Sensuous Postcard/Anime-like Expressed Face is our art project which promotes using facial expressions in E-mail or postcards. However, a face photo is hard to use directly in your E-mail so we arranged a facial photo by CG expression. In Japanese anime or manga, to express the anger of the character, black vertical lines are added on the face or to express dejection, a flare-like pattern is used. These are symbolistic expressions to emphasis. To apply these expressions for facial photo images, we decided to set up the expression server on the Internet which adds Anime-like Expression to the face-photo image by using SIC(Synergistic Image Creator) system and decided to use a mail interface for that system because of characteristics of SIC. This server has 10 different Anime-like Expressions in accordance with facial expressions.

맬서스주의 대 풍요주의: 새로운 문제규명 및 접근법 모색

The purpose of this study is to seek a new approach in addressing the issues of population sustainability by looking at factors that were not previously considered in the traditional “Malthusian Trap” argument. Going beyond what Malthusians or New Malthusians have argued, this study expands the scope of explanatory variables to the supply of energy, mineral, water and atmosphere from food. Considering consumption, aspects in population quality such as the size of the middle class, urbanization, and age are also given more focus. In doing so, this study gives more attention to the spread of population growth, especially on its size in the era of rapid economic development. It also emphasizes the fact that different characteristics of natural resources influence their sustainability as well as the way people compete to secure them. This study finds that the supply of economic goods such as food and energy is expected to be continuously unstable but not to the extent that there will be a critical crisis. If there is no innovation, however, the supply of free goods such as air and water will not be sustainable. Ultimately, it would be tough to reverse the current trend unless societies consider paths toward environmentally friendly urbanization. 이 글은 인간과 자연 간의 (불)균형 및 지속(불)가능성에 관한 기존 논의의 비판적 평가와 문제규명 접근법을 모색하는 시론적 성격의 학제간 연구이다. 이 연구의 분석틀은 경제성장 및 환경보전과 인구변동 간의 긴장관계에 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 이 연구는 분석 대상인 자연자원을 경제재(economic good)와 자유재(free good)로 구분하고, 전자는 지속가능성이 상대적으로 높은 반면 후자는 지속가능성이 매우 낮을 것으로 차별화한다. 경제재는 기술발전과 시장기제에 의해 지속가능성이 높겠지만, 후자는 기술발전 및 시장기제의 한계와 국가능력의 축소, 그리고 국가간 집합행동의 딜레마로 해결 가능성이 매우 낮다는 점을 이 연구는 밝히고 있다. 이 연구는 인구 대 자연자원의 불균형을 다룬다는 점에서 19세기 맬서스와 유사점을 갖지만, 분석 시각 측면에서 다음과 같은 차이를 가지고 접근한다. 첫째, 이 연구는 총인구수의 절대량보다 인구의 “질”에 주목한다. 동시에 산업화 출발 시기의 인구 크기를 중요한 변수로 다룬다. 둘째, 기존 연구를 바탕으로 설명대상의 범위를 식량, 에너지, 광물자원은 물론이고 물, 공기와 같은 생태계까지 포괄한다. 동시에 이 연구는 분석 대상인 자원의 종류에 따라 지속가능성 여부 및 자원을 두고 벌어지는 경쟁의 양상이 다를 수 있다는 점을 염두에 두고, 경제재와 자유재로 구분해 접근한다. 셋째, 이 연구는 경제성장과 확산의 속도 차이에 주목한다.

Shinsuwuisaeng-Tang was a drug that treated carbuncle and cellulitis. So, the purpose of this Study was to investigate effect of Shinsuwuisaeng-Tang on the anti-cancer and nitric oxide(NO) production of peritoneal macrophages. We used Shinsuwuisaeng-Tang extract(SWT) with freeze-dried, 8wks-old male mice. and cancer cell lines(L1210, sarcoma-180) for this Study. The proliferation of cells was tested using a colorimetric tetrazoliun assay(MTT assay). The results of this Study were obtained as follow; SWT was showed cytotoxicity on the L1210 and sacoma-180(S-180) cell lines, SWT inhibited significantly proliferation of L1210 cells in L1210 cells transplanted mice, SWT accelerated NO production of peritoneal macrophages in L1210 cells transplanted mice. And SWT inhibited significantly tumor weight, increased significantly body weight and mean survival days in S-180 cells transplanted mice. This results suggest that SWT has anti-cancer by producing NO of peritoneal macrophages.

정치제도화를 통한 갈등집단 이해 조정: 국회선진화법과 예산심의

The purpose of this study is to verify the empirical evidence that the automatic submission of the budget bill to the plenary session introduced after the implementation of, so-called, the National Assembly Advancement Act will impair the fiscal control of the National Assembly. Unlike the concerns raised in the first year of the introduction, the automatic submission system of the budget bill and the series of bills accompanying the budget cannot be considered to constrain the right of the standing committees and the special committee on budget and accounts regarding input and output of budget review. The study argues that the automatic submission system as a major itarian rule rather than a consensus one unexpectedly exercised its centripetal force the partisan lawmakers to stay in the space of compromise until just before the plenary session in the budget review process. 이 연구는 국회선진화법 시행 이후 도입된 예산안 및 예산 부수법안 자동부의제도가 국회의 재정통제를 약화시켰는지 실증적인 자료로 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 도입 첫 해에 제기되었던 우려와 달리 이 연구 결과는 예산안 및 부수법안의 자동부의제도가 투입 및 산출 측면에서 상임위원회와 예산결산특별위원회의 심사권을 무력화 시키거나 예산안 결정과정에서 정부여당의 주도권을 강화시켰다고 평가할 만한 경험적 증거가 없는 것으로 확인했다. 다수제적 결정방식인 예산안 자동부의제도가 본회의 직전까지 여야를 타협의 공간에 머물도록 구심력을 발휘해 역설적이게도 갈등집단 간 이해조정을 통해 합의제적 결정방식의 효과를 발휘한 측면도 있음을 이 연구는 주장한다.
