        권총사격 시 상지 근피로 유발 수준에 따른 사격수행에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the upper limb muscle fatigue on the pistol shooting performance. Seventeen elite male players with members of the Korea national team were recruited for this study. Group A (23.0 ± 2.2 yrs, 68.4 ± 3.4 , 172.2 ± 1.4 cm) and Group B (27.1 ± 2.7 yrs, 77.0 ± 3.6 kg, 172.6 ± 2.0 cm) were randomly categorized. Both groups performed ten shots freely for 150 s toward the electronic target which was SCATT (SCATT Co., Russia). Group A took 1-set muscle fatigue exercise and group B did 3-set muscle fatigue exercises. After completed the 1-set or 3-set muscle fatigue isokinetic exercise on cybex (Humac Co., USA), all subjects immediately performed the shooting to electric target. In the group 4 the shooting time was significantly increased and the aiming period was inversely decreased (p<0.05), but the shooting score and aiming time was not affected from 1-set muscle fatigue exercise. However, in the group B, all variables (shooting time, aiming period, shooting score, and aiming time) were significantly decreased after 3-set muscle fatigue exercises (p<0.05). Maximum integrated EMG of deltoids and triceps were significantly increased at both groups A and group B after muscle fatigue exercise (p<0.05). Especially, in the group B, the triceps brachii was only significantly increased. Although the average integrated EMG was not significantly different in muscle fatigue exercise at the both groups, deltoids and triceps were relatively increased without the statistical significance. Therefore, the results of the current study suggest that the elite players elongate the aiming time to avoid the deteriorating shooting score in the weak level of muscle fatigue, but decrease both the aiming and the aiming time, and increase the aiming period with the deterioration of shooting score in the high level of muscle fatigue.

        Transient Effects of Calf Muscle Fatigue and Visual Control on Postural Balance During Single Leg Standing

        PURPOSE: Muscle fatigue is a cause to change proprioception. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of calf muscle fatigue and visual control on postural balance during single-legged standing in healthy adults. METHODS: Nineteen healthy adults (male) were participated in this study (mean age: 24.36 years; mean height: 171.32 cm; mean weight: 64.58 kg). The postural balance (sway length, sway area, sway velocity of COG displacement) was measured by Balance Trainer System (BT4) in before and after calf muscle fatigue feeling in single legged stance. In this study, repetitive single-legged heel rise test was used to induce fatigue of the calf muscle. Paired t- test was used to compare the postural balance between before and after calf muscle fatigue. Data of subjects were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Level of significance was set to .05. RESULTS: The sway length, sway area, sway velocity of COG (center of gravity) displacement after calf muscle fatigue feeling was significantly increased compared to before calf muscle fatigue feeling during single leg standing both eye open and close conditions (p<.05). CONCLUSION: This study suggested that calf muscle fatigue feeling has affected on postural balance when standing one leg both eye open and close conditions and postural control was disturbed by muscle fatigue and visual feedback in single leg standing.

        경피신경전기자극이 근피로에 의한 자세균형과 근수축력의 변화에 미치는 효과

        근피로는 자세균형과 근수축력의 악화를 유발하여 다양한 근골격계 손상을 초래한다. 본 연구는 하퇴삼두근 에 근피로 유발에 의한 자세불균형과 근수축력 저하에 경피신경전기자극이 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 2010년 3월부터 4개월간 전정계통과 시각계통에 문제가 없는 20명의 건강한 성인을 대상으로 반복운동 수행을 통하여 비복 근에 근피로를 유발하였고, 유발 후 즉시 경피신경전기자극을 적용하였다. 근피로 및 경피신경전기자극에 의한 자세 균형과 근수축력의 변화를 측정하기 위하여 자세동요 이동거리와 속도, 최대수의수축력을 사용하였다. 근피로 유발에 의하여 자세동요 이동거리 및 속도의 증가와 근수축력의 저하가 나타났다(p<.05). 근피로가 유발된 비복근에 경피신경 전기자극의 적용은 근피로에 의한 자세동요와 근수축력을 유의하게 개선하였다(p<.05). 이와 같은 연구결과를 통하여 족저굴곡근의 근피로는 자세균형과 근수축력에 관여되고, 경피신경전기자극은 근피로에 의한 자세불균형 및 근수축력 저하에 효과적임을 증명하였다. 경피신경전기자극은 일상생활에서 흔히 유발되는 근피로의 중재에 경피신경전기자극 이 효과적인 중재 방법으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Muscle fatigue often induces deterioration of postural balance and muscle contraction, such as strength or maximal voluntary contraction(MVC). This study was to investigate the effects of transcutaneous electrical stimulation(TENS) applied to the fatigued muscles on postural imbalance and decline in muscle strength following fatigue of triceps surae. For the 4 months from March, 2010, twenty healthy subjects without vestibular disease and visual disturbance were recruited and induced muscle fatigue of triceps surea performed by repeated voluntary contraction. TENS was applied to gastocnemius immediately after development of muscle fatigue. Postural sway length, velocity and MVC were recorded under these conditions: pre-fatigue, post-fatigue, and TENS application to fatigued muscle during post-fatigue. Muscle fatigue increased postural imbalance as expressed by sway length and velocity and decreased muscle contraction(p<.05), while TENS improved the postural imbalance and MVC following muscle fatigue during stance(p<.05). The results suggested that fatigue on plantar flexor is associated with postural balance and muscle contraction, and TENS application to fatigued muscle was effective in improving postural imbalance and decline in muscle strength following muscle fatigue. TENS will be an effective method in exercise, working environment and daily life.

