The paper deals with stress and deflection analyses for newly developed PP-pipe structures of LG-Caltex company. In order to calculate the values of stress and deflection, the elements of pipes and its hanger supports are discretized. Through the numerical simulations using commercial FEM code, stresses and deflections of pipes with two or more hanger supports are obtained, and the stability of pipes are checked. Finally, optimal numbers of hanger supports satisfying allowable bending stress is proposed.

Very large PPC effect(σ_ppc/σ_A=10^5) in doping-modulated npnp a-Si: H superlattices could be obtained. B and P atoms, respectively, diffuse and so some parts compensated. Therefore, annealing activation energy of E_a=0.67eV is larger than one of reference n-type sample of E_a=0.26eV and annealing dark conductivity of σ_A=4×10^-[ohm cm]^-1 is lower than that of n-type reference sample of σ_A=2×10 exp (4)[ohm cm]^-1. From this results, very large PPC relatively have obtained. In this paper, we have observed that PPC effect depends on temperature and exposure time. On the basis of the experimental results, we discuss the existing models.
마테(Ilex paraguariensis) 추출물/분획물의 항산화능 및 타이로시네이즈 저해 활성

본 연구에서는 마테(Ilex paraguariensis)로부터 50% 에탄올 추출물, 에틸아세테이트 분획물 및 아글리콘 분획물을 제조하였고 이들 추출물/분획물에 대하여 항산화능을 평가하였다. 추출물 및 분획물의 수율은 건조 분말 당 각각 32.0, 4.48 및 0.82%를 나타냈다. 1,1-Phenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 라디칼 시험법을 이용한 자유 라디칼 소거 활성과 루미놀 발광법을 이용한 총 항산화능을 평가하였다. 50% 에탄올 추출물, 에틸아세테이트 분획물 및 아글리콘 분획물의 라디칼 소거활성(FSC<sub>50</sub>)은 각각 8.83, 5.84 및 6.05 μg/mL이었다. 추출물 및 분획물의 총항산화능(OSC<sub>50</sub>)은 모든 추출물이 비교 대조군으로 사용한 L-ascorbic acid (1.72 μg/mL)과 유사한 항산화능을 나타냈으며. 50% 에탄올 추출물의 경우 OSC<sub>50</sub>은 1.03 μg/mL로 활성이 가장 큰 것으로 평가되었다. <sup>1</sup>O<sub>2</sub>로 유도된 세포 손상에 대한 보호 효과 실험에서 모든 추출물은 10 μg/mL 농도에서 비교 대조군인 (+)-α-tocopherol과 유의적으로 큰 세포 보호 활성(τ<sub>50</sub>)을 나타내었다. 특히 아글리콘 분획물은 10 및 50 μg/mL 농도에서의 세포 보호 효과가 (+)-α-tocopherol 보다 약 5배나 크게 나타났다. 에틸아세테이트 분획과 아글리콘 분획의 tyrosinase에 대한 저해 효과는 미백제로 알려진 알부틴과 유사하였다. 이상의 결과들은 마테 추출물이 항산화 및 항노화 화장품 원료로서 응용 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. In the present study, 50% ethanol extract, the ethyl acetate and aglycone fraction were prepared from mate (Ilex paraguariensis) and their antioxidative ability was evaluated. The yields of extract and fractions were 32.0, 4.48 and 0.82% per dried powder, respectively. Free radical scavenging activities were performed by 1,1-diphenyl- 2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay and total antioxidant capacity was estimated using luminol-dependent chemiluminescence assay. Free radical scavenging activities (FSC<sub>50</sub>) of 50 % ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction and aglycone fraction were 8.83, 5.84 and 6.05 μg/mL, respectively. Their total antioxidant capacities (OSC<sub>50</sub>) were similar to that of L-ascorbic acid (1.72 μg/mL), known as a prominent water soluble antioxidant, in all extracts and 50% ethanol extract (1.03 μg/mL) was the most effective. The cellular protective effects on the <sup>1</sup>O<sub>2</sub>-induced cellular damage of erythrocytes were evaluated and the results showed that all extracts were significantly higher than (+)-α-tocopherol at 10 μg/mL. Especially, the τ<sub>50</sub> value of aglycone fraction was 5 times higher than (+)-α-tocopherol at 10 μg/mL and 50 μg/mL. The inhibitory effects of the ethyl acetate and aglycone fractions on tyrosinase were similar to arbutin, known as the whitening agent in cosmetics. These results suggest that the extracts of mate have the applicability as antioxidant and anti-aging cosmeceutical ingredients.

The promoter region of alginate lyase gene (aly) from Pseudomonas sp. W7 was used for the high expression of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) growth hormone (GH) gene in Esherichia coli. PCR product encoding the premature segment of the growth hormone was cloned to the downstream of aly promoter. GH was overexpressed with 46 amino acid of alginate lyase as fusion protein. GH was immunoreactive and production of GH was repressed with supplementation of 0.4% glucose into culture media.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Autophagy is an important cellular response to starvation and stress, and plays critical roles in embryogenesis, development, cell death, cancer, and immunity. Beclin-1 is one of the central regulators of autophagy in mammals. In the present study, we isolated a PoBeclin-1 cDNA from the olive flounder (<I>Paralichthys olivaceus</I>) by screening a flounder gill cDNA library and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). The PoBeclin-1 cDNA we isolated encodes a 447-amino acid polypeptide containing a conserved Bcl-2-binding domain. The deduced amino acid sequence of PoBeclin-1 showed high degrees of sequence identity (80.5–95.3%) with Beclin-1 from human, frog, mouse, zebrafish, and pufferfish. PoBeclin-1 transcripts were detected from 1 day post-hatching and were found to be ubiquitously expressed in the healthy flounder. Expression of PoBeclin-1 mRNA was increased in the kidney and spleen of flounders challenged with viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV). When infected with VHSV, PoBeclin-1-overexpressing HINAE cells had low level (about 26%) of VHSV G transcripts compared to control cells. Taken together, these results suggest that PoBeclin-1 may play a role in the innate immune response to viral infection in the flounder.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P><P>► PoBeclin-1 cDNA encodes a 447-aa polypeptide containing a conserved BH3 domain. ► Expression of PoBeclin-1 mRNA was increased in flounders challenged with VHSV. ► Overexpression of PoBeclin-1 decreased VHSV-G mRNA levels. ► PoBeclin-1 may play a role in the innate immunity to VHSV infection.</P>
방광에 발생한 암육종 1례 : A Case Report

We report a case of carcinosarcoma of the bladder in a 78 year-old female patient. Carcinosar-voma is a tumor consisting of malignant epithelial and mesenchymal elements, which occurs rarely in the bladder. The prognosis of bladder carcinosarcoma is poor and the best methods of treatment are uncertain. The literature is reviewed and the clinicopathologic condition of carcimosarcoma of the bladder id discussed.
