Recently, public interest in housing defects, such as construction errors, occupiers’ complaints, faults in production, and so on, is increasing. In addition, the construction requirements of high-rise residential buildings have increased, due to the higher prices of urban areas, especially in metropolitan areas. While previous research has focused on the defects occurring in apartment housing complexes, research has not been carried out on the defects occurring in high-rise residential buildings. In this paper, the defects patterns and characteristics of high-rise residential buildings are examined and analyzed and a defect management plan is then suggested. In order to do this, we collected the defects data of high-rise residential buildings recorded by 2,299 of 2,327 occupants. The defect occurrence rate (DOR) in the residential area is 98.8%. The frequency rate of defect occurrence over the total defect occurrence since building completion is 63.28% during the first year, 24.63% (second year), 6.88% (third year), 2.27% (fourth year), and 2.53% (fifth year). The result of correlation analysis between work types showed that there is a relationship between the built-in furniture and electronics (F&E) and painting works, and the F&E and masonry works, such as marble finishing. We expect that this research will assist in the efforts to decrease the number of defects in high-rise buildings.

농림수산식품부와 국립수산과학원에서는 2009년도 방류 품종 (해면 품종 22종과 내수면 품종 11품종)을 대상으로 수산동물전염병의 감염 여부를 검사하였다. 총 12개 지방자치단체에서 방류를 실시한 것으로 나타났으며, 이 중에서 경상남도, 전라남도, 제주도 및 충청남도는 해면품종을 주로 방류하였으며, 경기도, 전라북도 및 충청북도는 내수면 품종을 많이 방류하는 것으로 나타났다. 검사품종중에서 해산품종으로는 전복이 24.5%로 가장 많았으며, 그 다음 해삼 (15.2%), 넙치 (11.5%), 감성돔과 조피볼락 (6.8%), 꽃게 (5.6%), 돌돔 (5.1%), 볼락 (4.6%), 붉은쏨뱅이 (4.5%)로 나타났다. 내수면 품종 중에서는 붕어가 19.4%로 가장 많았으며, 그 다음으로 뱀장어 (17.0%), 동자개 (12.3%), 다슬기 (12.0%), 메기 (8.4)의 순으로 검사 실적이 많았다. 총 33종의 품종을 대상으로 1,080회의 검사가 의뢰되었으며, 검사항목별로 2,066건의 검사를 실시한 결과 19건에서 red sea bream iridovirus (RSIV), koi herpesvirus (KHV) 또는 white spot syndrome virus (WSSV)와 같은 병원체가 검출되어 불합격 처리되었다. Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) and National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) have inspected the hatchery-reared seeds of 22 marine species and 11 freshwater species for aquatic animal diseases in stock enhancement program in 2009. Results showed that total 12 local self-governments have been restocking the sea with cultured juveniles. Gyeongsangnam-do, Jeollanam-do, Jejudo and Chungcheongnam-do have a preference for marine species seeds to freshwater species. On the contrary, freshwater species were released mostly in Gyeonggi-do, Jeollabuk-do and Chungcheongbuk-do. In the marine species group, abalone was the most abundant as (24.5%, and then sea cucumber (15.2%), olive flounder (11.5%), swimming crab (5.6%), black sea bream and rockfish (6.8%), rock bream (5.1%), black rockfish (4.6%) and scorpionfish (4.5%) were followed. Crucian carp was the most abundant as 19.4%, and then eel (17.0%), Korean bullhead (12.3%), melanian snail (12.0%), catfish (8.4%) were followed in the freshwater species group. The total number of inspection cases in this study were 1,080 and disqualification cases were 19 by detection of aquatic animals pathogens such as red sea bream iridovirus (RSIV), koi herpesvirus (KHV) or white spot syndrome virus (WSSV).

수산동물의 질병 발생과 확산을 억제하기 위하여 제정된 수산동물질병관리법은 2008년 12월 22일 시행되었다. 수산동물의 질병 발생과 확산을 억제하기 위하여 위험분석이 새롭게 도입되었다. 수산동물의 이동에 대한 위험분석의 도입은 세계무역기구의 SPS 협정의 권고사항의 이행과 관련이 있으며, 세계동물보건기구의 수산동물위생규정의 지침에 의거하여 수행되어져야 한다. 이 보고서는 수산동물의 이동에 대한 국제규정과 국내의 위험분석 제반여건을 수집하여 분석하였다. Aquatic animal diseases control act which is to assure the prevention of outbreak and spread of aquatic animal diseases in Korea has come into effect since 22 December 2008. In order to prevent outbreak and spread of aquatic animal diseases, risk analysis is newly introduced. The introduction of risk analysis for movement of aquatic animals related to implementation of recommendation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures and should be conducted in accordance with guidelines of OIE Aquatic Animal Health Code. This report involves gathering and analysing the information of international regulation and situations of risk analysis framework in Korea for movement of aquatic animals.

