        아크릴아미드 고정 구멍갈파래에 의한 중금속 Cd(Ⅱ), Pb(Ⅱ) 이온의 흡착특성 (Ⅰ)-Column법

        본 연구에서는 동해안 해조류인 구멍갈파래를 아크릴아미드에 고정하여, Cd(Ⅱ) 및 Pb(Ⅱ) 중금속 이온의 흡착 특성을 살펴보았다. 수순한 Ulva pertusa 및 Si-Ulva pertusa 흡착제보다는 아크릴아미드에 고정화된 Ulva pertusa의 경우 많은 양의 중금속이 흡착되었으며, Pb(Ⅱ) 이온이 Cu(Ⅱ) 이온보다 더 잘 흡착되는 것으로 나타났다. 흡착제의 농도가 작은 경우 중금속 이온의 흡착량은 pH에 큰 영향이 없었으나, 흡착제의 농도가 클 경우 중금속 이온의 흡착량은 pH에 큰 영향을 받았다. pH에 따른 중금속 이온의 흡착량은 pH 10.5 > 8.5 > 7.0 > 5.5 > 3.5 순으로 나타났다. 아크릴아미드에 고정화된 Ulva pertusa의 단위 질량에 대해 Cd(Ⅱ) 및 Pb(Ⅱ) 이온의 최대 흡착량은 각각 최대 8.73 ㎎과 13.20 ㎎으로 나타났다. 또한 Cd(Ⅱ) 및 Pb(Ⅱ) 이온의 회수율은 pH에 따라 다소 차이가 있었으나, 각각 61.3~75.5% 및 61.4~54.1%로 나타났다. 중금속 이온의 회수에 있어서 산성 조건이 알칼리성 조건보다 효율적이었으며, 본 실험에 의한 중금속 이온의 흡착 특성은 Freundlich 흡착 특성과 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. Adsoprtion characteristics of Cd(II) and Pb(II: heavy metal ions onto the Acrylamide-immobilized Ulva pertusa, and algae of the eastern coastal area. was examined in this work. Much amounts of heavy metal ions were adsorbed onto the Acrylamide-immobilized than either bare Ulva pertusa or Si-Ulva pertusa. It was also observed that Pb(II) was more readily adsorbed on the algae that Cu(II). The adsorption amounts of heavy metal ions showed no great dependence on the pH value at low adsorbent concentration, but those were high dependent on pH value at high adsorbent concentration. The adsorption amounts of heavy metal ions were in the following order; pH 10.5 > 8.5 > 7.0 > 5.5 > 3.5. The maximum adsorption amounts of Cd(II) and PB(II) onto Ig of Acrylamide-immobilized Ulva pertusa were 8.73 mg and 13.20 mg, respectively. It was found that recovery yields of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions were in the range of 61.3∼75.5% and 61.4∼54.1% depending on the pH level. In the heavy metal recovery, acidic condition was more efficient that alkaline condition. The adsorption behavior of these heavy metal ions was well matched with the Freundlich adsorption isotherm.

        VDT작업자에서 업무로 인한 정신사회적 스트레스에 대한 인지가 근골격계장애에 미치는 영향

        업무에 의한 정신사회적 스트레스가 근골격계 질환의 유병에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 전화안내원을 대상으로 단면적 조사연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 나이, 교육정도, 근무연한, 가사부담 등의 인구학적 변수는 근골격계질환의 유병에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 정신사회적 스트레스 중 업무요구도가 높다고 느끼는 집단에서 그렇지 않은 집단에 비해 근골격계 질환의 유병률이 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났으나 업무재량도나 사회적지지도는 근골격계질환과 유의한 상관관계를 발견할 수 없었다. 그러나 업무요구도는 높고 업무재량도는 낮다고 느끼는 '근무긴장도가 가장 높은 군'은 업무요구도는 낮고 업무재량도는 높다고 느끼는 '근무긴장도가 낮은 군'에 비해 근골격계 질환의 발생위험이 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 업무로 인한 정신사회적 스트레스에 대한 인지 정도에 따라 근골격계질환의 유병률이 달라짐을 시사하고 있다. 따라서 작업관련성 근골격계질환의 예방을 위해서는 기존의 인간공학적 접근 이외에 스트레스를 감소시키려는 노력이 동시에 진행되어야 할 것으로 생각한다. A cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the association between perceived occupational psychosocial stress at work and the work-related musculoskeletal disorder(WRMSD) among employees using video display terminals. The study included 111 female telecommunication employees from three companies at ChungBuk province. Cases of WRMSD were defined using symptom questionnaire and physical examination conducted by rehabilitation specialist. Information on demographics, individual factors, and perceived psychosocial stress, were obtained by self-administered questionnaire. For assessing perceived psychosocial stress, we used variables from 'job strain model' proposed by Karasek. Associations between perceived psychosocial stress and WRMSD were assessed by multiple logistic regression models. Forty nine(44% to the total) subjects met our operational definition for WRMSD. Age, seniority, housing load were not associated with WRMSD. Perceived psychosocial stress was associated with WRMSD[odds ratio=3.28, 95% confidence interval: 1.05-10.19]. This study suggests that perceived occupational psychosocial stress is related to the prevalence of WRMSD.

