        저자들은 척수압박으로 하지마비를 보인 환자에서 수술 후에 급성 백혈병에 동반된 과립구성 육종으로 진단된 환자 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Granulocytic sarcoma(GS) is an uncommon tumor composed of immature cells of the granulocytic series. Most case of GS occur in the course of acute leukemia and the blast crisis of chronic leukemia, Rarely, however, it may present before leukemia becomes clinically apparent. It may also occur in patients with myeloproliferative disoders. GS has been reported that it occurs in 3% to 9% of patients with acute myelogenous leukemia(AML) and the incidence of GS is reported to be higher in patients with t(8;21). GS occurs relatively commonly in africa and has been reported to affect 10-25% of black children presenting with AML. This is very rare case of granulocytic sarcoma with AML(FAB M5) presented with spinal cord compression which was supported by decompression laminectomy.

      • Helicobacter pylori와 대장균의 Shuttle Vector 개발

        In this study, a vehicle vector using cryptic plasmids was constructed for gene transfer in Helicobacter pylori. pHP51(3.9 kb) and pHP489(1.2 kb) were selected for constructing vectors from cryptic plasmid of H. pylori isolates in Korea. The HindⅢ-digestedDNA fragment(1.2kb) of pHP489 and 1.6kb DNA fragment of pHP51 were ligated with a kanamycin resistance gene(aph3'-Ⅲ) from C. jejuni to produce the recombinant plasmids pHP489K and pHP51K, respectively. Transformation frequency of pHP51K by electroporation was low. But pHP489K could be effectively transformed into various H. pylori strains. In order to design an intermdiate vehicle vector for gene transfer into H. pylori, pBlueHP489K was prepared by recloning pHP489K DNA into pBluescript and pTZ19R vector. This vector permitted the DNA fragment containing pHP489 sequence, aph3'-Ⅲ, and cloned DNA to be cut and self-ligated in the SacⅠ site after cloning. ureA and ureB gene were inserted into pBlueHP489K, resulting in pBlueHP489K/AB. The DNA fragment containing pHP489, kanamycin resistance gene(aph3'-Ⅲ), and urease structural gene was cut away from pBlueHP489K/AB and self-ligated to generate pBlueHP489K/AB. pBlueHP489K/AB made urease-negative H. pylori strains restore their urease activity. By this experiment, pBlueHP489K was confirmed to be the vehicle system for transferring H. pylori genes.

        감마선 및 엑스선의 피이크 분석

        核分裂 및 放射化生成物質에서 放出하는 여러가지 감마선들은 核燃料를 破壞하지 않고도 推出할 수 있는 많은 情報를 包含한다. 그러나 半導體 檢出器에서 얻은 복잡한 스펙트럼에서 이러한 정보를 推出하기가 容易하지 않기 때문에 電算코드의 使用이 必要하게 된다. 本 硏究에서는 그동안 國際的으로 널리 普及되어 使用되는 감마선 分析 프로그램들의 長點을 취하여, 감마선은 물론 X-線의 스펙트럼도 피팅(fitting)하여 피이크의 중심과 면적을 正確히 計算할 수 있는 전산코드 CAERI를 開發하였다. CAERI는 FORTRAN으로 쓰여있고, 특히 固有輻射線幅(natural line width)을 무시할 수 없는 X-線의 피이크 表現函數인 Voigt 函數에 대해서는 다른 X-線 分析 프로그램들이 使用한 간단한 近似式 대신에, 더욱 正確한 無限級數近似式을 사용하였다. 특히 CAERI는 U이나 Pu과 같은 重元素의 核種分析時에 直面하는 감마선과 U이나 Pu의 X-線이 任意로 ()()하여 共存하는 복잡한 스펙트럼까지도 取扱할 수 있다. ()Lu감마선과 ()U K()X-線의 試驗스펙트럼을 피팅하여 다른 프로그램들의 피팅결과와 비교했을 때 좋은 一致를 보았다. A great variety of nuclear gamma rays emitted from fission and activation products of spent nuclear fuel contains much information that can be clicited without affecting the integrity of the fuel elements. But the extraction of such information form the comples spectrum is difficult and requires computer codes. In the present work, a versatile code "CAERI" was developed which located peaks and calculates their areas for X-rays as well as gamma rays using elegant features of some widely used program for gamma-ray peak fitting. "CAERI"coded in FORTRAN used infinite series approximation more accurate than other workers various simple, piecewise series approsimations for evaluations of the Viogt function which represents the X-ray peak with non-negligible natural line width. "CAERI" can handle even a complex multiplet consisting of peaks from X-rays and gamma rays in arbitray mixture, which one often encounters in the isotopic analysis of heavy elements such as U and Pu. The results of the fitting performed on the test spectra of ()Lu ()-ray and ()U K() X-ray show good agreement with those by previous workers.

