조선후기 변산반도 유람록의 관광학적 고찰- 소승규 유봉래산일기를 중심으로 -

This research was conducted to find tourism and related material through the existing manuscripts of the travelers’ journals that was written by the Confucian scholars(sadaebu in Korean). I think that can be beyond the basis of the achievement of neighboring academic studies, such as literature and cultural history, the category could also be expanded to one area of tourism research. Traveler's Journals about mountain and river left by ancestors can be utilized as useful resources to keep track of the tourism phenomenon at that time. For this point of view, I selected travelers’ journals that were written based on regional resources, conducted research that classify tourist’s behavior. It was intended to discover regional characteristic contents through penetrate frame past and present within category of the tourism history. Byeonsan-peninsular in Buan Jeollabuk-do was designated as a national park in 1988, already it has been visited by lots of classical tourist before. Several traveler’s journal that written by them are remain until these days. Among the old travelers’ journals, 「Traveler's Diary of Mt. Bongrae」, which was written by 'So Sueng-gyu' in late nineteenth century, is selected to me as a core material for this research. The depictions of this is written in a very detailed manner, which provides the diversity in the journey, and in the behavioral patterns of the tour. To ensure maximum detail of the original materials, the analysis results were subdivided into travel motives, number of companions, travel period, travel routes, schedule, lodging, food, local customs, and tourism resources. The results of the study are expected to serve as the basis for further research, such as creating storytelling and developing tourism courses that are applicable to tour sites. 인문관광 소재를 발굴하기 위해 현전하는 사대부들의 유람록을 집중적으로 탐색하였다. 그동안 문헌사나 문화사 등 인접학문에서 이뤄낸 연구성과의 토대를 넘어, 관광학 연구의 한 영역으로 그 범주가 확대될 수 있다고 판단하였다. 선인들이 남긴 산수유람록은 당시의 관광현상을 파악하는 데 유용한 자료로 활용할 수 있다. 이런 관점에서 지역자원을 소재로 하는 유람록을 선정하여, 관광자 행동유형을 분류하는 연구를 진행하였다. 이는 관광사의 범주 안에서, 과거와 현재를 관통하는 지역특성 콘텐츠 발굴의 계기로 삼기 위함이다. 전라북도 부안 변산은 1988년 국립공원으로 지정되기 이전에도 수많은 선인 유람객들이 찾아들었던 곳으로 몇몇 기록물이 남아있다. 그중에서 19C말 소승규의 「유봉래산일기(遊蓬萊山日記)」를 핵심 연구자료로 선정하였다. 여정에 대한 기술(記述)이 구체적이어서, 이동경로와 행동양태의 다양성을 확인할 수 있었기 때문이다. 원 자료의 구체성이 최대한 담기게 하기 위해, 관광동기·동반인원·여행기간·동선과 일정·숙박과 음식·지역풍습·관광자원 등으로 세분화한 분석결과를 완성하였다. 본 연구의 성과가 관광현장에 적용 가능한 스토리텔링 구축 및 관광코스 개발 등 실용화 후속연구의 기초자료로 활용되길 기대한다.

소승규 <유봉래산일기> 소재(所載) 한시 연구

<Yubongraesan Ilgi(遊蓬萊山日記)>(Mt. Bongrae Travel Diary) is a diary written by So Seung-gyu(蘇昇奎, 1844~1908) with a pen name of Nangok(蘭谷), a scholar from Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, while on a tour of Byeonsan Mountain in Buan, Jeollabuk-do. This study examines the current status and characteristics of Sino-Korean poems in <Yubongraesan Ilgi> by So Seung-gyu along with the summarization of their meanings. The Sino-Korean poems in <Yubongraesan Ilgi> are recorded, intersecting with the prose descriptions, and the entire Suchangsi poems(酬唱詩) are recorded. Suchangsi means poems which are sung by exchanging poems. <Yubongraesan Ilgi> contains a total of 82 Sino-Korean poems. Among them, So Seung-gyu's Sino-Korean poems are 29, and others' Sino-Korean poems are 53. Characteristics of Sino-Korean poems from <Yubongraesan Ilgi> can be divided into four categories. First, they portray landscapes not found in prose descriptions, thereby enriching the description of the Byeonsan area. Second, they enhance the credibility of the narrative by including other people's perspectives on the Byeonsan area. Third, they fix the tourist's gaze on the scenic spots in the Byeonsan area, thereby highlighting the scenic spots. Fourth, they summarize the entire Byeonsan travel and leave a lasting impression. As in So Seung-gyu’s <Yubongraesan Ilgi>, if Sino-Korean poems are included right in the context of composing Sino-Korean poems, it is possible to immediately grasp the situation of composing the poems while traveling. In addition, <Yubongraesan Ilgi> contains a wealth of various Sino-Korean poems about the tour of Byeonsan, which is meaningful in that it contributes to the discovery of Sino-Korean poems in the Byeonsan area and the study of scenic spots. <유봉래산일기(遊蓬萊山日記)>는 전북 익산의 선비 난곡(蘭谷) 소승규(蘇昇奎, 1844~1908)가 전북 부안의 변산(邊山)을 유람하고 쓴 일기이다. 본 논문에서는 소승규 <유봉래산일기> 소재 한시의 현황과 특징을 살피고, 그 의미를 정리하였다. <유봉래산일기>의 한시는 산문 서술과 교차하여 수록되어 있으며, 수창시(酬唱詩) 전체가 수록되어 있다. <유봉래산일기> 소재 한시의 전체 수량은 82수이며, 이중 소승규의 한시가 29수, 타인의 한시가 53수이다. <유봉래산일기> 소재 한시의 특징은 네 가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 산문 서술에 없는 풍경도 묘사하여 변산 지역을 풍부하게 담는다. 둘째, 변산 지역에 대한 타인의 시각을 담아 서술의 신뢰성을 높인다. 셋째, 변산 지역 명승지에 시선을 멈추게 하고 명승지를 부각시킨다. 넷째, 변산 유람 여행 전체를 종합하고 여운을 남긴다. 소승규 <유봉래산일기>와 같이 한시를 짓게 된 상황 속에 한시가 바로 수록된 경우, 곧바로 여행 중 작시 상황을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 <유봉래산일기>에는 변산 유람 여행에 대한 여러 사람의 다양한 한시가 풍성하게 담겨 있어, 변산 지역 한시 발굴 및 명승지 연구에 기여한다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

