      • A Study on Smart Home Services and Devices

        Recently, many researches have been steadily undertaken to improve the quality of life in people. They are mainly developed to support the lifestyle at home. The smart home consists of technologies conjugated with various electronic appliances and services, and through the natural interaction of the home and people, provides a useful life related service in a human-centered environment. The purpose of the smart home is providing them with a better home life experience. We investigated a projects in various countries related on smart homes, as well as the associated services and devices. Smart home service has been designed to optimize the comfort and safety of resident through individual smart devices. Resident can use numerous intelligent devices in smart home. They can monitor and control the home environment through intelligent devices. Many smart homes have been developed to support elderly living at home. A variety of assistive devices are also being developed to help elderly deal with a reduction or loss of mobility, vision, hearing, and cognitive ability. All these researches related to smart home can assist elderly with reduced physical functions and help resolve the social isolation they face. In other words, latest smart home research has been placing the objective of maintaining good health and independence for elderly. Based on the results of research in various countries related to smart homes, we investigated smart home of Korea and compared them with service of other countries. The study is looking forward to be the reference data for design of advanced smart home applications and will contribute to the improvement of the convenience and satisfaction of the elderly.

      • 사설IP 기반 홈네트워크에서 세션이동성 지원의 적응적인 SIP 응용서버 시스템 구조 설계

        The home network is generally separated from the Internet, as it is made up of a private network due to security issues and the lack of IPv4 addresses space. Also, a user may want to move from a terminal to another terminal connected in the home network during communicating with people outside the home. In this case, people connected in the Internet, or another home network could not communicate the user at the home. These limitations prevent a SIP-capable device connected in the home network from communicating with another SIP-capable device connected in the Internet or the outside of the home network. To overcome the limitations, This paper proposes the Adaptive SIP Application Server System as a software architecture that a user inside of the home can communicate with people outside of the home when the home is composed of a private IP-based network. Moreover, the proposed architecture provides the session mobility that allows the user to maintain a media session even if changing the terminal inside of the home during the session established. The proposed system was implemented over a home server device which acts functionality as a connection point for transmitting IP packets between a home network and the Internet.

        홈 웰니스 로봇의 사물인터넷 기반 지능형 자기 위치 및 자세 제어

        This paper is to technically implement the sensing platform for Home-Wellness Robot. First, self-localization technique is based on a smart home and object in a home environment, and IOT(Internet of Thing) between Home Wellness Robots. RF tag is set in a smart home and the absolute coordinate information is acquired by a object included RF reader. Then bluetooth communication between object and home wellness robot provides the absolute coordinate information to home wellness robot. After that, the relative coordinate of home wellness robot is found and self-localization through a stereo camera in a home wellness robot. Second, this paper proposed fuzzy control methode based on a vision sensor for approach object of home wellness robot. Based on a stereo camera equipped with face of home wellness robot, depth information to the object is extracted. Then figure out the angle difference between the object and home wellness robot by calculating a warped angle based on the center of the image. The obtained information is written Look-Up table and makes the attitude control for approaching object. Through the experimental with home wellness robot and the smart home environment, confirm performance about the proposed self-localization and posture control method respectively. 본 논문에서는 스마트 홈 환경 내에서 웰니스 로봇의 이동을 위한 로봇의 사물인터넷 기반 지능형 자기위치인식 및 자세제어 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 자기위치인식 방법은 스마트 홈, 홈 환경 내 위치하고 있는 물체, 홈 웰니스 로봇 간의 사물인터넷을 기반으로 하는 방법을 제안한다. 스마트 홈에 RF태그를 설치하고 환경 내 물체에 RF 리더를 내장하여 환경 내 물체의 절대좌표 정보를 획득하고, 물체와 홈 웰니스 로봇간 블루투스 통신을 이용하여 물체의 절대좌표 정보를 홈 웰니스 로봇에 제공한 후, 홈 웰니스 로봇에 장착되어 있는 스테레오 카메라를 통해서 물체를 기준으로 한 홈 웰니스 로봇의 상대 좌표를 알아내어 로봇의 스마트 홈 환경에서의 자기위치인식을 한다. 둘째로, 홈 웰니스 로봇의 물체 접근을 위한 비전센서 기반의 퍼지 자세 제어 방법을 제안한다. 홈 웰니스 로봇의 정면에 장착된 스테레오 카메라를 기준으로 물체까지의 깊이 정보를 추출하고 영상의 중앙을 기준으로 틀어진 각을 계산하여 물체와 홈 웰니스 로봇 정면과의 각도차를 알아낸다. 얻은 정보를 퍼지 순람표(Look-Up table)로 작성하여 물체에 접근하기 위한 홈 웰니스 로봇의 자세제어를 하도록 한다. 이렇게 제안한 각각의 자기위치인식 및 자세제어 방법의 성능은 실제 구축한 스마트 홈 환경과 웰니스 로봇을 가지고 실험하여 확인한다.

