The purpose of this study is to comprehensively review the change of Gijang-gun administrative place name to confirm error in place name information. The place name data used in this study are Hoguchongsu (1789), Gijang-hyeon-eupji (1832), Gijang-gun-eupji (1899), Gyeongsangnam-do Gijang-gun-gahoan (1904), Joseon Jijijaryo (1911), Old Korean Administrative District Names Handbook (1912), Gyeongsangnam-do Jijijoseo (1914), Shingu Daejo Chosun Jeondo Bugunmyeonridong Place name Handbook (1912), Dongrae-Gunji (1930), Hanguk Jimyeong Chongram (1980) et al. In this study, after examining the changes of administrative place names in Gijang-gun in general, among them, 10 village place names such as Dangsa-ri, Manhwa-ri, Yongso-ri, Giryong-ri, Guchil-ri, Yeongu-ri, Baekgil-ri, Dumyeong-ri, Yeonghwa-ri, and Banggok-ri were targeted. Hanguk Jimyeong Chongram], Busan Jimyeong Chongram , and Busan Local Culture Electronic Exhibition were compared to confirm the error. The results of this study are as follows. First, in Hanguk Jimyeong Chungram , the place name that was changed during the Japanese colonial period appears as it is. In addition, it is confirmed that the place name information of Busan Jimyeong Chongram and the administrative place name information of the Korea Local Culture Electronic Exhibition are distorted a lot. Second, the change in the place name of Gijang started in Hoguchongsu (1789) and changed a lot in Gyeongsangnam-do Gijang-gun-gahoan (1904). After that, in Gyeongsangnam-do Jijijoseo in 1914, during the Japanese colonial period, the placename of Myeon centered on eup was changed to placename of Myeon centered on the center of Myeon, and it continues to this day. Third, it is necessary to urgently correct errors in the change data of the placename such as Dangsa-ri, Manghwa-ri, Yongso-ri, Giryong-ri, Guchil-ri, Yeongu-ri, Baekgil-ri, Dumyong-ri, Yeonghwa-ri, and Bangok-ri. 본 연구는 부산 기장군의 행정 구역 지명의 변천을 종합적으로 검토하여 기존 지명 정보의 오류를 확인하기 위한 것이다. 이와 함께 일제 강점기에 지명의 변천과 그 흔적을 검토하기 위한 목적이 있다. 본 연구에 사용된 지명 자료는 호구총수 (1789), 기장현읍지 (1832), 기장군읍지 (1899), 경상남도기장군가호안 (1904), 조선지지자료 (1911), 구한국행정구역명칭편람 (1912), 경상남도지지조서 (1914), 신구대조조선전도부군면리동명칭편람 (1912), 동래군지 (1930), 한국지명총람 (1980) 등이다. 연구의 내용은 기장군의 행정 구역 지명의 변천을 전반적으로 살펴보고 그 특징을 분석한 후, 그 중에 당사리, 만화리, 용소리, 기룡리, 구칠리, 연구리, 백길리, 두명리, 연화리, 방곡리 등 총 열 개의 마을 지명을 대상으로 한국지명총람 , 부산지명총람 , 부산향토문화전자대전 등의 자료와 비교 대조하여 그 오류를 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현재의 지명을 종합적으로 조사해 놓은 한국지명총람 에는 일제 강점기에 변화된 지명이 그대로 나타나고 있다. 부산시사편찬위원회에서 간행한 부산지명총람 등의 지명 정보와 최근에 만든 한국향토문화전자대전 의 기장 행정 지명 정보가 상당 부분 왜곡되어 있음이 확인된다. 둘째, 기장의 지명 변천은 호구총수 (1789)에서 시작되고 경상남도기장군가호안 (1904)에서 많이 바뀌어 나타난다. 그 후 일제 강점기인 1914년 경상남도지지조서 에서 읍(邑)을 중심으로 한 면명(面名)이 면(面)의 중심지 중심의 면명으로 바뀌어 나타나서 지금까지 이어지고 있다. 셋째, 당사리, 만화리, 용소리, 기룡리, 구칠리, 연구리, 백길리, 두명리, 연화리, 방곡리 등의 기장 마을 지명 변천자료의 오류를 시급히 수정할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this paper is to consider the characteristic of Busan and the history of the name of Susan administrative districts. The result of this study runs as follows. First, the units of administrative districts in Susan have been changed Geochilsan-gun in the age of the three States into Dongnae-hyeon in the Gory period, and then into Dongnae-dohobu in the Josses period. It was followed by Busan-bu and Dongnae-gun under the rule of Japanese imperialism. After forming the Korean Government, it was divided into Busan's and Dongnae-gun. Susan's was raised to Busan-jikhalsi(jikhalsi means a city under the direct control of the central government), and some parts of Dongnae-gun was incorporated into Busan-gikhalsi in 1963. Subsequently Dongnae-gun was binged to Yangsan-gun in 1973, and Gijang-gun was binged to Busan-gwangyeoksi(gwangyeoksi means a metropolitan city). At last, these changes reached the name of Busan administrative districts today. The units of administrative districts in Busan have been in the basis of the Gun-Hyeon System for long time. And then the unit of Hyena was changed into the unit of Mayan, and the subbing became the Dong-Ri System in the later 18C. Japanese administrative units, Jenny and Jennymnk, was used under the rule of Japanese imperialism, it was changed into Ding and gaga means a street. in 1947. The Bu System became the Si(city) System in 1949, as a result of it Busan-bu turned into Busan's. The Gu System came into effect in 1957. Busan-jikhalsi was turned in 1963 and Busan-gwanyyeiksi was turned in1995. The names of subadminisngrangive districts, particularly Dozy and Ri, have been changed frequently, most of their old names have disappeared. Secedes now the name of Dizzy are symbolized as the unit of number like the example Yeonsan 1 dong ∼ 9 dong. This was for tightening the control of residents since the rule of Japanese imperialism, and was just for convenience. Therefore instead of the unit of number, we have to represent them as the various place names by using the old place names in Susan administrative districts. This work helps us to feel the ancestor's traces penetrating into the place name and to establish the identity of Busan.