소승규 「유봉래산일기」의 유람 여행 글쓰기와 문학교육적 의미

This paper reviewed the writing methods and characteristics of So Seung-gyu’s 「Yubongnaesan Ilgi」(Lit., Travelogue Diary on Mountain Bongnaesan), which recorded a trip to Byeonsan in 1897, and summarized the meaning of literary education. 「Yubongnaesan Ilgi」 used a formal diary format, focusing on the tour of Byeonsan from preparations for travel to the process of travel and return and writing, but started with and ended up with a dream story about deities, thereby show a completeness of the story. And it described the experiences of each day in chronological order, giving readers the effect of being together in that time. In this process, making a detailed description of the situation in which poetry was composed, and recording actively the poems composed during the excursion, 「Yubongnaesan Ilgi 」 contained 82 poems. The travelogue thus offered a detailed look at the creative situation of classical Sino-Korean poems during tours in the second half of the Joseon Dynasty. On the premise that it is used in university classes, the meaning of literary education of 「Yubongnaesan Ilgi」 could be summarized as follows. First, 「Yubongnaesan Ilgi」 can be provided as a major resource related to travel literature and diary literature. Second, 「Yubongnaesan Ilgi」 can be used as an example of direct experience writing. Third, it can be used to educate the process of writing and enjoying poetry. Fourth, it can be used to discover oral literature and introduce the process of its transmission. 본 논문에서는 1897년의 변산 유람 여행을 기록한 소승규(蘇昇奎, 1844~1908) 「유봉래산일기(遊蓬萊山日 記)」의 글쓰기 방식과 특징을 살펴보고, 문학교육적 의미를 정리하였다. 「유봉래산일기」는 정형적인 일기 형식을 사용하였으며, 여행 준비에서부터 여행 과정, 귀환과 글쓰기까지변산 유람 여행에 집중하되, 신선에 관한 꿈 이야기로 시작하고 끝을 맺어 완결성을 보이고 있었다. 그리고 하루하루의 경험을 시간순으로 매우 구체적으로 서술하여, 독자들이 그 시간 속에 같이 있는 듯한 효과를 주고있었다. 이 과정에서 시를 짓게 되는 상황도 구체적으로 기록하고 유람 여행 중에 지은 시를 적극적으로 수록하여, 「유봉래산일기」 속에는 82수의 시가 담겨 있었다. 이로 인해 조선후기 유람 여행 중 한시 창작 상황을자세히 볼 수 있었다. 대학교 수업에서의 활용을 전제로, 「유봉래산일기」의 문학교육적 의미는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있었다. 첫째, 「유봉래산일기」는 기행문학·일기문학 관련 주요 자료로 제공될 수 있다. 둘째, 「유봉래산일기」는 직접체험 글쓰기에 대한 예시로 활용될 수 있다. 셋째, 「유봉래산일기」를 바탕으로 한시 작성과 향유 과정을 교육할 수 있다. 넷째, 「유봉래산일기」를 통해 구비문학 작품을 발굴하고, 전승 과정을 소개할 수 있다.

풍요의 변산(邊山)과 그 형상화

본고는 19세기 말에 창작된 소승규(蘇昇奎)의 「유봉래산일기」(遊蓬萊山日記)가 변산(邊山) 유기(遊記)로서 어떠한 특징을 지니고 있는지를 밝히고자 했다. 이를 위해 작품 속 변산 형상화가 산, 들판, 바다가 어우러진 것과 같은 변산의 특성과 어떻게 연결되는지 등을 유념하며 고찰을 진행했다. 고찰 결과 「유봉래산일기」에서 변산이 자연, 물산, 문화를 풍부하고도 다채롭게 보유하고 있는 ‘풍요의 장소’로서 그려진 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 아울러 작품에 풍요의 이면에 존재하는 변산 주민들의 고단한 삶의 모습 등이 포착된 점도 확인할 수 있었다. 이상의 점들을 고려할 때 「유봉래산일기」는 변산 유람 체험이 담긴 기록인 동시에 변산의 특성이 생생하게 담긴 ‘변산지’(邊山誌)로서의 성격도 지닌다. 덧붙여 귀로에 이루어진 만경강 뱃놀이에 명창 안익화(安益化)가 동참해 노래를 부르는 장면이 있는 점도 작품에서 주목할 만한 부분이다.
