        읽기 발달 연구에서 질적 연구 방법의 의미

        이 연구의 목적은 읽기 교육 연구에 있어 최근 연구 경향인 질적 연구 방법론의 의미에 대한 탐색에 있다. 연구자가 ``독자``요인에 주목하여 진행하고 있는 읽기 발달 연구의 방법론에 대해 살핀 메타 연구이다. 읽기 발달 연구에 질적 연구 방법론을 적용하는 것이 연구 전체에서 갖는 의미는 첫째, 인간 이해로서의 아동독자 연구의 의미를 가진다. 읽기 발달의 과정을 학습자 자신의 목소리로 들려줄 수 있다는 것이다. 둘째, 읽기 부진 등 소외된 학습자의 사고 과정 관찰의 의미를 가진다. 읽기 부진아인 아동독자의 사고 과정을 살피면서 부진의 원인을 밝히고, 읽기 교수학습의 원리 도출 등에 유용한 기반 지식이 될 수 있다. 셋째, 개인 내적 읽기 능력 변화를 관찰이 가능하다. 6명의 아동독자들을 시간의 흐름에 따라 성장, 발달하는 변화의 모습을 지속적으로 관찰하고 기록함으로써 읽기 능력이 각 개별 학습자별로 변화하는 양상을 좀 더 면밀하게 살필 수 있다. 넷째, 읽기 교육 실천 연구자인 교사의 성찰적 반추의 의미를 가진다. 연구자의 성찰 일기와 현장 텍스트를 질적으로 살피고, 이후 읽기 교육의 원리와 읽기 교재 구성의 원리를 끌어낼 수 있다. 요컨대, 읽기 발달 연구에 질적 연구 방법을 적용하는 것은 인간이해, 생태학적 읽기 교육의 단초를 마련하고, 읽기 교사 자신이 참된 교사가 되어가는 과정으로서의 읽기 교육의 면모를 가능케 한다. 이것은 읽기 교수학습 개선과 읽기 교재의 수정과 재구성에 이론적 기틀을 마련할 수 있게 한다. The purpose of this study is to investigate for the meaning of Qualitative Research on the reading development study. It is a meta study for a reading development method to be interested in child-reader. The signification for the application of qualitative research on the reading development study is to let himself hear a voice of a leaner during the process of reading development when we study for child reader as a understanding humans. Moreover, the qualitative research on the reading development study is a meaning method for the observation on the process of thinking of children with underachievement in reading. It can be a valuable basement knowledge for the theory deduction of the teaching and learning method of reading. The qualitative research on the reading development study is possible to survey a individual internal variation of reading ability. This study surveyed a individual internal variation of reading ability with the lapse of time on six child-readers. The qualitative research on the reading development study is the meaning for self reflection of a teacher as a researcher of reading education. As we practice a qualitative research for the self reflection diary and the field text of a researcher, we can search a theory of reading education and reading text structure. In short, the qualitative research on the reading development study is possible to prepare a beginning of a human comprehension and ecological reading education, perceive a signification of reading education. this study can provide a theorical foundation for the improvement of reading education method and the restruction of reading text.

        Exploring Disability Facilities’ Services for PWDs in Kenya: An In-depth Interview Study Sukkyung Shin* Abstract: This study aims to investigate the range of community services offered by disability facilities for people with disabilities (PWDs) in Kenya and to identity key insights through interviews. In this qualitative study, the researcher used semi-structured in-depth interviews to collect data and selected participants through purposeful sampling with maximum variation. Data were collected through Individual Interviews were conducted with two practitioners employed at distinct disability facilities of Nairobi in Kenya. The implications obtained through the interviews in this study are as follow. First, the disability facilities in Kenya, as those in developing countries, emphasize a variety of community-based rehabilitation services. Second, there are many differences in disability services between regions. Third, practitioners who are involved in the disability facilities must have acquired disability-related service certification or completed related training. This paper finally presents limitations of the study.         ‘청소년학연구’의 질적연구 동향분석 –1994년부터 2014년까지

