In the present study, we investigated the characteristic of growth and the tolerance of cold temperature in small yellow croaker and yellow drum, the results shows that the growth of yellow drum were faster than those of small yellow croaker with high food convergency efficiency, In condition factor (CF), the results shows that the values of yellow croaker and yellow drum were significantly higher in September, respectively. In mortality according to cold shock, two fishes was died under 4.7˚C in slow temperature descending test, but was both died under 9˚C in acute temperature descending test.

This study is the result of examining the growth and survival rate of larva and spat when supplied with Enriched live food by adding $B_{12}$, chitosan, PSB, and polysaccharides to microalgae (Chaetoceros gracilis, Isochrysis galbana) to raise the survival rate of larva and spat during artificial clam seed production. Microalge (Chaetoceros gracilis, Isochrysis galbana) was strengthened for nutrition with $B_{12}$ 0.1 ppm, chitosan 0.2 ppm, PSB 3 ppm and polysaccharides 1 ppm and was daily supplied for $3{\times}10^3-15{\times}10^3Cells/mL$ and the growth and survival rates were measured. As the result of experiment, the growth of larva did not show much difference with PSB test section $199{\pm}0.59{\mu}m$, $B_{12}$ test section $198{\pm}0.64{\mu}m$, and chitosan $197{\pm}0.52{\mu}m$, survival rate was highest at PSB test section with 99.3%, followed by $B_{12}$ test section 95.9%, and chitosan 94.5%. Growth of early spat was the highest for PSB test section at $2.74{\pm}0.58mm$, followed by polysaccharides $2.67{\pm}0.55mm$, $B_{12}$ $2.54{\pm}0.48mm$, and chitosan $2.49{\pm}0.51mm$, and the survival rate was the highest for PSB test group at 32.1%, followed by $B_{12}$ test section 31.6%, chitosan 28.5%, and polysacharrides 21.4%. From such results, PSB is found to be very effective with low-quality improvement when breeding early spat of clams, and especially for floor-type early spat breeding, it had the effect of suppressing protozoan and germs so that detailed studies from various perspectives should be conducted with various chemicals in the future.

Digestibility index of 12 phytoplankton species were invested during the larval development sizes. Ingestible size of phytoplankton varied depending on larval sizes: Isochrysis galbana, I. aff. galbana, Pavlova lutheri, Chlorella ellipsoidea, Nannochloris oculata was ingested 94.2-99.7% all larval sizes. Cheatoceros calcitrans, C. gracilis and C. simplex could ingest over 90.0% after umbo stage (mean shell length $189.3{\pm}13.8{\mu}m$). Phaeodactylum triconutum, Dunaliella tertiolecta and Tetraselmis tetrathele could not ingested D-shaped larvae (shell length $65.0-100.0{\mu}m$) but ingested 97.3-99.7%, 43.3-99.3%, 48.5-99.3% after then larval stages, respectively. But Thalassiosira weissflogii was ingested 1.0-1.7% only at full grown stage. Over 50.0% ingestion cell size was D-shape stage larvae with smaller than mean $102.3{\mu}m$ in shell length could ingest phytoplankton with $4.6{\mu}m$ in both major and minor axis and up to $9.3{\mu}m$ in minor axis basis for larger than mean $158.3{\mu}m$ in shell length, respectively. At all larval stages, phytoplankton with larger than $10.0{\mu}m$ in both major and minor axis could not be ingested.
회전원판을 이용한 해수 순환여과 시스템에서 암모니아 부하율에 따른 암모니아 제거율

A series of experiment was conducted to investigate the relationship between ammoia removal rate and ammonia loading rates in seawater filtering system using rotating biological contactor (RBC). In this experiment, RBC system was consisted of rotating polyvinyl film disks, which provided $12 m^2$ of total effective surface area in $0.075 m^3$ of volume. $NH_4Cl$ was added by $10{\~}150 g$ as a ammonia nitrogen source to determine ammonia removal rate in RBC system. Relationship between time required for ammonia removal (y: hour) and nitrogen inputted ($x: NH_4-N mg/l$) in RBC system was as followed: $y=3.51+7.76 lnx (r^2=0.936)$. At ammonia concentration $2 mg/l$, it took 10 hour for removal of ammonia in the RBC system. However, at ammonia concentration of $5 and 16.5 mg/l$, it took 16 and 27 hours, respectively. There was a decreasing tencency of an increasing ammonia in the rearing water. Finally, the ammonia removal rate in the RBC system increased with the rise of total ammonia concentration up to $16.5 mg/l$.
원유의 WSF (Water Soluble Fraction)가 넙치, Paralicthys olivaceus의 초기생활사에 미치는 영향

