Through expansion of SNS, today’s people can communicate with friends anytime, anywhere. Various types of services like social commerce, crowd funding are growing faster in combination with SNS. SNG (Social Network Game) is the service which is growing faster together with these kinds of services. SNG has a feature that attracts women consumers and light users who were not interested in game, making them naturally absorbed in game and interested in cooperation and competition with friends. And this type of phenomenon is being accelerated because viral marketing using SNS can be a great marketing strategy. A foreign SNG enterprise, King had an annual sale about 2 trillion in 2013 through SNG called Candy crush. Despite of these positive effects, developing real SNG has many difficulties. Because most of trials to develop SNG focus on just few specific SNS though there are various types of SNS platforms. One of the biggest reasons is SNS platform companies provide open API to connect platforms in their own way because there is no standard. Furthermore, in case of Kakaotalk, a representative domestic SNS platform provides API only to contractors, and just few functions to public in beta test. So, it’s not easy to apply adequate platforms for new businesses and small-medium sized companies that are trying to develop SNG. This paper will introduce Meta API that makes it possible to use many different API provided by a number of SNS platforms. And, processing various social information gained through the above, this paper will introduce social hub system that is able to provide essentially needed functions to SNG. This helps developers not to apply many open API separately and combine them to develop SNG. In addition, the users who use SNG developed through social hub system can experience more diverse things with various people. This paper focuses on realizing the above system and introduces technique optimized for system configuration. Lastly, through experiment and evaluation, this paper compares friends management technique suggested in the above system to general friends management technique, and the result of that comparison is the suggested technique is superior to the general technique in search function. Moreover, measuring the time to load a list of friends from both the above system and the existing SNG, this paper demonstrates the above system is enough to realize a game because the speed in the both systems is same.

      • Network Structure Analysis of a Sub-hub-Oriented Port : Focuing on Gwangyang Port

Song ShiCheng Incheon National University, Graduate School of Lo 2019

        RANK : 199307

The Port of Gwangyang was built with the aim of reducing congestion at the Port of Busan by acting as sub-hub port. Many studies have discussed the new port construction and dual-hub port system to solve the increasing demand and port congestion problems; however, there is not much research discussing the sub-hub port system. As such, the main purpose of this paper is to analyze the liner shipping network structure of the sub-hub-oriented Port of Gwangyang using social network analysis (SNA). In terms of number of connections among ports, using in-degree, out-degree, and betweenness centrality, Busan is the most important port in Gwangyang’s network. However, when it comes to considering the influence of ports using hub centrality, Busan drops to the fifth most influential position. In the network of the Port of Gwangyang, Shanghai and Hong Kong have more important roles compared to those of the Port of Busan. In terms of the number of connections among the ports, using in-degree and out-degree centrality, the Port of Busan was identified as the most important port in Gwangyang’s network; however, when it comes to considering the influence of ports using hub centrality, Busan plunges to the fifth most influential position. Shanghai’s hub role was constructed on its broader connections with other hub ports. Also as the largest container port in the world, Shanghai port is not only the center of Northeast Asia, but also a significant port connecting with Southeast Asia. Many of Gwangyang port’s distributing was realized through Shanghai port. Especially those cargos aimed to be distributed to mainland China. Besides, Shanghai port’s closer relationships with mainland China ports earned extra credits. Because Gwangyang port’s main distribution regions are China, Japan and Southeast Asia, these ports which had more connections with these areas would be lifted up in hub authority rank. Hong Kong port is a hub port which connecting both mainland China ports like Shenzhen and Guangzhou and Southeast Asia ports like Ho Chi Minh and Singapore. The transshipment role of Hong Kong and its value added services has made it a powerful and influential port. Ningbo port is located near Shanghai port. It faced high competition from Shanghai port. But still, Ningbo port has become a very important port in Asia as well as in China. A few important ports concentrated a large number of links which they all shared high degree centrality, hub centrality and authority centrality while most ports were only connected to rather than reaching out. These important ports mainly including Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh and Port Klang. Also these hub ports were having a dominating role in its regional areas. For examples, Busan port dominated the Korea-Japan areas, and Jebel Ali dominated the Middle East areas.

An online community is a virtual network where people with common interests and characteristics gather to share information, opinions, and experiences. It plays an important role in the decision-making process of consumers, and its importance has been increasing in firm’s marketing activities. Accordingly, research on the new product diffusion through bandwagon consumption among members within the online community has been drawing attention. This study pays attention to the fact that the social influence of hubs in online communities can vary depending on the preference skewness within the group. We collected community information and users’ purchase data from Last.fm, a world-leading music social network website, and analyzed using a fixed-effect linear regression model. This study derived the following results. First, social contagion on new music purchases was greater in communities with variously distributed preferences than in communities with skewed preferences. Also, hubs had a greater influence than others on the purchase of new products by other consumers. In particular, the positive influence of hubs on the purchase behavior of other consumers increased in the group with skewed preferences, while decreased in the group with diverse preferences. Based on these results, this study has the theoretical implications of presenting a new boundary condition, in-group preference skewness, for the impact of network hubs on new product diffusion. Furthermore, this study offers managerial implications to new product marketers and community managers by providing efficient marketing strategies.

