        Identification of Novel Subregions of LOH in Gastric Cancer and Analysis of the HIC1 and TOB1 Tumor Suppressor Genes in These Subregions

        Previously, we identified 3 overlapping regions showing loss of heterozygosity (LOH, R_1-R_3 from 11 to 30 cM) on chromosome 17 in 45 primary gastric cancers (GCs). The data indicated the presence of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) on chromosome 17 involved in GC. Among the putative TSGs in these regions, HIC1 (in SR_1) and TOB1 (in SR_3) remain to be examined in GC. By immunohistochemistry (IHC), methylation-specific PCR (MSP) and western blot, we evaluated the expression and regulation status for HIC1 and TOB1 protein in GC. We narrowed down the deletion intervals on chromosome 17 and defined five smaller LOH subregions, SR_1-SR_5 (0.54 to 3.42 cM), in GC. We found that HIC1 had downregulated expression in 86% (91/106) and was methylated in 87% (26/30) of primary GCs. Of the primary GCs showing downregulation of HIC1 protein, 75% (18/24) had methylated HIC1 gene. TOB1 was either absent or expressed at reduced levels in 75% (73/97) of the GC samples. In addition, a general reduction was found in total and the ratio of unphosphorylated to phosphorylated TOB1 protein levels in the differentiated GC cell lines. Further analysis revealed significant simultaneous downregulation of both HIC1 and TOB1 protein in GC tissue microarray samples (67%, 52/78) and in primary GCs (65%, 11/17). These results indicate that silencing of HIC1 and TOB1 expression is a common occurrence in GC and may contribute to the development and progression of the disease.

        This study aims at manufacturing SA welded API-X70 line-pipe with sour gas resistance. A pipe was manufactured by JCO bending process and SA welding using the API-X70 plate guaranteed HIC resistance. SA welded pipe was expanded in order to reduce the residual stress. The evaluation of a pipe for resistance to HIC and SSCC were performed by the RS D 0004 and RS D 0005 standards. For verification that a pipe has acceptable resistance to HIC, fullscale test was carried out. Results showed no cracking for the HIC and SSCC.

        USNCAP 정면충돌시험 결과를 이용한 HIC15 예측모델 개발

        This study is to develop the prediction model for the HIC15 in frontal vehicle crash tests. The 28 frontal impact test results of the MY2019 and MY2020 USNCAP are utilized. The metrics for evaluating the crash pulse severity such as moving average acceleration, Restraint Quotient (RQ) and ride-down efficiency are reviewed to find out whether the metrics can predict the HIC15. It is observed that the R 2 values based on the linear regression of all pairs between the existing metrics and the occupant injuries such as the HIC15, 3 ms chest g’s and chest deflection are very low. In this study, using the vehicle crash pulses, the linear regression model for estimating the HIC15 is developed. The vehicle crash pulse is splitted seven 10 ms intervals in 70 ms after impact for extracting the average accelerations in each intervals. The prediction model can predict effectively not only the HIC15 but also the maximum head g’s, chest deflection and 3 ms chest g’s of 13 vehicles out of 28 vehicles.

        The Impact of ICT Goods Imports on Economic Growth: Evidence from Asia-Pacific Countries

        Purpose - This paper empirically investigates the relationship between Information and Communication Technology (ICT) goods imports and economic growth with a focus on the 13 Asia-Pacific economies during 2005-2016. In particular, this paper extends the study by breaking down the data of Asia-Pacific countries into High Income Countries (HICs) and Low Income Countries (LICs) according to the difference of income levels. Design/methodology - Our empirical model employs the standard growth model based on the Barro (1998)-type growth framework. Using static panel-data technique, we estimate the effect of ICT goods imports on economic growth in the 13 Asia-Pacific economies. In addition, we also estimate a difference of the ICT goods imports-economic growth link between HICs and LICs. Findings -The estimation results indicate that ICT goods import has a significant positive effect on economic growth, while ICT goods export has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on it. When we break down the panel data into HICs and LICs in order to gain further insight, ICT goods imports has been effective in spurring growth in only LICs but not in HICs. The other supplementary results show that both domestic investment (GCF) and life expectancy (LE) have a significantly positive impact on economic growth in both HICs and LICs. Originality/value - The main findings of the paper suggest that ICT goods imports has a positive effect on economic growth in only LICs but not in HICs. This result supports the so-called ‘leapfrogging’ hypothesis through ICT goods imports in the Asia-Pacific countries, in which LICs are gaining more from ICT goods imports than HICs.

