        OGLE-2017-BLG-1049: ANOTHER GIANT PLANET MICROLENSING EVENT

        We report the discovery of a giant exoplanet in the microlensing event OGLE-2017-BLG-1049, with a planet-host star mass ratio of q = 9.53 ± 0.39 × 10-3 and a caustic crossing feature in Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) observations. The caustic crossing feature yields an angular Einstein radius of θE = 0.52 ± 0.11 mas. However, the microlens parallax is not measured because the time scale of the event, tE ≃ 29 days, is too short. Thus, we perform a Bayesian analysis to estimate physical quantities of the lens system. We find that the lens system has a star with mass Mh = 0.55+0.36-0.29 M⊙ hosting a giant planet with Mp = 5.53+3.62-2.87 MJup, at a distance of DL = 5.67+1.11-1.52 kpc. The projected star-planet separation is a⊥ = 3.92+1.10-1.32 au. This means that the planet is located beyond the snow line of the host. The relative lens-source proper motion is μrel ~ 7 mas yr-1, thus the lens and source will be separated from each other within 10 years. After this, it will be possible to measure the flux of the host star with 30 meter class telescopes and to determine its mass.

      • Modulation of Lipid Kinase PI4KIIα Activity and Lipid Raft Association of Presenilin 1 Underlies γ-Secretase Inhibition by Ginsenoside (20<i>S</i>)-Rg3

        <P>Amyloid β-peptide (Aβ) pathology is an invariant feature of Alzheimer disease, preceding any detectable clinical symptoms by more than a decade. To this end, we seek to identify agents that can reduce Aβ levels in the brain via novel mechanisms. We found that (20<I>S</I>)-Rg3, a triterpene natural compound known as ginsenoside, reduced Aβ levels in cultured primary neurons and in the brains of a mouse model of Alzheimer disease. The (20<I>S</I>)-Rg3 treatment induced a decrease in the association of presenilin 1 (PS1) fragments with lipid rafts where catalytic components of the γ-secretase complex are enriched. The Aβ-lowering activity of (20<I>S</I>)-Rg3 directly correlated with increased activity of phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase IIα (PI4KIIα), a lipid kinase that mediates the rate-limiting step in phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate synthesis. PI4KIIα overexpression recapitulated the effects of (20<I>S</I>)-Rg3, whereas reduced expression of PI4KIIα abolished the Aβ-reducing activity of (20<I>S</I>)-Rg3 in neurons. Our results substantiate an important role for PI4KIIα and phosphoinositide modulation in γ-secretase activity and Aβ biogenesis.</P>

        Trimethyl Lock Quinone-Functionalized Coumarin for Real-time Monitoring of NQO1 Activity in the Live Cells

        We developed trimethyl lock quinone-functionalized coumarin (probe 1) as a small fluorescent probe for the imaging of NQO1 activity in the live cells. NQO1 is highly expressed in most cancer cells and it is considered as a potential biomarker of NQO1-related cancer. Probe 1 showed the high selectivity and rapid fluorescence response to the NQO1 activity. In addition, the probe is biocompatible and easily penetrates living cells. It was found that probe 1 provided relatively strong fluorescence in NQO1-positive A549 cells, unlike NQO1-negative NIH-3T3 and MDA-MB-231 cells. Therefore, we demonstrated that probe 1 can detect NQO1 activity in real time in living cells and it can also distinguish different levels of NQO1 activity in various pathological cells.

        High Level of Sequence-Variation in Sacbrood Virus (SBV) from Apis mellifera

        Sacbrood virus (SBV) is one of the main pathogenic RNA viruses of honeybee. SBV is found worldwide and many local strains have been reported, such as kSBV, cSBV, and wSBV. In this study, SBV-specific DNA fragments were cloned and sequenced by reverse-transcription PCR from 4 populations of A. mellifera, 4 sequences from 1 population belonged to the 2134D51 genotype (349 nucleotides, nt) and 12 sequences from 3 populations belonged to the 2100D0 genotype (400 nt) among the 16 determined sequences. A total of 87 points of mismatches were found by comparison with the most similar sequences in GenBank. Seventeen single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) were detected, and 6 SNP-patterns in the 2100D0 genotype and 2 SNP-patterns in the 2134D51 genotype were identified based on SNP positions. In SNP-pattern 2, 10 SNPs were detected, but only 2 SNPs were found in SNP-pattern7. Meanwhile, one SNP-pattern was found from one RNAsample, multi SNP-patterns were detected from other RNA-samples. Large numbers of SNP variants indicate that vast numbers of point-mutations on SBV have occurred since SBV invaded Korea and that SNP smay have been introduced individually over time. Thorough analysis of SNP variants will not only define the local infection-route, but also the relationships between SNP-pattern and SBVpathogenic abilities.