        홈네트워크 산업지수 개발에 관한 연구

        It is difficult to understand and define the home-network industry because the home- network industry has various characteristics stemmed from different industries. The purpose of the study is to define the home-network industry and develop the home-network composite industry index for measuring the current state of home-network industry so that we can look inside of evolution process of home-network industry over years. To identify the home-network industry, we investigate four different sectors - infra sector, solution sector, device sector, and service sector - which are relevant to the home-network industry. For each different sectors, the study develope three index of different aspects ? index related with managerial performance, index related with market, and the index related with future prospect -. Every index score is standardized between 0 and 100 so that 50 indicates average score. After calculation of three different aspect index for each sectors, the final composite index is computed based on the aggregation of four different individual industries. To aggregate the different industry index, the weighted coefficient is utilized based on the market shares of individual industries comparing with the total market size of home-network industry. The final composite index provides 23.5 in 2005. The composite index value is useful if we investigate these values over time. It is interesting to note that the solution and infra industry has high score of both managerial index and market indicator index. On the contrary, the service and solution industry has high score for future prospect index. The implication is that solution and infra industry have major role of the development of home-network industry at present. However, service and device industry have major role for the development of home-network industry for future.The study has several limitations to overcome. Insufficient historical data makes difficulties to understand the relationship between related industries and to make comprehensive framework of measurement model of home-network industry. However the study is the first trial to measure the current state of home-network industry. And more sophisticated measurement model will be expected in further study with sufficient data over long time horizon. The index is useful to understand the evolution process of home-network industry if we investigate the index over several years. The index can be utilized to make strategic decision making for both government and private company as well.

      • Cybersecurity Threats and Countermeasures of the Smart Home Ecosystem

        The tremendous growth of the Internet of things is unbelievable. Many IoT devices have emerged on the market over the last decade. This has made our everyday life easier inside our homes. The technology used at home has changed significantly over the past several decades, leading to what is known today as the smart home. However, this growth has also brought new challenges to our home security and privacy. With the smart home becoming more mainstream, cybersecurity issues have become a fundamental concern. The smart home is an environment where heterogeneous devices and appliances are interconnected through the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide smart services to residents. These services include home climate control, energy management, video on demand, music on-demand, remote healthcare, remote control, and other similar services in a ubiquitous manner. Smart home devices can be controlled via the Internet using smartphones. However, connecting smart home appliances to wireless networks and the Internet makes individuals vulnerable to malicious attacks. Remote access within the same environment or over the Internet requires an effective access control mechanism. This paper intends to shed light on how smart home devices are working as well as the type of security and privacy threats of the smart home. It also illustrated the types of authentication methods that can be used with smart home devices. In addition, a comparison of Smart home IoT-based security protocols was presented along with a security countermeasure that can be used in a smart home environment. Finally, a few open problems were mentioned as future research directions for researchers.

