        세균독소로 자극시킨 사람 섬유아 세포에서의 Interleukin-6와 Interleukin-8의 생성

        Cytokines are hormone-like proteins which mediate and regulate inflammatory and immune responses. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is involved in the final differentiation of B cells into antibody-producing cells. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a neutrophil chemotactic factor that plays an important role in the recruitment of neutrophil to inflammatory loci. Inflammatory mediators by cells in the gingiva have been implicated in the initiation and progression of periodontitis and oral infection. The purpose of this study was conducted to investigate the effect of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), staphylococcus enterotoxin B (SEB) on production ofIL-6 and IL-8 by human gingival and facial dermal fibroblasts. Primary cultured human gingival and facial dermal fibroblasts were incubated with LPS(0.01, 0.1, 1.0㎍/ml), SEB (0.01, 0.1, 1.0㎍/ml) or LPS (0.1㎍/ml) plus SEB (0.1㎍/ml). Culture supernatants were collected at 24, 48, and 72 hrs and assessed for IL-6 and IL-8 production by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. IL-6 production in gingival fibroblasts stimulated with LPS was higher than that with SEB. IL-6 production by double exposure with LPS plus SEB was amplified in comparison with single exposure of LPS or SEB. IL-6 production in facial demal fibroblasts was increased only by stimulation with a high concertration of LPS (1.0㎍/ml). Its production in facial dermal fibroblasts by exposure with SEB was decreased in comparison with control, nontreated cells. Therefore, gingival fibroblasts showed higher sensitivity than facial dermal fibroblasts in response to low concentration of LPS. Also, IL-6 production by double exposure with LPS plus SEB was amplified in comparison with single exposure of LPS or SEB.IL-6 production in facial dermal fibroblasts was increased only by stimulation with a high concentration of LPS(1.0㎍/ml). Its production in facial dermal fibroblasts by exposure with SEB was decreased in comparison with control, nontreated cells. Therefore, gingival fibroblasts showed higher sensitvity than facial dermal fibroblasts in response to low concentration of LPS. Also, IL-6 production by double exposure with LPS plus SEB was amplified in comparison with single exposure of LPS or SEB. IL-8 production in gingival fibroblasts was enhanced greatly only by stimulation of high concentration of LPS (1.0㎍/ml). That by exposure with SEB was increased only in 24 hrs cultivation. IL-8 production by double exposure with LPS plus SEB was amplified in comparison with single exposure of LPS or SEB. IL-8 production in facial dermal fibroblasts was decreased by LPS and increased only in 48 hrs cultivation by SEB. IL-8 production by double exposure with LPS plus SEB was enhanced only in 48 hrs cultivation in comparison with single exposure of LPS or SEB. therefore, IL-6 and IL-8 production were released at various quantities according to bacterial toxin applied and site of fibroblast harvested. These results suggest that gingival fibroblasts may be concerned with IL-6 and IL-8 related inflammatory response more than facial dermal fibroblasts.

      • 획을 이용한 소형 전자기기용 한글 입력 시스템

        With advance of cellular phone technologies, the use of short message transmission with small or portable electronic devices has been explosively increasing. In spite of such demands there have been not many studies for Korean characters and their symbol combinations (below "Hangul"). While some other studies have been focused on the Hangul vowel, in this paper we proposed a new Hangul input system which presents Hangul consonants with basic symbol components (called as "hweok"). And we have performed performance evaluation with comparison to SK's Chunjiin and LG's Naragul in terms of the number of key buttons, finger moving distance and key strokes. The proposed system can make all of Korean characters with 5 or 6 Hangul hweoks without significant degradation of system performance.

      • 무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 에너지 인식 하이브리드 클러스터링

        Many studies for the efficient utilization of node energy in wireless sensor networks has been done because sensor nodes operate with limited power based on battery. Existing cluster structure has problem that energy consumption is unbalanced because energy consumption is concentrated in cluster head. And in case distribution density of sensor node is low, the energy efficiency is declined because only a few members exist in cluster. In this paper, we submit an hybrid clustering mechanism to construct topology by mixing cluster structure and mesh structure selectively according to distribution of sensor nodes to improve energy efficiency. And we attempt to derive balanced energy consumption by selecting cluster head considering residual energy of each node. The performance of the proposed mechanism has been examined and evaluated with the NS-2 simulator in terms of network lifetime and end-to-end delay.

      • 무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 효율적인 에너지 인식 라우팅 프로토콜

        The efficient node-energy utilization in wireless sensor networks has been studied because sensor nodes operate with limited battery power. To extend the lifetime of the wireless sensor networks, we reduced the node energy consumption of the overall network while maintaining all sensors balanced node power use. Since a large number of sensor nodes are densely deployed and cooperated in wireless sensor network, the lifetime extension of a sensor network is maintained by keeping many sensor nodes alive. In this paper, we submit an efficient energy aware routing portocol for wireless sensor networks to increase its lifetime without degrading network performance. The proposed protocol is designed to avoid traffic congestion on specific nodes at data transfer and to make the node power consumption widely distributed to increase the lifetime of the network. The performance of the proposed protocol has been examined and evaluated with the NS-1 simulator in terms of network lifetime and end-to-end delay.