        수목추출물의 생리활성에 관한 연구(XI) : 주목(Taxus cuspidata) 심재 추출성분 및 항산화활성 Compounds from Heartwood of Taxus cuspidata and Their Antioxdative Activities

        항산화활성이 우수한 주목 심재 에탄올 추출물로부터 Sephadex LH-20, centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC), silica gel column chromatography 등을 이용하여 5종의 화합물을 단리하였으며, NMR, Mass spectrometry 등의 기기분석 결과 taxane 화합물인 taxusin를 비롯하여 lignan인 isolariciresinol (4, 4', 9.9' - tetrahydroxy-3', 5-dimethoxy-2, 7'-cyclolignan), lariciresinol (4, 4', 9-trihydroxy-3, 3'-dimethoxy-7, 9'-epoxylignan), taxiresinol (3, 4, 4', 9-tetrahydroxy-3'-methoxy-7, 9'-epoxylignan) 및 isotaxiresinol (3', 4, 4', 9, 9'-pentahydroxy-5-methoxy-2, 7'-cyclolignan)을 각각 동정하였다. 이들 단리된 화합물의 프리라디칼 소거능을 측정하여 항산화활성을 검정한 결과 taxusin을 제외한 3종의 lignan 화합물인 isolariciresinol, lariciresinol, isotaxiresinol 모두 천연항산화제 및 합성항산화제보다 높은 라디칼 소거능을 나타내어 항산화활성이 우수한 것으로 판명되었다. 이상의 결과 주목의 심재 에탄올 조추출물의 높은 항산화활성은 이들 성분에 기인하는 것으로 사료되었다. Antimicrobial and antioxidative activities of heartwood extractives of domestic species were investigated to develop a natural fungicide or preservative. Four lignan derivatives and one taxane were isolated from heartwood of Taxus cuspidata which has been selected due to its high antioxidative activity among the tested species. The chemical structures were identified as : taxusin, isolariciresinol (4,4',9,9'-tetrahydroxy-3',5-dimethoxy-2,7'-cyclolignan), lariciresinol (4,4',9-trihydroxy-3,3'-dimethoxy-7,9'-epoxylignan), taxiresinol(3,4,4',9-tetrahydroxy-3'-methoxy-79'-epoxylignan) and isotaxiresinol (3',4,4',9,9'-pentahydroxy-5-methoxy-2,7'-cyclolignan) on the basic of spectroscopic data and their chemical correlations. According to the results of free radical scavenging activity, isolariciresinol, lariciresinol and isotaxiresinol showed higher radical scavenging activity than those of α-tocopherol and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), the strongest natural and synthetic antioxidants. However, taxusin did not show any free radical scavenging activity. In this regard, it could inferred that high antioxidative activity of extractives of T. cuspidata was derived from isolariciresinol, lariciresinol and isotaxiresinol.

        특수건강진단 자료를 이용한 소음성난청 판정기준의 비교

        Although noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is the most prevalent occupational disease in Korea, only 10% of the diagnosed cases are compensated. Old (1989-94) and current diagnostic criteria, criteria for workers' compensation of NIHL in Korea, compensation formulas of American Medical Association/American association of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology (AMA/AAOO), the Committee on Hearing, Bio-Acoustics, Biomechanics (CHABA), American Academy of Otolaryngology (AAO) recommendation were compared. Each criterion was applied on the audiomety data of 4044 workers (8023 ears), who had received the second line screening test of Special Periodic Health Examination Program for noise-exposed workers during 1991-2. First, the resulting proportions of NIHL cases by employing each criterion were compared and strength of agreement was measured using kappa value. Temporary Threshold Shift (TTS) was corrected by noise free interval, and the reduction ratio of NIHL cases was calculated. Theoretical progression model of NIHL was reconstructed from previous studies on the natural course of NIHL to evaluate the change of diagnosis result of each criterion in the model. The kappa value between old and current criteria was 0.19, 0.55 for current criteria and workers' com. criteria, ranging from 0.08 to 0.78, highest coincidence was observed between current criteria and CHABA formula. The current criteria produce most similar results with CHABA formula. If TTS is corrected for NFI, there is about 14% reduction of NIHL cases. The results of applying on NIHL progression model divided the formulas roughly into 3 groups, of which compensation criteria was the most, old criteria and AAO the least conservative. In conclusion, the result of 4 ㎑ audiometry should be excluded in evaluation of hearing level and a new hearing conservation program should be set out. Current diagnostic criteria has an ambiguity in that managerial concept for prevention and purpose of compensation is mixed up. The current diagnostic criteria and compensation criteria could be incorporated into a new formula which is based on the state of the art test for estimating everyday hearing disability.

