Objective: This study was designed to estimate the frequency and risk factor for edenomyosis Methods: The clinical records of 623 women undergoing hysterectomy were retrieved in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Soonchunhyang University Hospital, during 5 years, from Jan. 1995 to Dec. 1999. Results: The following result were obtained. 1. Adenomyosis was found in 247 of 623 patients(39.6%) 2. The highest incidence was 40-49 years of age group, an incidence of 46.6% and mean age was 44.7 years. 3. Adenomyosis was more frequently observed in parous women than non-parous women, such as 93.1% and 6.9%, respectively. 4. Dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia, pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding were common symptom of adenomyosis, an incidence of 28.7%, 19.0%, 18.2% and 16.2%, respectively. 5. Myoma was the most combined disease in adenomyosis, showing the incidence of 54.7%. 6. Grossly, the size of uterus was enlarged more than 10 weeks gestational size in adenomyosis, an incidence of 61.9%. 7. Preoperative diagnostic accuracy of adenomyosis was 6.9%. Conclusion: The results show that deeply understanding of the common symptoms and epidemiology of adenomyosis improve the preoperative diagnostic accuracy.

Individual identification of severely decomposed or skeletonized bodies is an important part in medicolegal field. 142 bodies were torn up and carried away by flood in a park cemetry, Kwang-Ju, Kyunggi province, Korea at Sept., 10, 1990. The authors examed the 56 bodies, which were gained, through medical, anthropological, odontological, radiological methods, and superimposition for individual identification. Among them, 41 cases were successfully identified, and remaining 15 cases were not identified because of sever destruction and no adequate information.

Individual identification is an important part in medicolegal field especially in mass disaster. At July, 27, 1989, KAL KE-803 was crashed on landing at Tripoli International Airport, Liba. The plane was caught in fire and sixty eight Koreans were sacrified. The majority of victims were severely charred and injured. The authors examed all dead bodies and successfully identified all the cases through visual, anthropological, odontological, radiological and pathological methods including fingerprint and blood typing.

선천성 판상 피부 골종 1예

Osteoma cutis is a rare, benign, frequently congenital tumor of the skin composed of bone tissue, showing neither invasive nor metastasizing tendency. The term osteoma cutis is applied to cases of primary cutaneous ossification in which there is no evidence of Albrights hereditary osteodystrophy. Congenital platelike osteoma cutis is a clinically different variant of primary cutaneous osteoma. We report the case of a 10-month-old male infant who presented with two walnut-sized firm, poorly demarcated plaques containing pinhead-sized erythematous papules on the abdomen and the right leg and multiple variably sized erythematous subcutaneous nodules on the left leg sinee birth. The initial lesions did not enlarge nor did new lesions develop. A biopsy specimen of the abdominal lesion showed bony plate and cartilaginous structures in the subcutaneous fat tissue. There was no history of any skin disease prior to the development of osteoma.

미소압입시험법과 SEM/EPMA를 이용한 치과용 금속-세라믹 시스템의 계면특성 연구

The purposes of this study were to investigate the interface area of dental metal-ceramic systems by using nanoindentation technique and SEM/EPMA. Gold (PFG) and Ni-Cr-Be alloy (PFM) coupons (10×10×1 ㎜) were cast and veneered with Ceramco Ⅱ opaque and body porcelain. Specimens tired once (one-tiring) and nine times (nine-firing) of body porcelain were prepared and compared in this study. The metal-ceramic interfaces embedded in epoxy resin were exposed and received 0.25-㎛ finish. Nanoindentation test (ENT-1100a, Elionix, Japan) was conducted at the interlaces with a load of 100 ㎎f (0.98 mN). Sixty indentations were made at two specimens of each metal-ceramic group. Nanoindentation marks were confirmed to allot their positions under a reflected microscope. Mean indentation hardness and elastic modulus values were determined at the area of metal area >5㎛ (M) and <5㎛ (MI) from interface, and porcelain area (P). Indentation hardness value was also compared with Knoop hardness values. Distribution of trace elements in alloys was examined at the metal-ceramic interfaces through X-ray mapping obtained from SEM/EPMA. From this study, following results were discussed. Mean indentation hardness values of gold alloy and porcelain were agreed with their Knoop hardness data, except for the base metal. There were no abrupt changes of mechanical property at the interlace areas of PFG and PFM specimens, although transition area of mechanical properties was not observed clearly at the interlace However, elastic modulus values obtained by nanoindentation were higher than their respect literature values. These results were probably caused by residual stress arisen at the metal-ceramic area, even though further study should be considered. High resolution SEM/EPMA study successively revealed fine mapping of trace elements at the metal-ceramic interfaces. A high concentration of Indium was observed at the gold-ceramic interface. Beryllium was not concentrated at the interface of PFM, although they appeared in NiBe phase. Generally, mechanical properties and distribution of trace elements of metal-ceramic interface were not significantly changed with increased firing times. Nanoindentation technique was useful to analyze interface properties of metal-ceramic systems.