        Purpose: Many university students are under a lot of job-seeking stress because the employment rate is low. This study sought to determine the relationship between job-seeking stress, self esteem, self efficacy and appearance management behavior amongst university students focusing on nursing. Methods: This descriptive correlational study evaluated the relationships between job-seeking stress, self esteem, self efficacy and appearance management behavior of 340 university students was conducted between September 1 and October 5, 2015. Results: The correlational analysis between job-seeking stress, self esteem, self efficacy and appearance management behavior revealed a negative correlation between job-seeking stress, self esteem and self efficacy and a positive correlation between job-seeking stress and appearance management behavior. In addition, age also correlated with self esteem, self efficacy and appearance management behavior. Conclusion: Stress correlated with self esteem and self efficacy and appearance management behavior. Therefore job-seeking stress may be reduced through not only self esteem and self efficacy enhancement programs but also management according to age.

        원료 배합 및 소금 농도에 따른 대맥장의 품질 특성

        검은콩 속성장인 대맥장의 실용화를 위해 검은콩과 보리 함량을 달리하여 메주를 만든 후, 소금 농도와 수분 첨가량을 다르게 하여 장을 담근 후 발효기간 중 품질 특성을 분석하였다. 대맥장이 발효되면서 pH는 점차 감소하였고, 총산은 증가하였다. 아미노태 질소 함량은 발효 중 현저하게 증가하였으며, 15% 염도에서 보다 10% 염도 조건에서 아미노태 질소 함량이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 대맥장 발효 70일째, 일반세균수는 발효기간에 따른 세균수의 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 유산균의 경우 10% 염도에서 발효기간이 증가함에 따라 2~3 log cycle 정도 감소하였고, 처리구 A와 15% 염도인 처리구 D에서는 유산균이 검출되지 않았다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 발효 중 증가하였으며, 10% 염도 조건에서 15% 염도 조건에서 보다 높은 값을 나타내었다. DPPH 라디칼 소거 활성능은 발효기간에 따라 증가하였으며, 발효 70일째에는 처리구 간 차이가 없는 것으로 확인되었다. 발효 70일된 속성장의 관능평가를 실시한 결과, 전반적인 기호도는 검은콩과 보리를 5:5 또는 7:3의 비율로 메주를 만든 후, 10% 염도에서 메주의 1.5배의 수분을 첨가하여 제조한 B와 C처리구가 우수한 것으로 나타났다. This study investigated the quality characteristics of black soybean paste(Daemacjang) with black soybean content and salt concentration. The total acidity increased as the pH decreased during fermentation period. The amino-type nitrogen content of all samples increased significantly during fermentation time. Total cell counts was not significantly different during fermentation, and mold counts decreased at 3 log cycles. The cell counts of lactic acid bacteria decreased approximately 2 to 3 log cycles in 10% salt concentration (treat B and C), and were not detected in treat A and D. Total polyphenol contents of treat A, B, and C were 42.77%, 52.99% and 52.95% during fermentation up to 70days, respectively, which was higher than D (39.86%). In a sensory evaluation, treat B showed the highest scores for overall acceptability.

        한국에 거주하는 동남아시아인의 비자종류에 따른 한글학습에서의 언어학습전략 차이

        이 연구의 목적은 한국에 거주하는 동남아시아인들의 비자 종류에 따른 한글학습에서의 언어 학습전략 차이를 탐색하고자 함이다. 이를 위해 G시에 소재한 A대학 외국어학습교류센터와 N구 이주민문화센터에서 한글공부를 한 총 125명의 동남아시아인을 연구 참여자로 설정하였다. 이후 이들을 대상으로 인구학적 정보와 언어 학습전략에 관한 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 연구 참여자는 비자 종류에 따라 배우자 비자, 워킹비자, 학생비자 집단으로 분류하였다. 설문 분석 결과, 비자 종류에 따라 워킹비자 집단이 기억, 보상, 정의적 전략에서 배우자 비자집단이나 학생비자집단보다 더 높은 평균점수를 보여주었고, 이는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 이는 동남아시아인들이 한글을 학습할 때 비자 종류에 따라 다른 학습전략을 활용하고 있음을 보여주는 결과이다. 본 연구 결과는 외국어학습교류센터와 이주민문화센터 등에서 한글학습 프로그램을 설계하고 실행할 때 학습자들의 비자 종류를 고려할 필요성이 있음을 시사한다. The purpose of this study was to explore visa status effect between the language learning strategies(LLSs)in Hangeul learning of South-eastern Asians who live in Korea. The 125 South-eastern Asians who participated in this study learned Hangeul at the Foreign Language and Exchange Center at A university and the Nam-gu Migrant Culture Center at G city. They answered to our questionnaires composed of LLSs including a few about demographic information. We divided them into three visa category groups: the spouses, the workers and the students. The results were as follows: There was a significant statistical difference in LLSs according to their respective visa status. The working visa group showed better skills in memory, compensation and affective strategies than the spouse and students groups. This difference was statistically significant. These results indicated that according to visa category of South-eastern Asians, they used different LLSs to learn Hangeul. This study suggests that in designing and implementing the Hangeul learning program the Foreign Language and Exchange Center, the Migrant Culture Center, other language institutions and policy makers should carefully consider the visa status of learners.

