Higher incidences of adverse reaction associated with the prolonged use of synthetic drugs has once again increased the faith of humans in the traditional systems of medicine and motivated them to return back towards the clinical proven remedies for the treatment. It is also true that number of modern medications used in the present scenario, were developed from various plants. In Unani System of medicine, numerous herbal drugs are mentioned for medicinal purpose. Siras (Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth.) is one of them. It is found all over India. Almost all parts of this plant are used for the treatment of ailments such as migraine, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, jaundice, skin problems, asthma etc. Many chemical constituents have been isolated from Albizia lebbeck such as lebbekannin, echinocystic acid, flavonoids, Linoleic acid, saponins etc. This review highlights the medicinal properties and therapeutic uses of Albizia lebbeck and scientific studies conducted on the drug in human and animal models that will provide the further research direction.
A Note on $(p,q)$-analogue Type of Frobenius-Genocchi Numbers and Polynomials
Waseem A. Khan,Idrees A. Khan 영남수학회 2020 East Asian mathematical journal Vol.36 No.1
The main purpose of this paper is to introduce Apostol type (p, q)-Frobenius-Genocchi numbers and polynomials of order α and inves- tigate some basic identities and properties for these polynomials and num- bers including addition theorems, difference equations, derivative proper- ties, recurrence relations. We also obtain integral representations, im- plicit and explicit formulas and relations for these polynomials and num- bers. Furthermore, we consider some relationships for Apostol type (p, q)- Frobenius-Genocchi polynomials of order α associated with (p, q)-Apostol Bernoulli polynomials, (p, q)-Apostol Euler polynomials and (p, q)-Apostol Genocchi polynomials.
Partially degenerate poly-Bernoulli polynomials associated with Hermite polynomials
WASEEM A. KHAN,Moin Ahmad 장전수학회 2018 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.28 No.3
In this paper, we derive generating functions for the partially degenerate Hermite poly-Bernoulli polynomials and investigate some properties of these polynomials related to the Stirling numbers of the second kind. Further, we derive the summation formulae and general symmetry identities for that polynomials by using different analytical means on its generating function. Also, generating functions and summation formulae for the polynomials related to partially degenerate Hermite poly- Bernoulli polynomials are obtained as applications of main results.
CERTAIN NEW EXTENSION OF HURWITZ-LERCH ZETA FUNCTION
WASEEM A. KHAN,M. GHAYASUDDIN,Moin Ahmad 한국전산응용수학회 2019 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.37 No.1
In the present research paper, we introduce a further exten- sion of Hurwitz-Lerch zeta function by using the generalized extended Beta function dened by Parmar et al. [9]. We investigate its integral represen- tations, Mellin transform, generating functions and dierential formula. In view of diverse applications of the Hurwitz-Lerch Zeta functions, the results presented here may be potentially useful in some related research areas.
Female body, femininity and authority in Bollywood: The “new” woman in Dangal and Queen
Waseem Ahad,Selma Koç Akgül 이화여자대학교 아시아여성학센터 2020 Asian Journal of Women's Studies(AJWS) Vol.26 No.1
Bollywood’s departure from its earlier constructions of women as sex objects, victims of male violence, dependent, obedient and peripheral, is partly due to global/transnational cultural and economic flows that have influence in Indian society. What needs to be charted out is how patriarchal anxieties continue to emerge in recent Bollywood movies where women otherwise appear to assume assertive screen presence and play dominant roles. This study seeks to disentangle notions of “national” and “local,” in particular, because the former does not explain India’s family or local community settings that exercise substantial control over women. Through an analysis of two films, Dangal (2016) and Queen (2014), this study shows how present-day Bollywood appropriates opposing ideals of Hinduism and liberal ideology; therefore, the stories remain rooted in contemporary social discourse. It will be seen that the somewhat masculine woman in Dangal, who is divested of erotic and reproductive attributes, bears the double-burden of subordination by a family patriarch and becoming a national symbol. Through its scrutiny of Queen, the study also demonstrates how a new Indian femininity, “assertive” and “confident,” is mediated by the dominant male cultural gaze. The films offer useful models for comparison of varying forms of femininities.

The fast evolving Electric vehicles (EVs) have become popular due to their zero-emission, fuel economy and better technology. However, the performance and life of batteries are very sensitive to temperature, it is important to maintain the proper temperature range. The battery thermal management system (BTMS) plays an important role in the performance of EVs. In this context, this study is conducted to evaluate the thermal performance of a battery with a parallel system using an induction heater. The GT-Suite software is used for simulation and evaluation. Mixture of water and ethylene glycol 50:50 is used as a working fluid and controlled by pump and valves. The heating rate of battery was analyzed by changing the capacity of induction heater 2, 4 and 6 kW and the flow rate of fluid was 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 27 LPM. The simulation work predicts that the battery heating rate increases with the increase in fluid flow. The study concluded that the battery heating rate is maximum with a flow rate of 27 LPM which is the highest amount of LPM, indicating that the rise in flow rate causes the increase in heating rate of the system which is also affected by induction heater capacity.

Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to evaluate the effect of the main operational variables, including initial pH, initial chromium ion concentration, bulk density of GAC and time on the removal of hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) from contaminated groundwater by permeable reactive barriers (PRB) with acid-modified granular activated carbon (GAC) as an adsorbent material. The removal rates of Cr(VI) under different values of these parameters were investigated and results indicated high adsorption capacity at low pH and low initial metal ion concentration of Cr(VI), but the bulk density of GAC slightly influenced the process efficiency. According to the ANOVA (analysis of variance) results, the model presents high R2 values of 94.35% for Cr(VI) removal efficiency, which indicates that the accuracy of the polynomial models was good. Also, quadratic regression models with estimated coefficients were developed to describe the pollutant removals.

Catalyst-assisted c- and m-axis GaN NWs were grown on a c-plane GaN thin film by varying the NH3 flow rate and reactor pressure. The grown NWs were then utilized to fabricate the flexible piezoelectric nanogenerators (PNGs) to practically investigate the impact of the c- and m-axis GaN NWs on the piezoelectric response. The c-axis GaN NWs exhibited a higher piezoelectric output than m-axis GaN NWs. Furthermore, the GaN/V2O5 core-shell structure was utilized in the NWs to suppress the internal carrier screening that degrades the piezoelectric output. The maximum output voltage (27 V) exhibited by core-shell c-axis NWs was thrice the voltage exhibited by pristine c-axis GaN NWs (9 V). A stability test was performed for one hour to verify the feasibility of using flexible PNGs for real applications.