        Effects of Pruning and Fertilization on the Growth of Highbush Blueberry ‘Jersey’

        This study examined the effect of different pruning and fertilization methods on the growth and development of highbush blueberry ‘Jersey’. A higher degree of thinning resulted in the formation of more suckers on the crown of the plants compared to other thinning methods. Combinational use of recommended fertilization and heavy thinning (HT) induced the highest average number of sucker formation. The average lengths of the shoots were 21.4-25.2, 17.4-20.1, and 12.0-15.3 cm for HT-, LT- (light thinning), and HP- (heading-back pruning) treated plants, respectively. HT also induced the highest number of mother shoots that were longer than 20 cm (36.6-41.1%), while LT (27.5-33.8%) and HP (15.8-23.8%) treatments produced fewer mother shoots. Analysis of fruit characteristics revealed that a higher degree of thinning increased fruit weight in 2013 as well as total soluble solid content in 2014. The pruning method had a greater impact on fruit yield than fertilization, as increased thinning led to a higher growth rate (HT 467.4-1036.2%, LT 234.9-314.3%, and HP 171.7-203.9%).

        실어증 환자의 집행적 주의 특성

        배경 및 목적: 다양한 인지기능 가운데 특히 작업기억은 순차적으로 일련의 기호들을 지각하고 산출하여야 하는 언어처리과정에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 작업기억에는 저장과 처리뿐만 아니라 집행적 주의가 포함된다. 집행적 주의란 정보의 저장과 처리를 통합하고 협응하는 과정으로, 이로 인하여 보다 효율적인 정보저장과 처리가 가능해진다. 따라서 세 가지 요소를 모두 함께 살펴보는 경우 실어증 환자의 언어적 메커니즘의 기전을 더 잘 이해할 수 있다. 이러한 연구동향을 기반으로, 본 논문에서는 실어증 환자들의 집행적 주의를 알아보고 집행적 주의와 언어능력 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 방법: 본 연구에서는 실어증 집단과 정상 집단 각 15명을 대상으로 스트룹 과제를 실시하였다. 스트룹 과제는 실어증 환자의 특성을 고려하여 컴퓨터 프로그램으로 재구성하였으며 환자는 구두반응 대신 지시하기로 반응하도록 하였다. 스트룹 과제의 항목들은 일치 항목과 불일치 항목으로 나누었으며, 일치 항목의 비율에 따라 75% 일치율과 25% 일치율 조건으로 구성하였다. 두 집단 간 반응시간(반응경쟁해결)과 오반응률(목표유지)을 비교하였고, 실어증 집단의 실어증 지수 및 각 구어언어영역의 수행력과 집행적 주의 점수 간 상관관계를 분석하였다. 결과: 반응경쟁해결에서는 실어증 집단과 정상 집단 간차이를 보이지 않았지만, 목표유지에는 실어증 집단의 수행력이 정상 집단보다 유의하게 떨어졌다. 그리고 집행적 주의 점수는 실어증집단의 언어능력과는 유의한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 논의 및 결론: 실어증 환자들은 집행적 주의를 포함한 인지검사에서 다양한 수행력을 나타내는 것으로 보이므로, 인지검사만으로는 실어증 환자의 언어능력을 예측하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문은 실어증 환자들의 전반적인 인지-언어처리 능력을 파악하기 위해서는 포괄적인 언어검사와 인지검사를 모두 실시해야 할 필요성을 시사하고 있다. Objectives: There are currently studies that approach aphasia in relations to other cognitive deficits, particularly for attention disorders, as well as damages of the language system itself. Executive attention is regarded as a sub-element of working memory in addition to storage and processing. Based on this research trend, this paper examines aphasia patients’ executive attention and analyzes relationship between executive attentions and language abilities. Methods: The Stroop task was conducted to the participants in aphasia group(n=15) and a normal group (n=15) of this study. The Stroop task was modified into computerized-pointing tasks in consideration of aphasic patients’ characteristics. The task systematically manipulates the congruent conditions (congruent vs. incongruent) and the proportions of congruency (25% vs. 75%). Reaction time (conflict resolution) and wrong response rates (goal maintenance) were compared between two groups, and a correlation between verbal language and execution attentions scores was being analyzed. Results: There were no differences between two groups of reaction time (conflict resolution), but wrong response rates (goal maintenance) of aphasia group was significantly lower than those of normal group. There was no significant correlation between executive attentions and language abilities of the aphasia group. Conclusion: People with aphasia appear to show diverse performances in a cognitive test including executive attention, and therefore it is difficult to predict language abilities of aphasic patients with only a cognitive test. Therefore, this paper suggests that in order to understand overall cognitive-language processing abilities of aphasic patients, both a comprehensive language test and a cognitive test should be conducted.

