Optimal temperature maintenance of a transfusion cooling system using thermoelement

For bleeding or disease treatment, a blood product is often received. According to the storage regulation of a blood product using platelets, a blood product should keep its temperature at 22±2°C and stir continuously. In particular, if its temperature fails to remain, cells are so influenced that they are dead or change their properties. Therefore, this study designed and developed a transfusion cooling system using thermoelement in order to maintain a storage temperature during the transfusion of a blood product and analyzed the characteristics of temperature and voltage-current. The cooling system for a transfusion can control switching to continuously change if the voltage-current polarity of thermoelement reaches a setup temperature. As a result, the internal temperature of the transfusion cooling system and the temperature of saline solution pack were able to remain at 22±2°C constantly.

병원성 요로감염의 가장 큰 위험요인은 도뇨관 삽입이다. 그러나, 도뇨관 삽입시점부터 요로감염 발생시점까지의 기간을 고려하여 요로감염발생에 영향을 주는 요인을 규명한 연구는 찾기 힘든 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 도뇨관 삽입 후 요로감염이 발생하기까지의 시간을 추정하고, 요로감염 발생에 영향을 미치는 위험요인을 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 2003년 1월부터 12월까지 일개 대학병원 중환자실에 입원한 환자 중 소변배양검사에서 양성반응을 보인 유치도뇨관 삽입환자 386명의 의무기록지를 활용한 후향적 조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 요로감염 발생시간의 추정과 환자의 특성 영역별 비교는 Kaplan-Meier 추정법과 로그-순위 검정(log-rank test)을 사용하였으며, 요로감염 발생 위험요인을 규명하기 위한 분석방법으로는 Cox 비례위험모형(Cox proportional hazards model)을 사용하였다. 분석결과 중간 무요로감염 생존시간(median urinary tract infection free survival time)은 8일이었으며, 환자의 나이, 도뇨관 삽입장소, 도뇨관 교환횟수가 요로감염 발생에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. The major risk factor for nosocomial urinary tract infections(UTI) is catheter insertion. However, there has been little studies considering the time span from insertion urinary catheter to the occurrence of UTI to identify risk factors for UTI. This study aimed at both estimating the time span from insertion urinary catheter to the occurrence of UTI onset and investigating risk factors that might influence this time span. The subjects were 386 patients who had positive result in urine culture and were hospitalized in ICU between January and December 2003. The data were collected retrospectively from medical records. Kaplan-Meier estimator was used to estimate UTI free survival time. Cox proportional hazards model was used to identify relative risk factors. The risk factor for catheter-associated urinary tract infection were age, place of catheter insertion, and times of foley catheter change.
InGaAlP 레이저다이오드를 적용한 Rat의 착상 치유에서 면역조직화학적 연구

The apparatus has been fabricated using the laser diode and microprocessor unit. The apparatus used a InGaAlP laser diode for laser medical therapy and was designed for a pulse width modulation type to increase stimulation effects. To raise the stimulus effect of the human body, the optical irradiation frequency could be set up. The study has executed in-vivo experiment by employing our own developed laser diode irradiation system to investigate the effects of the InGaAlP laser diode irradiation on the wound healing as a preliminary study aimed at the application of InGaAlP laser diode to wound healing of human skin injury. The study cut out whole skin layers of Sprague-Dawley rat on the back part in 1 cm circle and observed developing effects after executing light irradiation for 9 days, and in result it is found that the light irradiation rat showed earlier wound healing than non-irradiation rat during the experimental period. In addition, there are some differences found regarding the healing process between laser diode irradiated rats and non-irradiated ones.
몰드성형 광학렌즈를 이용한 의료기기용 열화상카메라 체열진단의 적용도 평가

With the recent development of less-costly uncooled detector technology, expensive optics are among the remaining significant cost drivers in the thermography camera. As a potential solution to this problem, the fabrication of IR lenses using chalcogenide glass has been studied in recent years. We report on the molding and evaluation of a ultra-precision chalcogenide-glass lens for the thermography camera for body-temperature monitoring. In addition, we fabricated prototype thermography camera using the chalcogenide-glass lens and obtained the thermal image from the camera. In this work, it was found out that thermography camera discerned body-temperature between 20 and $50^{\circ}C$ through the analysis of thermal image. It is confirmed that thermography camera using the chalcogenide-glass lens is applicable to the body-temperature monitoring system.