Uterus didelphys with unilateral obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis usually presents after menarch with progressive abdominal pain during menses secondary to hematocolpos, and indeed a very rare congenital anomaly due to Mullerian duct malformation. An accurate and prompt diagnosis is of importance to permit treatment and to assure the future fertility of the patient. Pelvic ultrasound, physical examination and pelvic MRI established a diagnosis of hematometracolpos secondary to uterus didelphys with unilateral imperforate hemivagina. An incision in the vaginal septum allowed drainage of the hematocolpos, providing relief of the patients symptoms. We report two case of uterus didelphys with obstructed hemivagina with brief review of the literature.

Rail noise and vibration is one of the major problem for the residents living nearby railway tracks. The rail noise may inflict a considerable damage to physiological, spiritual, mental and discomfort to neighboring peoples. Therefore, residents living nearby railway were appeal many troubles. Nevertheless, in our country, adequate guidelines for the rail noise are not yet established because of the lack of basic data and insufficient research works. In this point, this study attempts to surveys the influence of rail noise in urban area using questionnaire. This study also present a basic data in establishing effective plans for rail noise in the future.

6-(3.4-Dichlorophenyl)amino-7-chloro-5.8-quinolinedione (RCK50) was tested for antifungal activities in mice systemically infected with Candida albicans. The therapeutic potential of RCK50 was also assessed in comparison with ketoconazole. RCK50 had ED_50 0.22±0.01 ㎎/㎏. Ketoconazole as a positive control had ED_50 6.00±1.70 ㎎/㎏. Intraperitoneally administered RCK50 at the ED_50 for 7 days and 14 days reduced Candida albicans colony count in the kidneys and liver. And administered RCK50 at the ED_50 for 14 days improved survival rates. The genotoxicities of RCK50 had been evaluated. RCK50 was negative in Ames test with Salmonella typhimurium and chromosomal aberration test in CHL cells. RCK50 did not show any clastogenic effect in mouse peripheral blood and was negative in mouse micronucleus assay. These results indicate that RCK50 has no genotoxic potential under these experimental conditions. Acute oral toxicity studies of RCK50 were carried out in ICR mice of both sexes. RCK50 did not show acute oral toxicities and LD_50 values were over 2.850 ㎎/㎏ in ICR mice.

자동차 허브 내·외경 측정 시스템 개발

An automobile hub is composed of a hollow cylindrical part with inner and outer diameters. These hub diameters must be precise, as any irregularities in them (diameters) can influence/degrade the motion of an automobile with this problem. Highly accurate and reliable hub inner and outer diameters measurement systems are therefore required for inspection of the diameters. In this research, an automobile hub inner and outer diameters measurement system has been developed and tested. The system consists of measuring heads with LVDT sensors, and associated software for automatic measurement and calibration of the diameters and the sensors respectively. The system has been evaluated in comparison with an existing measurement system, and the following outcomes have been achieved; ·Improved and guaranteed quality and reliability ·Increased productivity and cost reduction These results prove the system developed in this research to be suitable for automobile hub inspection.

코퍼스를 이용한 독일어 연구 : 정량적 분석의 응용사례

Bei der vorliegenden Arbeit habe ich versucht, anhand einiger Musterbeispiele korpusbasierte Untersuchungsmethoden zu zeigen. Im Kapitel 2 habe ich im Vergleich zu den allgemeinen linguistischen Untersuchungsmethoden (insbesondere, der generativen Theorie von N. Chomsky) die Charakteristik der korpusbasierten Untersuchungen erkla¨rt. Im Kapitel 3 habe ich die Werkzeuge der Korpuslinguistik, d.h. Korpora und Softwares, u¨berblickt. Danach habe ich im Kapitel 4 einige Untersuchungsbeispiele gezeigt, die den quantitativen Analysen auf Grund der Rohtexte entsprechen. Zuerst habe ich im Bezug auf Frequenzlisten drei Beispiele gezeigt. Das erste Beispiel zeigt bezu¨glich der Wortart den Charakter des mu¨ndlichen Deutschen. Das zweite bezieht sich auf den Bereich Sprachwandel: Wir haben bei der IDS-Korpora gesehen, dass die Wo¨rter Handy und Tamagotchi nach dem Zeitraum unterschiedlich auftreten. Und das dritte bezieht sich auf den Bereich Stilistik: Hierbei habe ich bei vier Genres und bei drei literalischen Werken die Statistik daru¨ber gezeigt, wie viele Wo¨rter innerhalb eines Satzes vorkommen. Als na¨chstes habe ich Kollokationsarbeiten gezeigt, bei denen gefragt wird, mit welchem Wort ein bestimmtes Wort ha¨ufig zusammen vorkommt. Bei- spielweise habe ich die Kollokatoren des Wortes Risiko gezeigt, indem ich das Programm COSMAS II von IDS-Korpora benutzte. Dabei habe ich im Bereich der Lexikographie eine Anwendungsmo¨glichkeit erkla¨rt.
