Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of auricular acupressure therapy on insomnia of hemodialysis patients. Method: The subjects were recruited at a hemodialysis room in B General hospital in Kyonggi-Do. Thirty one patients who have suffered from insomnia were conveniently assigned to an experimental group(n=16) and a control group(n=15). The experimental group received a 2-week intervention composed of a series of six auricular acupressure therapy every 2~3 days. The effect of intervention was measured by completion of a 15-item sleep scale and a sleep satisfaction scale. Result: The sleep score was higher in the experimental group than in the control group(p=.000). The sleep satisfaction score was higher in the experimental group than in the control group(p=.000). Conclusion: The auricular acupressure therapy can improve the sleep and sleep satisfaction scores in hemodialysis patients with insomnia. Auricular acupressure therapy can be used at the clinical settings as a safe and effective independent nursing intervention to decrease insomnia in hemodialysis patients.

The purpose of this study was to recognize main environmental issues that we are facing, and to identify the values of design based on Victor Papanek's ecological aesthetics, that is, the values of design improving human and his/her living environment. For this purpose, the definition of eco-design and its historical background were reviewed, and cases embodying sustainable eco-design, a modem version of eco-design, were analyzed. The main findings of this study were as follows. The so-called sustainable slow design of the 21st century that can be viewed to follow green design of the 1980s has three factors: timelessness, that is, independence of contemporary styles; renewability by the use of renewable materials; and multi-functionality coming from flexible modification of products and replaceability of their parts. Also, in the context of sustainable slow design, the following changes in the pattern of consumption are emphasized. First, the life of product should be extended. Secondly, the frequency of use of product should be increased. Lastly, owning products should be replaced by leasing them.
보육교사의 자아탄력성, 교사효능감, 직무만족도가 조직헌신에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 보육교사의 자아탄력성, 교사 효능감, 직무만족도가 조직헌신에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울, 경기지역에 위치한 어린이집의 보육교사 320명을 대상으로 하였고, 자료분석은 SPSS WIN 21.0을 이용하여 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 보육교사의 자아탄력성, 교사 효능감, 직무만족도와 조직헌신 간의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 보육교사의 자아탄력성, 교사 효능감, 직무만족도는 조직헌신도와 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 보육교사의 자아탄력성과 교사 효능감, 직무만족도가 조직헌신에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 보육교사의 긍정적 미래지향성, 교사 개인 효능감, 보상과 동료애가 조직헌신에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 조직헌신도에 대한 연구와는 달리 조직헌신도에 영향을 미치는 내적 변인인 자아탄력성, 교사 효능감과 외적 변인인 직무만족도와의 관계에 초점을 맞추었다는데 의미를 가지며, 조직헌신을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 필요한 기초 정보를 제공하였다는데 그 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine the difference in organizational commitment according to the socio-demographic variables of child care teachers, and to find out the influence of ego-resilience, teacher efficacy, and job satisfaction of child care teachers on organizational commitment. To this end, 320 child care teachers at daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were selected to collect data by using questionnaires. The collected data from this study were used for the SPSS WIN 21.0 Program and for the analysis, Pearson correlation and regression were performed. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the correlation between ego-resilience of child care teachers, teacher efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment is disclosed static. Second, as the results about the effects of child care teachers ego-resilience, teacher efficacy, and job satisfaction on organizational commitment, it has been confirmed that child care teachers positive future-oriented, personal efficacy, compensation and companionship affect organizational commitment. It is significant that this study focuses on the relationship between self-elasticity, an internal variable that affects organizational commitment, and job satisfaction, which is an external variable. It is also meaningful in that it provides basic information necessary to explore ways to improve organizational commitment.
수돗물 병입수 중 염소소독부산물 및 aldehyde의 발생 특성

Several drinking water treatment plants (DWTPs) produce the bottled tap waters (BTWs) as pilot production and provide them for noncommercial use. In 2008, acetaldehyde and chloral hydrate were detected in some BTWs and the public worry over the safety of the water. In this study, the BTWs produced from 7 DWTPs were tested for 13 chemicals including disinfection byproducts (DBPs). The level of four trihalomethanes (THMs) were increased up to 15 days. The average concentration of them was 0.0075 mg/L at the time of bottling and it was increased to 0.0214 mg/L after 15 days. The average acetaldehyde concentration was 0.0406 mg/L at the time of bottling but it was went up to 0.2251 mg/L after 11 days and then decreased. Although the initial concentrations of DBPs were below the drinking water standard, we also traced them at different storage conditions. Temperature affected the formations of THMs and acetaldehyde concentrations significantly. While the average concentration of THMs ranged from 0.0113 to 0.0182 mg/L at 25°C, it was increased to 0.0132~0.0256 mg/L at 50°C. In case of acetaldehyde, concentration ranged from 0.0901 to 0.2251 mg/L at 25°C, it was increased to 0.3394~1.0591 mg/L at 50°C. Throughout the tests with 7 BTWs samples, none of the chemicals was exceeded the drinking water standard of Korea. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid the exposure of BTWs to sunlight or high temperature during distribution and storage.

BACKGROUND: According to Korean regulations, bottled waters (BWs) can not be treated with chemical disinfectants like chlorine, so UV and ozone disinfection is applied. During the past several years, chemicals were detected in some BWs, and the public was concerned about the safety of BWs. METHODS AND RESULTS: Mineral waters were stored for 180 days at 25℃ and 50℃, tested acetaldehyde and formaldehyde by HPLC. When mineral waters were put in a PET bottles, the formaldehyde level ranged from 5 to 66 μg/L during 180 days at 50℃. While the acetaldehyde level ranged from 31 to 221 μg/L, it was low than 16 μg/L in glass bottle. CONCLUSION(s): This result showed that formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were detected higher in PET bottles than glass bottles, these also increased depending on the time of storage. Concentration of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde could be significantly influenced by the time of storage and temperature.