        뼈대근육량과 근피로가 무릎관절 고유수용성 위치감각에 미치는 영향

        Purpose : Proprioceptive position sense plays a key role in providing joint stability, and multiple factors are related to proprioceptive position sense. Thus, this study aimed to determine the effects of body composition, particularly skeletal muscle mass on proprioceptive position sense following muscle fatigue. Methods : Healthy female subjects agreed to have their body composition analyzed. Only subjects who had 18.5-22.9 ㎏/㎡ of BMI (body mass index) were included in this study, and the participants were divided into two groups by skeletal muscle mass level. The experimental group had a level of skeletal muscle lower than the standard level (n=9), while the control group showed a standard or high level of skeletal muscle mass (n=11). To determine the change in proprioceptive position sense of the knee joint, the absolute angle error (AAE) was evaluated following muscle fatigue on low extremity. The muscle fatigue was induced by isokinetic resistance exercise program of Biodex system. AAE was measured by the Biodex system and compared the result before and after muscle fatigue. Results : The experimental group showed a significant AAE difference between before (3.16±2.48 °) and after (5.40±2.61 °) muscle fatigue. In addition, there was a AAE difference between the experimental (5.40±2.61 °) and control groups (3.53±1.67 °) after fatigue; however, there was no significance. Those results indicated that low level of skeletal muscle mass might influence the proprioceptive position sense of the knee joint after muscle fatigue. Conclusion : Thus, maintaining the proper level of skeletal muscle mass is pivotal to reduce the risk of injury following muscle fatigue in ADL or sport activities.

      • Force estimation in fatigue condition using a muscle-twitch model during isometric finger contraction

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We propose a force estimation method in fatigue condition using a muscle-twitch model and surface electromyography (sEMG). The twitch model, which is an estimate of force by a single spike, was obtained from sEMG features and measured forces. Nine healthy subjects performed isometric index finger abduction until exhaustion for a series of dynamic contractions (0–20% MVC) to characterize the twitch model and static contractions (50% MVC) to induce muscle fatigue. Muscle fatigue was identified based on the changes of twitch model; the twitch peak decreased and the contraction time increased as muscle fatigue developed. Force estimation performance in non-fatigue and fatigue conditions was evaluated and its results were compared with that of a conventional method using the mean absolute value (MAV). In non-fatigue conditions, the performance of the proposed method (0.90 ± 0.05) and the MAV method (0.88 ± 0.06) were comparable. In fatigue conditions, the performance was significantly improved for the proposed method (0.87 ± 0.05) compared with the MAV (0.78 ± 0.09).</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Muscle fatigue has a significant effect on the characteristics of sEMG in long-term contractions.. </LI> <LI> The proposed twitch model was used to detect muscle fatigue and estimate isometric finger force in fatigue condition. </LI> <LI> Based on manifestation of changes in the twitch model, proposed method could be used as an indicator of muscle fatigue. </LI> <LI> The force estimation with the twitch model showed superior results compared to a conventional method in fatigue condition. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Effect of Elastic Compression Stocking and Kinesio Taping during Heel-raise Exercise on Muscle Activity, Mechanical Properties, and Muscle Fatigue in Healthy Women

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the elastic compression stockings and Kinesio taping on muscle activity and mechanical properties in healthy women during the heel raise exercise that causes muscle fatigue. Methods: Participants were divided into the elastic compression stockings group (ESG, n=8), Kinesio taping group (KTG, n=8), and control group (CG, n=8). All participants performed the heel raise exercise to cause muscle fatigue. Muscle activity, stiffness, and the muscle tone of the gastrocnemius and tibialis anterior were measured before and after the heel raise exercise. Results: In the gastrocnemius, muscle activity was significantly increased after the heel raise exercise in both the ESG and KTG (p<0.05). There was a significant difference in the change in the gastrocnemius muscle activity between the groups (p<0.05). Post hoc analysis showed that the ESG exhibited a significantly greater change in gastrocnemius muscle activity than the CG (p<0.05). The muscle stiffness of the gastrocnemius was significantly decreased after the heel raise exercise in the ESG (p<0.05). The muscle tone of the gastrocnemius was significantly increased after the heel raise exercise in the control group (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in the change in the gastrocnemius stiffness and muscle tone between the groups (p>0.05). In the tibialis anterior, there were no significant differences in muscle activity, stiffness, and muscle tone between and within the groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the use of elastic compression stockings and Kinesio taping during the heel raise exercise are beneficial and delay muscle fatigue in the gastrocnemius.

