        임상간호사의 감정노동과 우울 간의 관계에서 소진의 매개효과

        The purpose of this study was to elucidate the association between emotional labor and depressive symptom, and to find out the mediating role of burnout in the relationship between emotional labor and depressive symptom in Korean clinical nurses. We conducted a multiple regression analyses to determine the relationships between emotional labor, burnout and depressive symptom in a sample of 606 nurses from six Korean hospitals. The results show that five sub-scales of emotional labor was positively correlated with burnout and depressive symptom, and burnout partially mediates the relations of ‘emotional damage and hurt’, ‘organizational surveillance and monitoring’ to depressive symptom. Burnout did not have a significant mediating effect on the relationship of ‘emotional demands and regulations’, ‘overload and conflicts during customer service’ and ‘lack of a supportive and protective system in the organization’ to depressive symptom. This result indicates that it is required to develop the strategies that target both burnout and emotional labor, given that burnout partially mediated the effects of emotional labor on depressive symptom, and emotional labor was directly associated with depressive symptom, to reduce nurses’ depressive symptom. 본 연구는 임상간호사를 대상으로 감정노동 하위요인별 우울 간의 관련성을 분석하고 감정노동과우울 간의 관계에서 소진의 매개역할을 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 감정노동으로 인해 발생할 수있는 정신건강문제 및 소진의 발생 과정에 대한 이해를 돕고 나아가서는 우울 및 소진을 관리할 수있는 적극적인 중재전략에 기여하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전국의 6개 3차 대학병원에 근무하는 임상간호사 606명을 대상으로 자료를 분석하였다. 통계분석방법은 감정노동과 우울과의 관계에서 소진의매개효과를 파악하기 위하여 단순 및 다중 회귀 분석을 시행하였고, Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 3단계매개효과 검증 절차를 이용하여 분석하였다. 간호사의 소진은 감정노동의 하부요인 중 감정부조화 및손상, 조직의 감시 및 모니터링 요인이 우울 간의 관계에서 부분적 매개효과가 있었다.

        탈북 서사 문학의 서사 전략과 윤리 - 제프 탈라리고(Jeff Talarigo)의 『다시 그 강가에 서다(The Ginseng Hunter)』를 중심으로

        이 글은 탈북자라는 난민에 대한 문학적 사유가 보여주는 윤리성을 탐구한다. 특히 기존에 검토되지 않았던 국외의 시선에 주목하였다. 미국 작가 제프 탈라리고(Jeff Talarigo)의 소설 『다시 그 강가에 서다(The Ginseng Hunter)』는 현재시제 서술 전략을 통해 사건으로서 도래한 난민(탈북자)을 우리 앞에 데려다 놓는다. 독자로서 우리는 서술자를 통해 탈북자의 핍진한 현실을 마주하며, 때론 탈북자의 직접적인 호소로 인해 2인칭 ‘당신’으로 호명된다. 그러한 호명 앞에 어떤 행위로 대답할 것인가의 결정은 작품 속에서 ‘지금, 여기’를 살아가는 심마니(나)에 의해 제시된다. 그에게 있어 탈북자는 동일성으로 이해되지 않지만, ‘집합적’ 차이로 이해되는 것도 아니다. 그는 탈북자라는 타자를 집단으로 이해하는 대신 개별적 상황으로 인식한다. 더불어 그는 난민을 마주한 ‘우리’ 또한 집단으로 이해하지 않는다. 그는 어디까지나 개별자로서 존재한다. 난민(탈북자)과의 관계 맺기를 보여주는 이 소설을 통해 독자(우리)는 난민을 대하는 우리의 모습을 발견하기도 하며, 난민이라는 상황이 우리에게 요청하는 바를 깨닫기도 한다. 난민은 이제 무관심의 대상이 될 수 없는 우리 삶의 부분으로 깊숙이 들어와 있다. 따라서 난민과 접촉되어 있음을 시인하고, 그들의 요청에 귀 기울이고, 행위로서 응답할 때만이 난민이라는 상황에서 주체되기가 가능하다. 알랭 바디우가 지적했듯이 그러한 주체되기의 실천 속에서만, 아무런 힘도 진리도 되지 못하는 공허한 윤리적 담론일 뿐인 이데올로기로서 윤리가 아니라, ‘문제의 현재성’을 설명하고 해결할 수 있는 ‘다른 윤리’를 찾을 수 있는 가능성이 열리게 될 것이다. 이것이 이 서사가 보여주는 주체의 윤리라 하겠다. This paper explores the ethics of literary thought regarding North Korean refugees. In particular, focusing on a literary work from a country other than Korea that has yet to be analyzed. In the novel <The Ginseng Hunter>, American writer Jeff Talarigo presents the North Korean refugees before us through the use of present tense narrative strategy. The narrator forces the reader to face the vivid reality of North Korean refugees and even the refugees themselves directly engage the readers by using the second person 'you'. Our response therefore being represented by the Ginseng Hunter who lives presently in the novel. For him, North Korean refugees are not understood as being the ‘identity’ or as the ‘collective’ differences. Rather than identifying the North Korean refugees as a group, he identifies them based on their individual circumstances. Additionally, the Ginseng Hunter is not aware of the ‘us’ who are facing these North Korean refugees as a group, but rather he only exists as an individual. Through this novel, which shows how we relate to refugees, we find ourselves dealing with them and realize what the situation of refugees is asking us. Refugees are now deeply embedded in our lives, thus they cannot be subject to indifference. It is therefore possible for us to become the subject to the refugee situation by acknowledging our contact with refugees, listening to their requests, and responding to them through action. As Alain Badiou pointed out, in the practice of becoming a subject, it becomes possible to find 'other ethics (unknown ethics)' that can explain and solve 'the present condition of the problem' rather than ethics as an ideology that is nothing but a vacant ethical discourse with no power or truth.

