A Costume fif for boys made its appearance, besides kinds of boy's costume (became virious and modern form of boy's costume came forth.) 1.Boy's Costume were influenced by man's Costume. 2.Boy's Costume were related to politics, economy, society, culture and thoughts of the ages. 3.Development of textile industry by industrial revolution brought on a change in raw material, quality, and quantity of textile, more gave a variety to raw material and ornament of boy's costume. 4.Appearance of new Social reformation and liberalism & democracy brought out popularization of boy's costume. 5.Due to French War, military uniform style showed itself in boy's costume. 6.The invention of sewing machine made it possible ready made production of boy's costume, department store and publication of magazine gave variety to the choice and purchasing way of boy's costume.
화상 환자에서 발생한 외과적 중재술을 요하는 감염성 심내막염 2예

감염성 심내막염은 화상 후에 발생할 수 있는 치명적인 합병증이다. 임상 증상은 일반적으로 없는 경우가 대부분이고 지속되는 발열과 양성 혈액 배양 검사가 유일하다. 감염의 다른 확실한 원인 없이 발열과 양성 혈액 배양 검사가 있을 때는 감염성 심내막염을 강력하게 의심해야 하며 심장 초음파로 진단 가능하다. 감염성 심내막염은 사망률은 높지만 초기에 진단하면 항생제 정주를 지속하는 것으로 치료할 수 있다. 저자들은 화상환자에서 발생한 수술적 처치를 필요로 하는 감염성 심내막염 2예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Infective endocarditis is a rare but fatal complication following burn injury. The clinical presentation is silent, but with persistent fever and positive blood culture. The manipulation of clinical care as well as the burn wound itself and immunosuppression caused by extensive bums puts the burn patients at risk of bacteremia. Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacilli are most common pathogens of infective endocarditis following burns. We report herein two cases of infective endocarditis in the burn patients who requires surgical intervention. The first case was caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa with complication of multifocal pneumonia, and the second case by coagulase-negative stapylococcus with cerebral hemorrhage.

<P>Red Liriope platyphylla (RLP) manufactured by two repeated steps (steaming and drying) stimulates the insulin secretion ability and glucose receptor signaling pathway in an animal model for type I diabetes. This study examined the levels of glucose and lipid metabolism-related factors in a useful animal model for type II diabetes with obesity following RLP treatment for 3 weeks to determine if RLP treatment affects the glucose concentration, insulin secretion and fatty acid oxidation. The following results were obtained: i) RLP contained a large amount of polyphenolic compounds; ii) insulin secretion was induced in RLP-treated OLETF rats, although there were no significant differences in body weight, glucose tolerance test and glucose concentration; iii) the RLP-treated OLETF rats showed a significant increase in adiponectin concentration but the concentration of triglyceride and LDL decreased compared to the vehicle-treated rats; iv) although the abdominal fat mass and adipocyte size did not change with RLP treatment, expression of the adipocyte marker genes and β-oxidation genes in fat tissue was recovered to the level of the LETO rats; v) fatty liver formation was reduced dramatically in the liver of the RLP-treated group compared to the vehicle-treated group; vi) the expression of adipocyte marker genes and the β-oxidation gene in the liver tissue were generally similar to those of the abdominal fat but PPAR-γ showed a reverse pattern in the RLP- and vehicle-treated OLETF rats. These results suggest that RLP may stimulate insulin secretion and a decrease in lipid in serum, and may also suppress fatty liver formation through the regulation of fatty acid oxidation. The data presented here highlight the possibility that RLP can be considered a candidate for the prevention or alleviation of obesity-related diseases.</P>

Preparation of optically pure (3R, 4R)-4-acetoxy-3-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]azetidin-2-o ne derivatives, which can be employed as starting materials for synthesis of carbapenem and penem antibiotics, was established in high efficiency from 6-amino-penicillanic acid (6-APA). 6-APA was diazotized and brominated to give 6, 6-dibromopenicillanic acid and its methyl ester was metalated with methylmagnesium bromide and condensed with acetaldehyde. The product, methyl 6-bromo-6-(1-hydroxyethyl)penicillanate was reduced with Zn-$NH_4Cl-NH_4OH$-acetone efficiently to give methyl 6-(l-hydroxyethyl)-penicillanate, which was protected either with ${\beta},{\beta},{\beta}$ -trichloroethoxycarbonyl group or with t-butyldimethylsilyl group. The thiazolidine rings of these compounds were cleaved by treatment of mercury(II) acetate in acetic acid and permangante in acetone in sequence to afford the desired optically pure final products.
Evidence of <i>Toxoplasma gondii</i> Exposure among Horses in Korea

<P>The present study investigated the seroprevalence of <I>Toxoplasma gondii </I>(<I>T. gondii</I>) antibodies by ELISA in horses reared in Korea. Serum samples were collected from 2009 through 2013 from 816 horses reared in Korea. Analysis was performed using a commercial toxoplasmosis ELISA kit to detect anti-<I>T. gondii</I> antibodies. Overall, 24 out of 816 horses (2.9%) were seropositive for <I>T. gondii</I>. The result was analyzed by age, gender, breed and region. Significant differences were observed according to breed and region (<I>P</I><0.05). This is the first nationwide serological investigation of <I>T. gondii</I> in horses reared in Korea. The study results reveal that <I>T. gondii</I> occurs nationwide in Korean horses.</P>

<P>This study evaluated the prevalence of <I>Eimeria</I> species, particularly <I>E bovis</I>, <I>E zuernii</I> and <I>E auburnensis</I> that are pathogenic to cattle, in faecal samples collected from cattle with diarrhoea reared in the Republic of Korea by using microscopy and PCR. In addition, the prevalence of <I>Eimeria</I> species was analysed according to age, type of cattle, region, season and nature of diarrhoea. Overall, <I>Eimeria</I> species were identified in 279 of the 1261 (22.1 per cent) faecal samples through microscopy, and statistical analysis revealed a lower prevalence in calves aged than three weeks or less and higher prevalence in cattle with haemorrhagic diarrhoea. Of the 279 microscopy-positive samples, <I>E bovis</I>, <I>E zuernii</I> and <I>E auburnensis</I> were identified in 100 (7.9 per cent), 83 (6.6 per cent) and 27 (2.1 per cent) faecal samples, respectively, by using PCR. To the authors' knowledge, this study is the first to apply PCR for epizootiology of bovine coccidiosis.</P>