        전신 진동 운동을 병행한 스쿼트 운동이 무릎넙다리 통증 증후군 환자의 넙다리네갈래근의 근 활성도 및 피로도에 미치는 영향

        PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental clinical data to be used in therapeutic approach to patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome by administrating the squat exercise combined with whole body vibration exercise to them and investigating the effect of such exercise to leg muscle activity and muscle fatigue. METHODS: The patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome were randomly assigned to experimental group I (n = 9) where only squat exercise was administered and experimental group II (n = 9) where the squat exercise combined with whole body vibration exercise was provided. The intervention program was administered for two weeks, four days a week, one session a day, three set a session, and 20 reps a set. The pre- and post-test were performed to measure muscle activity and muscle fatigue of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis. RESULTS: The muscle activity significantly changed in both group (p < .05, p < .01, respectively) and the muscle fatigue showed significant change only in group I (p < .05). In addition, there was significant difference between groups in change of muscle fatigue of both muscles (p < .05) but not in change of muscle activity. CONCLUSION: The results showed that both exercise are effective in improving muscle activity, however, that the squat exercise combined with whole body vibration exercise is more effective in preventing muscle fatigue.

        등척성수축으로 근피로 유발 후 스트레칭과 마사지가 근수축력 회복에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The present study purposed to examine the effects of massage and stretching on the recovery of muscle contraction force for muscle fatigue caused by sustained isometric contraction. Methods: The subjects of this study Were 64 healthy men and women (women: 30, men: 34). They Were divided into massage group (23), stretching group (21) and rest group (20), and using Biodex System we observed the pattern of changes in maximal voluntary contraction force (MVC) after causing muscle fatigue in quadriceps femoris muscle through sustained isometric contraction. Results: We measured the point of fatigue occurrence by sustained isometric contraction with 50% MVC and changes in isometric contraction force at 0, 10, 20 and 30 minutes after fatigue and compared them according to gender and treatment group. Conclusion: 1. According to the result of measuring the point of time when fatigue occurred, a difference was observed in time to task failure between men and women. It was significantly longer in women. 2. By gender, MVC changed significantly in all time frames in women, but it showed significant increases only at 10 minutes after fatigue in men. 3. In the comparison of MVC among the treatment groups, it showed significant differences among the groups at 10 minutes after fatigue. 4. In the comparison of changes in MVC among the time frames for each group, the rest group showed significant differences in MVC between 0 and 10 minutes after fatigue and between 20 and 30 minutes after fatigue. The massage group showed significant differences in MVC between 0 and 10 minutes after fatigue and between 10 and 20 minutes after fatigue. The stretching group showed a significant difference in MVC between 10 and 20 minutes after fatigue and between 20 and 30 minutes after fatigue.

        Influence of Unilateral Muscle Fatigue in Knee and Ankle Joint on Balance and Gait in Healthy Adults

        Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of unilateral muscle fatigue in knee and ankle joints on balance and gait in healthy adults. Methods: Exercise inducing muscle fatigue in the knee joint consisted of concentric and eccentric contraction of dominant knee extensors in healthy adults by using the Leg Extension Rehap exercise machine (HUR, Finland). Exercise inducing muscle fatigue in the ankle joint was composed of voluntary contractions and forced contractions of the dominant plantar flexors in healthy adults. Exercises to induce muscle fatigue in the knee and ankle joints were performed until the subject complained of fatigue or pain, the occurrence of muscle fatigue was confirmed by electromyography. We measured static and dynamic balance using the Good Balance system and gait performance by RS-scan. Results: Static and dynamic balance ability and spatial-temporal gait decreased significantly after muscle fatigue in knee and ankle joint. Conclusion: These results show that unilateral muscle fatigue of the lower extremities affected postural control and gait. Therefore, therapists and sport trainers should minimize the risks of fall and injuries related to unilateral muscle fatigue.

        무릎 근육의 근피로가 정상 성인의 균형에 미치는 영향

        Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the effects muscle fatigue at the knee muscles on balance during standing in healthy adults. Methods Thirty healthy adults were recruited along with their written informed consent. Subjects were randomly assigned to knee extensor group (fatigue on knee extensor, KE), and knee flexor group (fatigue on knee flexor, KF). And subjects performed exercise with each muscle group until muscle fatigue was induced. They were assessed balance ability by functional reaching test (FRT), limit of stability (LOS), and postural sway (one leg standing, normal eye open (NO), normal eye close (NC), pillow with eye open (FO), and pillow with eye close (FC)) before and after fatigue. Results There were significant group differences balance performances in FRT, anterior of limit of stability, one leg standing, and the muscle fatigue of knee muscles were decreased balance performances. The balance performance was affected by visual sense and proprioception. Conclusions These results show that the muscle fatigue of knee muscles decreased balance performance. Therefore, balance exercise program should be trained without muscle fatigue. (J Korean Med Rehabil 2018;28(2):105-111)