      • A large-scale screening analysis for the evaluation of Bakanae disease in rice

        Bakanae disease of rice, caused by Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon, the imperfect stage of Gibberella fujikuroi, is one of the most important rice diseases worldwide, but no rice variety has been found to be completely resistant to this fungus. Cultivation of resistant cultivars is the most beneficial way of reducing quantitative or qualitative losses to for bakanae disease in rice. To facilitate the study of this disease, accurate and large scale screening methods were developed for the inoculation and evaluation of Bakanae disease. Even and large scale infection was achieved by using F. moniliforme spore in tissue embedding cassette and seedling tray. The efficiency of F. moniliforme infection with the concentration of 1×106 spore/ml caused better distribution (F-value=33.96) than 1×102 (F-value=10.69), and 1×104 spore/ml (F-value=2.63). We established new criteria of healthy and non-healthy plant, and introduced calculation of proportion of healthy plants to meet fast evaluation of resistance level of each variety. The effect of F. moniliforme strains containing different genetic background was also evaluated with rice varieties to figure out the stability of resistance level. GA3 response of rice variety was significantly correlated with bakanae disease, but it did not adequate for direct indicator of bakanae disease resistance. These results indicated that a large scale infection method developed in this study is fast and reproducible, as well as a disease evaluation system provides an accurate measurement of bakanae disease resistance of rice.

        A New High Yielding, Good Quality and Wet-Direct Seeding Adaptable Rice Variety, “Dongjin 1”

        Dongjin 1 is a new Japonica rice variety developed from the cross between Hwayeongbyeo, a disease resistantand good quality rice variety and HR12800-AC21, a short-culm and high yielding rice line in 1992 and, thereafter, followedof performance of replicated yield trial and local adaptability test.This variety has 145 days' maturing habit from seeding toharvest, 5 days earlier than Dongjinbyeo, in the west southern plain area of Korea. It has short culm, many panicle numberbrown rice. This variety is moderately resistant to leaf blast and grows more resistant under subsequential seded blast nurs-ery test, also resistant to bacterial leaf blight but susceptible to major virus diseases and insect pests.1 is translucent with non-glutinous endosperm, 19.6% amylose content, 7.7% protein content, and 1.25 Mg/K ratio. Espe-cially, cooked rice of this variety is excellent. The percentages of milling recovery and the perfect milled rice grain of thisvariety are 76.6% and 96.3%, respectively. The yield performance is about 5.54 MT/ha, 6% higher than that of Juanbyeo intransplanting and standard nitrogen level of regional adaptability test during three years from 1999 to 2001. This varietywould be adaptable to wet direct seding in the southern plain area and to transplanting in the southern plain area includingChungcheong province.

      • A new mid-late maturing japonica rice variety Hyeonpum with a good grain quality and eating quality

        ‘Hyeonpum’ is a new japonica rice variety developed by a cross breeding between Iksan469 having a good canopy architecture and Sindongjin and Musashino 7 having a good eating-quality with a view to develop a new variety having high quality of grain and palatability by the rice breeding team of Rice Breeding and Cultivation Research Division, Department of Rice and Winter Cereal Crop, NICS, RDA in 2012. The heading date of this variety is August 18 and later than that of check variety, Nampyeongbyeo, by four days. ‘Hyeonpum’ has 74cm of culm length and 101 spikelets per panicle. This variety showed resistance to bacterial leaf blight and rice stripe virus, but susceptible to leaf blast and planthoppers. The milled rice of this variety exhibits translucent and very clear non-glutinous endosperm. ‘Hyeonpum’ has much better palatability of cooked rice than that of Nampyeongbyeo. The whole grain rate of milled rice and milled rice recovery of ‘Hyeonpum’ are slightly higher than those of Nampyeongbyeo as 91.8% and 75.2% respectively. The yield of ‘Hyeonpum’ is 5.6 MT/ha in milled rice. ‘Hyeonpum’ could be adaptable to the southern part plain area of Pyeongtaek and southwestern costal areas in Korea.