        This study is an analysis of 95 qualitative studies that published in “Korean Journal of Youth Studies” of Korea Youth Research Association during the last 21 years. The purpose of the study was to investigate the trends of qualitative research in the journal. The results of this study will provide the basis to discuss the policy as well as practical suggestions that can increase the quality of qualitative research in the field of youth studies. The research question was "What is qualitative research trends in youth research?" As for research framework, we referred various qualitative research methods and classification. As for the sequence of the study, basic data survey was carried out first. The following analysis was conducted for research purposes by research trends and methodologies. Finally, we analysed research ethics and rigor of the studies. The results indicated that the conditions in performing qualitative study in the field of youth studies have been improved. Nonetheless, it was indicated that Korea Youth Research Association should make additional efforts to improve the research infrastructure for qualitative studies. We made several suggestions based on these results. Since we targeted only the Korean Journal of Youth Studies, the results cannot be generalized to the rest of the youth research. The significance of this study is that this study is the initial effort to analyze the academic trends in qualitative research in the field of youth studies. 본 연구는 1994년부터 2014년까지 21년 동안 ‘한국청소년학회’에서 발간하는 ‘청소년학연구’에 게재된 논문 중에서, 질적연구 방법을 활용한 논문 95편을 대상으로 연구 동향을 살폈다. 연구 목적은 질적연구의 토양을 조성하기 위해 기초 자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 분석의 틀은 타 학문의 질적연구 방법의 분류표를 참고하고, 청소년학계의 주제별·대상별 지표, 청소년의 생활세계 공간 등도 준거로 활용하였다. 연구결과 기초자료 조사에서는, ‘청소년학연구’의 질적연구가 증가세를 보이고 있었다. 연구목적별 경향 분석에서는 연구자들이 주로 ‘경험의 의미 이해’를 추구하고, ‘전략 개발과 모델 연구’도 구축해 나갔다. 청소년의 생활세계 공간 분석에서는 주로 ‘학교와 교육 관련’ 공간이 연구주제로 선정되지만, 사회적 공간을 탐색하는 노력도 발견되었다. 연구방법별 분석의 경우 현상학적 방법론이 주로 사용되었으나, 특정 이론의 주창자 혹은 대표학자의 분석 틀에 지나치게 의존하는 쏠림현상도 발견되었다. 자료수집의 방식 또한 일정하게 정형화되어 갔다. 연구윤리와 엄밀성 분석에서는 ‘참여자와 연구자의 공동 검토’ 현상을 발견할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 몇 가지의 제언을 하였다. 본 연구는 청소년학계에서 최초로, ‘청소년학연구’의 질적연구 동향을 분석한 시도라는 점에서 의의가 있다.

        사회과학 초보 연구자의 질적 연구 수행경험: 사전연구 경험을 바탕으로

        The purpose of this study is to introduce a pilot study in the aspect of research methodology and to investigate the difficulties and the methodological issues in the progress of the qualitative research which was realized while carrying out the pilot study. The pilot study is a small-scale methodological experiment conducted to prepare a main study, and it is a preliminary study to determine whether a topic of interest to the researcher can be a realistic and feasible. Despite its usefulness, the pilot study has not been adequately discussed in the qualitative research methodology textbooks. Based on the actual experience of a novice researcher who is a Chinese student, the purpose of this study was to emphasize the usefulness and value of the pilot study in carrying out the qualitative research. 본 연구의 목적은 연구방법론 차원에서 사전연구에 대해 소개하고, 사전연구를 수행하면서 깨닫게 된 질적 연구 진행 과정상의 어려움과 방법론적인 문제들을 구체적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 사전연구란 주 연구(main study)를 준비하기 위해 실시하는 소규모의 방법론적 실험이며, 연구자가 관심을 갖고 있는 주제가 현실적으로 수행 가능한 연구 질문이 될 수 있는지 파악하기 위한 예비적 연구이다. 사전연구는 그 유용성에도 불구하고, 질적 연구 방법론 교재에서 충분히 논의되지 않고 있다. 본 연구를 통해 중국 유학생인 초보 연구자의 실제 경험을 바탕으로 질적 연구를 수행하는 데 있어 사전연구의 유용성 및 가치를 강조하고자 하였다.

