In this paper, we characterized a differentiallyexpressed receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase XCRK, whichconfers resistance to bacterial leaf streak (BLS). We analyzedthe tissue expression of XCRK and showed that XCRK waswidely expressed in multiple rice (Oryza sativa) organs, including internodes, roots, leaves and flowers. In addition, the expression of XCRK was significantly induced by ABA,salt and H2O2 treatments, suggesting its function in thesepathways. The XCRK-overexpressing transgenic seedlingsexhibited higher tolerance to Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzicola(Xoc) compared with the wild-type seedlings. Furthermore,XCRK-overexpressing seedlings showed stronger antioxidantcapacity with reduced MDA and H2O2 content and higherantioxidant enzyme activities. It has been hypothesized thatthe enhanced Xoc tolerance was attributed to the improvedexpression of resistance-responsive factors positively regulatedby XCRK. In accordance with this, the expression of resistanceand oxidation-related genes Wrky77, Wrky13, PAL1, PR5,Fe-SOD and SodCc2 were up-regulated by the overexpressionof XCRK, which might contribute collectively to the increasedXoc tolerance. Overall, overexpression of XCRK couldenhance the antioxidant capacity and Xoc tolerance in rice.

Objective Abnormalities of static brain activity have been reported in schizophrenia, but it remains to be clarified the temporal variability of intrinsic brain activities in schizophrenia and how atypical antipsychotics affect it.Methods We employed a resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) and a sliding-window analysis of dynamic amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (dALFF) to evaluate the dynamic brain activities in schizophrenia (SZ) patients before and after 8-week antipsychotic treatment. Twenty-six schizophrenia individuals and 26 matched healthy controls (HC) were included in this study. Results Compared with HC, SZ showed stronger dALFF in the right inferior temporal gyrus (ITG.R) at baseline. After medication, the SZ group exhibited reduced dALFF in the right middle occipital gyrus (MOG.R) and increased dALFF in the left superior frontal gyrus (SFG.L), right middle frontal gyrus (MFG.R), and right inferior parietal lobule (IPL.R). Dynamic ALFF in IPL.R was found to significant negative correlate with the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) scores at baseline. Conclusion Our results showed dynamic intrinsic brain activities altered in schizophrenia after short term antipsychotic treatment. The findings of this study support and expand the application of dALFF method in the study of the pathological mechanism in psychosis in the future.

Galvanic current measurement, polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and weight loss test were used to study the corrosion behavior of carbon steel before and after carbon fibers coupling to the carbon steel in simulated concrete pore solutions, and the film composition on the steel surface was analyzed using XPS method. The results indicate that passive film on steel surface had excellent protective property in pore solutions with different pH values (13.3, 12.5 and 11.6). After coupling with carbon fibers the area ratio of carbon steel to carbon fiber was 12.31), charge transfer resistance Rct of the steel surface decreased and the Fe3+/Fe2+ value in passive film decreased. As a result, stability of the film decreased and the corrosion rate of steel increased. Decreasing of the area ratio of steel to carbon fiber from 12.3 to 6.15 resulted in the decrease in Rct and the increase in corrosion rate. Especially in the pore solution with pH 11.6, the coupling leads the carbon steel to corrode easily.

Tunnels in the operation period are faced with different types of diseases, such as lining fracture, lining containing voids and lining leakage. In this paper, the common tunnel lining diseases are classified and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is adopted to detect the tunnel lining diseases rapidly and nondestructively. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) methodis used to carry out numerical experiments on GPR detection forward modelling and backwardprojection imaging. An interpretation criterion of GPR detection was established on typical lining diseases. Based on the dielectric differences between before and after grouting of tunnel lining, GPR is introduced into the evaluation of grouting on leakage in tunnel lining, and the numerical simulation of grouting effect is carried out. It can be concluded that GPR imaging can well-identify the dielectric changes before and after grouting and evaluate the grouting reinforcement effect more intuitively. Finally, this method was applied to a practical case in Kaiyuan tunnel, China. This paper provides an alternative way to detect tunnel lining leakage in operation period and a reference for the evaluation of structural defects reinforcement in underground engineering.

In this study, a series of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) copolymer films were prepared via solutionpolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with butyl acrylate (BA) and lauryl methacrylate (LMA) as monomers. Mechanical properties, hydrophobic properties, and optical properties of the films were intensively investigated. The rheological results showed that the fluidity of the copolymer was considerably enhanced. When the monomer ratio ofMMA:BA:LMA was 100:30:10, the copolymer film S4 showed the best overall performance with perfect optical transparency maintained. The results of the dynamic mechanical and thermal analysis suggested that the glass transition temperature (Tg) moved towards lower temperature, with enhanced ductility of the PMMA films. A large number of yieldfolds and crazes appeared on the cross-sectional surface of copolymer films through morphological observations, displaying the obvious characteristics of toughness fracture and obeying the energy dissipation mechanism of cracks shearband. The present study provided a facile way of preparing PMMA films with high toughness and light transmittanceby appropriate selection of the monomers, which will be of practical significance for further studies on the replacementof triacetyl cellulose as a support film of polarizers.
