      • Control Practice and orgnizational capability : mediating effect of organizational context

        Organizational adaption capability and alignment capability are the most important issues in organization theory and strategic management fields. The paper categorizes the control practice as strategic and financial control practice, explores their influence on different organizational capability, and tests the mediation effect of the organizational context between the control practice and organizational capability. The findings illustrate that strategic control practice can’t improve adaption capability directly, and financial control practice can’t enhance alignment capability directly either. The two control practice affect organizational capability through the mediating role of organizational performance management context and social relation context. Specifically, the trust context mediates the relationship between strategic control practice and adaptation capability, the support context does not take mediation role between them. The discipline context mediates the relationship between financial control practice and alignment capability, stretch context doesn’t take mediating role. Finally, theoretical contribution, managerial implication and future directions are discussed.

        현직교사의 전문성에 영향을 미치는 학교환경 (School Context) 분석

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of diverse school contexts on teachers' professionalism. Unlike previous studies, which have focused on cognitive features of teachers' professionalism and single-level contextual factors, the present study conceptualizes teachers' professionalism as including not only cognitive features (knowledge and skills) but also affective features (attitude and value). Furthermore, the present study explores the effects of diverse school contexts - socio-psychological, organizational, and institutional contexts - on teachers' professionalism, drawn from the McLaughlin & Talbert's conceptions of school contexts. The data used in this study were derived from the dataset of the 2005 Korean Education Longitudinal Study by Korean Educational Development Institute. The sample comprises 2,655 teachers who teach students in 149 secondary schools. The results, based on a 2-Level Hierarchical Linear Model, show that firstly, teachers' professionalism in terms of both cognitive and affective features vary across schools as well as teachers. Secondly, among socio-psychological contextual factors, the professional learning community influences both cognitive and affective features of teachers' professionalism. Thirdly, several organizational contextual factors (such as learning- centered principal leadership, collective influences on school policies, and administrative affairs) are associated with both cognitive and affective features of teachers' professionalism. 본 연구는 기존의 교사 전문성에 관한 실증연구가 주로 교사의 지식·기술 등 인지적 측면에 초점을 맞추어 왔음을 지적하면서 교사의 태도·가치관 등 전문성의 정의적 측면을 포함하여 교사 전문성에 영향을 미치는 학교환경을 탐색하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 학교환경을 사회 심리적, 조직 행정적, 제도적 환경으로 구분하고「한국교육종단연구 2005(KELS:2005)」의 제 3차년도 학교 및 교사 표집 자료를 활용하여 실증 분석하였다. 제 2수준 위계적 선형 모형(HLM) 분석결과, 교사 전문성의 인지적 ·정의적 측면 모두 학교마다 차이가 있으며, 특히 학교의 사회 심리적 환경과 조직 행정적 환경이 교사 전문성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학교의 사회 심리적 환경 요인 중에서는 교사의 자발성과 학습을 기반으로 하는 교사학습공동체 변인이 교사전문성의 인지적·정의적 측면에 가장 유의미한 영향력을 나타냈고, 학교의 조직 행정적 요인 중에는 학교장의 학습중심지도성이 교사의 태도 및 가치관에 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 교사 전문성은 공식적인 학습 기회 외에 학교의 다양한 환경에 의해서 신장될 수 있으며, 교사 전문성의 인지적 측면에 대한 강조에서 탈피해 정의적 측면에 대한 관심을 기울일 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

      • Suggestions for New Dimensions of Organizational Commitment in Asian

        This study firstly want to see whether Allen and Meyer(1990),s organizational commitment concept and measurement well structured enough in applying in Asian context. And second suggestion for new organizational commitment dimension for Asian context. Results show, items of affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment are not definite by groups and countries. Yet the new suggested construct of organizational commitment, beneficial continuance organizational commitment and relational organizational commitment seem to be somewhat settled in most groups and countries. This study hopes to provide theoretical and managerial implications to management literature of organizational commitment.

        꼰대의 용법: 조직구조적 특징으로 구분되는 꼰대 담론의 다변화 양상 고찰

        In this study, we explore discursive patterns of Kkondae across organizational structures. The term “Kkondae,” widely used in Korean society, possesses unique characteristics with diverse interpretations. By considering the organizational contexts, this research aims to illuminate the varying understandings of “Kkondae” across organizations. Given that discourses reflect an embedded social structure as well as individuals use discursive forms to enact their social structure, we postulate that different usages of Kknodae in different workplaces are a product of the ongoing interactions between employees and their organizational structures. In particular, since Kkondae itself has a negative connotation, its different usages in different organizations indicate that the patterns of internal group conflicts in each organization can be discerned by its usage of Kkondae. To test this idea, a data mining approach is employed, collecting 3,427 review texts from seven companies over an eight-year-seven-month period. Through various comprehensive text analyses, the study investigates how employees utilize the term “Kkondae” to express dissatisfaction with the organizational structure in which they are embedded. Our findings present that, based on the distinctive characteristics of Korean society, including the presence of an authoritarian hierarchy, informal hierarchy, and a labor-market hierarchy, different usage of ‘Kkondae’ can appear. This study provides valuable insights into interpreting and understanding the implications of Kkondae discourses within organizational contexts. By uncovering embedded grievances, this study expands our understandings of organizational language and its impact on employee perceptions.

        Teacher perceptions of school culture and their organizational commitment and well-being in a Chinese school

        This study aims to analyze and validate the dimensions and specific features of a school culture in a Chinese context. A sample of 181 teachers from a Chinese primary and secondary school in Beijing participated in a survey that measures school organizational cultural characteristics and teacher organizational commitment and well-being as outcomes of school culture. Specific cultural characteristics of this school and their impact on teacher organizational commitment and well-being were identified. The findings provide important information for understanding a school culture in the Chinese context. It enriches the theory related to school culture and the research findings that have been identified in the Western settings.

