        We all recognize that Korea has created its excellent cultures in the traditional porcelain with different characteristics in different eras of its long history. Especially, Chon-nam Province has formed one of the most important and superior ceramic cultures in Korea; and also it has played a significant role in tile distribution of its workshops and its history. Judging from the height-level Koryo Celadon Porcelain in Kang-jin which was created with mature ceramic-making techniques, Green Celadon Porcelain in Hae-nam which has been asked for some historical and academic researches lately again, Poonchong-Sagi in Mu-an, Ko-heung and other places around Mt. Mu-deung which represents the national pictorial sentiments, and Everyday Porcelain in Mok-po which still stands for the modern practicalceramic, it is absolutely true that Chon-nam Province is a warehouse of ceramic cultures in respects of its purity and tradition. So, we have to be proud of this brilliant property of the traditional cultures and the regional sentiments, and also all the people in Chon-nam Province must take the responsibility for conserving and developing them thoroughly in scientific ways by studying every respect of ceramic. Ceramic is difficult to be activized only by the traditional craftmen but we should take into account various measures such as improving: the work conditions, proper guidance for quality-development, back-up policies from the centraland local governments, promoting the social understanding on our ceramic, expanding its demand, and so on. Even though some of suggestions from the thesis, such as establishment of provincial procelain institute and educational facilities, programs for promotion and advertisement, connection between cultural festivals and tourist industry, and political supports, are not good enough to improve and activate our traditional china-ware in chon-nam province, we have to make efforts to carry out these plans because they will influence strongly on development of our province in the new era of localization, and on its qlobalization.

        웃음과 실용주의의 관점에서 본 애니 프루와 성석제의 작품비교

        The purpose of this paper is to compare two short stories, American writer Annie Proulx`s "People in Hell Just Want a Drink of Water" and Korean writer Sung Suk-je`s "Thus Spoke Hwang Man-kuen,” in terms of their use of humor and approach to the theme of pragmatism. Both writers reveal a contradictory social order through laughter and use laughter to attack and disrupt what they perceive as a misguided history of artificial conventions. However, the characteristics of their laughter differ with each rooted deeply in the traditional culture of the respective society. Proulx uses tragic laughter to deconstruct fixed ideas, whereas Sung applies a comic approach. The differing ideas held by the two societies on the matter of pragmatism appear to control the way of life for characters in the two works. Proulx`s character Ras is taunted and ostracized by people in his town because his ideas and behavior are abstract and idealistic rather than practical, whereas Sung`s character Hwang Man-kuen is mocked and ignored because his talents are merely practical, without possessing the “gentility” of Confucian ideas.         자동차용 충격 흡수기의 동특성 연구

        A dynamic characteristics of shock absorber in the various excitation is investigated experimentally. Work diagrams and characteristic curves are used as a experimental standard. The various excitation conditions, temperature and noise are very important factors in associated with the reduction of damping force. It is found that the heat occurrence from shock absorber, the gas shock absorber is much than oil shock absorber and increased in high speed. As to the variation of damping force, there are no change when the speed is low, but we fixed amount of variation by increasing speed and change of new and old decrease. The sound pressure of the swash noise from cycle of shock absorber, we compared with theory sound pressure by experiment.

      • 정상인에서 근육내자극법 전후의 체열상의 변화

        Background: The Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is used for the diagnosis and treatment of myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) and other chronic pain. The infrared thermography has been used for the objective evaluation about the patiect's pain intensite. The tissue damage induced by IMS is continued two weeks and thermography is limited during self-recovering period. We investigated the thermographic recovery time to normal rage after IMS in human subjects. Methods: We studied twenty healthy human subjets. The IMS was performed without any information about thermographic finding. The differences of temprerature between left and right side at before, just after, 1~7days after IMS (ΔT^(pre, ΔT^(post) ,ΔT1~7) were obtained from thermographic image. The data were analyzed with paired t-test. Results:The difference of temperature between left and right side at just after(ΔT^(pre). Conclusions:It was concluded that the diagnostic infrared themography to confire effeciveness of IMS should not be performed during 5 days after IMS.

