        공학교육인증제(ABEEK)와 과정ㆍ통합형 수업 모델 개발

        This study is on the new model of Writing Education in the University Engineering Department. It is very important for the students in engineering colleges to write specific papers dealing with their majors. The writing education in the university is focusing on the Accreditation for Engineering Education. Many the university engineering department has adopted the Accreditation Board Engineering Education of Korea. The subject of writing need to keep pace with the Accreditation Board Engineering Education of Korea. The Accreditation Board Engineering Education of Korea has made stand the standard of engineering education. Specially, they have emphasized three rules; first focusing on the students, second focusing on the performance and third focusing on the valuation. Most of all, they demand the peed~back system in all of courses. The subject of writing is the process. The Accreditation Board Engineering Education of Korea also thinks 'the process' important. Therefore professors for engineering writing must develop the teaching skills and methods. Especially It needs to start basic writing courses. Because basic writing course is different from other majors not engineering. This paper made a proposal about new model of an outline in engineering writing using in practical situation. It was related with a process that students discussed together and amended their works several times.

        <工學글쓰기>의 새로운 位相定立을 위한 考察

        This paper aims to suggest a new model about <Engineering Writing> which is offered for engineering students. Engineering Writing is a required subject as one of the many engineering literacy subjects in College of Engineering for Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea. Usually in College of Engineering Writing course as a communi- cation course is composed of 2 steps. The first step is ‘Basic Writing’ as a foundation subject and second step is ‘Engineering Writing’(or Science Writing, Technical Writing) as a higher level only for the students belonging to Science College and Engineering college. It is necessary to devide the students which have different abilities. In addition to the 2 step-course in writing, this paper offers a suggestion for the members of the lessons. In Engineering Writing as a second step, all the students irrelevant to major field of study must be needed to join the members of the lesson. In such a lesson students obtain various ways of thinking, writing, speaking, search- ing and presentations. It is the first merit of this model. And secondly it is efficient to educate ‘problem based learning’ that is required by all faculties of university recently. Above all it can satisfy the College of General Edu- cation which has required education with wide latitude and the College of Engineering which has required education with more technical knowledges. 본 논문은 工學認證制의 施行으로 각 大學에서 開設되고 있는 工學素養科目 중 ‘工學글쓰기’의 새로운 모델을 제시하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 각 대학에서는 基礎글쓰기의 다음 단계로 專攻連繫型 글쓰기를 상정하고 있으며, 공과대학에서 이에 해당하는 교과목이 ‘工學글쓰기(통칭)’이다. 그간 工學글쓰기는 技術的 글쓰기 및 科學글쓰기 중에서 학교의 사정에 맞게 選擇되어 왔다. 그러나 필자는 基礎글쓰기로 ‘技術的 글쓰기’를 深化글쓰기로 ‘工學글쓰기’를 설정하고, 旣存의 方式과 달리 ‘工學글쓰기’를 모든 專攻에 開放하는 방식을 提案한다. 이와 같은 방식의 長點은 현재 글쓰기 수업의 目標라 할 問題中心學習의 效果를 效率的으로 達成할 수 있다는 것, 敎養領域과 專攻領域이 모두 滿足할 수 있는 授業模型이 됨으로써 敎養의 多樣性과 학생들의 問題解決能力을 向上시키는 方法이 될 수 있다는 점이다.

        공학교육인증과 NCS 기반 교육과정의 이해

        Since ABEEK ("Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea") began its accreditation in 2001, the 595 programs in 100 institutions have been accredited, and now the number of accredited programs is continuously increasing. On the other hand, NCS ("National Competency Standards") which is directed by government, has been also introduced in recent years, and it becomes the center of attentions of many universities in Korea. Each of these 2 systems has its own strengths and weaknesses, even though their main purposes are very similar. This paper deals with the comparison between the curriculum based on NCS with ABEEK. And also, the examples of making the curriculum based on the NCS would be introduced. At the conclusion, some suggestions for the new NCS system would be proposed.

        Analysis of Learning Process and Achievement for Environmental Microbiology Taught in English as a Basis of Environmental Science and Technology

        The objective of this study was to evaluate Environmental microbiology (EM) as a basic course for the environmental engineering program of Korea Maritime University which has been accredited by Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK). Evaluation result of the lecture objectives was more than the average (3.5/5.0). The overall score for learning achievement assessment was more than average level of learning achievement (3.4/5.0). Interestingly, engineering design implementation regarding a specific topic as an extensive learning process has proven to be more effective (3.5/5.0). Some of effective class improvement strategies suggested were to encourage students to participate in the class with self-motivation and accountability: preview and review of the lecture, team presentation in English-speaking settings, and submitting project report written in English. In the future class of EM, test and evaluation of application capability of EM and environmental biotechnology (EB) theories to engineering problem solving should be emphasized.

        안드로이드 플랫폼 기반의 경력관리시스템 구축

        본 논문에서는 MBTI, 적성검사 결과와 외국어(TOEIC, 회화, 작문) 능력 등을 관리하고, 재학기간 동안 현장실습, 인턴십, 프로젝트 참여, 졸업작품전, 공모전 수상 등의 실적을 관리할 수 있는 안드로이드 플랫폼 기반의 경력관리시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 경력관리시스템은 서버와 클라이언트 모듈로 나누어진다. 첫 번째 서버 모듈은 경력관리시스템의 웹 사이트를 구축한다. 이 웹 사이트는 학생 개인의 경력 관련 데이터를 저장하는 기능을 한다. 두 번째 클라이언트 모듈은 안드로이드 플랫폼 기반의 앱을 개발 한다.이 앱은 학생 개인의 경력 관련 정보에 쉽게 접근하여 항상 새로운 데이터를 유지 관리할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 경력관리시스템을 활용한다면 대학의 관련 부서들이 학생 서비스 기능을 활성화 할 수 있고, 학생들의 부가가치를 높임으로써 취업 경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있다. In this paper, we propose a CMS(Career Management System) based on the Android Platform, which is able to manage the result of MBTI, an aptitude test and English skills such as TOEIC, conversation, writing, etc. and to deal with the performance of the on-the-job practice, internship, project participation, graduation exhibition, contest exhibition, etc. during the period of attendance at school, This system is divided into the server module and the client one. First, the server module is used to build up the web site of the CMS that can serve to save the data related to each student's career. Second, the client module is to develop the application based on the Android Platform. This application can easily access the career-related information and always function as maintaining and managing the new data. If we make good use of the CMS proposed in this study, the relevant departments and bureaus in colleges and universities can activate the service capacity and also enhance the employment competitiveness by adding value to the students.