        공무원 혁신행동의 결정요인에 관한 연구

        This research explored and examined the effects of determinants of innovative behaviors of public officials. Based on the job demands-resources model, we constructed a comprehensive framework including motivational, job-related, leadership, and organizational factors. We conducted a hierarchical regression analysis using survey data collected by the Korea Institute of Public Administration in 2022. The analysis results demonstrated the positive effects of public service motivation, job resources, leaders' intellectual stimulation, and the innovation-oriented culture on innovative behaviors; whereas red tape had a negative effect. Importantly, we found that the effect of role stressor varies with its level. Under the conditions of high and low levels of role stressor, it did not have a significant effect on innovative behaviors. On the other hand, under a moderate level of role stressor, it significantly increased innovative behaviors. Considering these results, we provide several practical implications.

        시민행동압력은 조직시민행동을 증진하는가?: 소진의 매개효과를 중심으로

        Numerous existing studies have demonstrated the importance of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The value of OCB might be more critical in the public sector when considering limited resources and procedural constraints. However, contrary to the original intent of OCB based on voluntary actions by organizational members, an organizational climate enforcing OCB often exists, which is called ‘citizenship pressure.’ This research examines whether such citizenship pressure, which exists in the Korean context, enhances OCB. Moreover, even when the pressure has a positive effect, we seek to verify whether such pressure is sustainable by simultaneously considering job exhaustion as a mediator. A structural equation model analysis was conducted using survey data from the Future Government Research Center at Yonsei University in Korea. The analysis revealed that citizenship pressure had a direct positive effect on OCB. However, it concurrently had an indirect negative effect on OCB by increasing job exhaustion. The results imply that the effect of citizenship pressure on OCB may not be sustainable even if the pressure increases OCB in the short-term. Based on the findings, we discuss several practical implications.