        특수형태근로종사자의 감정노동에 관한 연구 : 학습지교사를 중심으로

        This study is a qualitative research that identifies a home study teacher’s adaptive capacity and limitations based on the understanding regarding various and unique experiences of emotional labor which is required in a home study teacher’s workplace. This study’s participants are 12 home study teachers who are working in each three companies. Data were collected by 12 in-depth interviews that has derived 21 theme clusters and lastly 6 categories, using Giorgi phenomenological method of data analysis. The main categories ‘seeking hope in the job search’, ‘facing a big gap between reality and ideal’, ‘confirming the identity in ones’ own way’, ‘the influence of burnout’, ‘emotional labor strategies’, and ‘mind-punctuating and re-reaping. This study’s result shows that the home study teacher is required to adjust emotional labor. It also shows that the home study teacher’s is making an efforts to overcome his or her burnout caused by emotional labor. Finally, this study will be used as a base data which seeks for social work service and practical plan regarding adjustment and limitation of the strategies in the home study teacher’s emotional labor belong to special type workers.

        학교부적응 청소년의 희망진로 변천과정에 관한 질적사례연구

        This investigated study is about what was affected to school maladjusted juveniles while there are deciding and changing there career in the past through their career history. Understanding choice processes of teenagers who could't adjusted to a school, this study will be provide base information for alternative plans of career counseling and instruction programs. For this study, a pre-study operated with seven school maladjusted students who live in Chung-Nam region. This preceding study used for enhance researcher’s experiments and base information to this study. The preceding study analyzed the record from free style talking with them about their career choice procedures. Through the analysis of the record, it could prepare the researcher’s interview skills, range of subjects and key point questions for this study. There are mainly researched problems of this study from six school maladjusted students who are disrupted to study among Chung-Nam regional. First of all, the study analyzed the history of each student’s hoped career. Especially, there is interesting result that shows similar behaviors between personalities occur maladjustment in the school and the process choosing or abandoning their future career. Through this study which investigated about school maladjusted teenagers’career choice process, there are teenagers only can find the hope of the future career from the hard school life in our real situation, and through this research. This study suggested that we need not only solve their school maladjustment, but also we should raise their abilities to solve and plan their own future career confidently by the career instruction and counseling. 본 연구는 질적사례연구방법을 통하여 학교부적응 청소년의 희망진로 변천과정을 살펴봄으로써 이들의 진로선택 특성을 이해하고, 적합한 진로상담을 모색할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하려는데 목적이 있다. 구체적으로 세 가지 연구문제를 살펴보았는데, 첫째, 학교부적응 청소년들은 어떤 진로들을 희망해왔고, 희망하는 진로내용의 특징은 무엇인가? 둘째, 학교부적응 청소년들이 희망 진로를 선택하는 주요 계기는 무엇인가? 셋째, 학교부적응 청소년들이 희망했던 진로를 포기하는 주요 이유는 무엇인가? 이다. 충남지역 학교부적응 청소년 7명을 대상으로 예비연구를 실시하였고, 본 연구에서는 학교로부터 징계처분을 받은 학교부적응 청소년 6명을 면담하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 연구참여 청소년들이 희망했던 진로 내용은 제각기 다양하였으나 학교에 부적응을 일으키는 개인적 성향과, 희망진로를 선택하고 포기하는 과정에서 보여지는 성향이 매우 유사함을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 희망하는 진로를 선택하게 되는 계기는 ‘즉흥적인 결정’, ‘직업에 대한 편견이나 오해’, ‘직접적인 경험이나 체험’, ‘매체의 영향’, ‘모델링’, ‘주변의 권유’ 등으로 발견되었다. 셋째, 과거 희망하던 진로를 포기하게 된 주요 이유는 ‘다른 관심사가 생김’, ‘인내심 부족으로 인한 포기’, ‘이상과 현실이 다름을 인식함’, ‘주변의 지지부족으로 인한 자신감 상실’, ‘환경적인 제약’, ‘생각하던 진로가 아님을 깨달음’ 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 학교부적응 청소년들의 상담 및 교육 프로그램에 시사하는 점을 논의 하였다.

