In an intensively competitive global market, small-and medium-sized firms are puzzled about how to develop sustainable competitive advantages against global rivalries, thus leading satisfactory economic performance. However, despite the roles and contributions of such small-and medium-sized firms in the local community and national economies in Japan, little guidance has been offered to the practical issues related to their strategic behaviors toward global management. To fill this notable knowledge gap, this study aims to investigate the conditions in which how Japanese small-and medium-sized could dominates global market, which is one of key challenges in the literature of small business and entrepreneurship. To obtain better insights to this research area, this study undertakes an in-depth interview survey with I.S.T (Industrial Summit Technology) Corporation that shows off the highest global market share (40 per cent) with seamless polyimide tube product widely used in office automation equipment (e.g., copiers and printers). This method of survey is designed to deeply understand historical considerations about how I.S.T Corporation could dominate in the global market of such seamless polyimide tube product. Based on findings drawn from an interview, this study identifies five major factors enabling I.S.T Corporation to be a competitive global hidden company: vision sharing through founder's entrepreneurship, core competence, strategic network, risk management, and employee engagement. Specifically, to become a global hidden champion, sharing the vision motivating employees to partake in shaping company's future will be the first step on the road to global success through founder's entrepreneurship. However, in order to achieve such a vision, the importance of company's core competence cannot be overemphasized, which differentiates your customer solution with those of competitors. As such, a group of experts will be naturally formed and demonstrates your expertise in the global market, thereby building sustainable competitiveness. On the other hand, to maintain sustainable competitiveness, it is necessary to make up for the weaknesses small-and medium-sized firms suffer from competitive resources while strengthening their own strengths through strategic networks with external organizations. Here, every company has to understand the critical role of risk management, which is essential in this process of being global company so as not to lose your own strengths. Last but not least, do not forget the significant effects of employee engagement in firm performance. To enhance employees' engagement, a company has to create an ideal organization culture which fits into company's history and personality. In doing so, such organization culture can allow the vision and strategy to be implemented into detailed business tactics while facilitating employees to challenge the status quo by experimenting with creative ideas.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, not only existing service fields but also general studies often focus on specific contexts, but systematically studies on the core attributes of artificial intelligence recommendation systems are insufficient. Therefore, in order to supplement the limitations of previous studies and verify how the attributes of the AI recommendation system actually affect use, this study systematically studied the effects of three key attributes obtained through previous studies on user satisfaction and intention to use in a crossover service environment. Data were collected from a total of 310 survey subjects using the survey method, five key variables were measured, and the hypothesis and path relationship were verified through structural equations. As a result of the study, it was verified that the recommendation accuracy, interactivity, and personification of the AI recommendation system all significantly improved the user's satisfaction, the user's satisfaction had a greater influence on the intention to use, and the satisfaction level had an important mediating effect in the middle process. This study provides actionable insights for companies to optimize AI recommendation systems, provides theoretical developments in AI adoption research, and highlights policy considerations for ethical AI development. In other words, focusing on the role of everyday application of core attributes of AI recommendation systems in certain situations, the availability of various fields of these core attributes in fields such as service, medical care, education, and marketing was presented.

Currently, the fashion market in Vietnam is growing at a rapid pace and the fashion industry is becoming more and more specialized. In the fashion market, many new brands are constantly increasing and diversifying, which allows consumers to have more buying choices. Subsequently, these consumers take into account various factors when making a purchasing decision. Therefore, it is required to understand the purchasing choices of these customers from the perspective of the fashion industry. Thus, I would like to analyze the Vietnamese fashion market based on the current and preceding research in this study. Various factors affecting consumers' purchase intentions in the Vietnamese fashion market were selected, specifically image, product quality, and online word of mouth, and these variables affect reliability and information usefulness, which further affects consumers' purchase intentions. To analyze this research model, an online survey was conducted on Vietnamese consumers with their online purchasing experience, and a total of 297 valid samples were analyzed. Images have a statistically significant effect on reliability, product quality on information usefulness, and online word-of-mouth(e-WOM) on reliability and information usefulness, respectively. Therefore, this study investigated whether various variables effectively influence the Vietnamese fashion purchase intention, and in addition, it was found that the recent rapid development of online purchasing has a very significant influence on reliability and information usefulness through online word-of-mouth marketing. Through this, we hope to understand the Vietnamese fashion market and help the fashion industry enter the Vietnamese market in the future. This study aims to identify the qualities and virtues a modern leader should possess by applying the leadership shown in Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching to the contemporary theories of super leadership. As Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching was originally a work rooted in the diagnosis of the present world and the will to transform it, it will be a way to revive the essence of this work by combining it with modern leadership theories. This will be a significant task for leadership research based on philosophy of orient and will have many implications for modern leadership theory. The following research implications are derived from the analysis: First, leaders should be able to do nothing to reduce unnecessary control and supervision and create an environment that allows subordinates to maximize their abilities. Second, leaders should understand the different characteristics of their employees and strive to help them overcome their limitations and grow as self-leaders through constructive criticism and rewards. Third, leaders must be able to see the big picture and not get stuck in a small bubble. Fourth, leaders must have excellent self-awareness and use their subordinates' abilities to compensate for their shortcomings. Fifth, leaders should be compassionate and inclusive, deconstructing the dichotomous view of things and recognizing the different characteristics of each subordinate in order to lead them to their full potential.

