ABSTRACT A brake-torsional dynamometer for small engines is developed in this study. The system involves system bed, torque sensor, signal indicator, and brake. These components are selected and manufactured to maintain the measuring accuracy for small engines. In oder to verify the system and analyze the engine combustion, the data acquisition system for cylinder pressure is added. The performance of the 40cc 2-stroke engine is measured using this dynamometer. The results show good agreement compared with those which are carried out on the commercial eddy-current dynamometer. The following results are therefore obtained : (1) A simple and relatively accurate dynamometer, which is suitable for the educational purpose, is developed. (2) The methodology of verification for the dynamometer is clearly set. (3) The engine operating conditions through the measured pressure data are predicted. (4) This system may be used as a basic tool to improve performances and minimize emissions of small engines. While participating in the 2019 and 2020 KSAE university student car competition, we wanted to drive the formula vehicle we made and convert it into data on how efficient it is. While preparing for the competition, a data logger was built to measure the vehicle’s speed, acceleration, brake pressure, and throttle position. In this paper, we did an analysis with a focus on the brakes. By analyzing these data, we were able to confirm that it was the same as the simulation we expected while building the car, and analyzed that it had better efficiency in 2020 compared to 2019.

In this paper, an anti-lock brake system(ABS) algorithm using wheel pressure sensors is proposed. The wheel pressure sensors are used to estimate the road friction coefficient, which sensors are used recently to smart cruise control system and a hybrid car. The road friction coefficient is the most important information to control the vehicle stability. Using the estimated road friction coefficient, the vehicle detects mu-transition situation such as high-to-low mu or low-to-high mu and split-mu situation easily. Also, the performance of the estimation for vehicle states such as vehicle speed and acceleration can be improved. Especially, it is efficient to control the left/right and front/rear wheel independently because the friction coefficient is estimated separately. The simulation has been performed to verify the robustness of the proposed ABS algorithm in a variety of road conditions which has different friction coefficients.

The most people have some representative prejudices when they are facing women drivers while driving. They tend to associate with female drivers as interrupters who impede the flow of the road. For example, the people who drive too slowly alone, drivers who have frequent sudden stop and a quick start and inexperienced people with changing lanes. In this paper, we have studied deceleration characteristics which is one of drivers' traits according to drivers' gender when they driving on the highway for investigating the truth. For experiments, we recruited twenty men and twenty women patients who are 30~40 years old. Highway is selected as a test course to reduce to a minimum impact from environment Brake Act signals that is transported from vehicles are used to analyze and same a highway and a vehicle are used at the same time. About 20 minutes before starting the test have been adapted to the drivers to get used a test vehicle. Through the result of this study, we would like to identify male and female drivers' deceleration characteristics and reconsider preconceptions about women drives that most people have.