        패션 브랜드 모바일 SNS의 특성에 관한 실험적인 질적 연구 : 모바일 페이스북(Facebook)을 중심으로

        This study was an experimental qualitative study on the characteristics of fashion brand`s mobile SNS. The study was focused on mobile Facebook and identified the characteristics of fashion brand`s mobile SNS. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 people in the 20s, who have used fashion brand`s mobile Facebook application and currently live in Seoul or Gyeonggi province. After analysis of the in-depth interview data, four characteristics of fashion brand`s mobile SNS were identified as follows. First, it was possible to access fashion brand`s mobile SNS at any time anywhere, if users needed brand-related information. In this study, this characteristic was named ‘fashion accessibility’. Second, it was possible to access update-information using fashion brand`s mobile SNS or get up-to-date information about the brand in real-time. In this study, this characteristic was named ‘fashion recentness’. Third, it was possible to store or capture fashion brand-related images and texts. In this study, this characteristic was named ‘ease of storage of fashion data’. Fourth, fashion brand`s mobile SNS was useful in various ways to fashion consumers, so this characteristic was named ‘fashion usefulness’ in this study. The study extracted 10 sub-characteristics of the characteristics of fashion brand`s mobile SNS based on the results of a qualitative study. This study has significant value which suggests directions for future research. Also, this paper is expected to provide managerial implications to fashion companies that need to develop mobile SNS marketing strategies.

        질적연구를 위한 ‘연구자의 준비’에 대한 소고

        ‘연구(study)’는 연구 결과 도출의 접근방법에 따라서, ‘질적연구(qualitative study)’와 ‘양적연구(quantitative study)’로 구분할 수 있다. ‘질적연구’의 연구자는 현상에 대한 다양한 사건·사고에 대하여 ‘사물을 있는 그대로를 바라볼 수 있는(seeing things as they are)’ 안목이 필요하다. 이러한 안목은 연구자의 연구력이 전제되어야만 가능하기에 질적연구에서는 ‘연구자의 준비(researcher preparation)’가 중요한 선행조건이라고 할 수 있다. 질적연구를 수행하기 위해서는 연구 과정에서 연구자의 주관(opinion)이 필요하고, 일련의 주관은 신뢰성과 타당성을 근거한 ‘연구자의 준비’에서 출발한다. 즉, 질적연구의 수행을 위해서 그 주관을 객관화할 수 있고, 주관에 대한 합리성을 담보할 수 있는 연구자의 ‘역량(competence)’이 연구방법(method) 이상의 연구방법론(methodology)이기 때문이다. 여기서 역량은 ‘지속적인 학습과 훈련된 역량’으로 이와 관련한 ‘연구자의 준비’를 소제목으로 구성하여 연구결과에 대한 ‘신뢰성(reliability)’과 ‘타당성(validity)’을 담보할 수 있어야 한다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 질적연구를 수행하는 데 있어서 연구결과에 대한 신뢰성 및 타당성의 근거가 되는 ‘연구자의 준비’에 대하여 논하고, 일련의 연구자의 준비를 위한 방안을 제시하였다. ‘Study’ can be divided into ‘qualitative study’ and ‘quantitative study’ depending on the approach to deriving research results. Researchers in ‘qualitative research’ need to have the perspective to ‘see things as they are’ regarding various incidents and accidents related to phenomena. Since this kind of insight is possible only on the premise of the researcher's research ability, 'researcher preparation' can be said to be an important prerequisite in qualitative research. In order to conduct qualitative research, the researcher's opinion is necessary during the research process, and a series of opinions begins with the researcher's preparation based on reliability and validity. In other words, for the performance of qualitative research, the researcher's ‘competence’ to be able to objectify the subjectivity and ensure the rationality of the subjectivity is a research methodology more than a research method. Here, the competency is ‘continuous learning and trained competency,’ and related ‘researcher preparation’ should be organized as a subheading to ensure ‘reliability’ and ‘validity’ of the research results. Accordingly, this study discussed ‘researcher preparation’, which is the basis for the reliability and validity of research results when conducting qualitative research, and presented a series of measures for researcher preparation.

