A study of atmospheric radon concentrations survey in Korea, Seoul was carried out with ERM(Electrostatic Radon Monitor) from October 1998 to September 1999. The mean of atmospheric radon concentrations 4.79Bq/㎥ at Seoul. Radon concentration were distributed 3.65-8.71Bq/㎥. The seasonal pattern seems to be relatively higher during the autumn and relatively low during the spring. The result from correlation analysis was significant obtained between atmospheric radon concentrations and meteorological factor.

To resolve overload in a distribution system, a distribution system operator (DSO) often performs a load transfer using normally open tie points and switches in the distribution line. During this process, the distribution system is momentarily operated in closed-loop operation. A closed-loop current in the distribution system can cause a power failure due to excess breaking current in the circuit breakers and reclosers. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the closed-loop current exactly. However, if there are a large number of distributed generation (DG) systems in the distribution system, such as energy storage systems (ESS), they might obstruct the closed-loop operation based on bidirectional power flow. For quick and precise operation of a closed-loop system, the ESS has to regulate the power generation while satisfying closed-loop operation in the worst cases. We propose a strategy for balanced power regulation of an ESS. Simulations were carried out using PSCAD/EMTDC, and the results were compared with calculation results.

<P>We developed a method to improve the electrical performance and stability of passivated amorphous In–Ga–Zn–O thin-film transistors by simultaneous ultraviolet and thermal (SUT) treatment. SUT treatment was carried out on fully fabricated thin-film transistors, including deposited source/drain and passivation layers. Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation disassociated weak and diatomic chemical bonds and generated defects, and simultaneous thermal annealing rearranged the defects. The SUT treatment promoted densification and condensation of the channel layer by decreasing the concentration of oxygen-vacancy-related defects and increasing the concentration of metal–oxide bonds. The SUT-treated devices exhibited improved electrical properties compared to nontreated devices: field-effect mobility increased from 5.46 to 13.36 V·s, sub-threshold swing decreased from 0.49 to 0.32 V/decade, and threshold voltage shift (for positive bias temperature stress) was reduced from 5.1 to 1.9 V.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2014/aamick.2014.6.issue-9/am405818x/production/images/medium/am-2013-05818x_0008.gif'></P>
Study of Nitrogen High-Pressure Annealing on InGaZnO Thin-Film Transistors

<P>We studied the effects of high-pressure annealing (HPA) on InGaZnO (IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs). HPA was proceeded after TFT fabrication as a post process to improve electrical performance and stability. We used N<SUB>2</SUB> as the pressurized gas. The applied pressures were 1 and 3 MPa at 200 °C. For N<SUB>2</SUB> HPA under 3 MPa at 200 °C, field-effect mobility and the threshold voltage shift under a positive bias temperature stress were improved by 3.31 to 8.82 cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(V s) and 8.90 to 4.50 V, respectively. The improved electrical performance and stability were due to structural relaxation by HPA, which leads to increased carrier concentration and decreased oxygen vacancy.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2014/aamick.2014.6.issue-16/am502571w/production/images/medium/am-2014-02571w_0005.gif'></P>

Objectives This study was designed to development the diagnosis indicators for the fatigue group without disease using analysis of questionnaire data. Methods The subjects were divided into three groups, the fatigue group with disease, the fatigue group without disease, non-fatigue group without disease. Thirteen kinds of questionnaire (Fatigue visual analogue scale, Fatigue severity scale, Pain visual analogue scale, Short-form McGill pain questionnaire score, Headache impact Test-6, Neck disability index, Oswestry low back pain disability questionnaire score, Blood stasis assessment scale, Physical activities questionnaire score, Beck depression inventory, Anger expression inventory score, Mood disability scale, Job stress scale) were carried out for the subjects. Results The results of this study are ; 1) The weight, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure were different among three groups. 2) Among nine questionnaires related to the physical or life conditions, the averages of eight questionnaires were not same one another. 3) Among four questionnaires related to the mental condition or autonomic nervous system, the averages of Beck depression inventory were not same one another. Conclusion The fatigue group without disease can be diagnosed through using the both the questionnaires related to the physical or life condition and the those related to the mental condition or autonomic nervous system.
Distribution of Rare Plants and Endemic Plants in Jirisan National Park

The results of the study of the rare and regional species of the Jirisan (Mt.) Korea National Park has reported 3 CR species, including the Allium victorialis var. platyphyllum, 4 EN species, including Rhododendron tschonoskii, 7 VU species, including Cacalia pseudo-taimingasa, 11 LC species, including Lilium distichum, and 3 DD species, including Aconitum chiisanense, which makes a total of 28 species. In terms of species exclusive to the region, a total of 7 species, including Fraxinus chiisanensis, Pseudostellaria heterophylla, Filipendula formosa and Cirsium chanroenicum, were confirmed, and since they were distributed widely in the Jeonji region of Jirisan (Mt.), there was minimal damage. Since rare species are localized in the region of Agosan (Mt.), there has been continuous damage due to visitors and hikers to the area, and there seems to be the need to handle the decreasing habitat for Allium victorialis var. platyphyllum, Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii and Trientalis europaea.

목적: 초고자장 MRI/MRS 장비를 이용하여 인체 피부조직의 고해상도 자기공명영상과 자기공명 스펙트럼을 얻고자 하였다. 또한 수분억제가 제외된 자기공명 스펙트럼을 이용하여 스킨로션(피부보습제)의 피부 보습효과가 측정가능한지 알아 보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: Bruker 14.1 T MRI/MRS 장비를 사용하였다. 자기공명영상을 얻기 위하여 Spin Echo 및 Fast Spin Echo 펄스시퀀스를 사용하였고 자기공명 스팩트럼을 얻기 위하여 PRESS 펄스시퀀스를 사용하였다. 결과: 초고자장 MRI/MRS 장비를 사용하여 인체 피부에 대한 고해상도의 자기공명영상과 자기공명 스펙트럼을 획득하였다. 수분 신호가 포함된 스펙트럼 분석을 통하여 스킨로션을 바르기 전에 비하여 스킨로션을 바른 후에 인체 피부조직의 수분 함유량이 상당히 증가함이 나타났다. 결론: 본 연구는 14.1 T 고자장 MRI/WRS 장비에서 얻은 피부 조직에 대한 고해상도 자기공명영상과 자기공명 스펙트럼이 보습효과를 측정하는 데 사용될 수 있음을 시사해 주고 있다. Purpose: We Investigated to achieve high resolution magnetic resonance (MR) Imaging and spectra of human skin in vitro with using a 14.1 T MRI/MRS system, and to evaluate the hydration effect of a moisturizer by measuring the skin's water concentration. Materials and Methods: We used the Brukrer 14.1 T MRI/MRS system with a vertical standard bore that was equipped with a DMX spectrometer gradient system (200 G/cm at a maximum 40 A), RF resonators (2, 5 and 10 mm) and Para Vision software. Spin echo and fast spin echo pulse sequences were employed for obtaining the high resolution MR images. The 3D-localized point resolved spectroscopy (PRESS) method was used to acquire the MR spectra. Results: The high resolution MR images and spectra of human skin in vitro were successfully obtained on a 14.IT system. The water concentration of human skin after applying a moisturizer was higher than that before applying a moisturizer. Conclusions: The present study demonstrated that the high-resolution MR images and spectra of human skin from a high field MRS instrument could be applicable to evaluating the hydration state of the stratum corneum.
