수학 기반 STEAM 교육 관점에서 학생들의 교과 융합 역량 분석 : 초등학교 6학년 학생들을 대상으로

For STEAM education to prosper it is necessary to first investigate such capabilities of students. Thus, the study sought to find out to what degree are sixth graders capable of deriving the convergence from mathematics-based STEAM education. Study results indicate the following. 1. All the top achievers and some moderate ones were found to have the capability of convergence based on the established curriculum. 2. All the moderate achievers and some low achievers understood the knowledge of the subjects associated with the problematic situation. However, they did not know what to do in the course of problem solving, and thus were incapable of proper application or convergence of knowledge. 3. To produce output suitable for a STEAM problem situation, at least 2 subjects were needed to converge. 4. No more than 50% of students’ output was creative. This finding implies that students usually have few opportunities to engage in creative thinking before producing output in the course of problem solving. Hence, methods for enhancing creativity are needed in STEAM education. 5. As for those students lacking in cognitive abilities to understand problems and who fail to identify subjects associated with the given problems, basic instructions must be provided first so that they can read and comprehend the problems and then recall what they have learned.

Objective : The aim of this study was to review systemically clinical trials on the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicines in the treatment of osteoarthritis. Methods : Computerized literature searches were carried out on seven electronic databases, and hand-searching on some chinese medical journals in library of Kyung Hee Medical Center. Trial data were extracted in a standardized, predefined manner and assessed independently. Results : 1. Thirty reports of clinical trials and two reports of meta-analyses concerning herbal medicine were collected and reviewed Among these reports three medical herbs were applied as topical medicine and others as internal medicine. 2. The western studies established NSAIDs or placebo as their control group. Five chinese reports established formulated herb pill(Ruanshnagshenjin pill) as their control group and Six did not establish a control group at all. 3. ACR was the most highly used diagnostic criteria in the western studies while the Chinese used their official criteria established by their government or the criteria of their text books. 4. 20 reports chose the Lequesne functional index, SHAQ, WOMAC OA index, AIMS, and their own unique scoring system as the criteria of analysing the effect. Others chose clinical symptoms, articular functions, and lab finding as their criteria. 5. 7 single herbs and 19 formulated herbs were studied. Among the formulated herbs, Achyranthes japonica was studied in 10 of the studies and Angelica gigantis Radix in 8, making them the most often studied herbs among the studies.
흑마늘(Black garlic) 추출물이 마우스 비장세포의 Cytokine 생성에 미치는 영향

생리활성물질을 다량함유하고 있는 마늘의 발효산물인 흑마늘의 면역활성을 검증하기 위하여 C57BL6 마우스 비장세포를 이용하여 흑마늘이 비장세포의 활성화에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 흑마늘 추출물은 시판되는 남해 흑마늘 액기스를 농축하여 사용하였다. 그 결과 IL-2에서 흑마늘 추출물만 처리한 군에서 생성이 증가하였으며, LPS와 흑마늘 추출물을 함께 처리하였을 때 IL-2와 TNF-α, IFN-γ의 생성이 LPS만 처리한 군보다 증가하여 대식세포나 T림프구의 발현에 의해 일어나는 세포성 매개 면역을 활성화를 유도하는 Th1 세포의 발현을 활성화 하였다. 그리고 IL-6는 흑마늘 추출물만 처리하였을 때 후기생성이 증가하였으며, LPS와 흑마늘 추출물을 함께 처리한 경우 LPS만 처리한 군보다 IL-4와 IL-6의 생성이 증가하였다. IL-10은 LPS와 흑마늘 추출물을 함께 처리하였을 때 후기 생성이 감소하였는데, 이는 B 림프구의 활성화에 따른 항체생성 면역을 활성화하며 Th1 세포로부터 유도되는 세포성 면역반응을 억제함으로서 항체유도 체액성 면역반응으로 전환을 효과적으로 조절하는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 흑마늘 추출물은 마우스 비장세포에서 T 림프구의 활성화에 따른 Th1 세포와 Th2 세포가 활성화되어 면역계의 세포성 면역과 체액성 면역반응을 활성화하여 면역조절에 효과를 나타내는 것으로 사료된다. The effect of black garlic extract on the activation of spleen cells from a C57BL6 mouse was investigated to examine immune activities of of fermented black garlic containing a variety of bioactive substances. xtract obtained from the concentration of commercial Namhae black garlic was used for the analysis of immune activities. Treatment with the extract increased the expression of interleukin-2 (IL-2) cytokine. The simultaneous administration of the extract plus lipopolysaccharide (LPS) increased the expression of IL-2, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and interferon (IFN)-γ compared with that of a control group. This result suggests that cellular immunity can be induced by macrophages, resulting in the expression of T lymphocytes and T helper type 1 (Th1) cells. In addition, treatment with the extract increased the late response of IL-6 cytokines, and the extract plus LPS augmented the expression of IL-4 and IL-6 compared with that of an LPS-treated group. Meanwhile, the extract plus LPS decreased the late response of IL-10, suggesting that humoral immunity can be activated by stimulating B lymphocytes, suppressing cellular immunity, and effectively modulating the conversion into humoral immune responses. These findings demonstrate that the black garlic extract activates Th1 and Th2 cells by stimulating T lymphocytes in mouse spleen cells and leads to immunomodulation by activating cellular and humoral immune responses of the immune system.