      • A SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS OF INTERCONNECTIONS AMONG CRUISE PORTS IN THE CARIBBEAN REGION

Uriel Armando Lopez Rodriguez Incheon National University Graduate School of Log 2020

        RANK : 133726

Despite the clear dominance of the Caribbean as the leading cruise destination in the world, leading the global cruise market with a solid thirty-two percent which double, research that focuses on the network of cruise ports in the region is quite rare, not to say non-existence. Several researchers have focused on different fields encompassed to the industry such as; economic balance, social impact, cruise marketing, and port of call current status. To fill this void, the current study carried out social network analysis to inquire into cruise port interconnections and their influence on the operation of the entire Caribbean port network. Resultant models aim to be comprehended on a graphical basis for a better understanding and consistent interpretation. Aiming to demarcate connections and ports with significant importance in the global context of the Caribbean region. The results are summarized as follows: First, in terms of connections among ports linked to the Caribbean region, a European port, Southampton harbor, exhibits the most significant in-degree and out-degree centrality. For in-degree centrality, Civitavecchia, Fort Lauderdale, Copenhagen, and Miami complement the index. Philipsburg, Copenhagen, Barcelona, and Civitavecchia quota the top five for the out-degree centrality index. Nevertheless, ports within the Caribbean region are still significantly represented, containing five of the top ten ports as regards both indexes. Second, in the matter of port influence, Caribbean ports are considered the most important with respect to hub and authority centrality, especially those located in Florida and the eastern Caribbean. For hub index, Fort Lauderdale leads the ranking followed by Basseterre, Philipsburg, St. Johns, and Miami. Hence, Philipsburg, Fort Lauderdale, Basseterre, Miami, and St. Johns complement authority index on that respective order. This research contributes to the industry through its presentation of an extended panorama of the cruise network in the region, subjecting several ports to respective analyses that describe their principal characteristics and attractiveness in the industry. Complementary, this paper also come up with contributions to the academic field by providing an analysis of the interaction between Caribbean ports and other ports in different regions, focusing on their influence in the region and analyzing their most relevant features.

      • ANALYSIS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CRUISE PORTS’ NETWORK USING SNA

아드리아나 Incheon National University , Graduate School of L 2020 국내석사

        RANK : 84620

The Cruise industry in the Mediterranean region has increased between 2000 - 2018, being the second most important after the Caribbean. In order to see which ports are Hubs in the node network of the Mediterranean, this paper investigates the centrality of the Mediterranean port, a Hub and Authority index is proposed to classify the ports hub index and explore the centrality synthesis for the cruise shipping network in the Mediterranean region. For this purpose, this area has been explored multiple times for the economic, touristic and even environmental purposes. This paper uses the SNA Methodology, that includes Hub and Authority combined centrality (HACC) that has been used to analyze the problems of the cruise port centrality, as well as the Degree centrality, In- Degree and Out-Degree, and In Betweenness. The Empirical study suggests Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Corfu, La Valletta, Livorno, Naples, Palma de Mallorca, Piraeus, Southampton (in alphabetical order) that reproduce the essentials of Cruise Hub ports. For example, even if Barcelona has less out-degree than Civitavecchia, in terms of HACC (Hub ports index) is the first one. Southampton is one of the main homeports of the European network and connecting the Mediterranean Southern area of Europe as well as the Northern part with the Atlantic Ocean ports. Therefore, the British port connects this region with others as the Caribbean or Asian region. Even though, in terms of Authority and Hub index, other European ports have more attractiveness to the cruise industry in terms of weather or just because the passengers search for a different type of tourism. In terms of attractiveness it is found that ports located in the Western Mediterranean are more likely to be selected by the tourists as part of the route they want to experience. The implications of this paper can be divided in two types, academics and practical implications. The Academic implications that the study of the cruise ports in the Mediterranean, is the integration of the data based on real itineraries and POC (number of stops a vessel has), as well as the selection of the Hubs of the area. For the practical implications, with this study we can understand better that area is a clear requirement for the Cruise industry, as way to widen the scope for the Mediterranean and a reference for the cruise companies to choose the homeports and make the routes for the itineraries. Keywords: Cruise shipping, port centrality, social network analysis, Mediterranean cruise shipping market, spatial network patterns, Hub and authority index.