        체감 인터렉션 기반 스마트 홈 제어 시스템 디자인의 사용자 경험 연구 : Google Home 사례를 중심으로

        본 연구는 Google Home을 대상으로 체감 인터렉션 기반의 스마트홈 제어 시스템 디자인과 사용자 경험에 대해 진행하였 다. 체감 인터렉션 기술의 분류와 응용, Google Home의 기술 원리 및 스마트 홈 제어의 응용, 사용자 경험 설계의 원칙과 방법론, 평가 및 최적화, 실제 활용 사례분석 등을 통하여 다음과 같이 도출하였다. 연구결과 구글 홈은 스마트홈 제어와 사용자 경험 디자인 전반에서 우수한 특징을 보였다. 첫째, Google Home은 다양한 장치 유형 제어를 지원하며 음성 인식 정확도가 높고 조작이 편리하고 간단하며, 맞춤형 옵션과 다중 장치를 하나의 장면으로 조합하여 응답 속도도 비교적 빠르 다. 둘째, Google Home의 음성 힌트와 조작 피드백 방식이 더욱 다양해지고 맞춤형 옵션과 다중 기기가 하나의 장면으로 조합되는 등의 특징을 지원한다. 셋째, 간단명료한 사용자 인터페이스 디자인과 아름답고 모던한 외관 디자인을 가지고 있 어 사용자가 더욱 즐겁게 사용할 수 있다. 이러한 장점으로 인해 Google Home은 스마트 홈 제어 시장에서 선도적인 제품 중 하나가 되었다. 결과적으로 체감 상호작용을 바탕으로 하는 스마트홈 제어 시스템과 사용자 경험 디자인이 서로 보완된 다는 것을 보여주며 Google Home이 뛰어난 특성을 나타내는 핵심 요소라고 할 수 있다. 체감 상호작용의 스마트 홈 제어 시스템 디자인과 사용자 경험 연구는 스마트 홈 제품의 시장 경쟁력을 향상시키는 데 중요한 의미를 가진다. 따라서 사용 자 경험 디자인에 더욱 관심을 가지고 스마트 홈 제어 시스템의 실용성과 편리성을 높여 스마트 홈 시장의 지속가능한 발 전을 촉진해 나가야 한다. This study focuses on Google Home and investigates the design and user experience of a smart home control system based on tactile interaction. The research results show that Google Home has demonstrated excellent characteristics in smart home control and user experience design. Firstly, Google Home supports multiple device types for control, with high speech recognition accuracy and easy operation. By combining custom options with multiple devices into one scene, the response speed is also relatively fast. Secondly, Google Home's voice prompts and operational feedback methods are more diverse, supporting customized options and the combination of multiple devices into one scene. Thirdly, with a concise user interface design and a beautiful and fashionable appearance design, users are more enjoyable to use. These advantages make Google Home one of the leading products in the smart home control market. The results indicate that the smart home control system based on somatosensory interaction and user experience design complement each other. Smart home control and user experience are key factors for Google Home's remarkable achievements. The design and user experience research of smart home control systems with body sensory interaction are of great significance for improving the market competitiveness of smart home products. The key to improving the competitiveness of the smart home market is to optimize design and user experience. In the future, more attention should be paid to user experience design, improving the practicality and convenience of smart home control systems, and promoting the sustainable development of the smart home market.

        A Study on The Marketing Strategy of IoT (Internet of Things)-based Smart Home Service Companies Focusing on The Case of Xiaomi

        In the background of the rapid development of the IoT, smart home work is becoming more and more important to each science and technology company. Smart home provides a safe, comfortable, high-quality, high-performance smart home living space compared to general homes, and at the same time It is responding to the low-carbon, eco-friendly global trend. Growth drivers driving the smart home market are increasing the number of Internet users, increasing disposable income in developing countries, increasing the importance of remote home monitoring, and increasing the need for energy saving and low carbon. In 2013-2014, Xiaomi launched a series of smart routers and smart home hardware devices. In 2015, it announced the latest product of the Xiaomi Ecological Chain, the “Smart Home Package,” and in 2016 launched the MIJIA brand to invest in various smart product companies. In 2017, Xiaomi announced a plan to build an open smart hardware MIOT platform. We investigated the management strategy of Xiaomi home smart service based on IOT. The management strategy was divided into cost lead strategy, differentiation strategy of Xiaomi home service, and AIOT strategy of Xiaomi smart home.