        시뮬레이션 교육이 간호사의 전문심장소생술 수행능력에 미치는 효과

        Purpose: This study was to identify the effects of simulation-based training for advanced cardic life support on the competence of nurses in critical care settings. Methods: In this study, a nonequivalent control pretest-post test quasi-experimental design was used. Data were collected from May 1 to June 1, 2006 at one general hospital in W city. Among 40 nurses in critical care settings, twenty were assigned to the experimental group and twenty to the control group. Nurses in the experimental group received simulation-based training for advanced cardiac life support. Measurement tool were ACLS related knowledge and skills developed by AHA & Mega Code (2005) and some items were modified. The collected data were statistically processed using SPSS version 12.0 for Windows, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, $X^2$test, t-test, paired ttest, Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: 1) Hypothesis 1“: Nurses who received simulationbased training would have more knowledge of advanced cardiac life support than nurses who received traditional training”, was supported (t=11.51, p=.00). 2) Hypothesis 2: “Nurses who received simulation-based training would have better advanced cardiac life support skills than nurses who received traditional training”, was supported (t=2.38, p=.00). Conclusion: Simulation-based training for advanced cardiac life support is an effective strategy for increasing the competence of nurses in advanced cardiac life support in critical care settings.

      • Recovery of acetic acid from carbon monoxide fermentation broth

        Acetate can be produced by bioelectrochemical system (BES) using CO/CO2 as gas substrate. The accumulation of these kinds of VFAs inhibit the acetogenic activity and cell growth in BES, thus decrease the system performance and productivity. In this point of view, the ion exchange membrane in BES can provide a useful tool to separate and transfer the produced VFAs by BES-based electrodialysis, and utilize them for further bioprocessing. In this paper, we examine the effect of applied current and media composition on acetate transportation through ion exchange membrane, and its concentration in BES reactor. The operational parameters such as temperature, pH and initial acetate concentration will be examined. From this work, the BES-based electrodialysis can provide a platform for in-situ separation in BES as well as targeted value-added chemical production. However we need to study more about a shape of reactor to improve the membrane efficiency.

      • Production of 3-HP and 1,3-PDO from glycerol via genetically modified E. coli using BES

        3-HP and 1,3-PDO are useful platform chemicals for further industrial manufacture and applications. It has been reported that the biosynthesis of both chemicals are regulated by internal redox balance (i.e. NAD+/ NADH ratio). In this study, we examined an electrode-based redox regulation of 3-HP and 1,3-PDO production from glycerol using a recombinant E.coli which harbor the metabolic pathways of both chemicals. Our results showed that 3-HP production was enhanced by increasing the intracellular NAD+ / NADH ratio when the oxidation potential was given on the electrode. In contrast, the ratio of NAD+ / NADH was decreased when reduction potential was given, hence the synthesis of 1,3-PDO increased while 3-HP was suppressed. These results indicate that the electrode-based redox control can regulate metabolic pathway of biosynthesis and selectively produce platform chemicals using a bioelectrochemical system.

        Trauma Exposure and Suicidal Ideation among Korean Male Firefighters: Examining the Moderating Roles of Organizational Climate

        Background: This study investigated the relationship between trauma exposure and suicidal ideation. Moreover, this study examines the moderating roles of organizational climate on the association between trauma exposure and suicidal ideation in Korean male firefighters. Methods: A total of 15,104 male firefighters who completed a questionnaire were analyzed. The data were obtained using an online self-administered questionnaire from the Firefighter Research on Enhancement of Safety and Health Study. Poisson regression analysis was performed to determine the effects of trauma exposure on suicidal ideation and the moderating effect of organizational climate. Results: The results showed that 389 firefighters (2.6%) responded that they had experienced suicidal ideation. In the final model, trauma exposure was positively related to suicidal ideation (adjusted risk ratio [aRR], 1.076; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.051–1.103), and organizational climate was negatively associated with suicidal ideation (aRR, 0.772; 95% CI: 0.739–0.806). Additionally, the interaction term (trauma exposure × organizational climate) was related to suicidal ideation (aRR, 1.016; 95% CI: 1.009–1.023). Conclusions: This study suggests that trauma exposure might play a significant role in developing suicidal ideation and that positive organizational climate moderates the negative effects of trauma exposure on suicidal ideation among firefighters. It is necessary to perform a follow-up study of various intervention strategies to maintain a healthy organizational climate or work environment. Such interventions should promote lasting trust within teams, provide social support and belonging, and nurture job value.
