This study emphasized the risk of the spread of infectious diseases in tertiary general hospitals belonging to the same medical center in Korea, and investigated problems arising from the questionnaire check process and the use of questionnaire check stickers. There are various problems with the questionnaire check sticker. Due to the low rate of sticker recovery, a large amount of questionnaire check stickers are left unattended near the tertiary general hospital, which is causing environmental problems. As tertiary general hospitals are using the same questionnaire check sticker design, there is a possibility of reuse between hospitals. The design of the questionnaire check sticker is simple, so it cannot be legally protected, so anyone can manufacture it and purchase it. In order to analyze the cause of the questionnaire check process and sticker use status, the problems were reaffirmed through reviews with a group of experts in medical, service design, and graphic design, and the cause analysis and supplementation plan were proposed. As a result of this study, a low-pollution sticker printing method was proposed, and in order to prevent the neglect of the questionnaire check sticker, a Touch Point with the hospital was found through a Customer Journey Map, and a safe disposal and return of the questionnaire check sticker was proposed through a service design. In order to prevent reuse of the questionnaire check sticker, it was proposed to design a radial destruction questionnaire check sticker. In addition, to prevent the production of stickers with similar designs, it was proposed to include hospital symbol marks and hospital names in the questionnaire confirmation sticker design.

Interior design companies in Seoul, Korea, senior level designers-designers shared leadership model has not been implemented by the design management. The whole interior design companies are worked each by a leadership team consisting of senior level designers, contractors and designers, being accountable for company, workers, and budgets. The results for workers’ opinion in leadership positions were evaluated. All 154 leading workers of all professional teams were anonymously interviewed with a questionnaire containing 45 items regarding their satisfaction with this new shared leadership model. The response rate was 96.2%. After all, the leading workers were satisfied with the shared leadership model both in their own designing practice and in general. Non-design workers were comprehensively more in favor of quite a few aspects of shared leadership than senior level designers, but even the latter reported to be generally satisfied. However, both professional teams estimated leading positions to be only modestly attractive. The consequences yield some evidence that the transform from traditional leadership models to the senior level designers -designers shared leadership model may have advantages in the management of interior design companies. Furthermore, there is a need for greater clarity about precisely what we mean by shared leadership and also a deeper exploration of potential challenges arising from shared leadership models if we are to try to come to terms with their practice.

최영옥 ( Young-ok Choi ) 기독교학문연구회 2020 신앙과 학문 Vol.25 No.4
C.I design refers to the visual representation of a company's identity. C.I design has become a global spotlight as the information age continues. The church also needs to introduce or renew its C.I design in line with this trend. Therefore, this study aims to explore the C.I design and its introduction into the church, and to provide a direction for the improvement of the church's C.I design through the survey. To this end, chapters 1 and 2 explained the background and theoretical background of the research, and chapters 3 and 4 conducted the research through the questionnaire. The survey was based on the C.I design of the church belonging to The Presbyterian Church in Korea(Baekseok). A survey was conducted on college students who took a C.I design class. The survey results showed that the need for the introduction of C.I design by domestic churches was strong, the unity of C.I design by denomination and church was emphasized, and the similarity of symbol marks was important for this. Also, for the improvement of church C.I design, a design study is needed on symbols that can express Christianity. Through designers with opinions and expertise, we confirmed the importance of C.I design that can effectively represent the identity of the church.