        MIMO-OFDM 수신기의 성능 열화 분석 및 고속 이동환경에서의 성능 향상을 위한 저복잡도 HIC 간섭제거 기법

        다중 안테나 기술의 공간 다중화 방식은 다수의 송신 안테나가 서로 다른 데이터를 전송함으로써 시스템의 동일한 대역폭을 이용하여 높은 데이터 전송률을 제공하는 기술로서, 심볼간 간섭 (ISI : Inter-Symbol Interference)과 주파수 선택적 페이딩 (Frequency Selective Fading)에 강인한 OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)과 함께 사용된다. 하지만, OFDM은 고속 이동환경에서 서브 캐리어간의 직교성이 유지되지 않아 서브캐리어간의 간섭 (ICI : Inter-Carrier Interference)으로 인하여 시스템의 성능 열화가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 ICI와 다중 안테나간의 상관도에 의한 CAI (Co-Antenna Interference)의 발생 원인과 그에 따른 성능 열화를 해석적으로 분석하고, 고속 이동환경에서 MIMO-OFDM 수신기의 QoS를 만족시키기 위한 ICI의 제거 방법으로 저복잡도의 HIC와 데이터 전송률을 저하시키지 않는 CIR (Channel Impuse Response) 추정 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 SCM-E Sub-urban Macro MIMO 채널에서의 모의 실험을 통해, ICI와 CAI에 의한 성능 열화 분석 결과와 모의 실험 결과가 일치하는 것을 검증하고, 고속 이동환경에서 HIC를 적용한 MIMO-OFDM 시스템의 성능이 향상되는 것을 보인다. Spatial Multiplexing techniques, which is a kind of Multiple antenna techniques, provide high data transmission rate by transmitting independent data at different transmit antenna with the same spectral resource. OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is applied to MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) system to combat ISI (Inter-Symbol Interference) and frequency selective fading channel, which degrade MIMO system performance. But, orthogonality between subcarriers of OFDM can't be guaranteed under high-mobility condition. As a result, severe performance degradation due to ICI is induced. In this paper, both ICI and CAI (Co-Antenna Interference) which occurs due to correlation between multiple antennas, and performance degradation due to both ICI and CAI are analyzed. In addition to the proposed CIR (Channel Impulse Response) estimation method for avoiding loss in data transmission rate, HIC (Hybrid Interference Cancellation) approach for guaranteeing QoS of MIMO-OFDM receiver is proposed. We observe the results on analytical performance degradation due to both ICI & CAI are coincide with the simulation results and performance improvement due to HIC are also verified by simulation under SCM-E Sub-urban Macro MIMO channel.

        보행자 관련 안전사고를 예방하고자 세계 각국에서는 NCAP제도를 활용하여 신차의 안전도를 평가하고있다. HIC는 교통약자(VRU)가 차량과 충돌하였을 때 받는 머리상해치를 의미한다. 기존 HIC예측을 위해선 후드상의 타격포인트에 대한 반복실험, 혹은 담당자의 경험적 판단 하에 성능인자를 추출하여 해석기법을 통해 예측하였다. 그러나 위와 같은 방법은 구조 변경마다 실험에 반복되는 공수소요가 발생하며, 경험적 판단에 의존함으로 객관성이 결여된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인공지능 기법 중 딥 러닝의 CNN과 차량 설계도면, 그리고 충격 량 실험 값을 학습하여 딥 러닝을 이용한 HIC와 HIC 등급을 예측하며, Error rate, Top1-Acc등의 평가지표를 활용하여 성능을 검증한다.

        정면충돌 가속도곡선을 이용한 HIC15 예측모델에 관한 고찰

        This study is to construct the simple estimating model for the HIC15 of the driver dummy using the frontal impact test results. Test results of 9 vehicles of Hyundai Sonata from the MY2002~MY2020 USNCAP are utilized for constructing the linear regression model. The average accelerations extracted from the vehicle crash pulses are handled as the main factors. The average accelerations of 10 ms interval within 0~100 ms are calculated from the crash pulse data of 9 vehicles. The present estimating model of the HIC15 using the average accelerations of 10 ms interval in the 0~80 ms range shows good agreement with the tested value within 2.4% maximum error.

        Pedestrian protection test has become more and more important. The regulation and NCAP of Pedestrian protection have been strictly revised. The GTR NO.9 is applied in 2013. Adult Headform test is included in GTR NO.9 and HIC value is more severely applied than the previous. Also Pedestrian protection test was included in the overall rating of ENCAP. At least more than 60% of the total score should be got to receive 5 Star of ENCAP. The grid and Flex-PLI test of ENCAP are included in Pedestrian protection form 2013. The vehicle company has tried to get the good grade of Pedestrian protection and they have come up with a great idea to apply to the vehicle development. This report is to suggest the hood design concept of the pedestrian protection development by reducing HIC value of Headform test.

        A Method for Predicting HIC15, Chest G’s and Chest Deflection Based on Results of USNCAP Frontal Impact Tests

        This study is to develop the linear regression model for estimating and predicting the HIC15, chest deflection and 3 ms chest g’s of driver and passenger dummy. Frontal impact test results of 28 vehicles from the MY2019 ~ MY2020 USNCAP are utilized to construct the linear regression model. The average accelerations of vehicle, dummy head and chest are handled as the main variables. The fundamental concept is splitting the 100 ms range into 10 intervals for obtaining the average accelerations at each 10 ms intervals. The results from the developed regression model correlate very well with the test results from the MY2019 ~ MY2020 USNCAP frontal impact test. The linear regression model is able to predict the HIC15 and the 3ms chest g’s of Hybrid Ⅲ 50th percentile male dummy and 5th percentile female dummy, effectively and sufficiently. In case of the chest deflection, although the regression model remains to be improved, the prediction using the model is still acceptable.
