Radiation therapy is an important treatment for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, how to promote radiation sensitivity in HNSCC remains a challenge. This study aimed to investigate the radiosensitizing effects of fenofibrate on HNSCC and explore the underlying mechanisms. HNSCC cell lines CNE-2 and KB were subjected to ionizing radiation (IR), in the presence or absence of fenofibrate treatment. Cell growth and survival, apoptosis and cell cycle were evaluated. In addition, CNE-2 cells were xenografted into nude mice and subjected to IR and/or fenofibrate treatment. The expression of cyclinB and CDK1 was detected by Western blotting. Our results showed that fenofibrate efficiently radiosensitized HNSCC cells and xenografts in mice, and induced apoptosis and G2/M arrest via reducing the activity of the CDK1/cyclinB1 kinase complex. These data suggest that fenofibrate could be a promising radiosensitizer for HNSCC radiotherapy.

A current reused low-noise amplifier (LNA) with gain compensated to extend the bandwidth and is designed for ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless receiver. The design consists of two cascode common-source amplifier and an output buffer which is implemented in 0.18um RF CMOS process. The LNA gives 13.1㏈ gain; 9.1㎓ 3㏈ bandwidth (3.1-12.2㎓) while consuming 13.9㎽ through a 1.8V supply. Over the 3.1㎓ - 10.6㎓ frequency band, a minimum noise figure of 2.7㏈ and input return loss lower than -8.7㏈ have been achieved.
Tip-tilt Simulation of a 3-DOF Secondary Mirror of Giant Magellan Telescope

The object of this study is a 3-DOF secondary mirror of Giant Magellan Telescope, which is a 3-DOF parallel manipulator. In order to analyze the kinematic characteristics of this mechanism, the forward kinematic equation and inverse kinematic equation are calculated respectively. To verify the performance of the secondary mirror, a series of experiments are carried out, and some relative experimental data about tip-tilt movement is obtained. To observe the tip-tilt movement of 3-DOF secondary mirror using a computer program, instead of conducting real experiment, a dynamic simulation module and a customizable simulation module are developed. Through comparing these two simulation results, the tip-tilt characteristic of 3-DOF secondary mirror can be visualized and supervised obviously, it also lays a solid foundation for kinematic calibration of this mechanism.
The Interlaminar Shear and Fatigue Performance of Pavement Structure Connected by the Nail

The aim of this study is increasing the connection strength between the asphalt course and the semi-rigid base course. A revolutionary method was put forward, which used nails to connect the asphalt course to the rigid or semi-rigid base course. The interlaminar shear and fatigue performance of asphalt pavement were evaluated through shear and fatigue testing by using nails to connect the asphalt course with the semi-rigid base course. The results show that shear strength of the interface connected by the nails between the asphalt mixture and the cement stabilized macadam was double that of the interface connected by the modified asphalt emulsion prime and seal coat. Its fatigue life was extended 47.3% compared with that of the interface linked by the modified asphalt emulsion prime and seal coat. We demonstrate that the performance of the interlayer connection and asphalt pavement structure integrity can be improved by incorporating nails to connect the asphalt course with the semi-rigid base course.

This paper devotes itself to the containment tracking problem of general linear high-order multiagentsystems (MASs) under time-varying communications. For general linear MASs with time-varying weightunbalanceddigraph, the containment control problem is difficult and challenging, because the Lyapunov methodis not an effective approach in this case. Under the assumption that the graph topology uniformly and jointlyhas a directed spanning forest, we show that when the exponentially unstable mode associated with each agent’sself-dynamics is weak enough, the followers can asymptotically tend to the dynamical convex hull spanned bythe leaders, i.e. the containment can be achieved. Moreover, the least convergence rate is explicitly specified. Simulations are also provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our result.

A multi-stage low-noise amplifier (LNA) with LC-tank load to extend the bandwidth is designed for ultrawideband (UWB) wireless receiver. The design consists of three LC-tank cascode amplifier and one output buffer and is implemented in 0.18um RF CMOS process. The trade off on noise figure and chip area in low-noise amplifier design is discussed. The two LNA (LC and Res) gives 14.5㏈ gain; 7.2㎓ and 7.0㎓ 3㏈ bandwidth (3.1-10.3㎓ and 3.1-10.1㎓) while consuming 22.8㎽ and 23.8㎽ through a 1.5V supply. Over the 3.1㎓ - 10.3㎓ and 3.1㎓-10.1㎓ frequency band, a minimum noise figure of 2.6㏈ and 6.3㏈ and input return loss lower than -8.8㏈ and - 6.8㏈ have been achieved.

