        저어콘의 내부 누대구조의 3차원적 복원기법

        저어콘 음극선발광영상의 입체적 연구를 위해, 단계적 연마를 사용한 연쇄단층촬영과 영상 후처리작업으로 저어콘 내부 누대구조의 3차원 복원을 최초로 시도하였다. 연구에 사용된 시료는 경상분지 북동부 영덕화강암체에서 분리한 고생대말 시기의 저어콘으로 평면 음극선발광영상에서는 전형적인 진동누대구조가 관찰된다. 시료의 연쇄단층촬영을 위해 에폭시마운트 제작 후 3 ㎛과 1 ㎛ 연마액을 이용한 연마와 후방산란전자영상과 음극선발광영상 촬영을 시료가 소진될 때까지 반복하였다. 단계별 두께의 차이는 약 3 ㎛이며, 약 80여개의 저어콘 중 7개를 선정하여 같은 면적 영상파일로 저장한 후 영상편집 소프트웨어인 Image J와 Volume Viewer를 이용하여 3차원 내부구조를 복원하여, 저어콘의 진동누대 및 덧성장구조를 입체적으로 재현하는데 성공하였다. 3차원적 내부구조 영상은 2차원적으로 관찰하는 단면영상의 내부구조와 달리 특정방향에 따른 단면관찰이 가능하고 다양한 변화양상을 재현할 수 있다. 이 방법은 고분해능 이차이온질량분석기 연대결과가 복잡하게 나오는 저어콘이나 미세구조 파악이 필요한 다른 지질시료의 입체적인 성장 및 재결정작용의 내부 구조연구에 응용될 수 있다. A series of the planar cathodoluminescence (CL) and backscattered-electron (BSE) images of magmatic zircon from the Paleozoic Yeongdeok pluton in the southeastern Korean Peninsula were taken using a scanning electron microscope for a 3D reconstruction of internal zonation of zircon. Seven zircon crystals mounted in epoxy were serially polished with average 3 ㎛ thickness to their disappearance. Their 3D reconstruction of zonation was performed using the Volume Viewer function in the ImageJ software. The 3D oscillatory zoning pattern of zircon was apparently shown in all the analyzed crystals. This method can further be applied to zircon crystals of multiple growth histories as well as other geological materials.

        우리나라 대표 기상관측지점의 지리적 특성 분류에 관한 연구

        In this study, we classified 219 representative weather stations in the Republic of Korea based on geographical features such as altitude, distance from the coastal line, total population, population density, and urban-related land cover ratios, and analyzed climate characteristics by the classified categories. The representative weather stations were categorized into six groups: mountain, plain inland city, plain inland rural, coastal city, and coastal rural stations. The most prevalent group was plain inland rural stations with 41.6%, followed by plain inland city ones with 22.8%, coastal rural ones with 21.9%, coastal city ones with 9.1%, and mountain ones with 4.6%. The climate characteristics among these geographical groups revealed significant differences (α=0.05) for annual average temperature except for coastal city and coastal rural group. However, annual precipitation was only significantly different between plain inland city and plain inland rural ones, and between coastal city and plain inland rural ones. The analyses of hot extreme climates revealed distinct differences among the six groups. At plain inland city ones, heat wave days were notably greater (15.8 days) than mountain ones (3.3 days), indicating the effect of city and elevation. Conversely, cold wave days were significantly much more in mountain stations (18.3 days) than coastal rural (1.5 days) and city (1.3 days) groups largely due to the modulation of warmer oceans in winter, elevation and city. The results of this study might be used for basic information for establishing future climate change adaptation strategies in the Republic of Korea.

        수박 CGMMV의 즙액전염 양상과 전염 억제제의 효과

        This study was conducted to investigate the sap transmission pattern of CGMMV and to select the disinfectant of sap transmission on watermelon cultivation. Being investigated CGMMV occurrence change after transplanting two diseased plants among 47 plants on the watermelon house, disease spread rapidly from early growth stage of 4% to late growth stage of 83%. When the grafting knife and topping scissor was dipped onto the several disinfectants before grafting or topping, disease suppressed 87-95% on whole milk, skim milk, tri-sodium phosphate, and sodium hypo-chloride solution. Disinfection effects of 88.2% and 91.2% on whole milk and skim milk were showed when the hand dipped on the disinfectants.

        오이 종자로부터 CGMMV의 검출과 품종 저항성 검정

        To analyze the relationship between CGMMV occurrence and seed contamination by cucumber cultivars, cucumber cultivars of CGMMV infected field and diseased degree were investigated in cucumber main cultivation regions of Jeonnam province from 1999 to 2002. While the diseased degree was different by years and cultivars, CGMMV occurred for 4 years in ‘Janghyeongnakhap’, for 3 years in ‘Jangjukcheongjang’, and for 2 years in ‘Gyeoulsali’ and ‘Gyeoulnagi’. CGMMV was detected in seeds of ‘Janghyeongnakhap’ and ‘Jangjukcheongjang’ by ELISA test, and seed of ‘Jangjukcheongjang’ showed positive reaction in bioassay. As a result of resistant test of 34 cultivars to CGMMV, all cultivars showed mosaic symptoms in pot test but only ‘Hanboksamcheok’ showed mild mosaic symptom in field test.

        전남지역의 수박에 발생하는 바이러스 병 발생 실태

        Recent occurrence of virus diseases on watermelon plants cultivated in Jeonnam province was investigated from 1998 to 2002. While virus diseases were severely occurred on watermelon cultivated in green house in 1998, those of open field were severer than in green house since 2000. When 128 samples collected from different fields were examined by electron microscopy, 87.8% of the samples contained rod-shaped or filamentous virus particles. RT-PCR analysis of the samples revealed that Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) was only detected from collected samples at May. Watermelon mosaic virus (WMV) was most frequently found and CGMMV and Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) were slightly at June and July. However Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) and Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) have not been detected.

        참다래 궤양병 발생상황과 시설재배에 의한 방제

        To investigate occurrence of kiwifruit bacterial canker disease, 172 kiwifruit orchards in Jeonnam and Gyeongnam provinces were surveyed from March to April in 1999. In the south coast region of Korea, such as Haenam, Wando, Jindo, Jangheung, and Bosung, red-rusty brown bacterial oozes were observed in 17 kiwifruit orchards. Disease incidences varied from 2.2% to 100% depending on various regions. Total 22.8 ha of kiwifruit orchards were destroyed by occurrence backerial canker at 1999 in Korea. Orchard in Wando, Jindo, and Goheng were severely damaged in 1999. The seasonal variation of bacterial canker incidence was also investigated from 1996 to 1997 on leaves, vines and twigs of kiwifruit. Red-rusty brown bacterial ooze was exuded from mid February or early March to late April in creaked site of vine and twig. The seasonal incidence of bacterial canker on leaves appeared from late April to late June, and rapidly increased during May. Optimum growth temperature of Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae was at 25oC on King’s B medium and did not grow at 33oC. We suggest that spreading of bacterial canker was suppressed under the plastic flim and windbreak net house.
