In this work, the CeO2-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 anode was successfully prepared through a solid-state process. The space-charge effect induced by the internal adsorption of ions on the CeO2 surface can easilyresult in a formation of an excellent conductive interfacial layer between CeO2 and SrLi2Ti6O14. The goodelectrical contact between CeO2 and SrLi2Ti6O14 offers more active sites for the electrolyte storage andredox reaction, and promotes the intercalation/deintercalation of lithium ions, and thus improves therate performance and cycle stability. Due to its unique structure and composition, the CeO2-decoratedSrLi2Ti6O14 composites exhibit high reversible capacities, good cycle performance and outstanding rateperformance. Especially, the CeO2 (5 wt%)-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 anode shows the most excellent electrochemicalperformance, which delivers a large charge capacity of 121.3 mAh g 1 and a capacity retentionof 94.48% after 100 cycles at 0.5 A g 1. However, the corresponding charge capacity and capacity retentionof pristine SrLi2Ti6O14 are 100.5 mAh g 1 and 86.77%, respectively. The CeO2(5 wt%)-decoratedSrLi2Ti6O14 with enhanced rate capacity, cycle stability and structural stability is a potential electrodematerial candidate for Li-ion battery.

Dichlorodiphenoxytrichloroethane (DDT), a persistent organic pollutant and hepatotoxicant, is used to control the malaria. However, scarce information exists on relevant effective inhibitors of DDT’ toxicity. The aim of this study was to investigate protective effects of natural antioxidants vitamin C (VC) or/and vitamin E (VE) on p,pʹ-DDT-induced genotoxicity and hepatotoxicity in human liver cells. p,pʹ-DDT exposure increased levels of chromatin condensation, comet parameter, micronucleus induction and DPC coefficient of HL-7702 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Also, an increase in mRNA levels of CYP1A1 as well as CYP3A4, and a decrease in UGT along with GST were observed. Interestingly, supplementation with VC or/and VE prevented p,pʹ-DDT-caused alterations in DNA damage and phase metabolism gene expressions, and the combination of VC and VE had a more protective effect than VC or VE alone. These findings illustrated that VC or/and VE could be beneficial for the alleviation of p,pʹ-DDT-incurred toxicity in human liver cells.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Peroxynitrite (ONOO−) is one of the endogenous reactive oxygen species (ROS), which causes damage to a wide array of molecular components in the cells, including DNA and proteins, owing to its high oxidizing as well as nitrating properties. Thus, the development of more sensitive and selective techniques for detecting ONOO−, with high biocompatibilities, sensitivities, and site-specificities, is a significant goal. Imbalanced Data Classification Based on AdaBoost-SVM
Li Peng,Bi Ting-ting,Yu Xiao-yang,Li Si-ben 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.7 No.5
The classification of imbalanced data is one of the most challenging problems in data mining and machine learning research. Imbalanced dataset is a form that exists in reality area, which describes truly and objectively the essential characters of something. There will appear paucity of data and flooded in the classification of imbalanced dataset. Beside problems such as loss of information and data splitting phenomenon will also appear when using the traditional machine learning methods. So how to solve the classification problem of imbalanced data will be challenging. In this paper, aiming at the above problems, a classification algorithm based on AdaBoost-SVM is proposed. In the experiments with four typical forms of imbalanced data sets in UCI were validated the effectiveness of this strategy.

Background: A number of studies have identified a shared susceptibility locus in phospholipase C epsilon 1 (PLCE1) for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and gastric cardia adenocarcinomas (GCA). However, the results of PLCE1 expression in esophageal and gastric cancer remain inconsistent and controversial. Moreover, the effects on clinicopathological features remain undetermined. This study aimed to provide a precise quantification of the association between PLCE1 expression and the risk of ESCC and GCA through meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: Eligible studies were identified from PubMed, Wanfang Data, ISI Web of Science, and the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. Using RevMan5.2 software, pooled odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were employed to assess the association of PLCE1 expression with clinicopathological features relative to ESCC or GCA. Results: Seven articles were identified, including 761 esophageal and gastric cancer cases and 457 controls. Overall, we determined that PLCE1 expression was associated with tumor progression in both esophageal cancers (pooled OR=5.93; 95%CI=3.86 to 9.11) and gastric cancers (pooled OR=9.73; 95%CI=6.46 to 14.7). Moreover, invasion depth (pooled OR=3.62; 95%CI=2.30 to 5.70) and lymph node metastasis (pooled OR=4.21; 95%CI=2.69 to 6.59) were linked with PLCE1 expression in gastric cancer. However, no significant associations were determined between PLCE1 overexpression and the histologic grade, invasion depth, and lymph node metastasis in esophageal cancer. Conclusions: Our metaanalysis results indicated that upregulated PLCE1 is significantly associated with an increased risk of tumor progression in ESCC and GCA. Therefore, PLCE1 expression can be appropriately regarded as a promising biomarker for ESCC and GCA patients.
Experiments of Sand Distribution among Perforation Clusters in a Horizontal Pipe

Multistage horizontal fracturing is the key technique in developing shale gas reservoirs. Although the parameters of perforation clusters are almost the same in each stage, production from each perforation cluster is vastly different. One of the factors that influences gas production between perforation clusters is the uneven proppant distribution among perforation clusters. In order to investigate proppant distribution among perforation clusters, the theory on proppant settling along horizontal lateral is presented to calculate the minimal critical velocity. Meanwhile, experiments on 20/40 and 40/70 mesh sand distribution with different concentrations were conducted at different pumping rates utilizing slick water fluids. The experimental parameters of perforation cluster, such as perforation density, length, and distance between clusters are scaled to simulate the actual treatment in shale gas fracturing. Therefore, the experimental results in this study can represent the actual distribution of proppants among perforation clusters. The results are analyzed, and some conclusions are presented. Pumping rate and viscosity are the two important factors that can have a big impact on the sand distribution. At a lower pumping rate, more sand was deposited at the first perforation cluster, whereas at a high pumping rate, more sand was deposited at the third cluster. The viscosity of slick water will also affect sand distribution largely. At a low fluid viscosity, sand distribution was varied much among clusters at the same pumping rate, and sand tended to distribute evenly when the fluid viscosity is increased. Therefore, in order to distribute proppants evenly among perforation clusters, the treatment parameters such as the pumping rate or the viscosity of slick water fluid can be adjusted accordingly.

In this paper, we propose a new method of recovering full elemental images from partially occluded 3D object in computational integral imaging. We first detect the regions of occlusion and generate the entire elemental images of 3D object with occlusion by recursive error compensation using PCA reconstruction. The experimental results show that the proposed method provides an effective solution to the problem of partially occluded 3D object recognition.