Because of manufacturing and assembly errors in the geometric parameters of parallel robots, calibrating the parameters is necessary for improving the positioning accuracy. The objective of this study is a 3-DOF secondary mirror of the giant Magellan telescope, which is operated by a 3-DOF parallel robot. In this paper, a kinematic calibration method is presented. In this method, a moving platform is commanded to execute a sinusoidal movement by the cooperation of three piezoelectric actuators, and experimental data is obtained using capacitive sensors. The inverse kinematic and forward kinematic equations for the local system are illustrated in this paper. Furthermore, importantly, a least square algorithm is implemented to reduce the residual between the experimental values and expected values. Additionally, a simulation model is developed for supervising the movement of the system. Results of experiment show that the method used in this paper is effective and efficient.

Purpose: To determine whether microRNA could be a therapy target of erectile dysfunction (ED) and the underlying mecha-nisms. Materials and Methods: Eight-week-old fasting male SD rats were intraperitoneally injected with streptozotocin to construct diabetic rat models. Diabetic ED rats were treated with miRNA-92a inhibitor. The cavernous nerves were electrically stimu-lated to measure the intracavernous pressure and mean arterial pressure of rats in each group. After the detection, the penile cavernous tissues are properly stored for subsequent experiments. Rat aortic endothelial cells were used in in vitro studies. Results: The expression of miR-92a was significantly increased in the corpus cavernosum of Streptozocin (STZ)-induced di- abetic rats and injection of miR-92a antagomir into the corpus cavernosum of diabetic rats significantly increased eNOS/NO/ cGMP signaling pathway activities, cavernous endothelial cell proliferation, endothelial cell-cell junction protein expression and decreased the levels of oxidative stress. These changes restored erectile function in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Moreover, in vitro study demonstrated that the miR-92a expression increased significantly in endothelial cells treated with high glucose, inhibiting AMPK/eNOS and AMPK/Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathways in rat aortic endothelial cells via targeting Prkaa2, causing endothelial dysfunction and overactive oxidative stress, miR-92a inhibitor can improve the above parameters. Conclusions: miRNA-92a inhibitor could exert an inhibition role on oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction to improve diabetic ED effectively.
Study on Flow and Heat Transfer of Small Scale Gas Flow for Air Cooling System

The small scale pipe plays an important role in the heat and mass transfer of industrial application. For the study of the flow characteristics in small scale pipe, a modal mixed Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method was proposed for solving axial-symmetrical Navier-Stokes (NS) equations with solid slip boundary conditions. A new limiter of modal DG was proposed. And, the special treatments of velocity slip and temperature jump in wall solid boundary were given in the numerical scheme. Extensive numerical studies for the flow characteristics of small scale pipe were conducted. For validation, the comparison between the present study and experiment data were performed. The heat transfer coefficients and frictional factor are found to be increased with the diameter decreasing. Furthermore, it is observed that the frictional factor of small scale pipe is larger than that of macro scale pipe. And, the proposed DG-NS method provides a new way for the investigation of the flow characteristics in small scale flow.
Atomization Characteristics of Gelled Hypergolic Propellant Simulants

Gelled propellants are attractive candidates due to their desirable physical and chemical properties which reduced hazardoussituations while providing significant flexibility over solid propellants. However, complications were raised by injection andatomization due to their non-Newtonian rheological and flow properties caused due to its high viscosity. In this paper, the simulationmethod and experimental system were proposed, and the atomized characteristics of gelled-hypergolic-propellant stimulants withimpinging jet injector were also investigated. The influence law was studied to investigating the injection angle and velocity. Theeffects of the generalized Reynolds number on the jet velocity are presented in a regime diagram. It was observed that spray patternswere depended on the jet exit velocity from the shadowgraph images. And then, it was found that the impingement angle and the jetvelocity play the important role in the near-field jet stream characteristics in this paper