      • EVA Nanocomposites 제조 및 특성연구

        Ethylene vinyl acetate random copolymer(EVA)/layered-silicate nanocomposites were prepared by melt or solution blending. The TGA thermograms of EVA/ layered-silicate nanocomposites showed an improved thermal stability as the layered-silicate contents increased. The decomposition temperature of nanocomposite was increased around 10℃ compared with pure EVA at 50% weight loss under N_2 atmosphere And in an air atmosphere, temperature difference in 50% wt loss between the nanocomposlte and the virgin EVA was around 100℃ The moduli in their thermomechanical module of nanocomposite are higher than pure EVA. Interlayered spacings of nanosilicates were slightly increased when prepared by melt blending. On the other hand, they were remarkably increased when prepared by solution blending. It may be explained that EVA moiety of the copolymer showed partial adsorption behavior on the surface layer of the silicate. It also revealed that the adsorption is more effective in the solution blending than in the melt blending.

        구강 악안면 연조직 결손 재건을 위한 진피 지방 이식의 이용 : 증례보고

        Soft tissue defects in oral & maxillofacial region caused by tumor resection, trauma, congenital deformities have been treated in autogenous soft tissue flap, allogenic material, free dermal graft, fascia graft. Of these methods, autogenous dermis graft had initially been applied in hernia treatment at the beginning of nineteenth century and have been applied in soft tissue augmentation coverage of vital structure, dead space removal and reconstruction of fascia. A fat graft is used in reconstruction of orbit at the enucleation, restoration of facial contours, etc. In this case, patient with chin soft tissue defect in traffic accident was treated in autogenous dermis-fat graft from patient's abdominal and gluteal region. Chin defect was recons ructed favorably. There was no severe atrophy of grafted area 12 months postoperatively. We will report the result that is favorable esthetically with literature review.

        To control the position, velocity and torque of the ultrasonic motor, a great variety of method are proposed such as the amplitude, phase difference, frequency and so on. In the case of phase difference method, it has some advantages; it can control the direction and velocity of rotation only adjusting the phase difference and it has wide control-band. During the USM driving on adjusting phase difference, its characteristic was transformed by the change of resonance-frequency of stator, which means that the resonance frequency is different according to the phase difference. Consequently, we need to set up the most suitable driving frequency according to each phase difference.

      • 성인형 T세포 백혈병 1례

        Adult T-cell leukemia(ATLL) is an endemic disease in southwestern Japan and the Caribbean, but occurs sporadically in most of the world. HTLV-1 is recognized as the etiologic agent of adult T-cell leukemia. ATLL is characterized by leukemia, lymphadenopathy tumor infiltration of the skin, hepatomegaly, hypercalcemia and lytic bone lesions. We report one case of ATLL, in Korea, which was confirmed by typical clinical findings and positive findings of HTLV-1. A 48 year old women, suffering from nausea and vomiting for 5 days, was admitted to hospital on June 1998. At admission, she had cervical lymphadenopathy. Her peripheral leukocytes count was 10.400/mm3 with 1-2% atypical lymphocytes containing pleomorphic and convoluted nucleus. In the bone marrow, a part of nucleated cells were leukemic cells. These abnormal cells had surface markers of helper T-cell(T4) and had positive finding of HTLV-1. Based on above mentioned findings, this case was diagnosed as ATLL. Despite of combined chemotherapy and intensive supportive care, she died of respiratory failure on 61 hospital days.

        The superoxide anion radical(O₂ ­) poses a threat to macromocules and cell organelles of the living cells. This toxicity damage to all groups of proteins results in loss of enzyme function concerned with metabolism and ion transport, and peroxidation of unsaturated fatty acids and cholesterol results in a change of permeability characteristics of the membrane, and oxidative of nucleic acids results in genomic damage and thereby cause mutation, potential carcinogenesis and somatic damage that produce cellular aging. Superoxide dismutase(SOD) has received substantial attention as a potential therapeutic agent. It has been investigated as a possible agent for the prevention of oncogenesis, the reduction of cytotoxic effect of anticancer drugs, and protection against damage in ischemic tissue. It is suggest that O₂ ­ is concerned with cellular aging, thereafter we need to investigate herb that activated to SOD.

      • 운동강도별 지구성 운동이 호흡순환기능에 미치는 영향

        For the purpose of this research we had selected 12 college male - 6 for the control group, 6 for the exercise group(30% VO_(2)max, Ventilatory Threshold, 75% VO_(2)max) - to prove that endurance exercise influences the thermophysiological responses, cardiopulmonary functions, and body composition. According to endurance exercise, we made the groups 3 exercise intensity and we measured the effect of the cardiopulmonary functions, and body composition for 30min. And we came to the conclusions below. VE, VO_(2) and HR all measured items show significant difference(p<.01), between measured period, were higher in 75% exercise group, VT exercise group, 35% exercise group subsequently.

      • 냉간 가공에 따른 니겔-타이타니움 합금의 형상기억온도 변화에 관한 연구

        Thermo-mechanical and microstructural study has been conducted to examine the effects of deformation on nickel-titanium alloy in order to improve their shape memory property and mechanical properties. Changes in mechanical and thermal properties are investigated after various deformation conditions (uniaxial prestrains of 0-16%) Microstructures were observed with optical and scanning electron mi-croscope(SEM). Thermal properties such as transition temperature As, Af, Ms, Mf, and △H(shape recovery starting and finishing temperatures, martensite transformation starting and finishing temperatures, and enthalpy change respectively) were measured with a differential scanning calorimeter(DSC). The results indicate that uniaxial deformation of more than 8% strain shows increased shape recovery temperatre and broadens the transition temperature range.