온톨로지는 차세대 웹 기술인 시맨틱웹 기술 개발에 있어 가장 핵심이 되는 요소로 복잡하고 어려운 온톨로지를 보다 쉽게 이해하고 직관적으로 편집할 수 있는 툴이 절실히 요구된다. 이 논문에서는 기존에 개발된 온톨로지 개발도구들을 분석해 보고,W3C에 의해 온톨로지 언어의 표준으로 자리 잡은 OWL을 이용하여 온톨로지 작성을 위한 편집 도구를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 Visual OWL Editor는 Visual한 다이어그램 형태의 그래픽 인터페이스를 통해 사용자가 쉽게 온톨로지를 이해하고 간단하게 OWL문서를 생성·편집할 수 있는 방법을 제공해 준다.
증례 : 좌측 신장 무형성과 척추기형을 동반한 선천적 배측 췌장 발육 부전증 1예

7년 전부터 당뇨병으로 인슐린 치료 중이던 24세 남자 환자가 내원일 오전에 발생한 복부 불편감을 주소로 내원하였고, 복통에 대한 검사 중 복부 전산화 단층촬영 결과 배측췌장 발육 부전증과 좌측 신장 및 12번 흉추의 좌측 추궁근 결손이 발견되었다. 자기공명 담췌관조영술에서 주 췌관은 정상적이었으며 산토리니관(Santorini-duct) 및 체부와 미부의 췌관은 관찰되지 않았다. 저자는 복부 전산화 단층촬영과 자기공명 담췌관조영술을 통해 선천적 배측 췌장 발육 부전증과 동반된 신장 및 척추의 기형을 진단하였고, 이에 다발성 선천성 기형과 당뇨병이 동반된 배측 췌장 발육 부전증 1예를 보고하는 바이다. Agenesis of the dorsal pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly that arises from the failure of the dorsal pancreatic bud of endodermal cells to form the body and tail of the pancreas and can manifest as diabetes. A 24-year-old man, who had been treated with insulin for 7 years, presented with epigastric pain, vomiting, and watery diarrhea. Abdominal computed tomography showed only the head of the pancreas without visualization of the pancreatic body and tail. Left renal agenesis and absence of the left vertebral pedicle in T12 were also observed. The duct of Santorini and the duct in the body and tail were not visible in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography. The associated anomalies reported here are very rare globally. We report a case of complete agenesis of the dorsal pancreas with multiple congenital abnormalities and diabetes mellitus.

Various repertoires of membrane protein interactions determine cellular responses to diverse environments around cells dynamically in space and time. Current assays, however, have limitations in unraveling these interactions in the physiological states in a living cell due to the lack of capability to probe the transient nature of these interactions on the crowded membrane. Here, we present a simple and robust assay that enables the investigation of transient protein interactions in living cells by using the single-molecule diffusional mobility shift assay (smDIMSA). Utilizing smDIMSA, we uncovered the interaction profile of EGFR with various membrane proteins and demonstrated the promiscuity of these interactions depending on the cancer cell line. The transient interaction profile obtained by smDIMSA will provide critical information to comprehend the crosstalk among various receptors on the plasma membrane.

<P>This letter presents a directive integrated-antenna-source (DIAS) for a high-power ultrawideband parabolic reflector system. Unlike the previously developed omnidirectional integrated-antenna-source (OIAS) that leads to spillover loss in a high-power parabolic reflector system, the proposed DIAS reduces the spillover loss in the system. The DIAS is designed by cutting away the halves of the two electrodes in the OIAS. The DIAS-based reflector system was designed through numerical electromagnetic simulations. The proposed DIAS was fabricated for validation. The proposed DIAS shows 3 dB beamwidths on the <I>H</I>-plane and <I>E</I>-plane of 234° and 116°, respectively, in the peak electric-field patterns. In addition, the DIAS has a much smaller capacitance than the OIAS. The proposed DIAS-based reflector system has a peak electric-field strength of 39.5 kV/m at a distance of 40 m. The results show that, although the DIAS has a much smaller capacitance than the OIAS, the DIAS-based reflector system is capable of producing high-power electromagnetic pulses similar to those of the OIAS-based reflector system.</P>