        노인요양병원으로부터 응급의료센터로 전원된 환자의 역학적 특징 분석-사례군 연구

        Purpose: Nursing homes continue to increase in number,and more residents are being transferred to emergency departments (EDs). The objective of this study was to investigate the overall characteristics of residents who were transferred to the ED and follow-up their course of treatments. Methods: We identified nursing home residents aged 65years and older who had been transferred to the ED of a regional tertiary university medical center from January 2008 to December 2009. Further attention was paid to those who had been diagnosed with sepsis. Meantime, a separate cohort of sepsis patients was collected, made up of geriatric patients aged 65 years or older who had visited the ED voluntarily from home or through medical institutions other than nursing homes during the same period. We then compared the two cohorts of sepsis patients. Results: A total of 321 patients aged 65 years or older were transferred from nursing homes during the study period. Their mean age was 77.6±7.2 years, and 172 (54.8%)were females. Seventy six (24.2%) patients whose caregivers did not comply with the necessary procedures or refused aggressive management were discharged home or were retransferred to nursing homes. A total of 41 sepsis patients had been transferred from nursing homes, whereas 64 patients had visited the ER voluntarily or through medical institutions other than nursing homes. Even though the difference between the two groups was not significant statistically, patients transferred from nursing homes tended to be discharged or retransferred to nursing homes with inadequate treatment. Conclusion: A considerable number of patients transferred from nursing homes were found to be discharged or retransferred to nursing homes during acute care due to refusal of aggressive treatments. Likewise, the comparison of sepsis patients between the two arms showed a greater portion being retransferred with inadequate treatment as well as a greater rate of mortality among patients transferred from nursing homes.