        스타트업 팀의 조직 자부심 선행요인

        스타트업 팀은 인지도와 보상 수준이 낮음에도 불구하고, 그 구성원들은 높은 조직 자부심을 갖고 있는 경우가 많다. 이는 경제적 보상과 같은 외적 동기만이 아니라 내적 동기나 환경적 영향까지 결합된 것이라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 스타트업 팀의 구성원들이 인식하는 조직 자부심의 형성 요인에 대해 분석하고 이를 통해 스타트업 팀에서의 조직 관리와 인적자원 관리에 필요한 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 문헌연구를 통해 조직 자부심에 대한 종합적인 구조 모형 및 가설을 제시하고, 창업기간이 5년 이내인 스타트업 기업을 대상으로 팀 단위의 설문조사를 진행하였다. PLS를 활용한 구조 모형 분석을 통해 가설을 검증한 결과, 조직 자부심의 선행요인으로 설정한 변수들이 모두 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 팀의 효율성과 일과 삶의 균형, 사회적 자본이 조직 자부심에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 그 하위 변수들의 관계들 또한 실증적으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 조직 자부심에 대한 개별적이고 단편적인 선행요인들에 대한 기존 연구들을 종합하여 구조적 관계를 검증하였다는데 의의가 있다. Start-up teams often have high organizational pride, even though they have low reputation and rewards. This does not only include external motivation such as monetary rewards, but also internal motivation or environmental context. The purpose of this study is to verify the antecedents of organizational pride that start-up members perceive, and to provide the theoretical and practical implications for organizational management and human resource management. To this end, comprehensive structural models and hypotheses about development of organizational pride were presented through literature review. Additionally, team-based surveys were conducted for start-up teams. Structural model analysis using PLS was Employed in order to verify the hypothesis. The results indicate that all the factors considered as antecedents of organizational pride were significant. The team effectiveness, team context, and social capital had a positive impact on organizational pride, and the relationships among the sub-factors were also confirmed empirically.

        일반논문 : 환경적 맥락에서의 경찰 커뮤니케이션 만족이 집단응집성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        최근 우리 사회에서 소통의 단절이 갈등을 빚거나 화합을 저해하는 경우를 볼 수 있듯이 조직에서 원활하지 않은 커뮤니케이션으로 인한 구성원의 불만은 조직의 응집성을 약화시키는 요인이 될 수 있다. 경찰 조직도 예외는 아니어서 구성원들의 커뮤니케이션에 대한 만족 또는 불만족 수준은 조직의 생산성과 연결되는 집단응집성에 중요한 영향을 미친다고 가정할 수 있다. 다만, 커뮤니케이션 만족은 매우 다차원적인 개념으로서 상급자·하급자·동료와의 커뮤니케이션 만족감을 비롯하여 조직의 커뮤니케이션 분위기, 매체의 특질, 그리고 커뮤니케이션을 통해 유통되는 정보의 특성과 이러한 정보가 구성원 개인에게 피드백되는 정도 등 다양한 요인에 의해 결정된다. 따라서 이들 요인을 다시 대인적 맥락, 조직적 맥락, 환경적 맥락 등으로 분류하여 연구하기도 하는데 이 연구에서는 대인적 맥락에 비하여 실증연구가 부족한 환경적 맥락에서의 커뮤니케이션 만족을 중심으로 경찰 조직 구성원의 커뮤니케이션 만족이 집단응집성에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 전국의 순경 이상 경정 이하 경찰공무원 454명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 그 분석결과를 토대로 집단응집성을 강화시키기 위한 효율적 커뮤니케이션 관리방안을 모색해 보았다. Recently, as you can see the communication cut off has caused social conflicts and undermined unity, complaints of the members due to the unsmooth communication in the organization can be one of the factors to weaken the organizational cohesion. Police organization has no exception, and it is assumed that communication satisfaction or dissatisfaction levels can have an importance influence on the group cohesiveness. But, communication satisfaction is a very multi-dimensional concept and determined by various factors such as communication environment, characteristics of the media, feedback of this information to the individual members including communication satisfaction among supervisors, subordinates and colleagues. Therefore, these factors again can be categorized into interpersonal, organizational, and environmental context, and this study aims to demonstratively analyze communication satisfaction of members of the police organization on the group cohesiveness centering on the communication in the environmental context which lacks empirical research compared to interpersonal context. To this end, survey was conducted targeting 454 persons ranging from policemen to superintendents all over the country, and based on this analytic results, effective communication management suggestions have been sought to enhance group cohesiveness.

        Relational Approaches to Control Systems

        This study is designed to examine the relationships among control systems, relationship quality between managers and employees (satisfaction with and trust in managers), and organizational commitment in hotel context. The findings of this study suggest that (1) output rewards, activity rewards, capacity information, and capacity rewards are powerful predictors of satisfaction with a manager; (2) satisfaction with a manager significantly influences trust in a manager; and (3) relationship quality between managers and employees has a significant effect on organizational commitment of employees.

        A Conceptual Model of the Business Model Competency Assessment

        Recently, the development of new and emerging business models has opened many new business opportunities and changed the nature of competition in electronic commerce. With the current challenges of implementing business models, the importance of business model assessment has been widely recognized. Nevertheless, there is relatively little research towards evaluation of business model which allows the organizations to innovate their internal business process and exploit business opportunities. The objective of this paper is to provide a better understanding of how business model competencies can be monitored and evaluated. To investigate this, we conceptualize business model competency and develop a model of the business model competency assessment based on the work of Di Valentin et al.(2012), and test it in the Internet portal service contexts.
