사전 연구에 따르면, 자폐성스펙트럼장애(ASD) 유아들은 화행적 의사소통 능력이 전반적으로 손상되어 있다고 한다. ASD 유아들은 질문에 반응하기, 사물이나 행동을 요청하기 및 항의하기 등의 화행적 언어 행위는 표현하는 반면, 평하기, 청자 인정하기, 정보 요청하기 등의 능력은 전혀 발휘하지 못하는 양상을 보였다(Cho, 2003). 본 논문은 ASD 유아들과 일반 유아들이 구조화된 환경에서 직접 화행의 의도를 어느 정도로 적절히 표현하는지에 대해 검토한다. 이 목적을 위하여, 32개월과 37개월연령의 유아들을 각각 두 집단으로 나누어 화행 능력을 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과, ASD 유아들은 일반유아들과 달리, 맥락이 주어진 조건에서도 특히, 어떤 행동의 수행을 표현하기 및 적절히 질문하기 등에 어려움을 보였다. 이 결과로 미루어 볼 때, ASD 유아의 직접 화행 능력의 문제는 전반적인 양상이 아니라, 특정한 화행 능력에 선별적으로 국한되어 있음을 시사한다. It has been reported in the literature that children with autistism spectrum disorder (ASD) are largely impaired in their communicative use of language. Certain skills such as commenting, acknowledging the listener, and requesting information were completely absent while other speech acts including responding to questions and requesting objects or actions and protesting were present (Cho, 2003; Hong et al., 2010). This paper seeks to determine the extent to which direct pragmatic intent is properly delivered in the utterances produced in a structured setting by Korean young children with and without autistic spectrum disorder(ASD). For this purpose, direct pragmatic abilities of the two groups of children between the ages of 32 and 37 months have been compared. It was found that, unlike typically developing children, children with ASD had more difficulties stating an intent to carry out an act and responding to and asking questions appropriately in a given context, in particular, than other types of direct pragmatic speech acts. Results suggest that it is likely that direct speech acts in children with ASD are impaired selectively, but not across-the-board.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is considered to be associated with neurocognitive dysfunction, depression, quality of life and cardiovascular diseases. OSA is likely to have a significant impact on the health of older adults. This study was to identify characteristics of older adults with high risk for OSA according to age and gender. Methods: This study was conducted on adults aged 65 years or older who participated in the 8th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) 2020. Characteristics of the high-risk group for OSA were investigated using the STOP-Bang questionnaire of the KNHANES data and were compared according to gender and age. The health status, metabolic variables, concurrent disease of the high risk group were compared with the control group. Results: In older adults aged 65 or older, snoring rates significantly decreased as their ages increased in both sex. The high risk group had a higher rate for performing strength exercise than control group. Depression showed a higher rate in the high risk group, but there was no difference in stress and quality of life in the two groups. The waist circumference and the prevalence of hypertension, stroke, dyslipidemia, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome was higher in the high-risk OSA group. Conclusion: It is unclear whether OSA-related symptoms increase with age in older adults over 65 years of age. Waist circumference was higher in the OSA high risk group, and this study showed that the OSA high risk group may be more likely to have metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease.

Background: Sleep duration is associated with hearing loss, especially presbycusis, which is the most common type of hearing loss; however, there is limited evidence regarding this association among the Korean population. We aimed to determine the relationship between sleep duration and high-frequency hearing loss in Korean adults aged ≥40 years.Methods: We examined 5,547 Korean adults aged ≥40 years who completed audiometric tests and questionnaires regarding sleep duration during the 2010–2012 cycle of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Sur-vey. Mild presbycusis was defined as >25 decibels (dB) and <40 dB, whereas moderate-to-severe presbycusis was defined as >40 dB pure tone averages at high frequencies (3,000, 4,000, and 6,000 Hz) for both ears. Additionally, the sleep duration was divided into quartiles. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were estimated using mul-tivariable logistic regression after adjusting for covariates.Results: The prevalence of presbycusis in South Korean adults was 62.1%, of which 61.4% showed moderate to se-vere presbycusis. The incidence of moderate-to-severe, but not mild, presbycusis showed a significant positive cor-relation with sleep duration.Conclusion: Our findings suggest that sleep duration is associated with the prevalence of presbycusis.

Existing elastic analysis methods cannot be adhered to in order to assess the structural integrity of a reactor vessel and internals for a beyond design basis earthquake. Elasto-plastic analysis methods are required, and the factors that affect the elasto-plastic behavior of reactor materials should be taken into account. In this study, a material behavior model was developed that considers the irradiation embrittlement effect, which affects the elasto-plastic behavior of the reactor material. This was used to perform the elasto-plastic time history analyses of the reactor vessel and its internals for beyond design basis earthquake. For this investigation, appropriate beyond design basis earthquakes and reliable finite element models were used. Based on the analysis results, consideration was given to the load reduction effect and the margin change. These were transferred to the internals due to the plastic deformation of the reactor vessel.

This study aims to define IoT intelligence and its characteristics. Advances in the field of information and communication technology have allowed the devices to be connected to the network. It allows the users to monitor and control the devices anytime and anywhere. With the data collected by the IoT devices, it is possible to understand the behaviors and intention of the users. The devices can provide services suitable for the situation and the intention, which are called intelligent services or personalized services. Accordingly, intelligent IoT services are being developed and launched. But most are designed with a technology focus, so those are featureless and fail to provide a satisfying experience for users. To provide a better experience for the users, it is necessary to understand IoT intelligence with the user"s viewpoint. This study defined IoT intelligence as a system that senses/understands the behaviors of users and their context and provides assistive services with a certain degree of autonomy and rationality in an IoT environment. And we derived its characteristics from two perspectives; IoT intelligence service types and IoT intelligence maturity levels. The results of this study can be used to develop new IoT services in the future.