        발달장애인 그룹홈의 거주유형별 공간적 특성 분석에 관한 연구 - 경기도 장애인 그룹홈의 내부환경과 지역사회 환경을 중심으로 -

        (연구배경 및 목적) 2020년 정부는 장애인을 위한 안전한 지역사회 환경의 구축과 장애인 그룹홈 시설의 유형 개발을 선언하였다. 매년 꾸준히 증가하고 있는 발달장애인에게 자립과 사회성 함양에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려진 장애인 그룹홈은 탈시설 정책으로 인한 공급 확대를 기대할 수 있겠지만, 장애인 그룹홈을 대상으로 도시공간 중심의 연구는 수행된 바가 없는 실정이다. (연구방법) 장애인 그룹홈이 발달장애인과 주류사회와의 사회통합을 이념으로 삼는 점을 토대로, 사회통합 실천 가능성이 높은 경기도 지역을 연구의 범위로 삼아 연구를 수행하였다. 그리고 장애인 그룹홈의 공간정보 데이터를 구축하여 시설의 공간 중심 유형화 과정을 수행하였다. 이후 거주자의 특성에 대한 이해를 중심으로 유형별 장애인 그룹홈의 공간적 특성을 분석하기 위해 대표 시설을 선정하여 현장방문을 수행하였다. 그리고 종사자 간 인터뷰, 거주자의 특성과 활동 내용을 토대로 유형별 장애인 그룹홈의 내부환경과 지역사회 환경의 공간적 특성을 도출하였다. (결과) 먼저 경기도의 장애인 그룹홈을 중심으로 기초 현황 및 공간정보 데이터를 구축한 결과, 장애인 그룹홈은 경기도의 다양한 입지를 중심으로 운영중인 것으로 확인되었다. 그 중 일반주거지역 내에는 다가구주택, 다세대주택, 아파트 유형의 그룹홈이 주요 주거유형으로 선정되었고, 비주거지역 내에는 단독 주택과 사회복지시설 유형이 주요 주거 유형으로 선정되었다. 유형별 대표 장애인 그룹홈의 내부와 지역사회 환경을 분석한 결과, 장애인 그룹홈의 입지지역은 거주자의 주간 활동의 다양성과 사회 적응훈련 시설 간 접근 방식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. (결론) 첫째, 단독주택과 다가구주택 및 10세대 미만의 다세대주택에 장애인 편의시설이 설치될 수 있도록 제도적 보완이 요구된다. 둘째, 아파트 유형을 제외한 일반주거지역 내 주거유형의 경우 거주자들의 안전한 지역사회 참여활동을 보장할 수 있도록 보차분리가 적용된 보행환경이 요구된다. 셋째, 비주거지역 내 장애인 그룹홈의 거주자들이 지역사회 활동에 참여하고 적응훈련을 수행할 수 있도록 접근성을 갖춘 인프라와 복지서비스의 구축이 요구된다. (Background and Purpose) In 2020, the government declared the establishment of a safe community environment and the development of various types of group-home facilities for the disabled. Group homes for the disabled―known to have a positive effect on fostering independence and sociality for the developmentally disabled―are steadily increasing every year and can be expected to expand supply due to de-facility policies. However, no research has been conducted focusing on urban spaces for disabled group homes. (Method) Based on the fact that group homes for the disabled have an ideology of social integration between the developmentally disabled and mainstream society, this study was conducted in the area of Gyeonggi-do, which is highly likely to practice social integration. By constructing spatial data on group homes for the disabled, a spatially centered categorization process of facilities was performed. Subsequently, to analyze the spatial characteristics of group homes for the disabled by type, focusing on understanding the characteristics of residents, representative facilities were selected and field visits were conducted. Furthermore, based on interviews with workers and the characteristics and activities of residents, the spatial characteristics of the internal and community environments of group homes for the disabled by type were derived. (Results) First, by constructing basic status and spatial information data centered on the group homes for the disabled in Gyeonggi-do, it was confirmed that these group homes operate in various locations in Gyeonggi-do. Among them, group homes with multifamily housing and apartment types were selected as the main types of housing in general residential areas, whereas single-family housing and social welfare facilities were selected as the main types of housing in non-residential areas. By analyzing the internal and community environment of the group homes for the disabled by type, it was confirmed that the location of these group homes affected the diversity of residents’ weekly activities and the approach between social adaptation training facilities. (Conclusion) First, institutional supplementation is required so that convenience facilities for the disabled can be installed in detached, multifamily, and multifamily houses with fewer than 10 households. Second, in the case of housing types in general residential areas, excluding apartments, a walking environment with pedestrian separation is required to ensure safe community participation activities of residents. Third, it is necessary to establish accessible infrastructure and welfare services so that residents of group homes for the disabled in nonresidential areas can participate in community activities and conduct adaptation training.

      • The Research on Smart Home’s Wireless Control Mechanism

        In order to improve smart home’s wireless control measure and overall level of smart home, the current concerned problem is to design a wireless network protocol that is low-cost, easy to develop and oriented to the field of smart home. The paper puts forward the general framework of smart home’s wireless control on smart home’s wireless control protocol and specific applications, and designs hardware and network structure for this system. By combining with design and algorithm implementation of repeaters, the paper improves WSN routing protocol, which is based on applications of smart home, and geographical routing protocol, which is appropriate for this scene. Meanwhile, the paper applies double bounce greedy algorithm and routing void mark to improve the problem of routing void. In this way, it avoids from the generation of routing void to the greatest extent. Through the simulation experiment, it can draw a conclusion that comparing with GPSR protocol and GEAR protocol, the improved protocol has a great improvement on node energy consumption and effective avoidance of routing void. It makes network performance improve to a greater degree. Before deploying smart home’s network nodes, it should pay more attention to deploy the number of nodes. In appropriate node deployment, better network performance of smart home can be obtained.
