch는 그 다음으로 많은 출현을 보였다. 여자는 대조군에 비해 tribial arch가 유의하게 높았었다. 엄지발가락 부위(hallucal area)의 좌, 우측 발바닥의 皮紋型出現에 있어서 對稱的인 경향을 조사한 바 두 군 모두에서 거의 대칭적인 것을 알 수 있었다. 엄지발가락(拇趾 hallux)의 피문의 양상은 남자의 경우 대조군, 정박아군 모두에서 fibular loop가 가장 많은 출현을 보였으나, tribial loop는 정박아군에서는 거의 나타나지 않았다. 여자의 경우 fibular loop는 대조군에 비해 정박아군에서 낮게 나타나며 arch는 대조군에 비해 현저히 높은 경향을 보였다. Studies of dermatoglyphics has been paid much attention because of its significances of the diagnostic value to the congenital malformation and another disease. Although there were many dermatoglyphic studies about the palm and fingertip carries out, however the sole has been lesser studied than palm or fingertip. In this study authors aimed to observe and analyze hallucal area print patterns and hallux print patterns of 361, 153 normal male and female against 53, 51 male and female with mental retardation as a guidance of medical uses. The result obtained were follows: In hallucal are print patterns, it was discovered that distal loop was appeared notably high on the right and left sole in the mentally retarded male. Tibial arch was notably increased in the mentally retarded female, and in the other types, no significant differences were observed. In hllux print patterns, tibial loop was appeared very high in the mentally retarded male, on the other hand, tibial loop was not appeared absolutely. In the female with mental retardation, fibular loop was showed significantly decrease but arch was appeared high. From these significant data, we could be sured that the analysis of hallucal area and hallux print pattern can be applied to the practical uses of medical diagnosis.

      • Autoradiography 법에 의한 흰쥐 뇌의 Serotonin 표지 양상

        총 10마리의 Sprague-Dawley rat의 뇌측실에 직접 10^-5 ^3H-5-HT 14㎕/min를 5분간 주사하여 autoradiography법으로 실험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. Raphe nucleus 에서 銀粒子가 가장 많이 발견되었으며 다음이 시상하부의 paraventricular nucleus 였고 dorsomedialis 와 suprachiasmaticus 에서도 상당히 나타났다. 대뇌피질에서는 cingulate 와 hi-ppocampus에서 발견되었고 전엽후반부에서도 조금 발견되었으며 나머지 부위는 거의 찾아볼 수 없었다. 이상을 요약해 보면 Serotonin의 뇌에서의 역할은 주로 뇌의 내분비적 역할이나 자율신경조절 역할을 담당하는 신경원에서 대부분 나타났으며 연합운동중추 영역에서 발견된 것은 앞으로 계속적인 연구가 필요하다고 본다. Serotonin was detected in individual neuclei of the rat brain by a autoradiographic method. This amine would be unevenly distributed throughout the areas examined. Sprague-Dawley rat was injected ^3H-5-HT (14㎕/min) for 5 min through intraventricle. Rat brain was fixed by glutaraldehyde and washed in ethanol. The staining was performed by thionin cresyl violet. The result are summerized as follows: Highest silver grain of serotonin was found in nuclei of Raphe. In the hypothalamus, the highest grain was found in paraventricular nucieus. In the cerebral cortex, the auther could find the grain in the cingulate, hippocampus and post frontal Gyrus. So in is assumed that serotonin is connected with the nuclei of the neuroendocrine or automatic system and synergic action system.

        The folk-song, which is the main sources of poem and song, has constantly influenced upon other poem and song coexisting with them. The relation between Sijo and folk-song is as follows (1) The conent of Sijo has been transferred to the folk-song at it is, ana at the same time of folk-song has been handed down to Sijo (2) In the aspect of the style ① It seems that the folk-song which has the same meaning structure as Dan-sijo, has been influenced by Sijo ② It seems that the rhythm of 4.4 tune used in the Jang-sijo ③ The rhetorical technics such as repitition, parallelism and arrangement, being the characteristic of Sijo, have been used to in Jang-sijo ④ It seems that the wit and humour expressed in the Jang-sijo has been influenced by Korean folk-song.

        염색체연구에 있어서 Q-band와 band의 차이

        사람의 임파구를 배양하여 Q-band와 G-band를 각각 행 하였던 바 Q-band는 DNA 염기중 AT부위에 강하게 염색되어 D군의 판별 및 G군과 Y염색체 이상이 있을 때 유효한 것 같았으며 G-band는 여러 가지 복잡한 기전으로 인한 복합적인 작용에 의해 나타났다. Q-band에서 밝게 형광되는 부위와 G-band에서 Giemsa에 잘 염색되는 부위가 거의 일치 하였으나 제 1, 9, 16번 염색체의 동원체 근처에서 약간의 차이가 생겼다. 이것은 heteromorphism에 기인 된다고 사료 되었으며, 전위염색체(translocation)등을 진단할 경우는 Q-band보다 G-band가 더 유효한 것으로 생각되었다. The cause of the appearance of chromosome bands may be many-fold. Four factors have been found to be of particular importance; The occurrence of repetitive DNA, differences in the base composition of DNA, differences in the protein components and differences in the degree of packing of the DNP-complex. These factors may of course mutually related. Moreover, All these factors may influence the disposition of the DNA to denature and reassociate under certain conditions, which may be an important factor in producing chromosome bands. The authors attempted to search these mechanism: a series of thermal, 2xSSC, trypsin and pH 9 were utilized to investigate for G-band and quinacrine, for the Q-band. The Y-chromosome was the most brilliant and was easily distinguished between G-group disorder chromosome, It seems, as for now, that Q-band is more favorable for male-sex chromosomal patients than Giemsa band. For the G-band, authors may propose the treatment 2xSSC plus trypsin in cytogenetic laboratory.

      • 鷄胎器官 成長에 미치는 Testosterone의 效果에 對하여

        Although many research have been described previously for the various effects of testosterone on the several embryos, most of these study are based on simple weight gain which is not adequate for evaluation of the various organs statistically. The author intended to determine the effects of testosterone on the weight gain of body weight and various organs of chick embryos. On the 8th and 12th day of incubation, 0.5㎎ and 7.5㎎ of testosterone were injected into chorioallantoic membrane of each incubated egg of two groups, and each main group were divided into three more small groups such as control, 0.5mg injected group and 7.5㎎ injected group. Between the 12th and 18th of incubation day, a daily total of 10 treated eggs was broken for weighing the body weights of chick embryos and six organs―brain, eye ball, heart, lung, liver and kidney. The effects of doses and difference of injection times on growth were analyzed by the Repeated Two Way Lay out Method, and the determination of the significance in the levels of difference was made by the Turkey's Method. The results are summarized as follows: 1. When injected with testosterone injectable aqueous suspension, the chick embryos were observed with significant difference on the growth of organs between the 8th day group and the 12th day group. 2. In the 8th day group, growth retardation appeared in body weight, brain, eye-ball, lung, liver and kidney throughout 7.5㎎ injected group. 3. Generally, the growth inhibition was found on the 12th day group in comparison with control group. 4. In the both 8th day group and the 12th day group, were unique in that the growth increasing appeared hearts in 7.5㎎ injected group. 5. When injected with 7.5㎎ testosterone on the 8th day, kidney were observed with growth inhibition, but on the other hand, 12th day injected group showed growth promotion.