        抗精神病藥物이 血淸 Dopamine-β-Hydroxylase 活性度에 미치는 影響 : 慢性 精神分裂病患者를 中心으로

        To investigate the effect of antipsychotic drugs directly, the serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activty was measured before and after three weeks' washout period in chronic schizophrenics. Total number of subjects were eighty-two chronic schizophrenics, consisting of forty-eight male and thirty-four female patients. The diagnostic criteria was based on DSM-Ⅲ and duplicated assay was applied by modified Udenfriend method. The results were as follows; 1. After three weeks' washout period, the serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activity was 13.50±2.12 in male, 11.72±2.12 in total patients. Serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activity of female patients were significantly lower than in male patients.(p<0.001) 2. The range of serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase in total patients was from 8.45 to 18.45㎛ol/min/1, which is relatively small compared with previous reports in the literature. 3. During the three weeks' washout period, the percent change was -8.81±17.35% in male (p<0.01), 1.94±20.92% in female(N.S), and -4.35±19.64%(p<0.05) in total patients compare to the serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activity of three weeks' washout period. The difference between male and female(p<0.02) is not clear. 4. During the three weeks' washout period, the absolute value of percent change was 16.48±10.36% in male, 17.71±13.93% in female, and 16.57±11.40% in total patients. (all, p<0.001) 5. The percent change of serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activity did not seem to be related to the type of drugs, dose of drugs, age, hospital duration, duration of illness, and the presence of active symptom. 6. In summary, the current findings suggest that the interpretation of data indicating low serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activity in medicated schizophrenics should be made with caution.

        精神分裂病에서의 血小板 Monoamine Oxidase 活性度와 血漿 Estradiol, Progesterone 및 Testosterone의 相關關係에 關한 硏究

        The hypothesis that certain central dopaminergic systems may be overactive in schizophrenia has quite generally accepted by many investigators. Studies of monoamine oxidase (MAO), the major degradating enzyme of biogenic monoamine, have provided a focus for recent biological in schizophrenia. This study was set up to determine the alteration of platelet MAO activity and its sexual differences, the change of plasm sex hormone levels and the correlation between platelet MAO activity and plasma sex hormone levels, in 130 schizophrenics, comparing with 197 normal healthy subjects. Platelet MAO activity was determined fluorometrically by the modified method of Kraml, measuring the deamination of kynuramine to 4-OH quinoline, and was expressed as nanomoles of quinoline produced per milligram of platelet protein per hour. At the same time, plasma estradiol, progesterone and testosterone levels wers determined by radioimmunoassay technique, Following results were obtained. 1. Platelet MAO activity is not different in acute schizophrenics, but is low significantly in chronic schizophrenics (63.7% of normal control group). 2. Platelet MAO activity is lower in male chronic schizophrenics(56.06% of control group) than female(64.69%), and the sex difference is significant. 3. Plasma estradiol level is significantly low in male chronic schizophrenics(71.82%). 4. The correlation coefficient between platelet MAO activity and plasma sex hormone levels reveal negative correlation between platelet MAO activity and plasma testosterone level in female chronic schizophrenics. From the results of the study, it is strongly suggested that the sex difference of platelet MAO activity in chronic schizophrenia is related to the alteration of plasma sex hormone levels.

      • 퍼지 제어기를 이용한 브러시리스 직류전동기의 속도 제어에 관한 연구

        This paper deals with the speed control of a BLDCM with rectangular back electromotive force using fuzzy logic controller. The fuzzy PI controllers make the many degrees of freedom in proportion to the number of the rule for input and its ability of adjustment for control input is excellent. Thus, the proper adjustment of the fuzzy rules can provide the good performance for the system. Above all, the advantage of the fuzzy controller has the characteristic of robustness for parameter variation, load change, noises. As a current controller, a hysterisis current controller is implemented, and in order to reduce torque ripple in low speed range, current controller detects the uncommutating mode current for every 60 electrical degree. The fuzzy speed controller is implemented by MCS80C196KC, a 16 bit one-chip microprocessor. The experimental results show that the performance of the fuzzy speed controller is superior to that of the conventional PI controller in terms of robustness for the change of load torque.

      • 보건관리 대행사업 평가도구의 타당성, 신뢰도 및 인과관계 검증에 관한 연구

        In order to verify the validity, reliability and relativeness of preliminary evaluation tool for the group occupational health services(GOHS), a questionnaire survey for doctors, nurses and hygienists of 18 GOSH institutions, and employers, health managers and employees of 340 enterprises was conducted. A factor analysis and correlation test for the statistical validity of the variables in the evaluation tool, a Chronbach's Alpha value for the reliability in the evaluation indices and a regression analysis for the relations of the evaluation model were performed. The results were as follows: 1.In factor analysis, thirty-three variables among 43 variables were selected as significant variables, ie 9 out of 11 for input index, 11 out of 14 for throughout index and 13 out of 18 for out put index. 2.Three evaluation(outcome) scales(evaluation by employer, health manager and employee) which composed of 16 identical items were used. 3.The Chronbach's Alpha values of input, throughout, out put and outcome indices were 0.5221, 0.5473, 0.7122 and 0.8546 respectively. 4.Regression equations of independent variables on the evaluation scales of employer, health manager and employee were all statistically significant.