국내 양식잉어는 1998년부터 잉어바이러스성 질병으로 인해 대량 폐사되었다. 본 연구에서는 잉어바이러스성 질병과 KHV병과의 연관성을 조사하기 위하여 잉어바이러스성 질병으로 대량 폐사된 잉어를 대상으로 병리조직학적 검사를 실시하여 병리적 병변을 비교하였다. 병리조직학적 검사 결과, 괴사병소와 공포성 세포를 특징으로 하는 특이 병변이 신장, 비장, 간, 췌장, 심장 및 소화관에서 관찰되어 전신성 병변을 보였으나, KHV병의 특이적 병변인 호산성 핵내 봉입체를 가진 세포들은 관찰되지 않았다. 이상의 결과로 국내에서 발생하는 잉어바이러스성 질병은 KHV병과는 다른 새로운 바이러스성 질병으로 사료되었다. Unidentified viral disease with high mortalities has been recorded consistently since 1998 in cultured carp Cyprinus carpio in Korea. In the present study, we investigated the histopathological characteristics of the diseased carp to evaluate the relatedness to koi herpesvirus disease (KHVD). Histopathogical examination revealed severe necrotic changes and vacuous cells in the kidney, spleen, liver, pancreas, heart and intestine, but eosinophilic intranuclear inclusion, a typical characteristic of KHV infection was not detected. These results suggest that KHVD may be not a cause for the high mortality occurring among cultured carp in Korea and possibly other unknown viral disease could are related.
Risk Factors for Acute Hepatitis A Infection in Korea in 2007 and 2009: A Case-Control Study

This study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with acute hepatitis A virus (HAV)infection in the Korean population. Participants were recruited from five referral hospitals across the country in 2007 and from 11 hospitals in 2009. Patients with positive anti-HAV IgM antibody tests became the case group, while patients treated for non-contagious diseases at the same hospitals were recruited as controls. A total of 222 and 548 casecontrol pairs were studied in the 2007 and 2009 surveys, respectively. Data from the surveys were analyzed jointly. In a multivariate analysis, sharing the household with HAVinfected family members (OR, 6.32; 95% CI, 1.4-29.6), contact with other HAV-infected individuals (OR, 4.73; 95% CI, 2.4-9.4), overseas travel in 2007 (OR, 19.93; 95% CI, 2.3-174.4), consumption of raw shellfish (OR, 2.51; 95% CI, 1.8-3.5), drinking bottled water (OR, 1.64; 95% CI, 1.3-8.4), and occupation that involve handling food (OR, 3.30; 95%CI, 1.3-8.4) increased the risk of HAV infection. Avoiding contact with HAV-infected individuals and avoiding raw foods eating could help minimize the risk of hepatitis A infection. Immunization must be beneficial to individuals who handle food ingredients occupationally or travel overseas to HAV-endemic areas.

<증례> 54세 여자가 내원 12시간 전부터 발생한 발열과 오한, 우상복부 동통을 주소로 응급실로 내원하였다. 과거력상 어려서부터 비장종대가 있었으나 특별한 검사 없이 지내다가 내원 2년전 호흡곤란으로 심장비대와 담석이 있다는 사실을 알고 약물치료 중 이었다. 내원당시 혈압은 120/80㎜Hg, 맥박은 분당 100회, 호흡은 분당 24회, 체온은 38.0℃였고, 창백하면서 황달이 있었다. 심음은 규칙적이었으나 강도 4정도의 수축기 잡음이 심첨과 흉골좌측

The beneficial effect of glucose and phosphate ions in culture medium on the development of human embryos in vitro has not been fully elucidated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of fertilization and culture of embryos in glucose/phosphate-free m-TALP medium on pregnancy rates in IVF-ET program. The patients in 244 IVF-ET cycles received GnRH agonist + HMG regimens. A does of 10,000 IU HCG was administered when two or more dominent follicles reached 18mm in diameter. Thirty-six hours after HCG, oocytes were recovered transvaginally using ultrasound guidance. Aspirated oocytes were matured for 4 to 6 h in TCM-199 supplemented with 10% follicular fluid (FF). Insemination was carried out with 50,000 motile spermatozoa in TCM-199 + 10% FF or m-TALP + 5% FF + 5% fetal cord serum (FCS) according to experimental design. After 6 h, oocytes were washed 3 to 4 times and cultured in each fresh medium. After 20 h, oocytes were freed from cumulus/corona cells and examined for the presence of pronuclei. Fertilized oocytes were transferred into each co-culture drops and cultured for further incubation. On day 3, embryo transfer was performed with grade 1 and 2 embryos. Monolayers for co-culture of embryos were prepared by plating $1{\times}10^5$ cumulus cells/ml in 10ul drop of TCM-199 + 10% FF or m-TALP + 5% FF + 5% FCS media 24 h prior to the onset of co-culture. Development to 4 to 16 cell stage was observed at 70x magnification following two days of incubation. Pregnancy was confirmed by detecting increasing serum ${\beta}$-hCG concentrations for 11 days following embryo transfer. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$-test. Oocytes from 244 IVF-ET cycles were randomized. The number of cycles and mean age of patients were 97 and 147, 31.3 yrs and 31.2 yrs for TCM-199 (control) and m-TALP groups, respectively. The mean number of retrieved oocytes/cycle, fertilization rates, number of embryos transferred/ET and pregnancy rates were 11.1 and 10.3, 65.1% and 67.3%, 4.1 and 4.7, 28.9% and 43.8% for TCM-199 and m-TALP groups, respectively. Differences in the pregnancy rates were found between control and m-TALP groups (p<0.05). The pregnancy rate of patients divided according to maternal age groups of ${\leq}30$, 31-35, $36{\leq}$ were 44.4% and 49.0%, 26.1% and 41.3%, 29.2% and 41.2% for control and m-TALP groups, respectively. These data indicate that culture of human embryos in glucose/phosphate-free m-TALP medium improves pregnancy rates.