        질적 연구와 디자인의 방법론적 비교

        This paper focuses on the relationship between each methods used as a part of design research and the system of qualitative study. Qualitative study recognize the world through its unique paradigm, which the basement of its methodologies comparing with that of quantitative study. Quantitative study adapt its research logic such as controled experiment and quantitative analysis, that are useful to research the natural world, to human phenomenon. Qualitative study, however, denies that and takes people’s eye to view their inner mind to the world. In order to achieve that, qualitative study suggests three strategies of its methodologies : relativism, subjectivism, and naturalism. As the result of conducting the comparison between qualitative study and design, they have quite similar aspects on their methodologies and some suggestions to each other, even though one aims to understanding human phenomenon and another to the construction of artificial world. In particular, the relationship that was started from the adapting individual methods of qualitative study to design needs to expand to considering the epistemology. 본고는 최근 디자인리서치의 요소로서 사용되는 개별적 방법들이 질적 연구의 체계와 갖는 연관성에 주목한다. 양적 연구와 대비되는 질적 연구는 자신만의 독특한 패러다임을 바탕으로 세계를 인식하며 그러한 인식론은 고유 방법론의 토대가 된다. 질적 연구는 양적 연구가 자연계에 적용했던 실험과 양적분석의 구조를 인간현상에 까지 적용하려는 시도를 거부하고, 세계를 바라보는 인간의 내면을 그 사람의 눈으로 이해하고자 하는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 이를 위해서 질적 연구는 다수의 실재가 존재한다는 상대주의적 존재론, 연구자와 참여자가 공동의 이해를 형성한다는 주관주의적 인식론, 맥락에 따라 연구방법 및 절차의 유연성을 전제로 한 자연주의적 접근을 방법론의 핵심으로 삼고 있다. 디자인과 질적 연구의 비교 검토 결과 현상의 이해가 목적인 질적 연구와 인공세계의 구성에 관심을 두고 있는 디자인이 방법론적 측면에서 상당한 유사성을 보이고 있으며, 상호 시사점이 있음을 밝혔다. 차후 디자인은 개별 방법으로 시작된 질적 연구와의 관계가 인식론적으로 확대될 필요성 또한 확인하였다.

        특수교육 분야의 질적 사례연구 동향과 과제

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the overall trend of qualitative case studies in the field of special education listed in domestic education-related journals and to present the direction of future research. Method: The papers to be analyzed are 51 qualitative case studies in the field of special education listed 31 domestic education-related journals, and analysis factors were used to analyze trends by year and journal, trends by research topic, and characteristics of research methods. The research findings through data analysis are as follows. Results: As a result of the studies, qualitative case studies in the field of special education in Korea have conducted in the field of various special education, treatment education, general education, and social welfare, with the research of subject education and instruction-learning strategy and the research related to family support accounting for the largest portion. Single-total case studies and technical - descriptive studies were the most common research design and type in research methods, and interview studies were the most frequently conducted in special schools for special education teachers and students with intellectual disabilities. In addition, it was found that various methods were used to secure the trustworthiness of qualitative case studies. Conclusion: Based on the above findings, qualitative case studies in the field of special education should present research designs and types so that the research methodological elements of qualitative case studies can be clearly revealed, and as it is a study on a specific case, systemicity and concreteness need to be clearly described so that the boundary between temporality and spatiality of the case can be clearly revealed. And finally, in order to secure the truthfulness of the research, detailed comments are required on the data collection process and the verification method.