This study empirically examines the impact of corporate ESG performance on executive compensation, highlighting the importance of integrating sustainable management practices into compensation structures. Using data from publicly listed companies in Korea, the research specifically investigates how ESG performance influences both fixed and variable compensation of executives. The findings reveal that ESG performance has a significant positive impact on both fixed and variable compensation, suggesting that companies increasingly recognize ESG performance as a critical metric in evaluating executive achievements. The results also indicate that firms are not only considering financial performance but also non-financial factors such as ESG when determining executive compensation. This reflects a broader trend towards sustainable management practices that align with long-term corporate growth and value creation. This research contributes to the understanding of how ESG performance influences executive compensation and highlights the need for companies to adopt compensation frameworks that promote sustainable management. Future research should focus on examining the differences in the impact of ESG performance on executive compensation across various industries and firm sizes. Additionally, exploring the long-term relationship between ESG performance and overall corporate success will be essential in understanding how sustainable practices can enhance a company's long-term competitiveness and growth.

Following the thematic inspections conducted by the Financial Supervisory Service in 2017 and 2018, there has been increasing interest in the capitalization of R&D expenditures. Companies can record R&D spending as intangible assets, thereby inflating assets on the balance sheet and relatively reducing the debt ratio. Additionally, by not expensing R&D costs in the current year, operating profits for that year appear higher. If the capitalization of R&D expenditures aligns with the original purpose of K-IFRS, it can serve as an indicator reflecting the company's technological capabilities and growth potential. However, there is a risk that management might excessively capitalize R&D expenditures to overstate the company's financial health, contrary to the intent of K-IFRS. This temptation might be particularly appealing for smaller companies. From this perspective, this study examines the relationship between R&D capitalization ratio and long-term financial performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in South Korea. Furthermore, it identifies a moderating variable that may influence this relationship. Specifically, building on previous research suggesting that discretionary R&D capitalization can be monitored and controlled through good corporate governance, this study hypothesizes that foreign ownership positively moderates the relationship between R&D capitalization ratio and financial performance. In summary, excessive R&D capitalization in SMEs may deteriorate their long-term financial performance; however, this effect can be mitigated in the presence of high foreign ownership, which indicates superior governance structures. To test this hypothesis, the study collected 3,060 observations from 687 listed companies in South Korea from 2011 to 2017. Empirical analysis revealed that higher R&D capitalization ratios in SMEs are associated with decreased long-term financial performance, and this relationship is less pronounced with higher foreign ownership. Based on these results, the study offers various theoretical and practical implications.

This study explores the pivotal role of public and local participation in nuclear safety governance, with a particular focus on France's Local Information Commission (CLI) and the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP). Drawing on theories such as deliberative democracy, risk governance, and communicative action, the research highlights the critical importance of inclusive stakeholder engagement, transparency, and trust-building in addressing safety concerns and overcoming public resistance against nuclear power energy. The CLI and CNDP embody France's commitment to public participation through structured frameworks established under laws such as the TSN Law. These mechanisms facilitate active involvement of diverse stakeholders—including local residents, experts, NGOs, and government representatives—in nuclear policy decisions across the lifecycle of nuclear facilities, from siting and operation to decommissioning and waste management. The study also delves into the democratic practices underpinning these frameworks, such as the theory of public sphere and communicative action by Habermas, which emphasizes rational discourse and public deliberation to achieve legitimacy and consensus in decision-making. Concepts like inclusive risk governance and technical democracy further underline the value of integrating local and expert knowledge to address societal concerns in high-risk technologies like nuclear energy. Through an in-depth analysis of France's participatory institutions, the research illustrates how public and local engagement enhance societal trust and acceptance of nuclear technology, despite its inherent risks. Lessons from France provide a roadmap for Korea to strengthen its own nuclear governance, emphasizing the establishment of legally grounded participatory mechanisms, enhanced public communication, and institutionalized local involvement in decision-making.
