Classification of Fuzzy Logic on the Optimized Bead Geometry in the Gas Metal Arc Welding

Recently, there has been a rapid development in computer technology, which has in tum led to develop the automated welding system using Artificial Intelligence (AI). However, the automated welding system has not been achieved duo to difficulties of the control and sensor technologies. In this paper, the classification of the optimized bead geometry such as bead width, height, penetration and bead area in the Gas Metal Arc (GMA) welding with fuzzy logic is presented. The fuzzy C-Means algorithm (FCM), which is best known an unsupervised fuzzy clustering algorithm is employed here to analysis the specimen of the bead geometry. Then the quality of the GMA welding can be classified by this fuzzy clustering technique and the choice for obtaining the optimal bead geometry can also be determined.

The intelligent agriculture monitoring is based on the perception and analysis of environmental data, which enables the monitoring of the production environment and the control of environmental regulation equipment. As the scale of the application continues to expand, a large amount of data will be generated from the perception layer and uploaded to the cloud service, which will bring challenges of insufficient bandwidth and processing capacity. A fog-based offline and real-time hybrid data analysis architecture was proposed in this paper, which combines offline and real-time analysis to enable real-time data processing on resource-constrained IoT devices. Furthermore, we propose a data process-ing algorithm based on the incremental principal component analysis, which can achieve data dimensionality reduction and update of principal components. We also introduce the concept of Squared Prediction Error (SPE) value and realize the abnormal detection of data through the combination of SPE value and data fusion algorithm. To ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the algorithm, we design a regular-SPE hybrid model update strategy, which enables the principal component to be updated on demand when data anomalies are found. In addition, this strategy can significantly reduce resource consumption growth due to the data analysis architectures. Practical datasets-based simulations have confirmed that the proposed algorithm can perform data fusion and exception processing in real-time on resource-constrained devices; Our model update strategy can reduce the overall system resource consumption while ensuring the accuracy of the algorithm.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>In the manufacturing industry, quality is of prime importance and a reduction in rejects rates is desirable to reduce costs, improve productivity as well as satisfy customer quality requirements. Many quality problems arise due to poorly set process variables, and this is often due to lack of welding skill on the part of the mechanised or robotic system suppliers. However, the automated welding system has not been achieved much because of difficulties of the mathematical model and sensor technologies. In this paper, the possibilities of the fuzzy regression method in modeling the bead width in the robotic arc-welding process are presented. Fuzzy regression is a well-known method to deal with the problems with a high degree of fuzziness so that the approach is employed to build the relationship between four process variables and the quality characteristic, such as bead width. Using the developed model, the proper prediction of the process variables for obtaining the optimal bead width can be determined.</P>
Flavones from the Bark of Lindera caudata and Their Anti-Tobacco Mosaic Virus Activity

Two new flavones, 5-hydroxy-8-hydroxymethyl-7,4′-dimethoxy-flavone (1) and 6-hydroxy-8-hydroxymethyl-7,4′-dimethoxy-flavone (2), together with six known flavones (3–8), were isolated from the bark of Lindera caudata. The structures of 1–8 were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including extensive 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Compounds 1–8 were evaluated for their anti-tobacco mosaic virus (anti-TMV) activity. The results showed that Compounds 1 and 2 showed high anti-TMV activity with inhibition rates of 31.2 and 28.8%, respectively. These values are close to those of positive control.

The alongside replenishment scheduling problem with time constraint determining the partition of the ships, the order of replenishment and the allocation of time to the ships at the same time is analyzed. It is equivalent to a multi-stage flow shop scheduling problem with the object of maximizing the effectiveness value of ship fleet. The problem solving process is divided into three steps, and based on the analysis of the three steps, a heuristic algorithm is proposed. The algorithm firstly considers the time allocated to each ship, and then sequences the ships by heuristic rule combining greed with insertion, finally determines the ships partitioning to the port and standard side. Emulating example with different problems’ scale and time constraints shows that the proposed heuristic algorithm is superior to some other algorithms.

Viola tianshanica Maxim, belonging to the Violaceae plant family, is traditionally used in Uighur medicine for treating pneumonia, headache, and fever. There is, however, a lack of basic understanding of its pharmacological activities. This study was designed to observe the effects of the ethanol extract (TSM) from Viola tianshanica Maxim on the inflammation response in acute lung injury (ALI) induced by LPS and the possible underlying mechanisms. We found that TSM (200 and 500 mg/kg) significantly decreased inflammatory cytokine production and the number of inflammatory cells, including macrophages and neutrophils, in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. TSM also markedly inhibited the lung wet-to-dry ratio and alleviated pathological changes in lung tissues. In vitro, after TSM (12.5-100 μg/ml) treatment to RAW 264.7 cells for 1 h, LPS (1 μg/ml) was added and the cells were further incubated for 24 h. TSM dose-dependently inhibited the levels of proinflammatory cytokines, such as NO, PGE<sub>2</sub>, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β, and remarkably decreased the protein and mRNA expression of TNF-α and IL-6 in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. TSM also suppressed protein expression of p-IκBa and p-ERK1/2 and blocked nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65. The results indicate that TSM exerts anti-inflammatory effects related with inhibition on NF-κB and MAPK (p-ERK1/2) signaling pathways. In conclusion, our data demonstrate that TSM might be a potential agent for the treatment of ALI.

This work aims to explore optimal design and control of thermal buckling for composite laminates with piezoelectric fiber reinforced composite (PFRC) actuators. Fourvariable trigonometric shear deformation theory without introduction of a shear correction factor is used in the structural modeling. The high accuracy of the present approach is examined by analyzing the critical buckling temperature and natural frequency compared with references results. A temperature feedback control approach is proposed in designing the controller. Taking fiber angle as the optimization design variable, layerwise optimization approach (LOA) is applied to maximize critical buckling temperature of piezolaminated plate and a set of stacking sequences are obtained. The resulting analysis demonstrates that the proposed control approach can clearly increase the critical buckling temperature of piezo-laminated plates. The optimization process developed is useful in devising stacking sequences for the piezo-laminated structures in thermal environments.

Background: This study was performed to analyze the prognostic implications of pretreatment or preoperative thrombocytosis in women with gynecologic malignancies. Material and Methods: We surveyed 2 medical databases, PubMed and EMBASE, to identified all relevant studies. A total of 14 (n=3,490) that evaluated the link between thrombocytosis and 5-year survival were included. REVMAN version 5.1 was used for our analysis and publication bias was evaluated using the Begg's funnel plot and tested by STATA 11.0. Risk ratios (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) generated by the random effect model were used to assess the strength of any association. Results: 709(20.3%) of the 3,490 patients exhibited thrombocytosis (platelet counts > $400{\times}10^9/L$) at primary diagnosis, and their mortality was 1.62-fold higher compared with the others (RR=1.62, 95%CI=[1.28-2.05], p<0.0001). Thrombocytosis failed to have a stronger effect on the survival of advanced patients of stages III to IV in our study (n=478, RR=1.29, 95% CI=[1.13-1.48], p=0.0003), nor in women with cervical cancer in stage IB (n=1371, RR=1.73, 95% CI=[1.71-2.58], p=0.007). In addition, when adjusted for different carcinoma, it was associated with worse prognosis for all except the ones with vulvar cancer (n=201, RR=0.43, 95% CI=[0.14-1.29], p=0.13). Conclusions: This meta-analysis indicated that thrombocytosis might be associated with a worse prognosis for patients with gynecologic malignancies but without specificity or sensitivity for the ones in advanced stage. When adjusted for different gynecologic malignancies, it showed a significant effect on survival of all except vulvar cancers.