Background As the formation of Information Design became a generalized feature in design studies, with its analytical dimensions examined during 1990s, the tendency toward treating “information” as concept itself was what made the relational approach so important. Hence, it has become crucial to expound upon the very nature of information, that is, to reflect on information. It is because the issue of how much and how one can trust certain information have come to the fore. Information Design as specialized design related activities treating information, strives to propose excellence in methodology of communication centered on consumer or user, by representing the theme, object, phenomena, or their degree of change in efficient and sophisticated manners. Such methodology is based on “classification and analysis on information (on various subjects/phenomena)” and simultaneously, “setting-up of object(s)/issue(s)” to figure out the causality, and accuracy to support such setting-up, that is, to seek “certainty”. In order to make improvements for information design, we need an approach enabling the design practices to think about “the reality” of what is the information more creatively and correctly, why and how such information comes into being. Methods This paper analyzes documents and case studies on various applications of the aforementioned three notions in our life, in the fields of Sociology, Informatics, History and Philosophy of Science, Science and Technology Studies. And, epistemological and performative features and limits of the three notions will be analyzed. Furthermore, questionnaires enabling critical thinking on actual complexity will be proposed by Information Design experiments and practices based on scientific methodology, so that information and its establishment-pursuit, the “sociality” of interpretation cold be considered carefully. Results The practice of Information Design which treats information and visualizes the context is enabled by embodying scientific methodology and exploring, but it is difficult to overcome the complexity and uncertainty of the real. It is because the visualization of Information Design cannot avoid the schematization-establishment of mechanical causal relationship which form in the process of practice and the indication of input-output. Therefore, “(certain) Information Design” can be proposed/applied only limitatively under “specific condition (or standard)”. Conclusions The concept of actual complexity is simplified and becomes abstract through classification-analysis approach, theme determining, etc. during the process of designing and realizing Information Design. Hence, certainty is pursued but uncertainty is also at stake since the real situation, which is not/could not be revealed, exists at the opposite side. The intellectual activity of Information Design cannot avoid this result. Therefore, we should always have in mind that the hidden prevails over the shown, a plenty of unseen happens in the process of seeing. With such understanding, the attitude of “information” treating design practice would become much more prudent and enhanced. assumptions about this work as well as the environment must also change.

(Background and Purpose) Liberal arts education provided by universities is basic education that enables intellectuals to live in society. In the liberal arts education, design education is an important subject that cultivates creative problem-solving abilities and enables comprehensive and analytical thinking through reasoning. Therefore, the design education curriculum plays a more important role in cultivating creative talents than simple aesthetic style education. This study attempts to provide a foundation for liberal arts curriculum on the “Understanding of Design.” The focus is on the concept of design, the development of design, types of design, and an overall understanding of design. (Method) The educational contents of courses and related textbooks that present a design curriculum were analyzed. AHP analysis was then carried out by questionnaire survey on the importance of each item. Finally, a model of understanding undergraduate curriculum was presented based on the factors derived from the results of AHP analysis. (Results) In terms of importance through analysis of AHP, the importance of analysis in the top item was 0.296 in design theory, 0.258 in design history, 0.254 in design concept, and 0.192 in design field. This means that the theory of design is the most important. In the sub-items, the design concept is harmony, balance, rhythm, and emphasis. The principle of design is 0.248, which is the most important item to address. Next, design criteria, design factor, design classification, and design definition were listed. (Conclusions) Based on the results of the AHP questionnaire, I was able to construct the contents of the 15th class. The results of this study can be modified in accordance with the situation of each university. If there is on-the-spot learning and presentation of each task according to the instructor's lecture, it can be revised. the Understanding of Design is an important subject in liberal arts education that can allow students to express their creative abilities through creative thinking. Therefore, in the future, it is necessary to continue research on design-related liberal arts curriculum and to develop curriculum with various design contents. Material handling industry has changed drastically since the first introduction of forklift truck in 1933. Despite the change in its surrounding context of material handling industry, forklift truck design has not changed for decades. In order to design innovative concept design of the future forklift truck to match the changes, trends and technology research has been done to collect background knowledge regarding the industry and forklift design. In addition, questionnaire research was done to understand customer’s concerns and needs. Combining the findings and insights from the research phase, a new concept of a forklift truck design was proposed. The final design concept (including the modular cabin) consisted of a number of functional components such as overhead guard, engine/battery hood, hydraulic control, steering compartment, operator seat, etc. By modularizing the cabin, the economic benefit is expected to be 10~15% cost reduction per components consisting the cabin. The cabin could be connected to 4 different types of connection components to connect it to the chassis of the forklift truck. By doing this, one vehicle could adopt to 4 different material handling situations, which can offer customers with great benefit.