        성역할정체감이 겉옷 속옷에 대한 의복행동 및 의복이미지 선호에 미치는 영향

        This study intends to analyze the sex role stereotype that could be effective variable for conduction clothing behavior and clothing image preference, to find out the relationship between sex role stereotype and out/inner wear clothing behavior and clothing image preference of women, and to provide useful information for establishing marketing strategies of out/inner wear market. A total of 628 samples were selected from adult female in Seoul. Questionnaire was used as major method of gathering data. They were analyzd by SAS package. Main result of this study were follows: 1. In the relationship between clothing behavior and clothing image preference and demographic variables, four clothing- behaviores of out wear, and comfort and aesthetics of inner wear showed significant differences according to all of the demographic variables. 2. In the relationship between sex role stereotype and clothing behavior and clothing image preference, four types of sex role stereotype were showed significant differences in comfort, modesty, aesthetics and 'masculine-feminine' image of out wear, and 'masculine-feminine image of inner wear. 3. In the consistency between out wear clothing behavior and clothing image preference, and inner wear clothing behavior and clothing image preference according to sex role stereotype, all cases except one showed no significant consistency.

        자외선 조사에 의한 Hairless Mouse 피부구조 변화에 대한 형태학적 연구

        This study was observed of the skin that changed after irradiation of the ultraviolet A. All the mouse were hairless which the weight are about 25g and the ages $6\sim8$ weeks old. The mouse were divided into six groups; control, irradiated for 6 hours, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 21 days and 28 days. Each group was irradiated with ultraviolet that is $320nm\sim366nm$ of wavelengths. After irradiated, the skin was observed with the electron microscope and the light microscope. The results are as follow: 1) Light microscopy With following irradiation, the epidermis was not changed to most groups but at the 28 days group was thickened and deposit the melanocyte. The elastic fibers within the epidermis were thickened and twisted with following irradiation. 2) Eelectron microscopy The elastic fibers were slightly clumped at 6 hours group, mildly increased and partly aggregated in the 3 days group, branched and tangled at 7 days group, irregulated and electron density at 14 days group, sightly thickened and twisted at 21 days group, and randomly arranged, shortened, twisted, and electron density at 28 days group.

        A case of mucolipidosis II presenting with prenatal skeletal dysplasia and severe secondary hyperparathyroidism at birth

        Mucolipidosis II (ML II) or inclusion cell disease (I-cell disease) is a rarely occurring autosomal recessive lysosomal enzyme-targeting disease. This disease is usually found to occur in individuals aged between 6 and 12 months, with a clinical phenotype resembling that of Hurler syndrome and radiological findings resembling those of dysostosis multiplex. However, we encountered a rare case of an infant with ML II who presented with prenatal skeletal dysplasia and typical clinical features of severe secondary hyperparathyroidism at birth. A female infant was born at $37^{+1}$ weeks of gestation with a birth weight of 1,690 g (<3rd percentile). Prenatal ultrasonographic findings revealed intrauterine growth retardation and skeletal dysplasia. At birth, the patient had characteristic features of ML II, and skeletal radiographs revealed dysostosis multiplex, similar to rickets. In addition, the patient had high levels of alkaline phosphatase and parathyroid hormone, consistent with severe secondary neonatal hyperparathyroidism. The activities of ${\beta}$-D-hexosaminidase and ${\alpha}$-N-acetylglucosaminidase were moderately decreased in the leukocytes but were 5- to 10-fold higher in the plasma. Examination of a placental biopsy specimen showed foamy vacuolar changes in trophoblasts and syncytiotrophoblasts. The diagnosis of ML II was confirmed via GNPTAB genetic testing, which revealed compound heterozygosity of c.3091C>T (p.Arg1031X) and c.3456_3459dupCAAC (p.Ile1154GlnfsX3), the latter being a novel mutation. The infant was treated with vitamin D supplements but expired because of asphyxia at the age of 2 months.
