Brunner’s gland hyperplasia is a benign tumor of the duodenum and it is rarely associated with clinical symptoms. We report on a 64-yr-old man with Brunner’s gland hyperplasia who had undergone a duodenocephalo-pancreatectomy. The reason is that he presented upper gastrointestinal obstructive symptoms and the esophagogastroduodenoscopic finding revealed the lesion to be an infiltrating type mass on the second portion of the duodenum with luminal narrowing. An abdominal computed tomography showed a 2.5 cm-sized mass in the duodenal second portion with a suspicious pancreatic invasion and 7 mm-sized lymph node around the duodenum. Duodenocephalopancreatectomy was successfully performed. Histological examination revealed a Brunner’s gland hyperplasia. The final diagnosis was the coexistence of Brunner’s gland hyperplasia and pancreatic heterotopia with a pancreatic head invasion. The literature on Brunner’s gland hyperplasia is reviewed.
A Study on Surface Roughness in Circular Pocket Machining of SCM415 Steel

In this study, we study the change of surface roughness during cutting machining by changing the cutting conditions such as feed rate and spindle velocity with chromium molybdenum steel (SCM415) material and TiCN and TiAlN coated end mill tools. The surface roughness value of the test specimen for SCM415, was found to be 3,000 rpm in TiCN coated end mill and 0.634 ㎛ in surface roughness at a feed rate of 100 ㎜/min. In the TiAlN coated end mill, 300 ㎜/min, the surface roughness was the best at 0.699 ㎛. The overall average surface roughness of each coating tool was better than that of TiAlN.
Effect of Pad's Surface Deformation and Oscillation on Monocrystalline Silicon Wafer Surface Quality

The silicon wafer polishing process has sensitive machining requirements owing to the interaction between various complex process factors, which can include the pad, slurry, applied pressure, polishing speed, polishing time, dressing condition, and the machining temperature. Among these important machining factors, applied pressure, polishing speed, and polishing time were examined. The optimum condition of wafer final polishing was investigated using the Taguchi approach. Moreover, variations in oscillation speed were added to the experiment and it was found that changing the surface contact velocity helped to improve the surface quality of the wafer. Furthermore, the pad surface characteristics which influences wafer surface quality after wafer final polishing with and without oscillation were studied and adding an oscillation speed in wafer final polishing has the dual benefit of improving wafer surface quality and reducing consumable costs. Finally, by selecting the optimum condition, it could achieve an ultra-precision wafer surface with almost no defects.
Magnetic properties of Mn-doped Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> and Sb<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub>

<P>We have fabricated Mn-doped Bi<SUB>2</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB> and Sb<SUB>2</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB> single crystals by the vertical gradient solidification method. The compositions and crystal structures of Bi<SUB>2−x</SUB>Mn<SUB>x</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB> and Sb<SUB>2−x</SUB>Mn<SUB>x</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB> were determined using Electron Probe Micro-Analyzer (EPMA) and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, respectively. Both crystal structures were rhombohedral with smaller lattice constants because of the smaller atomic radius of Mn than those of Bi and Sb. Based on the magnetization measurements, Mn-doped Bi<SUB>2</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB> and Sb<SUB>2</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB> compounds have ferromagnetic ordering at T<SUB>C</SUB> = 10 and 17 K, respectively. 폐암 환자의 생존율을 예측할 때 미국암연합회(AJCC)의 TNM병기 분류체계에 의해 진단되는 최종병기를 많이 사용한다. 최종병기는 폐암환자의 임상데이터 중 하나로 종양의 위치, 크기, 전이정도를 고려하여 환자의 폐암 상태를 판별하는 정보이다. 최종병기는 개략적인 환자의 상황을 설명하는 데 효과적이지만, 보다 구체적인 생존분석을 위해서는 임상데이터 뿐만 아니라 PET/CT와 같은 영상 데이터를 함께 분석해야 한다. 이 논문에서는 데이터 과학적 접근을 통해 폐암환자의 임상데이터, CT영상과 PET영상 등 다양한 종류의 데이터를 함께 활용하는 생존분석기법을 검토한다. 실험을 통해 다중 모드 데이터를 활용하는 생존분석을 위해 비선형모델 개발과 Feature임베딩 기법 고도화가 필요함을 확인하였다.