        A clinical observation was done on 30 children with rheumatic fever, who had been admitted to the Pediatric Department of Kyungpook National University Hospital from March 1978 to May 1983, and following results were obtained. Age distribution showed 43.6% in the age group of 6-10 years and 56.4%, 11-15 years. Male to female ratio was 1 2.9, and 18 patients (46.2%) experienced relapse more than one time. The common presenting symptoms were dyspnea on exertion in 79.5%, malaise in 69.2%, fever in 61.5%, arthralgia in 61.5%. palpitation in 53.6%, abdominal pain in 41.0%, and epistaxis in 10.3%. Physical examination showed cardiac murmur of mitral insufficiency in 100.O%, and hepatomegaly in 66.7%. frequency of major manifestations were carditis 100.0%, polyarthritis 15.4%, erythema marginatum 7.7%, subcutaneous nodules 5.1%, and chorea 5.l%. Laboratory findings showed leukocytosis in 48.7%, anemia in 43.6%, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate in 82.1%, antistreptolysin 0 titer over 300 units in 52.8%, and positive Creactive protein in 69.2%. Generalized cardiomegaly on chest radiogram was observed in 87.2%, left atrial enlargement on right anterior oblique view in 92.3%, and left ventricular hypertrophy in 84.6%. Electrocardiogram showed PR prolongation in 38.5%, QTc prolongation in 79.5%, ST and T wave change in 59.0%, left atrial enlargement in 56.4%, and left ventricular hypertrophy in 35.9%. In the majority of patients, clinical symptoms such as fever and resting dyspnea improved within 3 days of therapy with prednisolone and digitalis. However, elevation of peripheral venous pressure, increased ESR, and positive C-reactive protein returned gradually toward normal values requiring more than 10 days of treatment.

        아치형 단동온실의 지붕환기구조 및 천창효과

        온실재배에 있어서 가장 경제적인 환경조절 방법은 자연환기에 의한 것이므로 온실의 자연환기 성능을 극대화하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 온실의 자연환기 성능을 극대화하기 위해서는 지붕환기창의 설치가 중요한데, 아치형 단동 온실의 경우에는 천창을 설치하기 어려운 구조로 되어 있어서 대부분의 농가가 측창만 설치하여 운영하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 아치형 단동 온실의 지붕에 환기창 설치를 장려하기 위한 일환으로 사례조사와 효과분석을 실시하였다. 아치형 단동 온실의 지붕환기구조 실태조사결과 폭 5∼8m의 소형 온실에서는 플라스틱으로 제작된 원형 및 굴뚝형 환기창을, 폭 12∼18m의 대형온실에서는 철재 파이프를 덧붙인 양권취식을 많이 사용하고 있었다. 지붕환기차설치 온실과 관행의 권취식 측창만 설치된 온실에 대한 대조 실험 결과 비록 적은 면적의 지붕환기창을 설치하였지만 온도하강 1℃ 이상의 천창 환기 효과가 있었으며, 지붕환기를 실시함으로써 온도분포를 보다 균일하게 할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 지붕환기창을 설치함으로서 얻을 수 있는 온도상승 억제효과는 일사량과 풍속조건에 따라 뚜렷한 차이를 보이며, 풍속이 낮은 경우에 효과가 커지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 환기창의 개폐순서에 따른 전체적인 온도 하강의 차이는 없으나, 환기로 온도를 제어하는 경우에는 실내온도가 설정온도보다 높을 때는 천창을 열은 후 측창을 열고, 반대의 경우에는 측창을 닫은 후 천창을 닫는 것이 바람직한 것으로 판단되었다. It is difficult to install a ventilation window on the roof of single span greenhouses of arch shape. Investigation on the roof ventilation structures for those greenhouses was conducted. In small greenhouses with spans of 5 to 8 m, circular or chimney type ridge vents made of plastic were employed. In large greenhouses with spans of 12 to 18 m, even span roll-up ridge vents made of steel pipe were employed. The effect of roof ventilation was evaluated by comparative experiments between greenhouse installing ridge vents and having controlled side vents only. Roof ventilation contributed greatly to restraint of temperature rise and maintenance of uniform temperature distribution in greenhouses. And ventilation efficiency was analyzed by experiments on the opening and closing operation of the ridge and side vent. There were no temperature differences according to opening and closing sequence of ventilation window. But for greenhouse temperature control by ventilation, it is desirable to open side vents after ridge vents and to close ridge vents after side vents.