원유의 WSF가 넙치의 수정란 및 자어발생에 미치는 독성영향을 알아보기 위하여 유류의 농도에 따른 부화소요시간, 부화율, 생존율, 호흡, 심장박동수의 변화 및 기형율 등을 조사하였다. 부화소요시간은 대조구와 실험농도구간에 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다 (p>0.05). 부화율은 대조구와 1.9 ㎍/mL WSF에서 80% 이상이었으나, 3.9 ㎍/mL WSF 이상에서는 55.7% 이하로 나타나 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 한편 부화 후 3일 동안의 생존율은 농도의존적 감소현상을 나타내었다. 산소소비율은 대조구에 비해 낮게 나타났으며, 심장박동수는 대조구의 경우 부화 전에 비해 부화한 후 다소 증가하였으나, WSF 노출구에서는 감소하는 현상을 나타내었다. 기형율은 WSF 농도증가에 따라 증가하였으며, 주로 척추만곡과 척추형성부전의 현상을 보였다 This study was carried out to investigate the toxic effect of WSF (water soluble fraction) in crude oil on the hatch, survival rate, abnormality and physiological activity of fertilized eggs and early larvae in Paralicthys olivaceus. The time required in hatching the fertilized eggs exposure to crude oil was 50.8~53.2 hours both in control group and experimental group, showing no significant difference (p>0.05). The hatching rate in the control group was more than 80% in 1.9 ㎍/mL WSF concentration, but hatching rate was less than 55.7% in below of 3.9 ㎍/mL WSF concentration, showing significant difference (p<0.05). The survival rate on the 3rd day of early larval stage was 61.96% with 1.9 ㎍/mL WSF, 11.1% with 3.9 ㎍/mL WSF, and they all died with other concentration levels. The oxygen consumption rate in experimental groups was lower than control group. The heart rate (no./min) was 47.4~52.8 before hatching and there was no significant difference between control group and experimental group, but heart rate reduced with the decrease of WSF concentration after hatching. The abnormality was 1.1% in the control group whereas 36.7% with 3.9 ㎍/mL WSF, and abnormality was mostly comprised of incomplete spinal formation and spinal curvature. The results of this study suggest that even low concentration to WSF affects the early development of the flounder, Paralicthys olivaceus.
굴 Crassostrea gigas 부착기 유생의 부착에 미치는 신경전달물질종의 영향

굴 부착기 유생의 부착 유인 효과를 조사하기 위하여 6종류 (L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine, serotonin, ${\gamma}$-amino butyric acid, norepinephrine, epinephrine, methyl bromide)의 신경전달물질을 채묘기질에 직접 처리하여 굴 부착기 유생의 부착 유인 효과를 조사하였다. 조사결과 평균 채묘율는 각각 $29.1{\pm}2.2%$, $35.4{\pm}2.0%$, $19.2{\pm}2.1%$, $11.0{\pm}1.2%$, $15.2{\pm}0.9%$ 및 $42.7{\pm}2.7%$ 로 MB 처리구에서 가장 높은 결과를 보였고, norepinephrine 처리구에서 유의적으로 가장 낮은 결과를 보였다 (P < 0.05). 채묘기질 $cm^2$당 부착밀도와 부착빈도는 ${\gamma}$-amino butyric acid와 methyl bromide 처리구에서 각각 $1.97{\pm}1.42$ 및 $2.37{\pm}1.86$ 마리/$cm^2$로 가장 높은 부착밀도를 보였다 (P < 0.05). 본 실험결과 굴 인공종묘배양장 등에서 부착기 유생의 부착요율을 높이는데, ${\gamma}$-amino butyric acid와 Methyl bromide를 이용하면 효과적일 것으로 보인다.
수온과 광주기에 의한 볼락(Sebastes inermis)의 번식주기 조절

Experiments on the control of rockfish, Sebastes inermis reproduction were performed by artificially changed water temperature (WT) and photoperiod (PP). The experiments were divided into three conditions; artificial changes of both WT and PP delayed two months against their natural variations (Exp.I), natural WT and PP replaced with artificial light (Exp.II) and natural WT and PP (Exp.III) from September to April (220 days). Initial gonadosomatic index (GSI) in female groups of experiments was 0.2. Female GSI of responded group in Exp.I began to increase from December and reached the highest value in February with 15.0, while the un-responded group kept the lower value during the experimental period. Female GSI of Exp.II and Exp.III reached the highest values in January with 13.0 and 14.7, respectively. Male GSI of Exp,I reached the maximum in October, and that of Exp.II and III reached the maximum in November and then rapidly decreased. Among the experimental groups, male GSI did not show the different tendency. Monthly changes of hepatosomatic index in both sexes showed the reciprocal tendency with those of GSI. The control of WT and PP did not affect on the changes of HSI and condition factor of rockfish. From the histological observations, maturation of ovary was delayed by the changes of WT and PP, but that of testis was not influenced. Judging from the above results, the maturation and parturition of female rockfish could be delayed one or two months by artificial changes of WT and PP.