      • 수출용 축양품종 가지의 염절임 공정의 최적화

        가지의 수출 경쟁력 향상을 위한 한 방안으로 수출용 가지품종인 축양품종을 염가공품으로 개발하기 위하여 염절임공정을 최적화하였다. 염절임 시간, 절임온도, 염농도를 독립변수로 하고 절임 후 수분함량, 염도, 표면과 내부의 색도 등을 종속변수로 하여, 중심합성계획법으로 실험을 설계하여 최적조건을 얻고자 하였다. 수립된 이차회귀모형으로 예측식을 수립할 수 있었으며 특히 수분함량이나 염도, 표면과 내부의 L과 b 값에 대하여 높은 적합도를 보여 최적조건을 수립하기 위한 제한 변수로 선정하였다. 염농도를 중심점(30%)에서 고정시켜서 얻은 절임시간과 온도는 각각 5.5~6.5일과 13-17℃였으며, 이때의 종속변수의 제한 요건으로는 수분함량 84%이하, 염도 14%이하 표면 L값 10-20, b값 0이하, 내부 L 값은 70-75, b 값이 16-18이었다. This study was conducted to the optimize salting process of eggplant for development new product and enhancement quality for export. Three variables by five level central composite design and response surface methodology were used to determine optimum conditions for salting time, temperature and salt concentration. Optimization of the process was conducted using the combination of the moisture content, salinity and color of surface and inside of salted eggplant. The regression polynomial model was suitable (P>0.05) by Lack-of-Fit analysis with highly significant. To optimize the process, based on surface response and contour plots, the individual contour plots of the response variables were superimposed. The optimum conditions for this process were 6 days and 15℃ at 30% concentration under the optimum of restricted variables as moisture content was below 84%, salinity was below 14%, L and b value of surface were 10 to 20 and below 0, L value and b value of inside were 70 to 75 and 16 to 18.

      • PTEN 유전자 돌연변이를 동반한 Cowden병 1예

        Cowden's disease, also known as various hamartomatous malformations of multiple organs, is a rare autosomal dominant disorder. The most important feature of Cowden's disease is an increased incidence of malignant neoplasm, particularly in the breast and thyroid gland. PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted in chromosome 10) is a candidate tumor suppressor gene. Mutations of this gene are responsible for PTEN hamartoma tumor syndromes, including Cowden's disease, Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba syndrome, Proteus syndrome, and Proteus-like syndromes. After identification of PTEN as the gene for Cowden's disease, the incidence of Cowden's disease was estimated to be 1 in 200,000. However Cowden's disease with malignant neoplasm is quite rare in Korea so far. Recently we experienced a family with Cowden's disease who carry a frame shift germline mutation(C.606del T) at 10q23, exon 6 of PTEN gene. The authors report this case with literature review.

      • 자궁경부 편평상피세포암 환자에서 종양표지물질 SCC측정의 의의

        Serum squamous cell carcinoma-related antigen (SCC) level was measured in 71 patients with cervical cancer (62 of primary and 9 recurrent cervical cancer). The distribution of the clinical stages of cervical cancer were 23 in stage I, 28 stage II, 10 stage III, and 1 stage IV. According to our results and those of other authors, the normal value of serum SCC was less than 2 ng/ml. In patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix, the pretreatment positive rate of serum SCC was 55.8%(29/52), 72.4%(21/29) in keratinizing type and 34.8%(8/23) in nonkeratinizing type. And in adenosquamous cell carcinoma, the positive rate was 50%, adenocarcinoma 33.3%, and small cell carcinoma 0%. The elevation of the serum SCC values correlated with the clinical stages and the size of the primary tumors. The positive rates of serum SCC level were higher according to the stages, being 30.4%, 57.1%, 80%, 100% for stages I to IV respectively. And the absolute values of SCC were significantly higher in the sera of patients with stage II and III cervical cancer(5.911±9.809 ng/ml and 8.440± 11.331 ng/ml) when compared to those with stage I cancer (1.796±1.511 ng/ml). The positive rate in primary cervical cancer was 50% (31/62) and 100% (9/9) in recurrent cervical cancer. Follow-up studies with various stages showed that the antigen was useful in tracking the clinical course of disease after surgery or radiotherapy. After operation the elevated serum SCC levels returned to normal range, but after radiation or chemotherapy the titer did not decrease in some patients.
